There's a strong rumour that a player is having a medical at Villa tomorrow to become our first signing of the window, not sure who though.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Probably some 18 year old no one has ever heard of

Agree6 Disagree1

Have just read a rumour that grant Holt is strongly linked to come in on loan

Agree10 Disagree1

Well here we are again. Two shots on target from Arsenal and two goals.
Every sodding game it's the same.
Will we ever keep a clean sheet at home again??

Agree8 Disagree1

Jesus christ if that's true we are scrapping the bottom of the barrel now

Agree5 Disagree2

Oh God looks like grant Holt is on his way

Agree11 Disagree1

Grant holt why the f are we spending a penny to get a player in on loan when he can't even get into the wigan aide? absolute joke. and I thought it couldn't get any worst

Agree8 Disagree1

Its grant holt

Agree9 Disagree0

It's Grant Holt, no funds available so it's only a loan.
Before you go on about how low we have sunk remember its Lerner not Lambert who has the final say on transfers. Wigan still paying some of his wages, well done Lerner.

Agree5 Disagree3

I think I want to cry.

Agree10 Disagree4

Any player with Premier League experience will be ok in my opinion.

Agree3 Disagree7

You could do a lot worse than Grant Holt trust me

Agree8 Disagree6

If he scores goals I don't think any of us will care to much, can't see him starting to much tho

Agree6 Disagree2

Lets face facts we were never going to be in for anything other than a championship player or a prem player that is sat on the bench at best gone are the days when we will get anywhere near the top six and unless lerner sells up its going to be relegation sooner or later. bad times

Agree10 Disagree1

I just wish lerner would sell up. even doug ellis would spend some money if he was still the main man! this is seriously worryin

LERNER OUT NOW!

Agree5 Disagree8

Looks like the fat boy comes to town! Holt will put himself about and get space for others.
So Steer, Hoolihan, Holt, looks like PL is buying his old team. What a slap in the face for the Villa squad.
Could it be that PL is saving the pitance that SCROOGE is putting up for a "super buy?"
If Lerner is being that tight then again I state LERNER OUT.
Somebody else is stealing my objective.

Agree4 Disagree8

To be honest things are not as bad as they may appear. The defence is perfectly adequate when everyone is fit and Okore is going to be a great signing. We have a good bunch of forwards when they get the service. It is really only the midfield that needs sorting out and if that could be done then I for one believe we could easily challenge for the top 6 again. But that is the point - the midfield needs overhauling and Lambert either can't see it or Lerner will not provide the funds to do it. If he did, we would take off, I'm sure of it.

Agree3 Disagree9

Problem is, okore won't play for us again because by the time he's fit we will be in the championship and he is way too good to want to play in that amateur league. midfield terrible, worst in league, so why not sign grant holt?! (sarcasm, for those that didn't detect it. ) What on earth is going on, why another terrible striker who has scored 2 or 3 goals in 20 odd games for a championship side this season? there must be hundreds of midfielders that are better than the ones we currently have who would be available for a cheap deal or at least a loan, even the country boys managed a decent, cheap signing in jonas gutierrez who could have done a good job for us but it just seems like PL can't be bothered to have a proper look around for what we actually need! get him out, he lost the plot and his marbles a while back now

Agree5 Disagree3

No point looking around as Scrooge won't open his purse. PL is having to get whatever he can for as little as he can, and that means Holt on loan.
Let us give Holt a chance, he was electric at Norwich but Hughton changed the way they played and Holt was left on the fringes.
Not my preferred choice but in our situation I am going to give him a chance.
God knows we need any help we can get.
Lerner out.

Supermac

Agree4 Disagree1

Holt was a great player and leader and Norwich hav'nt replaced him, villa fans give him a chance his leadership skills will help your younger players. Good luck grant.

Agree6 Disagree3

I guess Holt suits the long ball football we play.

Finch

Agree6 Disagree4

Norwich fan in peace here. Wish we could have Holt back at Norwich - unfortunately we've got a bigger d!ck as manager than it seems Lambo has turned into. We thought he'd run out of Premiership ideas when he went to Villa, looks like we were right. Sorry for you guys, sorry for us too. Good luck Villans. OTBC.

Agree6 Disagree1

I think we should give holt a chance if we use him correctly off the bench I can see him scoring a few

Newcastle winger jonas gutierez looks set to sign for the web fingered lot Norwich City. Which will see Wes Hoolahan sign for villa on a 2 and half year deal by the end of the week, fees and the like will be discussed at Jed Steer's tribunal.
Villa are looking to wrap up both players for between 2. 5-3 million for both.

Heard on the grapevine there could be a signing announced after the game.

Not going to happen too much bad blood with pl and norwich. tbh don't raye hoolahan that highly anyway and hope its all a smokescreen

Agree6 Disagree1

I agree Norwich will not do business with us, I disagree with hoolahan he'd fit in to the villa well, but we need more than 1 attacking midfielder we need a good experienced centreback, a winger who can deliver a decent ball and a solid striker to cover benteke

Agree3 Disagree1

And Norwich have publicly said they will not do any kind of business with Villa as long as Lambert is manager

Agree4 Disagree1

He's not at Norwich, he's at Wigan.

Agree2 Disagree4

So where does Hoolahan play then?. try to keep up chap Holt left Norwich last summer Hoolahan is still under contract and Norwich Have said they will not deal with Aston Villa as long as Lambert is at VP
