A friend that's well in at the villa as told me that villa will move for dembele of fulham scouts have been to watch him. But does it really matter now i think we are going down and i think with all the games remaining can only see 2wins i think we will go down record lowest points! Lee hendrie said he thinks villa are gone an won't come back delph said he left villa as they were in a mess sherwood said he's not in a hole but the club is i tend to agree with them all lerner has to go but so does the sporting director an tom fox they brought these players there for should go aswel as sherwood did! I love this club but i must say how much are we suppose to take as fans? Another player linked recently is michael keane burnley are these the guys suppose to keep us up? This isn't the fans club anymore its lerners and he driving us in the ground! Wba gor god sake have provrn premier players what we got?

Remi garde to sign 2 Germans in January. Loris karius the great young german keeper and davie selke and very good young old fashioned striker. Fast strong can finish with head or either foot 6 ft 3 will be well suited to the English game. Now he only moved for 8 million euro in the summer and has scored 6 in 12 so far this season in Germany. A bid of 10 million is thought to be on the table and 8 million for karius. I think these will be 2 very good addition for us but again no experience in our league so how quick will they settle. I think adebayor will come in as well on a 2 year deal but with a tare up his contract clause if we go down so he's free to go and we ain't stuck with his wages. Thoughts guys.

Joey Barton? Ffs

Are we really that desperate and blind!!
Egotistical, delusional, moronic, Neanderthal, and crap. Just a few words that I think when that useless self obsessed bell end is brought up.

You do realize Selke is playing 2nd division in Germany right? He left Bremen, and the first division to go to the 2nd division.

If I could sell the high earners and the mediocre players, then these are the ones I would try to sell in January at my estimated prices:

Brad Guzan (£3,7m), Gabriel Agbonlahor (£3,2m), Philippe Senderos (£50k), Ashley Westwood (£5,5m), Kieran Richardson (£15k), Alan Hutton (£20k), Carlos Sánchez (£4,4m), Libor Kozák (£3m), Charles N'Zogbia (£3,8), Mark Bunn (£1,5m), Joe Bennett (£1,5m) and Jed Steer (£1,5m) .

That gives a total of £28185000 of transfer money, which I think is good.

With this transfer money I would try to sign a GK, a CB, a CM, a RW and an ST at these estimated prices:

Loris Karius (£8m), Joël Matip (£7,5m), Kevin Nolan (free transfer), Andrija Zivkovic (£1m) and Charlie Austin (£8m) .

These are the best options right now, I think. Matip can play well as a DM too. The players are all decent and more than capable enough for the Premier League.

Garde stated recently that the players need to fight to avoid being bottom of the table before making deals in the transfer window. He has set his mind to change the tactics, this I believe will help.

30 Nov 2015 10:39:36
Er flakie he may be what u put but he's not crap and when he plays he plays with heart on sleeve something were lacking in midfield and he's experienced in league and he was on a free too just stating he would have been a good experienced player to get every 1 going and attack when needed.

Kevin Nolan yeh the keeper yeh austin yeh and go for tripper on loan too.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Nov 2015 11:05:56
Your right, he's very experienced, been relegated, disrupting a dressing room, getting shown red cards, suspended, burning younger players with his cigar.
He is crap! Always has been!

But I'm wrong, that's just the sort of influence we need. I true role model.

I agree, Djb371977. And not to mention that Nolan is also a two-footed natural attacking midfielder as well as a central midfielder.

Would be a pretty good addition to the team.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Dec 2015 02:22:13
Yes I realise selke is playing 2nd div in Germany. It's for a red bull owned team with huge ambition over the next few years and they spent 8 million euro on him. Best young striker of his type in Germany and a rough Dimond like benteke was when came.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Dec 2015 15:49:15
I would not get rid of Alan Hutton or Carlos Sánchez, people run down Hutton but he has been one of our better players, same goes for Sanchez,

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 21:30:48
Kingvilla - sorry mate Sanchez is a donkey, constantly gives the ball away, I'm always on edge when he gets the ball! He plays pretty stuff in patches but not consistently - Hutton I agree is one of our better guys! I can't believe though that no -one has identified who is our problem in defence! It has been Richards, he is never a centre back and is constantly out of position, albeit he disguises it well will effort and stamina, Okore is different league at centre back.

