Word from the trenches, the stellar centre forward we are going for is, IVICA OLIC. yes i'm lost for words too, i mean what can you say, i guess we're not going to be using his pace against the opposition then!

To coin a phrase, 'top of the world ma, top of the world'. what do you chaps think of the fact we're going after a somewhat more mature striker then? i'm genuinely lost for words, i don't get the logic, kingvilla if your out there, what does this mean guvnor?

19 Jul 2016 22:57:33
No chance mate!

19 Jul 2016 23:15:16
I'm lost for words too. Lost for words that you believe what you read in the press
There have been more stories about us signing Slimani but you're not on here telling us how excited you are
You are picking your headlines to suit your standpoint.

20 Jul 2016 00:48:50
wow flackie i agree with you on this 1 we are not after any1 untill we can find a buyier for this rubbish. guzan going on a free to boro aparently IF true then great do it with lescot bacuna gabby.

20 Jul 2016 08:44:39
So class of 82, you believe everything your told or read then?

we are being linked with every striker form here to Mars as RDM has stated we are looking for a striker, It doesn't mean it will happen . Unless you want to believe it is!

On that note I regret to inform you, there is no such thing as Santa, the easter bunny or the tooth fairy either .

Why don't certain people try to look for the positives in life as opposed to looking at only the negatives.

20 Jul 2016 10:02:48
Couldn't agree more villa Ken. Sick and tired reading all the negative crap on here, for Christ sake give rdm a chance and he will get it right, may take a season. If villa fans believe everything they read in the press then they have a lower iq than the rest of the country think.

20 Jul 2016 10:06:09
Who said anything about the press, and who is choosing the headlines to suit their purpose? never saw it in the press, didn't even know it was in the press, as for choosing the headline, that doesn't add up then for your theory, but i didn't put it on here with a sub context (or scream up), rdm actually thinks he can do a job for us, in just the same way he has looked at ricky lambert.

he has now been looking at two mature strikers, that's not me starting a rumour, that's a fact, my mate emailed me that he'd seen a couple of bloggers involved in all things german football past and present had been told we made discreet enquires, so being ever so shrewd.

i thought i might put the 'rumour' on the RUMOUR page, i hold my hands up if i've gone and got it wrong again, we're all a twitchy at the moment, maybe the hot weather or maybe we're all a bit more nervous about our club than we care to admit.

anyways, no underlying games being played here, just heard a genuine rumour and decided to share it, blimey, if these were the wild west times i think i'd be booking me plot up boot hill double lively!
Onwards and upwards

Villa_kenn,
you had me thinking your way until you made the schoolboy error and said there's NO SANTA. of course there is a santa, as a matter of fact our one just happens to be chinese!

the olic rumour is just one i got told by someone i know, and seeing as its a rumour site i thought, go crazy my boy, throw caution to the wind, 'i think it has no less validity than the salami rumour or the mcshortmack rumour.

in these times of feast and famine i feel obliged to share what's out there with my fellow brethren, if nothing else, some may chortle at such a left field suggestion, but what will happen if he chooses us over the bar codes. yes tune in next time for the answer to this and many more illogical representations on the good ship villa, and her quest for a new crew who know what to do.

20 Jul 2016 12:31:35
Don't get me wrong class of 82 this is a rumour and banter site

However what gets my goat is when people who are apparently villa fans come on here moaning and or slating the owner and manager for not spending vast amounts of money on new players . The onwer and manager are both new!
Our owner Chinese or not is no Santa or sugar daddy and why would we expect him to be? Football is a business and not an open cheque book!

It's like having 10 pairs of shoes, that are either good, ok or bad quality . You wouldn't go out and buy another 10 pairs without assessing what you need in your wardrobe!

Im not for a minute suggesting we need to sell before we buy . But we have 30 players most of which are dross. some though with the right coaching and guidance will be an asset to the team . But that's it all players good or bad are assets and someone somewhere is willing to buy any one of our players as they have the title professional footballer meaning they must be able to do a job!

Once RDM has got the players he wants in/ out then us as fans can and will judge him based on results .

This is a banter site . But as a fan I'm VTID through good, bad and ugly times . Villa fans are renowned as serial moaners living on the glories of yester years . Absolute madness! Let's just all keep the faith and enjoy the ride to what is a passion but certainly not life and death!

20 Jul 2016 12:54:25
Fair enough mate. The trouble with this kind of medium is that people sound harsher than the mean to be or if you are the sensitive type, you can ascribe negative attributes to what people write
Anyway, the point is, the pistol, real or imagined, will remain in it's holster. Until Kingvilla says something ridiculous!

20 Jul 2016 13:48:08
I wasn't having a pop, and as far as u know I never have mate, if it comes across that way, I apologise.
I just disagree, I personally don't think he is coming as I thought he had retired! However, if either him or Ricky lambert where to come, I welcome them! As I like them both, and think they are mDe for the championship!

20 Jul 2016 18:52:39
I love this site;its like one of those american mystery/ drama shows, one character has one point of view, another character has another, there's a hoo-ha and hey presto, we all learn the lesson that though we're all different, if we learn to respect different ways with tolerance and respect (can't get enough of that word though) justice and peace will prevail, amazing stuff!

20 Jul 2016 19:24:55
Ken.

Could you please explain to my wife that bit about assessing the quality of her shoes before going out and buying another ten pairs.

I knew her wardrobe was full of them but even I was amazed when we were moving house and I discovered another thirty pairs in the loft! Some still in their original boxes and never been worn! #imeldamarcoshaanothingonher.

20 Jul 2016 20:03:49
Mate, I think it's more like a SouthAmerican telenovela at times but I take your point
Shall we have a group hug?

