Alan Hutton is probably one of the worst footballers I have ever seen and he has the audacity to break up his move over personal terms you could have got yourself a nice suntan and sold timeshares you and bannan Ireland are greedy.. I've got nothing against given or bent but it would be nice to ship them out for their sake aswell and while there at it take clueless Faulkner with them he's got the capabilities to be the next Tory leader up the villa

1.) 06 Aug 2013
What did hutton do to you? Is Mrs. Villamurf now Mrs. Hutton?

2.) 06 Aug 2013
I have to say I find it a little strange that people are so vociferous with their "greedy" attacks on the likes of Hutton and Bannan
When Benteke was looking like he could go to Tottenham I was slaughtered for suggesting he should be forced to honour his contract
It was explained to me, quite vehemently, that if I was offered more money in a different job, I would be off as well (not true by the way)and it was perfectly acceptable for Benteke to want to go if that was the case
Using that logic, why on earth would you expect a player to take a drop to move from a club?
You can't havfe it both ways guys

3.) 06 Aug 2013
Hi Mendax.

I have to say, Benteke is a completely different kettle of fish compared to Hutton and Bannan.

Benteke has given us a different dimension as to the way we play and also a dependable target man.
Hutton and bannan have given us nothing.
Hutton is an aggressive thug, and Bannan although he can create the odd chance here and there is not good enough in our system.

If they are as good as they think they are, move on and prove it, and if it works for them fair play, they prosper.

I would suggest they both depart, man up and rekindle their footballing styles elsewhere.

Is mrs villa Murf was now mrs Hutton she would be facing a divorce

5.) 07 Aug 2013
The thing is benteke is a good player

Me

6.) 07 Aug 2013
Sorry Dave, I think we are at cross purposes. You are bringing football ability into it. The point I am making is that Benteke was defended on purely economic logic, yet Bannan and Hutton are attacked for applying same said logic. When people were telling me I would move if offered more money in another position, there was no caveat that said "assuming you are actually good at the job"

7.) 07 Aug 2013
PL and villa have been great at signing players this summer but when it comes to selling they are hugely to blame, outcasting the players and letting the world know that they will not feature in the team and then expecting clubs to pay reasonable money for a player they know the club doesn't want was foolish. does anyone have any idea how much of a loss villa would suffer to cancel some of these ridiculous contracts? surely there couldn't be many years on the hutton/ireland/bannan/stevens contracts?

8.) 07 Aug 2013
The difference is benteke would cost 25 million whereas, Hutton costs £2. 50

9.) 07 Aug 2013
Hutton was quoted as saying since signing for villa it's been a nightmare then surely given the opportunity he should have left oh I forgot he's short of a few quid I agree with mendax about bentekes loyalty but the point is he did more in one season than the all the greedy b------s put together who will quite happily sit out there contracts wish I had a job like that what a nightmare!

10.) 07 Aug 2013
I think their being attacked on their ability and lack of effort, rightly so. If I got paid that much money to do an awful job for my employer I'd expect criticism too.

11.) 07 Aug 2013
At the end of the day why would anyone leave a job to a lower paid and lower standard one? even bannan whos probs on 20k a week, if he went to championship on 10k, that's half his wages gone! sure its greedy but they are technically working for their living. wouldn't be surprised if we only see fonz, hutton and bent leave out of the 'bomb squad'

12.) 07 Aug 2013
Agree with the above comment, but on the other hand, why don't footballers actually want to play football anymore? If I was sitting on the bench for 20k a week and was offered the chance to play week in week out for 10k a week, i'd take it. I just don't understand how people can be cheeky enough to have one of the best payed jobs in the world and still want more. the majority of people in the world are on an average wage at best which is just enough for an alright house and car and a lot of people can't even afford to eat, while these boys have mansions and bugatti's and its still not enough for them. And considering half of their wages come out of the pockets of the people with no money that pay for season tickets and a whole lot of merchandise I find it ridiculous!

13.) 07 Aug 2013
Fonz is better than bowery, end ov.

14.) 07 Aug 2013
I think players would want to move on for lesser wages, because of career longevity. If you are seen to be acting like a mercenary over a year or two on a contract this would not bode well with future employers and so may effect future employment

15.) 07 Aug 2013
I for 1 cetainly agree with ethAVFC. incredibly somebody actually disagreed would love to know why?