24 Nov 2015 18:05:20
It's killing me to say this but we are going down and I don't think it will at the championship, we have a bunch of players who are only an excuse for prem players so when we do go down they will want to jump ship or just keep robbing our club of a living, we should be preparing our self's in this window coming up with good quality championship players that know there way around the league that have bit of grit and fight in them because this bunch we have are nothing not one player we have get into a top 10 team, thus isiant sherwoods lamberts fault it gone on before them do we really think we are going to get a striker with a good eye for goal I don't our transfer business was all wrong in the summer we went quantity instead quality not sherwoods fault again but the board I'm starting to think this club could end up like rangers very quick, so many clubs have tried to buy themselves out of trouble in the January window and failed and have suffered for a couple of season when they did go down I think we should be preparing for it now.

So villa fans get up in the morning pay coach or train fair plus a ticket for the game and we get beat 4.0 and has our captin said it could have been more so after the game you would expect all the players to travel back to birmingham together on the coach gutted yeah? Wrong wonder boy an "villa" fan jack grealish having played so terrible decides after the game not to rest up an train harder to put things right but to go to a night club till 4am drinking champagne with callum robinson an other friends in manchester also with him to blonde girls! So as we are all on the coach on the way back home gutted boy wonder couldn't careless! I seen sunderland tonight not great but fighting to stay up what are our lot doing? I know who my moneys on to stay up after this season there not getting my money to sip champagne with blonde girls till 4am! This isn't aston villa anymore staunton townsend benteke they didn't go out drinking partying when we struggled they were gutted an kept a low profile! 1 thing to say about grealish enjoy the money while you can because when we go down nobody will be paying u 40k week! Suppose this is lerners fault aswel villa fans grow up its the players they don't care about the club we have decent players but they don't care we are better than palace wba sunderland but we don't fight we don't work they don't try!

When you think we need to win 10 games minimum or nearly win every other game it seems an absolute impossible task! When you think we need to make up 5 points to climb out of the relegation zone doesn't sound too impossible! If we don't beat Watford then rarher thinking we have a 30% chance of survival I will drop it to 20%! Stranger things have happened and records and history are there to be rewritten. If we do fall to Chamoimship then will be first to renew my Season Ticket and hope for quick return Graham Taylor style!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

24 Nov 2015 09:19:27
A point against Watford and 3 against Newcastle (? ) would give us 9 points from 17 games at Christmas - exactly where Leicester were last year. All Remi needs to do then is to ask Nigel Pearson what to do next .

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Nov 2015 12:03:36
Our biggest problem now is that even if we go and pick up a few results in the more winnable games we have, we are unlikely to be out of the bottom 3 by January
Even if Lerner were to put his hand in his pocket, which is unlikely, the kind of player we need is likely to avoid us like the plague
Garde is probably going to have to rely on a few gambles with Championship players or players from abroad and hope they work out spectacularly well.
There seems very little coming through the academy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Whether or not anything happens in January I have a little information related to Aston Villa:

Striker: There will be a flurry of activity surrounding Charlie Austin again in January. It will go the same way as before unless one or more of the interested clubs were to offer the asking price and then the player can make the decision. I expect Bournemouth are, like West Brom, out of the picture. Newcastle, Aston Villa and, perhaps, Crystal Palace may well step forward. He is keen to stay in the south of England.

Centre Back: River Plate's Balanta is of serious interest to a number of clubs and his agent says he has been approached by Aston Villa and Leicester City about the availability of the player. He would need a lot of work before being ready to play at the highest level in Europe, and I doubt anything will happen with Aston Villa.}

21 Nov 2015 23:20:05
i have only seen the highlights of the game today but jan can't come quick enough. guzan (have back him all the way but can't do it anymore), richardson and westwood are the first players we need replacing, how do we battle like that last game then play this way today?

and clark? absolute belter for ireland but for us shocking.

Are ther any rumours or anyone know what's happened to adama traore? Last i heard he was back in training then this thing about his wages and he hasn't been seen since. Is he no better than the rubbish we are using he looked a real player before picking up a knock surely he's worth a punt even if it means 75k a week or whatever?

