Two board members have resigned! Could it be the start of a takeover? I'm guessing no, they resigned as they have had a difference of opinion over finances for next season. Thoughts anyone?

I think this almost certainly means there will be no cash invested from Lerner an any new players will have to be funded via player sales, cannot be anything else really can it.

Steve Hollis is involved in extensive negotiations in relation to the sale of the club. Fingers crossed.

The problem is why would they resign if the potential new owners were any good. I'm hoping that they bought them to the table, and their job is done . But in doesn't sound like they left happy .

The thing for me is that Brian Little is still there. I think if it was that bad he would of gone too.

Just heard Bernstein's resignation letter and it seems he resigned because the recommendations made by the football board following the investigation weren't accepted by Lerner and Hollis. I just don't see the point in bringing in the football board and doing the investigation if they won't accept how to change the things that have gone wrong. Let's just hope that this takeover happens and it happens soon.

Could moyes already have the job if the takeover goes through and that's why he hasn't came in yet as it all hinges on the takeover?

You are kidding yourself Brookers. Little is there as an advisor to the board. These guys were on the board and it has taken them just a few months (in Bernstein's case, make that weeks) to decide that they cannot work with Lerner
We are absolutely screwed mate. What 1/ 2 decent manager is going to jump aboard this sinking ship? (we can forget Moyes)
This is dreadful news, not because I give a stuff about two millionaires leaving us. But because their leaving us suggests something far more sinister at owner level.

Just read a quote from King which confirms my suspicions
'Progress has stalled. It is clear that a sale of the club to a new owner must be brought about as soon as possible "
Let's prepare for League 1.

Sorry Mendax but can't agree that we're doomed until I see what's happening with the supposed sale. To me the man who has done the most to put things right is Hollis and he's still there. Apparently Bernie and King wanted a quick managerial appointment and when it didn't happen it seems have spat their dummies out. Things will hopefully become clearer, and better, in the next few days.

Mendax I hope you're wrong but I fear that you're right. I can't see anyone looking to buy the club as it stands now and randy is certainly not going to invest in the summer. Why would anyone agree to the price that Lerner has set for a club that needs so much investment. It's going to be a nerve racking few weeks I fear. I just hope that we can get shot of Lerner and not go the way of Portsmouth. Even if we have to spend two or three years as a championship club it may allow us to breed a new mindset in our players that hard work is still the basis for success but Lerner has shown he's not the right man for this club anymore.

As always on these things (when someone has a more optimistic outlook than me) I really hope you are right mate.
