Just saw a rumour that avb has told tom huddlestone and michael dawson they can leave spurs, they would be great signings for villa!

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Huddlestone is rubbish and Dawson isnt any better than Dunne. Why are people insisting on taking other teams scraps?

Defoe, Jones and now these two. We are supposed to be competeing with teams like Spurs......how did the last Spurs reject go by the way, Hutton?

Cmon, lets get realistic. We are not going to spend more money on average overpriced english dross when we have just hired a new scout who is well networked in Germany.

If you had a couple of German names for us i would be more inclined to agree

Agree5 Disagree6

Totally agree but for this to happen I reckon we would have to offload dunne, warnock, hutton and makoun.

Dunne would have to make way for Dawson and Huddlestone can be a creative presence and is available on loan.

Agree3 Disagree5

Bent is hoping that Jones and Defoe join villa
50/50 i think.

Agree2 Disagree5

Dawsons going to qpr. and we aren't the same team as 4/5 years ago and we aren't competing with the likes of spurs this season. we need signings like this to help us move on

Agree5 Disagree3

The fact that you think huddleston Is 'rubbish' an you think dawson is no better than dunne tells me you know very little about football! Lol. Now if you had said somethin along the lines of, why would we be interested in buying 2 players who are injury prone then maybe people might take you more seriously.

Agree5 Disagree2

So we sign average players with little potential? In my view we should look at off loading Bannan, Delfouneso and Delph as well as Warnock and Dunne.

With our midfield those guys have no shot. Lets make profit and sign a few more quality signings....Guidetti, Toivonen and Brahimi.

Defoe and Jones are not that answers......neither is Huddlestone

Agree3 Disagree2

Thank god you guys are not signing checks at Villa. Huddlestone and Dawson.......do me a favour.

Each will cost over 6mil and both are not difference makers. Hutton was 4mil ffs.

To state that someone knows nothing about football becauwe they prefer not to take overpriced rejects rather than trust the new scout is indeed hypocracy at its finest.

Next you will be calling for Michael Owen and Joe Cole. Wow, just wow really.

At the end of the day there is not a hope in hell that we end up with either of these Spurs rejects (thank the lord) so really, getting your panties in a twist about nothing.

Agree2 Disagree2

Get real guys! Huddlestone and Dawson wouldn't be the worst, and they are players within our reach! I think you're forgetting that we narrowly avoided relegation last season and 2 experienced players like them would do wonders for our youngsters too

Agree2 Disagree1

1year ago dawson was a regular in the england squad an if not for injuries last season he would have went to the euro's an huddleston is a very good football who'd only negative is injuries so any1 who says there not good enough for villa clearly knows nothin about football! I find it amusing people would rather spend big money on unproven players ie brahimi, guidetti an toivonen from foriegn leagues than buy proven quality, the only thing that would stop me from buying dawson an huddleston would be their injury records of late

Agree1 Disagree0

'Wow, just wow'..... Lmao. So who would you suggest we buy then? Im guessing your not a big fan of cole or owen. Who are better than dawson an huddleston who we can afford??

Paul Lambert has offered 2.5m to blackburn plus stephen warnock for there left back martin olsson who handed in a transfer reqeust

Believable6 Unbelievable3

I like Martin Olsson for his ability going forward but im not convinced he's the best defender. Which we need aswell as an attacking threat.

Agree4 Disagree5

Olssons a decent player, perhaps we could throw in hutton into the deal too!

This isn't a rumour but by any chance would anyone like us to sign arshavin.i think paul lambert could get him playing at his best, but I thought he'd go to villa because of where we placed last year and he has really high wages.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

His wages are astronimcal and he gives nothing to a team like arsenal, y would we want him.

Agree6 Disagree2

Arsenal want £10m for a 31 year old!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Yes Bent needs supply from the wings, but the wingers need to receive the ball in a position where they can deliver the cross and that didn't happen on Saturday, we had a lone striker, it's not easy for the lone striker to find space for a winger to be able to pick out the perfect cross, ideally a winger needs 2 strikers to aim for. So do we have problems on the wings - too early to tell. Our main problem is we only have bent up front, again it's not ideal fora winger, bents not a target man so the long ball over the top wasn't an option, the only way we could play effectively was along the floor through the centre, and Ireland failed. Albrighton and N'Zogbia will need to step up, but they need 2 targets to aim for in the box, and bent needs a strike partner. Priority has to be a front man!

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Kenwyne Jones he was Bents partner at sunderland and they worked very well together. I think bents performances at sunderland lacked something when jones was sold.

Heard alot of rumours linking Bent back to Spurs! Potential swap him and Defoe.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

No way I cannot see this happening at all not after the way he was treated their. Being a subsitute most the time

Anyone know how much caroll would want? I dont think hes on that much he was on peanuts at newcastle so i doubt hes any higher than 45-50k yeah thats high for villa but come on we paid heskey 60k to hold the ball up and fall over atleast theres goals in caroll and hes an england international personally i think he and bent would be killer. you got the big guy and the goal snatcher . Trouble is they both would need better service so i think jarvis or sinclair young hungry and skillful.

Naturalvillan

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Newspapers think carroll is on £60k s week plus he got a big signing on fee, i dont think his wages would be a problem but that transfer fee is not possible, we cant afford to spend £20m on 1 player, so i can only see a loan deal happening an even that seems unlikly. >scg87

Agree6 Disagree2

He turned us down.

Agree1 Disagree5

Im near sure hes on 70 or 80k

Agree0 Disagree6

Caroll would be better than defoe anyway..he has the ability to hold the ball up and link the midfield to attack. cant see defoe doing that

Agree2 Disagree3

I thought Liverpool owe us money from the Downing deal?, i did hear £8 million !, if thats the case then offer a further £6 million for Carrol, bish bash bosh everyones a winner.

Agree1 Disagree5

Everyones a winner? Well liverpool want £20m not £14m so they wouldnt see it that way
