Aston Villa looking at 26 year old Danny Simpson as competition for Matt Lowton at Right Back.
He got released from Newcastle so on a free, and was only on 10k a week at Newcastle due to never getting an improved contract since joining in 2010.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Looks like a good squad player but lowton is a lot better and he will keep Simpson out the team

He will probably want 1st team football week in week out

Agree10 Disagree1

Would be a good replacement for Alan "Mutton"

Agree6 Disagree3

Do we not have chris herd to cover in this position, I think left back is priorty.

Agree6 Disagree0

Would be a solid signing, bit of a thug player but I think Lambert would get that under control and on 10-15k a year would be ideal! Only as cover however (or cup run) as Matty Lowton is our main man!

Agree3 Disagree7

Don't think we need Simpson, he's got an ego he's not good enough to have.

It was only 12 months ago Simpson rejected 30k a week from Newcastle to extend his contract (if reports are to be believed) so I think he'd want more than 15k a week.

Yea will be hard for any player to dislodge lowton from the team, I think we should buy a versatile centre half who can play at rb.

Lowton for England!

So basically we are buying the Danish national team this summer!

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Christian Erickson next?

Agree8 Disagree3

What 2 players? I'm sure its a 11 a side game.

Agree7 Disagree1

Erickson would be amazing

but I highly doubt lambert will singh him

Nicklas Helenius has stated his desire to leave Danish club AaB, amidst reports that Aston Villa have agreed a fee for the striker.

Helenius, who has two caps for his country, scored 16 goals in 33 league games last season after netting 14 times in 2011/12.

The striker was voted Denmark's Player of the Year on UEFA's website, and is expected to fly in for a medical at Villa Park once the two clubs agree a fee. That is something that the player clearly wishes to happen

Viktor fischer is the winger we have agreed a fee for.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Fischer 1 of europes top prospects. a few reasons for not believing this story. 1. ajax have champions league football 2. he will cost a BOMB and finally he is a winger but we already signed tonev.

Agree7 Disagree4

Nearly every club in europe want him!

Agree5 Disagree1

Surely not?! He stated he was not interested in leaving Ajax, snubbing interest from Manchester United Milan et all not three months ago!

Agree4 Disagree0

If that's true that would be class

Agree3 Disagree0

AFC Ajax forward Viktor Fischer has revealed he is not thinking about leaving the Amsterdam Arena in the near future, tv reports.

Fischer, 18, has enjoyed a fantastic debut season with the Dutch Eredivisie giants in 2012-13.

The 2012 Danish Talent of the Year and 2012-13 AFC Ajax Talent of the Year is reportedly being monitored by the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.

Fischer’s team-mate and compatriot Christian Eriksen has also been linked with a summer move abroad.

However, Fischer is not ready to quit Ajax, and rightfully so.

Not going to happen, Manchester United and Chelsea tracking him and last month he quoted.

“I have a lot to learn in Amsterdam, ”

“I think I’m a wise guy. Only when you’re 25 do you show how good you really are.

“I have accomplished nothing here. It would be arrogant if I thought I was done here. ”

He will not be coming to Aston Villa.

Agree10 Disagree0

My sources believe our next target is the winger Leandro Bacuna.

Aston VIlla to resign ashley young from Manchester United after moyes tells him he's not in his plans for the year

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Unless this is a loan I can't see us paying the amount they would want (guessing 15+)

Agree6 Disagree1

Wont happen wages to big and man u won't let him go after just 1 season

Agree5 Disagree1

Haha good one! Going to take a pay cut too is he?

Agree5 Disagree1

Yeh, right! Like that's going to happen!

Agree3 Disagree1

Wages way too high for Lambert

Agree4 Disagree1

Again cannot see it. I find Belhanda quite a stretch of the imagination but Young is a non starter. The wages alone are going to be huge, on top of that he was a little on the 'flash' side when we had him, with little to prove now he is not a Lambert signing.

We will likely only add to Tonev with Okore, Creswell, that Danish CF, Murphy and one other player maybe a couple of very young obscure players after that to fill the squad up.

Agree4 Disagree1

No chance.
Now injury prone and on £100k a week.
Include that to a minimum £10m transfer fee Aston Villa are not interested.
Nor are they interested in James Milner or Gareth Barry before anyone else suggests they are.

Agree4 Disagree1

Two actually, can't see it happening, if it is to happen I think he's more likely to join either Spurs or Arsenal.

Agree3 Disagree1

Noway he left villa when he was needed and now he is a surprise target I doubt this very much he is not good enough for us now let him rot at utd where he wanted to be up the villa

Agree4 Disagree4

He has been at united for 2 seasons not one

Agree5 Disagree1

It's been two seasons

Agree4 Disagree1

Id be happy to have him back but can't see it happening

Agree5 Disagree3

Leandro Bacuna is our next new signing.

Agree2 Disagree1

Has someone just said he is not good enough for us now?

A fully fit Ashley Young would be one of the first names on our team sheet. Just imagine his distribution to Benteke and Weimann

Agree3 Disagree2

Look youngs good gabby is better now and we have signed tonev

Why sign him now

Agree3 Disagree1

I never rated him as a player he is rubbish he can't go past players. can't tackle. he dives for fun glad he left us. he would be rotting on our bench getting paid silly money for nothing he wouldn't get into our team. if he signed for villa who would be dropped? I say no one because he is no better than what we have already fact up the villa

Agree1 Disagree5

Should buy briddcutt for 2 mil and ros on loam

Agree2 Disagree0

Who ever just said Gabby is better than Young, mate your clueless!

Most on here in January were saying we should get rid of Gabby because he was useless an finished. Gabby is a good player and is effective when he's on form, but he's not half the player Young is.

An Young will not be coming back

>Scg87

Agree4 Disagree0

Sorry ill rephrase my words

Gabby will be better than young

bacuna will be better than young

also look at tonev he is the new hitzelspurger. hopefully

Morning papers indicae that we have had a £4m bid accepted for Jores Okore

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Hopefully a attacking midfeilder defensive midfeilder and left back to be added to!

Agree7 Disagree2

He is travelling to Birmingham now for a medical - official!

Agree7 Disagree3

Apology to Mr and Helenius, I said yesterday I thought he played like Crouch, I was wrong, I've watched him again on Youtube and I'll change my medication! I now believe Pl "is" outstanding, I've supported AVFC for 40 years, good & bad, in the last week I've felt fustrated by all the posts wanting Benhalda, I could'nt work out how he would benefit the team, so now he's clearly not coming, instead PL is buying someone who appears to be a perfect fit into the line up, the likes of Terry, Ferdinand & other big C/Hs are going to struggle with this player, mark my words.

Agree7 Disagree0

Its times like this that you have to tip your hat to the organisation that Lambert has installed at Villa.

Seems to be a real sense of direction in that he wants to get new players in asap in order for them to acclimatise at the club and also bringing in young hungry players with international experience.

Loving the momentum from the last third of the season past and the fact that we are not dicking around ala MON days with transfers.

Agree6 Disagree0

Who says Bellhanda Isn't coming it takes a while to sign a player you know so stop expecting everything to happen at once
