Didier Deschamps from a usually reliable source on twitter.

Believable4 Unbelievable12

Where is the tweet couldn't see anything?

Alan Curbishley is the man, why do you think he turned down the wolves, he was waiting for this to come available, ex-player who knows the club and what the fans want, we havn't got buckets of cash so he would perfect to ease us up the league to some form of respectability.

Agree3 Disagree14

God help us if Curbs comes in

Agree10 Disagree0

The board have released a statement saying there looking for a young manager.

Agree9 Disagree1

Curbishley is not the man to have. Why has he been out of work for 3 years. If he was any good he would be in work by now!!!!!!

Agree13 Disagree2

If Villa appoint Curbishley (a player who my uncle swears to this day is the worst he has seen in a villa shirt) AVFC will go down next season.

Agree6 Disagree0

WHAT !!! the worst player your uncles seen in a villa shirt, he obviouslly hasn't been down this year then.. because i can think of about 6 -7 players to beat him hands down.

Agree5 Disagree0

Curbishley comes, I cry, so much that the pitch will be water logged the entire season

Agree2 Disagree0

You could always have another protest march or 2

AVFC Board have a list of candidates.

Roberto Martinez
Paul Lambert
Guy Poyet
Roberto Di Matteo (depending on his Chelsea status of course)
Andre Villas-Boas (as he will be able to build his own new squad)

Believable12 Unbelievable6

I think everyone would love avb but is he a realistic target

Agree8 Disagree1

You missed out Ranieri, and at least a dozen others. Dont watch the bookies, they only want you to spend your money on what THEY say are favourite.

Agree5 Disagree0

Who says this is their short list?

Agree5 Disagree0

Where do people get to see these short list of managers,

avram grant has walked out of his club not sure of the club but i think they won the title this season,i know he is coming to england tomorow, so watch this space,he aint to bad never had a chance at pompey at the hammers he wasnt great but he take chelsea to the champions league final

Believable4 Unbelievable9

He took an already good Chelsea tem to the champions league final and no offence, he had plants of time at Pompey and the hammers and knackered those clubs. A good director of football with good contacts but he is not a premier league manager. Not for Villa as he is no better than what we have just got rid of.

Agree0 Disagree0

Avram is king of getting teams relegated. west ham were shocking under him, a good team but shocking. no way do I want him anywhere near villa park

Villa's next manager:

Lambert
Poyet
Martinez

I believe it will be Poyet as he was at Norwich game

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Did you see him? i doubt it.

Agree5 Disagree2

Yes I did he was sat half way up in the visitors directors box, couldn't mistake that face anywhere.

so the board said we had to cut costs and effectively thats what they've done at the expense of attendances depleting.

I believe Mcleish did exactly what he was paid for as anyone we get as a manager now we'll be happy and wont be comparing to O'neill as providing we win more than 4 games we'll be happy

Cause even for Houllier he was a good manager and if he had come in after Mcleish i believe he'd of had a better run

ed; are we interested in any central defenders,i see james collins didnt make a poor welsh squad lastweek, how can he be fist choice for use far to slow goes to the ground to easy,and who can we replace heskey with, i think the only one can be messi haha {Ed007's Note - Any signings will depend on the new manager.}

my list of possible next manager
1 Steve Bruce
2 Sam Allardyce (if WHU dont get promoted)
3 Mick McCarthy
4 Neill Lennon
5 Roy Keane
6 Alan Shearer
7 Lee Clark
8 Greame Souness
9 Kevin Keegan
10 Stuart Pearce

Believable2 Unbelievable19

More of the same then. MEDIOCRITY!

Agree10 Disagree1

I have to ask do you support a team in Blue that play in the Championship?

Agree8 Disagree0

Is that a list of potential managers or McLeish's transfer targets????

Agree9 Disagree0

Bruce, Mccarthy, Allardyce, Lennon or Keane. Bloody hell. Rather stick with AMC if that is what we are going to get. No better than what we got to be honest. All bloody useless.

Agree8 Disagree0

Get Martinez from wigan with your resources the good days will be back,he needs a big club and he will prove how good he is.

Agree8 Disagree0

I'm hoping to God we dont get any of those managers - that really would be a backward step.
My preferences by a mile would be Martinez or Di Matteo.

Then get James Milner back and build the team of youngsters around him.

Agree4 Disagree0

Neil lennon is a good manager and is young has won trophies and was a player under martin o'neil so thats a good thing but couldnt see him leaving martinez is the best bet for you

Agree0 Disagree6

Avb pleeeeezz

Agree4 Disagree0

Neil Lennon would be a PR disaster for the club. No thanks.

Agree3 Disagree0

Worst list of managers ever!

Agree1 Disagree0

Neil lennon is a great manger and if he gets annoyed at 1 of the refs that good brings a bit of fight to epl plus he only does it cause he is fighting for his club what is what we wont

Agree0 Disagree3

Someone Mentioned Paul Jewell he could do a job for us maybe even get top half finish

Agree0 Disagree3

AVB will never even consider us, Chelsea paid 15m to get him from Porto and paid him a hell of a lot in wages. He will manage some Dubai team who offers the big bucks.

Local press saying Mcleish will meet Luner this morning and be sacked.. lets hope so

Believable8 Unbelievable0

AMC has gone then and now the game of "guess who we will get" starts. I hate what AMC did to this club this season but you know what? I honestly wish him all the best. He isn't a bad person, just someone who was out of his depth and I dont blame him for being offered the job of managing Villa and fair play to him for having the balls to accept, I wouldn't have in his position. He was in a no one situation. If he won six on the bounce, then we would have wanted seven wins in a row (I know I would have). This was as much Lerners fault as anyone for offering him the job in the first place. You have to back a new manager in the transfer market and Lerner tried to cut to much cost too soon - same as the economy, look where all the cost cutting has done to the country. Yes Mr Lerner, cut costs by all means but do it gradually. Back your next manager with the cash to do the job and dont ignore us fans - its us buying merchandise and turning up for games that fundamentally keeps the club going. Without us fans there is no club so be careful in your next selection of manager and dont ignore us again like last time or you will find that the crowds keep falling.
