Maybe so but the playrs thmselves will be on no more than 25k a week so the chance of prem football and a pay rise i feel they'll jump at it personally i feel we'll get Naismith as he's young and if he want's to make a name internationally he'll need prem football

Simon Poulsen today hinted he would be open to the possibility of joining Aston Villa but revealed his agent has not made contact with the claret and blues. The 27-year-old Denmark international's contract with current Eredivisie leaders AZ Alkmaar expires next year and he could make a cut-price move in the January transfer window.

Randy Lerner has seen the error of his ways & is willing to pump £60m into McLeish's kitty & another £100,000 p/w aloud on players.
Beye will be on his way with Heskey .. this will free up another £120,000 p/w.
Leaving £60 million & £220,000 p/w to spend on players!.

Its true unfortunately if this article is to be believed. How the hell can we compete if the calibre of players we sign in the future are only on small wages comparitively compared to so called bigger clubs? I remember not so long ago coming to Villa Park was an attractive proposition for a player...that is no longer the case as clubs like Stoke, Fulham etc will pay higher wages than us. Prepare ourselves for a future of Championship & SPL players and young talent who have a good couple of seasons only to be fed into bigger clubs of which are becoming an alarmingly bigger amount. We are destined to at best finish mid table or be scratching around at the bottom of the Premiership for many a year to come in front of even smaller crowds in a stadium with a bigger capacity. Thanks Mr Lerner for all you plan to do for our once great club.

Taarabt (Villa have been short on creativity in midfield with Albrighton seeming to not have got a place & Bannan in fine form).

hi mate , I think fairly 50/50, I think his fitness will change things .. if McLeish want to buy more players , They'll probably sell him to clear the wage bill (hope this helps.)
