Reports saying we admire Hourihane and Bree but know there's prem interest so are weighing up a bid, why don't we just put bids in? Their both out of contract end of the year, jump in now and start the ball rolling! Also targeting tom cairney according to the mail

Smudge where have you got the word on the Lansbury deal done. All I have read is that there is a problem.
I want it done but confirmation is vital

Living in Notts I can tell you it's local news that the player wants the villa move I can only see it being a case of when will he sign not if.

I have read that Lansbury wants to move to Villa and its a done deal

Benteke is in the past, he's not the type of forward bruce goes for, he's too lazy, won't track back and not mobile enough, bruce likes a striker in the mould of kodgia, dynamic and with pace, big ben done us proud, and i think he'd score lots for us, but the papers reported we hooted up when the boro wanted 12 million for jordan rhodes, big ben will command at least 25 million, the doctor won't sanction that, unless-he's making a statement of intent, you never know, i still think bruce will try and include mccormack in a deal for a striker,29 days of nervous excitement to go!

Oops, meant 19 days, see, its happening already!

Not mobile enough, you sound like the commentators when none of them used to know anything about him, have you got short term memory? I agree his in the past and there's relatively no chance of us signing him, that however don't make him any less of a player.

12 Jan 2017 19:51:11
I never meant he was less of a player, what i meant was he was great for us when we played to his strengths, but a few times i saw him play he drifted in and out of the game, didn't really go looking, maybe the manager told him not to, in the championship i said i think he'd score lots for us.

i just think that being a big unit, i think he could have given the defenders a few more knocks and bruises to remind them he was about that's all;he's a great target man, but with the new trends in football that's not enough, strikers need to punch holes in defences to warrant close attention of defenders creating the space to exploit, you know that, but i'm not saying he didn't carry us to safety for the time he was here.

for that i'll always be thankful, but i just think bruce wants not to rely on one player as a focal point, he wants attack on many fronts so the opposition get no rest, your hard audience chrisAVFC!

I have to say class of 82 that Bruce would jump at the chance but I agree it will never happen. By the way Benteke probably has more pace than Kodjia " I have watched both on many occasions" and he is just as mobile. He's actually unplayable when the system suites his style hence his " beast" tag!

Devlins, i bow to your knowledge sir, i must have caught him on his off day! but wherever he goes, good luck to him, just hopefully not to any teams near the B6 neck of the woods!

I remember him taking the ball on the half way line against Crystal Palace, running the whole half keeping defenders on the back foot and burying it when he got to the box, and then there's the over head kick against Norwich.

It was only clueless pundits who didn't know anything about him who labelled him the typical big man. He was just as good if not better with the ball at his feet than in the air.
