It all gets a bit emotional immediately after a defeat to local rivals, so as the dust settles and heads are a bit clearer my current thinking. The owners are extremely unlikely to change the management. They did not make their money overnight but through clever business accumen over a period of time, this approach in my opinion will be their approach. So Deano stays. So if the ball is in his court what can he do. Firstly he can stop blaming everyone except him self this serves no purpose whatsoever other than alienate, fans, players and referees. He needs to take a good hard look at his tactics. The current squad with the obvious exceptions made the playoffs last year so they must have something, he needs to unlock whatever previously worked, which obviously he is not doing at the moment. In Deans defence i think he has made a start with the massive task of rebuilding. Yesterday was not good enough and whilst i appreciate that it is stating the obvious, it was an improvement on Brentford. On most of the stats we were ahead except the most important one i accept that but we did have chances. I think Mings, Hause, Kalanic, Chester and Tz can become a reasonably reliable defence. Jack and Mcginn in midfield Green and Tammy upfront. After this Deano needs to step up and get the best out of what's left. This is where the manager needs to earn his money. So on the basis of my earlier comment regarding tbe managers position and my claret and blue tinted glasses i would like to adopt a more positive approach. It seems that Dean is a good guy and "one of our own" and could eventually be one of our favourites however he has got to step up to the plate, he has got to change things for the better soon or any goodwill and patience from the fans will vanish, crowds will dwindle and when it starts to hit financially then the owners commercial heads will kick in and Deano will be another managerial casualty.

Scotcafu, at least we agree that Deano has a massive rebuild to do . As you say these owners are not the type to panic . They will be prepared to give Deano, the backing he will need . Also as you say, when we get everybody back, we could have the makings of a decent defence . His biggest problem is that midfield, with Jack back, he will give us the flair, The rest is for him to sort out, be it with players already tried, or as you suggested maybe U23s. We know that Tammy, will score the goals if he’s given the service . Deanos problem is fitting in a system . that will provide Tammy with that service .
Iv defended Deano, because he’s having to use what he’s got . When he’s got in the players he wants, I think everybody will be happy .

Dave and Scotty, two very good posts, and between them I think lies the answer.
To be honest I am looking forward to a good clear out and a productive Summer window.

Just had my season ticket reminder to buy early for the discount. I buy 4 tickets me my son and two grandkids, i will probably do it, however probably like many others are apprehensive to invest based on what's currently being served up. The prices are really good for premiership football, so we can forget that, they are good value for attacking football with flair and excitement absolutely poor value for what's being served up at the moment. So Deano for many like me you have a very small window to woo us and get us to part with our hard earned cash. I really hope i am parting with my money by the April deadline.
