Just herd the fischer deal is a big big possibility. The player sees villa as the ideal club to move to to take his game to the next level and move into the epl. Looking around the 8 million mark and it will be a deadline day deal to stir up the fans. Hope this one comes off as the lad looks quality.

Villa midfield is so bad ( Gary Gardner would add so much more. why is PL ignoring him for a bunch of cheap players, you may get 1 or 2 good players cheap but not 6!villa don't no how to play at home, class dose not come cheap better to play the some of the ngen players

If we don't get some real creativity then we are looking at another relegation fight. we were terrible in the first half and we never play well at home so disappointing after arsenal. our midfield is awful bar delph couldn't get a goal or assist between them and they don't have a clue what to with the ball when in possesion also weimann is a joke get him out and try tonev or bacuna in his position or buy someone DECENT to replace him. gabby has 1 good game every dozen games nowhere near good enough and even tekkers gets on my nerves with his poor touches and flick-ons although if it wasnt for him we would finish rock bottom and don't get me started on vlaar.

Weiman isn't bad he just had 1 bad game

No they weren't tired that's no excuse we jus don't have any midfield quality to unlock defences. its all good trying as hard as we do but if we don't possess any composure creativity or flair then another relegation battle looms no doubt.

Weimann IS bad, even when he has a good game he's still awful, can't pass, dribble or shoot has absolutely zilch composure and is generally just a headless chicken for 90 mins, definitely our worst player along with vlaar.

Dont know why some fans are slating the team for, when we got a great result against Arsenal, were unlucky to come away with nothing against Chelsea and dominated the second half against Liverpool.
We have had one of the hardest starts to the seasons compared to any other teams two away matches against two of the top four.
It is way to early to start making judgements on the team and in my eyes I can see we are much much improved from last year and I think we could finish top half with a bit of luck an one more quality signing.

Weiman is not a bad player at all! He is still young and has a lot of potential. Plus if u give him a half chance he will score. If anything he is our most clinical finisher along with benteke

I am amazed at all the rats already jumping ship! 3 top teams, 3 pts. Lambert said that he would have taken that before the start of the season.

WE all know that a midfield leader is needed and a ball holder to keep keep us in the game. Hopefully Lambert has this in hand.

But slagging off Weimann is out of order. Last season he scored some great goals that helped us to stay up.

Behave yourselves show some respect and support the team.

I can't believe some of the bull I'm reading!

Weimann IMO is not a great finisher by any means but never the less he's a talent player who works his ass off. He was outstanding for us last season an I have no doubt he's gunna play a big part in this season.

With a front 3 of benteke gabby an weimann we will create an score goals this season, scoring goals will not be a problem, keeping clean sheets is the problem an will continue to be the problem if we don't get a proper DM

An any talk of us fighting relegation is beyond stupid!
I'm not even gunna entertain any argument why someone would say we're gunna be fighting relegation again. Atleast wait until we play Newcastle an Norwich before you make that judgment.

Agree with you scg87. We definitely need somebody to cover the defence. Our holding midfielder is westwood, he likes to sit in front of the back four and pass the ball around, but the only problem there is, he's not very good at defending, he won't get stuck in to a tackle and he won't hold people off the ball. We do need somebody big and strong to cover the back four.

Now here's my opinion, it might sound stupid to some people, but I would see how good ron vlaar would be as the DCM! He hasn't got the greatest positioning as a CB and for me he's the weak link back there. Look at arsenals goal against us, we only had 3 defenders and he ran into arsenals half to make a tackle! We all know he likes to go on spontaneous attacks and likes a shot, he got away with it before but he won't in the premier league, at least not as a cb. So why not give him that freedom to sit in front of the back 4, that way he can do the attacking part as well as provide some steel in midfield! Some may disagree but I certainly feel that would be a fantastic position for him, and if I was paul lambert i'd be giving it a go tomorrow night!

It certainly is a cost-effective way for us try a proper dcm, imagine we spend 8m on someone to play there who turns out rubbish when we could spend nothing and try vlaar maybe even clark in there. one things for sure, this role MUST be filled by someone who is defensively sound and equally as adept at moving forward and linking up play so great suggestion ethAVFC.
