After the QPR result, Villa cannot now achieve the 83 points of last season. More depressingly, over the past 5 seasons the teams finishing sixth have scored 75, 80,74, 78 and 72 points i. e. an average of 75.8 points. Villa in theory can now only reach a maximum of 81 points if NO MORE losses. Can I see that happening with the current defence? NO - particularly given that 4 of the next 8 matches BEFORE Xmas are away to Derby, MBoro, Baggies and Leeds interspersed with the 4 home matches against Bolton, Brum, Forest, Stoke. Hope to be proved wrong but think the damage was done by not getting rid of Bruce much earlier.

I think we are resigned to another season in the championship. The team are not good enough. Far too fragile at the back. keeper not good enough. People say we have a great forward line, if that is the case where have they been this season? mid field - how many of our mid field would get into championship top 6 teams - Mcginn +? i do not include Jack as a mid field player as I think he is a number 10, however good number 10s have goals in them (Sheringham, York, Bergkamp) Jack does not have that in his locker at present ans he is running out of time for him to have potential. why do other top Championship teams look quicker than us, fitter than us, defend as a unit better than us.
