Villa will re-enter the race to sign Morgan Amalfitano from Marseille, Stephen Ireland may be moved on to allow the transfer. {Ed007's Note - He has asked to leave Marseille because they did not reach the CL, I can't see AV being a great lure to him at present.}

James Collins and Richard Dunne are both set to leave Villa. Collins is set to join Reading for a sum of £3million while Dunne is set to rejoin Martin O'Neill at Sunderland for £2million.

Lambert should not sell Dunne, the man is pure class

Dunne is slow and gets caught out cause he never reads the game, he just trys to react to players attacking him with more pace than he has.

Get rid of both of them and hutton and warnock bring 2 defenders in and play Clark and lichaj at the back maybe even herd

Dunne is past it, let him go. Collins was class under MON, throwing himself of every shot and into every tackle, would be interesting if Lambertcould get the best out of him again. Need a strong def with top league experience to partner him, a player of mellberg/laursen ilk would be best. Don't want youngsters with no experience at central def, left/right back poss, but not cent def

Villa are set to make a £2million bid for Leicester city defender Sean St Ledger, Villa are also set to loan Stephen Ireland to Glasgow Celtic with an option to buy him in January.

Wes Hoolahan is going to be brought in to replace him from Norwich City for a sum of £3million. Also Villa have finally made £5million bid for Grant Holt from Norwich aswell, also Kyle Naughton is on Lambert's radar to bring him from Tottenham.

Another thing to mention Sunderland are set to make a £2million bid for left back Stephen Warnock.

Hi Villa fans, sorry if this rumour has been posted already, i've read down your forum quite a bit and not seen it but obviosuly you've had lots to talk about recently so maybe it's further down.
I know that Rob Green has been a Villa target once or twice before and now with Given getting on and maybe moving on, plus the Scammers likely to sign Jaaskelainen, it is very likely this summer he ends up with you.
I can't name who this comes from but it is a player. Good luck with the new manager.
