Aston Villa are linked with 2 players in january. 1 apparently worse kept secret, Sam Johnstone. and the other Carl Jenkinson on loan. what do you think people?

Sam Johnstone : Is he any better than what Villa already has (Gollini) . Sam has almost same experience as Gollini but in lower leagues. Both are almost same to be fair. then why go and get a same type of player?
Carl Jenkinson: yes, much better than hutton. Only cocern is his injuries.

Agree with indianvilla, Johnstone would only be there to push Gollini for the starting spot, it's a shame he'd Steer got injured because by all accounts he was brilliant for Huddersfield last season and he could of really challenged Gollini and brought the best out the two!
Would love to see jenkinson, proper right back who can defend first and foremost, but can also get forward and put a ball in! Give us a centre back and the defence is looking solid for the rest of the season!

Seems to be quite a few names linked with us and as we approach Xmas the list will get longer.
For me, we need 2 midfielders above anything else. One creative and one to help out Jedinak who was our best player again over the 90 minutes yesterday.
Westwood and Gardener both not good enough.
A win at Norwich and its lift off. And then the list of those wanting to join will be a mile long.

Very true Andy, don't get me wrong McCarthy would be a brilliant buy but I think prem clubs will snap him up, however there will be quality players available if we keep winning games and climbing!

Its ok Chris, McCarthy would be good signing . But at this point I think that the press will throw loads of names about.
I said week's ago that IMO if we could manage to keep in touch with the playoffs then we would be able to attract top players in January. This will be difficult to achieve. We're not playing particularly well and teams will try to park the bus against us.
Luckily, we have a run of games that we should be able to pick up a few wins from. A win at Norwich would be massive result . Massive.
I'll e there biting my nails again and up for work at 6 on Wednesday. Madness at my age but I love it .

Just finished watching the highlight show, if we are getting jenkinson and Johnstone then happy days but as you said we need two quality midfielders, for the attacking one I would be more than happy with Tom ince (7mil), Daniel Johnson (5mil) or will Hughes (7mil) they are all smashing it at this level and won't need time to settle!

In all honesty I thought the same but after having a look he really is doing well in a very poor team, he would offer miles more than Gardner and Westwood! Shame Lambert ruined what was one of the most promising youth teams you'll see.

Daniel Johnson plays like a villa youth academy player, pace guile and does it in style. Now he is a player for the future, if tony wants to take us to the top i'd back johnson to be starting our first champions league game in a few years.

I just want to make a comment about the Newcastle Utd game. i am in the away scheme so will go but how fair is it that sky have all the control. who makes these decisions to put the game on a monday night? Its not fair on fans traveling 4 hours on a monday they know people have work. its a disgrace, sky are ruining football! Sorry to be negative but what are peoples thoughts on this?

I totally agree. I'm in the same boat as you. Up at 5 the next morning its crazy . Sky don't give a monkeys .

If more people were to tell Sky to get stuffed they would have to reconsider what they do and the prices.
The more popular your club the more you have to suffer.
The chance of getting them to rearrange their schedule is unlikely. Let's return to 3pm on Saturdays.
Even the transfer market is affected by Sky, without the input cash fees would be much less and players wage demands would have to be less.
I blew sky out some time back and bt sport and I am £90 a month better off.
They tried to get me to take out an agreement to reduce my fee for 3 months by 50% then called with a better offer. I said no and have not missed Sky.

Well I have never had Sky and I never will. 2 reasons for this:
I won't line Murdoch's pockets and I hate the constant and massively irritating adverts.
