just heard Manchester United have entered talks with agent to sign benteke. this must be the strong presence needed that moyes was on about. no wonder he refused to go on tour. get £20 mill and I would be happy.

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Who has told you this utter rubbish - Bentekes agent?
Presumably we are getting Rooney as a makeweight in the deal.

Agree5 Disagree4

Not sure they can enter into talks with the agent from hell.
Surely they must first contact Villa to agree a fee.

Agree5 Disagree1

I hope he does go Manchester United as he will spend most off the time on the bench
as he won't get the nod over rvp or rooney surely villa need to hold out for that £25 mill hope we don't get bullied into less then that

Agree5 Disagree1

I doubt this very much.

Agree3 Disagree1

20mil? why should man u get him cheaper?

Agree6 Disagree2

Just heard form who?

I have 11 sites open on the taskbar and nothing like it mentioned.

Agree6 Disagree2

Benteke's going to spurs for 25m. He's not going to Chelsea because he wouldn't get enough first team football so why would he go to man u?

Agree6 Disagree1

United have RVP, Welbeck, Rooney & Hernandez, why would they want someone with such a bad attitude! they don't & won't!

Agree6 Disagree1

Was there a roumor the other week regarding danny welbeck being linked with the villa if this was correct and the roumor of bentekke to united surely welbeck + 10 mil would b great buisness

Agree3 Disagree7

MUFC have a habit of stealing our top players so £20m is not enough, £25/30m would be nearer the ball park figure.
They unsettled Yorke, see John Gregorys comments, and it is suggested that Young was approached as it was said that he knew some time before it became open knowledge that he would be playing for MUFC.
Real money this time no make weights or add ons unless they are above the asking price.

Agree7 Disagree3

Easily pleased then I see.

There is no reason why we should lower the price on a player who is contracted to us for three further years.

We are in the drivers seat here. He goes at our valuation or he stays and either makes amends for his actions or will ride the bench.

Spurs made us pay for Jenas even when he was injured, so they can stump up or forget it. Chelsea might be a good place to send him, but they want to offer Ba plus 7-10mil, so not an ideal bit of business as we want straight cash.

Perhaps if Man U paid the full price we may go ahead with a move, but it may arouse interest if they were to offer cash plus Welbeck. he has undoubted ability but is a risk and hasn't been at all consistent.

I am all in favour of doing business for the full cash amount only and allow Lambert to weave his magic once more.

Agree6 Disagree2

Said it before and il say it now. welbeck 1 league goal last season compared to almost 20 for benteke?
10mil and welbeck would be awful business for us.

Agree6 Disagree2

God, I am so bored of these posts that are nothing more than mischief making
They are the online equivalent of graffiti but without any artistic merit
Please guys, give it a rest
(I wouldn't mind if they were atleast slightly witty)

With respect to chelsea offering Ba as part of the deal (and i'm not sayinh they will or that he will come) given that he will probably insist on a low release clause like he did at newcastle (7m), what would his value be in such a deal? can't see chelsea offering ba and 18m.

Agree4 Disagree2

Benteke wants spurs to press up there pursuit of him this week as he does not want to come back to villa! feeling guilty is he?

Agree4 Disagree2

The 25 mill price will not be met because benteke wants out and the last thing villa want is a rouge player. He will join the mighty spurs for 19-23 mill

Agree2 Disagree3

"Spurs made us pay for Jenas when he was injured" gun in the mouth I'm guessing? Lmao, so pathetic!

Agree2 Disagree3

Enough of benteke talk we're all sick of it the most important thing at villa park is that we don't lose the most aggressive and talented teaM buider since ron SAUNDERS PAUL LAMBERT

Villa are closing in on a £5m deal for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Sadio Mane

Believable13 Unbelievable7

16 goals in 24 games, 21 years old, £5 = BARGAIN! In Lambert We Trust!

Agree8 Disagree5

Mane, Castaignos & we should be ready to beat Arsenal!

Agree10 Disagree4

Mane and Finnboagason are must buys if cb is too leave young eager and full of potential, everyone else around us is trying to buy young class so we've been doing something right

Agree9 Disagree3

Just how true are these latest rumours guys? because i'd love to think we will be signing these young guys.

Agree5 Disagree5

I submitted this rumour & I submitted the past Jed Steer ones too. Villa have put in an enquiry into Mane & are preparing a bid for him.
Lambert has a meeting with Faulkner in the coming days to deal with any replacement required for Benteke, Castaignos seems more likely than Finnbogason does.

Agree10 Disagree7

Finnbogasson won't make it in the prem get castaignos

Agree8 Disagree11

Finnbogasson has everything Benteke has. immense signing if we get him at 5-7m and sell Benteke for 25m

Agree5 Disagree11

Playing devils advocate here, have you actually seen Mane play, or have you just looked up his stats? Great stats from a CM of course but from what I remember from the Olympics that guy would struggle to play for our under21s. Not to mention he's playing in a poor to average league so it's hard to judge him as a £5m bargain based on his stats alone.

Agree7 Disagree3

I've seen him before mate & he is more of a Westwood sort of player than anything else.
