I am very confident Deano has seen our defensive frailties and will address them as soon as he is able to, our defence is very poor at the moment, but I must say Nyland was very shocking tonight.
I admit I have defended him over the last few weeks and felt he needed time to settle, tonight was dreadful and I was shocked at his decision making and positioning.
It was a great game to watch and for the neutrals, but not good for the nerves of us Villa fans, especially at my age.
I wonder if Deano will give Bunn a couple of games just to steady the ship a bit and to take a bit of pressure of Nyland until January window.
Going forward we are looking very good, and our overall play is much better, we are creating and scoring.
Another lesson tonight though, if you are direct and speculate you will eventually get rewards, forests forth goal is testimony to that.

Dave I said I would give nyland the benefit of the doubt before commenting on if he is good enough,
But I'm still not convinced about him especially after last night,
His positioning was very poor and I think a new goalie is in order,
On the game itself it was breathtaking to watch and forest deserved to get the draw.
Our defence needs surgery but up top we look very good.
2nd highest scorers behind the baggies.
Keep in touch till Christmas then bring in a couple of defenders and we are sorted.
Very impressed with our style of football and the sprit in the squad and onwards and upwards.

You can say any keeper who let's in 5 goals has had a bad night and Nyland certainly did. A good keeper between the sticks is essential for any successful team, Have we got one? I'm not so sure.

No to Steer. His games before we bought Nyland showed him to be just as shaky and didn't make up for it with decent saves either.
If we're going to change we need someone who can command the area and come out to claim it. Would happily swap wonder/ reaction saves for consistency.
I think the biggest issue is over-committing going forwards. Nyland made one big mistake for their equaliser but we still conceded 4 others by not doing the basics in defence so can't lump the blame on him.

Replacing a goalkeeper is a tricky game if you ask me, whoever you have in goal will inevitably make errors as do all players. The problem is that if a keeper makes an error it usually results in a goal so fans are far more aware of them and they are often blamed for bad results, where with other players mistakes can quickly be forgotten if noticed at all.

Nyland could turn out to be a very good keeper in the future but is he a very good keeper at the moment is the big question. If he's not but he does still have the potential to develop should we stick with him giving him the chance to learn from his mistakes as we go along by doing so? Also to consider is that we are all already aware of our defensive frailties which is not going to help make his job any easier nor will it give him a chance to shine by reducing his chances of a clean sheet.

It's a tough call to make if you ask me and a decision I am happy to leave to others, after all I don't get paid for making such big calls. UTV.