21 Jul 2016 15:33:03
Olić retired maybe two days ago.

19 Jul 2016 20:35:38
West Brom bid 4.5 mil for Clark, after his euros performance thinks it's best for him an the club he moves on, but if baggies want him tell them they can bid 8mil, make sure we mug them off an not the other way round. For all the calamity he is still relatively young and could end up being a decent player.

19 Jul 2016 20:59:00
I have two words, Gary Cahill.

19 Jul 2016 21:23:01
I think there is merit to both points
If you are going to sell him, let's get as much dough as possible, more like 6.0 mil for me.
I hear what you say Flackie but I just don't see Clark turning into a player as good as Cahill became, not even close. That said, some are late developers and that is particularly true with centre-halves.
I remember the days when Carragher was seen as a liability at Liverpool
In other words, I should have kept my gob shut on this one!

19 Jul 2016 21:36:18
I believe Ciaran Clark is a class act i would tell pullis to jog on if they want a cbk offer them lescot or okore lol. pulis loves clark he won't give up let's hope we keep him!

19 Jul 2016 22:01:49
Was thinking Gary Cahill when I was writing the last sentence in the post, checked an Cahill was 22 when we sold him but do agree Clark could easily thrive under the new manager/ playing style. However if we are going to sell, don't sell to a rival and if so milk as much money as possible so we don't end up with egg on our face. Also think Okore and Clark arguably make similar amount of mistake however Okore has the pace and strength to get himself out of those mistakes more often than Clark does.

19 Jul 2016 22:07:03
Clark is 26 now, I think one of him and Baker have to leave and personally I would keep Baker as he's got that championship experience.

19 Jul 2016 22:07:25
Clark does make mistakes but i woyld definitely keep him. I think he reads the game well and is far better positionally than okore and baker. I would be interested to see how he does in a defence which isn't under d much pressure all the time.

19 Jul 2016 22:11:08
I like Clarke and okore give them a few more years an they both be very good.

19 Jul 2016 22:45:34
IMO, Baker is potentially closer to being Cahill class, heard him being called 'last ditch' but better decision making comes with experience, he's a warrior, not scared of getting hurt, I don't see that in Clark, and we've got Toner coming through that's left sided and looks the part, take the money but squeeze some more out of them

UTV.

19 Jul 2016 23:02:24
I would play Clarke and baker.
Okore I see your point, but anyone player who for what ever reason refuses to wear the shirt, has burnt their bridges in my opinion.
He may not agree with the managers team selection, and I totally agree with him, if the Klingon can get in the side above him would cheese you off, but that single reaction should end it in my view.
Keep baker and Clarke, lose okore.
If he can throw dummy out once, can do it again.

20 Jul 2016 00:39:13
I love baker for his commitment but if he rad the game better he wouldn't have to make all the tackles he does. Next to a defender better at organising he could be could. can't play clark and baker together. Most if clarks poor performances came when he was on the right. Overall i think clark and baker competing to partner elphick or okore could work.

20 Jul 2016 08:18:45
For me Clarke is a liability and Baker but if I was too choose it would be OKore and Elphick at the back with Baker as the holding midfielder Clarkes positioning is terrible and will make 1 good challenge in about 2 matches he will give more dangerous free kicks away around the box when playing. Having played at at a decent standard where by I was getting paid to play the game I love i was speaking to a old team mate the other day and we was on about Baker and how he could become a really good player for us but if the Tesco carrier bags want Clarke then let him go for 5 mill that's about his price IMO.

20 Jul 2016 08:53:01
Bakers commitment could see him as a holding midfielder but that's it, no other quality he has would suit a defensive midfielder, he can't read the game well enough, isn't fast enough and hasn't got the passing ability.

20 Jul 2016 09:59:17
Clark is a pathetic defender, makes far too many mistakes, dives in without thinking and always makes the wrong choice. Take the 4.5 mill all day long. Good riddance.

19 Jul 2016 19:32:02
Heard a rumour today that we going for Liam Moore off Leicester another centre back?
I like him but think striker more important right now we AV already got elphick.

19 Jul 2016 22:46:21
Got a Leicester friend who rates him highly

19 Jul 2016 15:21:54
Hamburg have reportedly made an 8 million bid for Jordan ayew, now it's only a matter of days since dr xia informed us that ayew was stayin so we are about to get a quick indication of just how much we would rather have the cash instead.

19 Jul 2016 16:12:55
I personally would take that for him, if he doesn't want to play for us cash in! This isn't a rumour just a suggestion what do people think about Peter Crouch?

19 Jul 2016 16:21:49
Crouch is well finished.

19 Jul 2016 16:23:59
I think he's very tall - and probably very past-it unless we're going to rely on the long-ball-into-the-box game or play with a couple of decent wingers. Possibly some value as a super-sub when we're 1-0 down but that may be an expense we can't afford to carry.

19 Jul 2016 16:24:45
2 weeks ago ayews agent said galatasary was a destination his client would like to play, maybe he's had a change of heart, let's see if his word is as good as his bond fellas eh?

19 Jul 2016 18:14:32
The point I'm making is that dr xia stated on Sunday that ayew wasn't leaving in a Twitter post

So is he true to his word or are we going to take the cash to fund further signings

Personally I'd be disappointed now if he leaves after being told he would stay by our new chairman.

19 Jul 2016 19:48:54
ayew is a rising star keep him 1 more year if i was xia i would pay up lescot bacuna gabby contract the are poisonous and as for a striker its tough to find goalscorers really acted slow on gayle but at least they no the problems i dnt think we will go up it will take more than 1 season to sort this out.

19 Jul 2016 20:17:10
I know it's been said we don't want him but surely McCormack is under consideration.

19 Jul 2016 22:48:55
Ayew's not the answer, potentially very good but I think he's wired wrong, could see him getting a lot of suspensions in the Championship, replaceable at £8M+