16.) 07 Aug 2013
Fonz is NOT better than bowery he is a total waste of time and space

17.) 08 Aug 2013
Give over mate. Clubs don't gove a monkeys about whether a player is a mercenary or not as long as he is their mercenary and is doing the business on the pitch
Benteke has done a number on us and we are all celebrating his stay (I include myself in that)
Suarez has demonstrated on a regular basis that he is problem child and a nutter to boot and Arsenal are tripping over themselves to sign the guy.
The norms of everyday employment just do not apply to football

18.) 08 Aug 2013
With the limited ability they have, do you honestly think they will ever have the chance to earn the kind of money they are on now?
They are on the downslope careerwise. They know, you know it and their agent definitely knows it
Whether they have career longevity or not will not have anything to do with them effectively honouring a contract they already have
It's not their fault at the end of the day.
It was Alex McLeish who thought Hutton was worth the fee and the contract he ultimately signed

19.) 08 Aug 2013
What we seem to be doing here is formulating arguments for us to get what we want ie rid of the likes of Bannan, Hutton and the like
Those arguments have no resonance with the players themselves

20.) 08 Aug 2013
Thanks, also not sure why somebody would disagree. People seem to confuse it with average people, yes somebody earning just enough to feed their family would not take a job that pays less because they could not afford to, but when these dopes are being payed ridiculous money that they can't possibly spend why do they always want more? They get to do the thing we love for a living, without having to work, and they get payed insane money. While i'm not one of these people that thinks footballers are overpaid, since it is a very popular sport that generates a whole lot of income, I do think that some of these lads should be grateful for what they've got, and to take bannan as an example, he should just be grateful to earn 10k a week for the quality of football he plays.

21.) 08 Aug 2013
So if a player isn't in the first team he isn't playing football, what tosh. they train every day as do the first teamers they will play reserve matches once or twice a week as do the first teamers. sitting on the bench occassionaly and playing football all week for 20k sounds like a good number to me. I for one do not blame the players they have committed their life to the sport from an early age 8 or 9 missed out on a normal upbringing in order to be committed to the sport. now they find they are not good enough anymore they are bound to stay and take the money. don't blame them blame whoever signed them for the monies they are on. especially hutton who should never be in the epl but your manager of the time thought he was worth it, could you imagine hutton saying "o don't pay me that much I am not worth it" no and neither could i. in their position you would all do the same.

22.) 08 Aug 2013
Dave you are joking right? how can u feel sorry for these muppets? I would play footy as my job for mininum wage as I enjoy it that much, they are very greedy, these boys are so lucky to be playing footy for a living earning 10-20k a week especially the awful effort and quality they put in and you think they have it hard?joke of the century seriously

23.) 08 Aug 2013
At which point did I say I feel sorry for anybody read the post buddy read the post. I said as perhaps you have just done, that if it was me I would do the same as we all would

dave

24.) 08 Aug 2013
Dave, the reason they are in the game is to play football at the highest level, not to train with 19 year olds in the eyes of nobody other than a youth team manager. Are you seriously suggesting they get a kick out of having a casual kick around with some kids while their mates are playing professional matches every weekend in front of 10's of thousands of people? Why do you think they started at the age of 8 or 9? Why do you think they train as hard as they do? To play at the highest level possible. Maybe for some its more about money, but if that's the case they should hang up their boots and put the money they've earnt into their own business.

25.) 08 Aug 2013
Ethavc when you get to a certain point in your carrear as these guys obviously have yes my friend it is about the money they may have wanted stardom in the past (hutton) tried it at spurs but he wasnt good enough realised this and looked for a pay day which he had obliged, why do YOU think they are still there taking a pay cheque hutton could have gone to prove my point he stayed to kick about with kids whilst taking his BIG pay cheque him being smarter will take as many pay cheques until he can't anymore then laugh all the way to the bank and THEN start his own business

26.) 08 Aug 2013
I hope if he starts a business it's in Angola they love performing clowns

27.) 08 Aug 2013
So what about bannan rejecting blackburns wage offer?

28.) 09 Aug 2013
What about it, he would prefer your money than there's he probably doesn't fancy the NW or having to earn his money he is probably quite happy where he is, as I was saying
