Despite approaching Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Villa are set to approach Norwich City for their manager Paul Lambert.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

He will decline the invitation

Agree4 Disagree12

Another fan from another team checkin out the villa page. Jealous because their star striker has handed in a transfer request

Agree11 Disagree0

There will apparently be talks with Lambert come Monday and Martinez, for some strange reason, is still in the equation.

Agree2 Disagree1

No, not a chance, take a look at thier web site

We have a good spine, with given, ireland and bent and we need to build around these types of players. we need to get a leader in the cb position someone that will control play and keep it on the floor unlike dunne and collins. then we can start to fill in the gaps i reckon this would need 25-35m to rebuild.

sales should include dunne, collins, warnock, cuellar, makoun, heskey, hutton, petrov and delph

any ideas of who we could bring in ed? {Ed007's Note - It will depend on who the manager is.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Do you seriously think villa will sell petrov when he is fighting lukiemia??

Agree3 Disagree1

Him i meant he wont be playing again.

Ogs hasn't signed any kind of contract! Just had formal disscusion with Lerner think hell be a good manager with fast attacking football again instead of a defensive minded manager in mcimbecile looking forward to next season and who he signs if he decides to join us Utv Leighton dmms from Birmingham

And before people say what sources its what its saying on football news sites

Believable6 Unbelievable2

IF villa do get OGS as manager and he brings in a few man u players i'll be happy he plays attacking football i just hope he gets 30-40m to spend as even though McLeish was rubbish he was doomed from the start with the players he lost and then only having 16m to spend got 3 players out of it and yeah only 1 them is decent in Given

Believable3 Unbelievable2

This is the complete opposite of what I want, I don't want him to turn into a Steve Bruce signing all of Uniteds fringe players, and playing weakened teams when we play them to do them a favour. Besides he is completely untested as a manager, Norway doesn't seem all that competitive.

Agree8 Disagree3

Ok fair enough Norway isn't competitive but OGS won the league with his home town team giving them their first trophy in 100 years so he has some quality and if he can bring a dash of quality to villa then so be it and maybe he'll get villa playing for 93-95 mins rather than 80 as villa have been doing.

And if he's brings a few man utd players in it will only strenghen us

Agree2 Disagree1

I agree, we could get the likes of fabio, park, cleverley(maybe) on loan. Owen on a free, things are finally looking up ... give him a chance at least {Ed004's Note - I doubt you would get any of them. Cleverley will be a regular starter next season when he comes back fully fit, Fabio is going to Benfica and I can see Park staying or going abroad}

Agree1 Disagree1

He can only get 2 Owen on the other hand big sick note risk

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Michael owen is not wanted at villa, hes too injury prone and hes past it.............the bluenoses can sign him though

Norwegian press say Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already agreed to become the new Aston Villa manager.
Solskjaer has apparently also been promised considerable funds to rebuild & reawaken the sleeping lion of aston villa.

Given & Bent offer a good start to the squad from tip to toe.
Solskjaer will now be looking to add quality & flair to his midfield & a new look back 4. (Park Ji Sung has been linked! - he could add that flair to the squad)

My sources inform me that hutton, warnock, dunne & collins' days at Villa Park have passed.
Lichaj & Clark will fill half of those vacated first team spots.

Agbonlahor will apparently be used as a shadow striker to lure the ball quickly from midfield upto the crisp finishing which Darren Bent accomplishes.

The future looks bright!!

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Who are you're sources that seem to know what Villas defence will look like before a manager has been appointed?

Agree5 Disagree1

Park Ji Sung is one of the worst players in the league.

I do feel sorry for mcleish. He was never ever gonna succeed because the backlash started against him before he even took the job. Im not sorry to see him go because tactically we were inept and i fully understand that the players need to take a long look at themselves too as it wasnt all mcleish. After reading mcleish's statement its obvious he is a genuine guy with a bit of class and i hope he does well in the future.

For our future however the prospect of solskjaer would be interesting maybe with martin laursen as an assistant. This would see us get the benefit of both an attacking and defensive point of view.

As for transfers , id take a punt on michael owen as he is available on a free and injury permitting he is a proven goalscorer. Even as an experienced bench player he would be valuable. Also jordan rhodes from huddersfield may be worth a gamble. Other than that i would like nzogbia to be sold off to make room for hoillett. Also we could do with an entirely new back 4 but i know this probably wont happen so i new rb and cb would do nicely. we could improve the central midfield a lot too and there are some bargains to be had out there. we just have to make sure we get too them first.

I spose one thing is for sure , villa fans are certainly more optimistic about next season. UTV!

People might be getting ahead of themselves here... but a rumor is going about that Solskjaer will be manager and he will sign Fabio from united straight away.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Doubt it about fabio, but owen would be a huge possibility

Agree2 Disagree1

Probably on loan.

Agree2 Disagree1

Its in all the norwegian papers today that randy lerner is in norway talking to solskjær. theres even a picture of lerners plane in norway. molde fk confirms aprouch from villa too. check out www.vg.no and translate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont know bout signings but i think it will be a good move bringing in OGS as he'd have links to loan Man u Youth players and sign some like Bruce and Keane have used these links.
OGS has also won the league with his team and sits in 2nd right with them so think is a good choice of a hungry young manager who we need to get behind and give him 2-3 seasons and hopefully Lerner gives him some money for players and i dont mean 10-20m but more like 30-40m which is what is needed to regain villa's status in the league

Agree1 Disagree0

Good manager choice not happy with Fabio. Hope his signings are better than that
