Gary Gardner may apparently be refused a new contract offer. What is Lambert doing!?

The fact Lambert said its difficult for him to get in the side is comical. I appreciate KEA and Sylla have their fans but neither for me have given any standout performances recently to warrant being picked ahead of Gardner.

I accept the lad has had a real bad time of it with injuries over the last few years, but he can do no worse then KEA and Sylla who are assumably ahead of him in the pecking order. If he walks out the door at the end of the season, then it is further proof of Lamberts managerial inability to let a ball playing midfielder leaves for free

If we let Gary Gardner to it will be one of the worst decision ever and will come back to haunt us. He is a quality player with a excellent future. If he is allowed to leave Lambert needs to be questioned on why he has let such a talented player leave the football club.

We have a squad of players that have us 10th in the league now! We can play better then we do but is not being safe the first priority? and then once reaching there I hope we use the reminder of the season to play in a way which will have us prepared better for next season with a few quality additions!
so in a whole no I do not like the way we play and no we might not finish tenth but at least then Lambert will see what he needs for the next season and how we want our club to play!

Gardner is twice the player Sylla will ever be and all he needs is chance to prove himself, I pray lambert gives him that and then there is no doubt he will get a contract!

A good manager would have seen what was required after 1 season, so why waste what little money we have on poor players, 2 good buys better then 4 poor, I don't think PL can handle skilful players, hence holt on loan

It has all been about finances at villa, its not okay to spend blindly which we have learn t and it would be pretty silly to add more high wages on wage bill that is high already, pl has done a brilliant job and will do with more money.
This summer will show how pl will do, he is handling bertrand okay and I am sure he will be able to handle others brilliantly as well as he has gained respect of the group he has assembled! I am still holding hope as he has not been given tolls which he will get this summer to add as long as he gets rid of average high earners! he is building a squad and not a team like oneil did!

Agree with rbutler regarding confusion over why gary gardner should have a place in our XI. how has he ever proven he is better than what we have? surely he would have been given more than 1 game at a time if he was good enough. i'm not saying that KEA and sylla are necessarily better footballers they just clearly have the know-how required whereas gardner has yet to prove anything at all sorry.

For anyone to suggest that KEA or Sylla have the 'know how' did make me laugh.

The fact Gardner hasn't played a lot over the last few years has simply been down to injury more then PL not selecting him.

He deserves the chance to prove he is good enough and have the 'know how' as you put it

Gardner is a diffrent player to kea and sylla, is not gardner more of a creator then a defender and if so would we not leak more goals? I would get to the saftey mark and then throw him in to see what he can do!

The loan will not be of much use to gardner, been to about 5 different clubs on loan and hasn't made any real progression in 5 years, why everyone wants him in the squad truly befuddles I have to say.
