Putting aside Lerner's part in this shambles
We are 18 months in to Lambert's reign and we pass the ball worse than we did under Mcleish
The players are poor but the coaching is worse

Can't agree more Mendax, we are awful! But what is the answer? I took a lot negative comments about suggesting that Holloway would do a job, but is really think we need some passion. AGD

I totally agree with you, we seem to have less a hold of the games these days we get outplayed by everyone. We have no control over any of the game at any time and I find it hard to predict where the next win is, as it seems most our wins are very lucky (I. e no passing move and a good finish, it is just a long ball yes we have become a long ball team ).

I am coming to the conclusion that pl has become obssed by the whole trusting in youth players. You can trust in young players is they have the ability, DESIRE and passion ( incoming play Gary Gardner, I think he Actuly cares and would leave everything on the pitch any he can pick a pass ) ie ross Barkley, berhanio, wilshire but non of the young players we have are any good.

In general please signing have been very poor exception benteke and Lowton I suppose 2 out of 17 players (2/17) isn't a bad hit rate for signing good players (I'm joking ).

I was all for lambert but unless we change formation change the starting players, change the tactics from counter attacking to try and controlling the game abit more so we are not defending for 90 mins which leads to our low possession in games and inevitably conceding due to the prolonged pressure. ( don't say possession means nothing, you look at stats across every league in the world and the team with more possession comes out on top more times than the team with Lower possession)

We are currently the lowest scoring team at home out of all 92 teams in the football league. And out of the last 47 games at home we have only won 11 games

Anyway I feel this is the last transfer window for lambert if the team does not change.

But I really think (spelling correction). AGD

{Ed007's Note - Don't worry about spelling (or grammar) AGD, as long as your post is legible and not in text speak it's fine. We don't post anything slagging spelling/grammar either as it can discourage people from posting, it's not an English literature site and we're all capable of the odd typo.}

Hi all.

This really is all very depressing reading, and I can`t add anything too what has been said.
It is obvious how passionate we all are about our team, but enough is enough.
None of us mind loosing a game of football here and there, but at least put up a fight, to be totally humiliated by teams that are not great themselves is shameful.

The worrying thing to me is that some of the teams below us are far more organised than us, and can hold the ball and pass it.

Our 27% possession yesterday "AT HOME" was in reality 20% because the 7% the ball was in the air.

As supporters we are not persons and can see where the problems are, for gods sake Lambert listen to what Villa fans are saying and change things a bit.

Do what Ron Saunders did make us hard to beat, If we have the ball nobody can hurt us.

Hard as nails shin kicker C/H required, and a couple of destructive full backs wouldn't hurt, to frighten the opposition.
Just football is not going to get us out of the situation that we are in at present.
Same is needed in the middle of the park.
Benteke needs to get his finger out and take the knocks that his role expects.
Football alone will not get us out of the ----, skill is alright in its place but we need results at any cost.

7.) 29 Dec 2013
I think the hate on benteke needs to be cooled down abit, he overachieved last season and I very much doubt he will get to the same heights again.

8.) 29 Dec 2013
Benteke started this season in the same way he finished last. Then he got 2 injuries and was rushed back
I can't believe people are slating the guy
He should have been allowed to recuperate fully and then brought back
A fully fit Benteke is a class act

9.) 29 Dec 2013
Not sure I agree with you about Benteke villabean.

I think with good supporting players and service he is a 20+ goal a season player, he has quality.

He needs someone who he can play off, someone like a Gary Shaw or a Brian Little, then we would see him flourish once more.

That is the reason I keep harping on about Helenius.

Hi Dave, Now you are talking footballers that are legends at VP. Both YOUNG and hungry. What we could do with them in the side.
Oh dear I might spill my cocoa if I am not careful.
In those days we had defenders who took no prisoners. Our current lot would invite em home to take afternoon tea!

11.) 29 Dec 2013
Hi.
Not sure who you are, but yeh great villa players.

12.) 29 Dec 2013
Villadave, in respect to benteke I hope he turns out to be 20+ season man but I think everyone should just cool the hate and expectation being placed on benteke.

13.) 29 Dec 2013
+ we are placing to much on the return of benteke

14.) 30 Dec 2013
Hi Villabean.

I agree with the hate thing its not good.

I think he is great and wish people would lay off him.

Hope he is with us long term, but can`t see it personally.

A top quality player
