News I'm hearing today is reference Christian Benteke. A lot of contact from Villa with Benteke and his agent. This could either mean new contract or as I'm led to believe that the player will ask for a move. Favourites would be United in a player plus cash move.
Villa want to keep this quiet but it won't be long before this is made public.

I think your statement is pretty much common knowledge to be honest, and is obvious that it will be one or the other.
We as villa fans are not stupid and realise that something like this is going to happen anyway.

Its inevitable Benteke will leave sooner or later and I'm not adverse to a player plus cash deal. Rumours of Nani being the player have been circulating for a while and that isn't necessarily a bad deal. We will then have enough money for a decent replacement for where we are right now.

I'm sure some of you have seen an article going around suggesting that Gabby Agbonlahor is too comfortable at the club and it would benefit both if they parted ways. So should we sell him?

No, we shouldn't.
We should pay someone to take him

think he is a player who we miss when he isn't in the team yes he isn't the best finisher but hit a ball into a channel and let him chase it down see how he does with sherwood for 6 months

Don't really know why I have an unbelievable - its a Matt Kendrick article from the Birmingham Mail if anyone is interested. Personally I would keep him and use him sparingly (impact sub, cup games etc.) and get his wages down next time it comes up. If he has to take a pay cut to stay at Villa then we will really see how loyal he is.

I think we stand by him as he is villa through and through.
But look at it with your head and not a sentimental heart.
Other than one dimensional football, long ball and hope his pace beats everyone, what does he offer??
Can't finish.
Can't cross.
Can't pass more than ten yards.
Can't tackle.

I agree he gives us 100% of what he has. But, and this is the painful part, what he has is not very good.
Personally he would struggle to get in a championship side.
We deserve better.

I think Matt Kendrick is spot on, I have let my feelings known many times on this site about Agbonlahor and they have not changed.
I think if he warms the bench for a few weeks he might realise that just because he supports Villa and that he has been there since school he has no devine right to be in the side.
Let`s be honest here, he has been very reliant on his pace in the past, he has very little technical ability, on top of that he is not getting any younger, so he is going to slow up big time.
Most of his performances this season have been shocking, and for those reasons I would get rid.
I will now wait for the slagging off, sorry in advance.

All we miss is Gabby's pace. Sell him, in 2/3 years he'll be no where near the Prem.

If he wasn't from Birmingham, would there even be a debate ?
Hasn't earned his place for the last 5 years

Keep him. I like Gabby. That's all.

I agree, and I like him!

Perhaps he could be half time entertainment, we could watch him miss kicking a ball at a target on the half way line each week

I get that he's a villa fan and that's great, love his passion. But it's very easy to be loyal when no one else wants you. Good for running at tired defenders and that's about it wouldn't be a big deal if he stays or goes

I knew that timmy said there was going to be a clear out, but my god guys at this rate we aren't going to have the numbers for a squad, who's head is next on the choping block ? And what sort of money have we recived for those that have moved on

We are clearing people out but for next to nothing and not really freeing up any major wages as they are Lamberts budget signings, e.g Lowton and Sylla. Lowton for £1m is a bargain i know he wasn't at his best last season but given a run he's half decent, still remember that stoke goal! Good to see he's putting his stamp on the swuad though just hope when this takeover is sorted one way or another there's as many incomings as outgoings

I've just read that delph to Liverpool for £12m plus a player could happen,(on Twitter) hopefully not!

unless sherwoods got the replacement already set up such as walker then i think letting lowton go is a mistake, he might be punching above his weight at a mid table prem team but he would be a very usual bench player or back up

Liverpool have been linked with every player in the prem.