I really hope so- wouldn't his wages be a bit much? If Lerner would pay his wages, it means he wasn't lying when he said he will invest in January window. Could that mean we will be in for more decent players? Certainly hope so.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Nov 2015 12:32:21
Lerner has promised to invest for the entire tenure of Paul Lambert!
Average of £5m pa means that we actually failed to invest to the tune of £25m just to stand still.
Don't hold your breath over Lerners word, hell could freeze before I accept his word.

10 Nov 2015 01:54:55 I have just heard as well off a friend well in at the villa that remi garde wants to look at the whole squad before putting a list together he met him and he's maent to be such a well mannered guy. i can tell you that the youth have gone back to training separately again from the first team! Some think my pal did say that libor kozak has played his last game in a villa shirt there are some that think something is going on with libor at the moment and he will be sold in january or loaned out for non-football reasons i am told! Garde also wants villa to play a high line and wants pacey defenders who can play from the back. I will update you soon as i know more! UTV VTID.

Just something I heard.
Garde was 1st choice when PL went, don't know why he didn't come then, Sherwood only had a 1 year contract and cost £1M in compo, the reason we bought so many players from Ligue 1 was down to RL knowing that Garde would become available, think getting to FA Cup final bought TS some time, as I said, something I've heard and maybe already been posted on here

Believable1 Unbelievable3

11 Nov 2015 15:29:50
Where did you get that he only had a 1 year contract?

Taken from avfc.co.uk:

"Aston Villa Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Tim Sherwood as our new manager."
...
"and has agreed a contract that will see him take charge until the end of season 2017-18."

That is a bit longer then 1 year. Try 3 and a half years.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - He can't sign for anyone until January, a player can only sign as a free agent when he has been a free agent during the previous window like Carlton Cole was.}

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome buddy. (yes)

09 Nov 2015 18:01:09
What is the reason for releasing him?
I assume he is nowhere near the level he was at a few years ago
Otherwise letting him go is madness.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He's nowhere near the being the player he was a couple of seasons ago then with his contract due to expire in the summer anyway and he was so far down the pecking order coming to a deal with him probably allows him to get out from under their feet and head back to Spain. I think any EPL club thinking about signing him would be taking a massive risk and he wouldn't too much for team unity which Villa need a lot of this season.}

09 Nov 2015 18:56:25
That's a good point.
We need unity more than skill. Us against the world mentality.

First game this season I've actually agreed with the team selection. Hutton motm for me today, although all the team had a good game. Good tactics and sensible subs at the right time. A point at everton and 3 off watford at home and i'd be satisfied. 6 points i'd be over the moon! Hope remi will stick with the team today except the odd change now and again, give grealish a run. Not change it every week like sherwood lol. Utv.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

09 Nov 2015 00:45:09
I don't think RG will chop and change week In week out to much he knows his stuff on first hand, need the players to regain confidence that it self boost them 10/20 % on top of performance's, whole team played well compared to what we've witnessed so far, good shout on Hutton MOM either him or Gil I thought, ayew tried but struggled he isn't an out and out striker and yes Sinclair tried aswell but the change I say for Everton is Gestede back as might cause EFC def issues,1 thing I've already been impressed with RG he looks like BOSS, BOSS if you know what I mean where's TS came in initially (yes saved us thanls TS) but was like a mate and one of the lads but I think through summer he tried to become the BOSS which changed him and maybe relationship towards players, maybe for once now another chance NZOGGY will finally show us why we brought him doubt it tho but who knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Nov 2015 07:58:58
I thought Ayew was different grade today ran his socks off and closed down their back line on many occasions didn't have much in the way of support. Also thought when Lazy gestede come on it changed the game IMO he don't close down useless at winning balls in the air (apart from attacking from corners or free kicks) For a big fella he can't hold the ball up. On the other hand Ayew won balls in the air and looks a totally different player from a month ago.

Very impressed today, team selection, formation, discipline, all aspects of the game seemed better. Both centre backs looked confident and limited city chances, Amavi going forward was class but going backwards seems a liability, navas exploited him multiple times. Sinclair didn't seem to do much however his work rate an commitment made up for it, very impressed over all, it's a longgggggg season and it isn't over yet! Onwards and upwards! #UTV.

Edge of seat stuff but an interesting team selection.
Good to see Gil start as he appears to have more imagination.

Perhaps lucky towards the end but after recent performances the future does look hopeful.

What a difference, every player organised and looked happy in their position . Sanchez, outstanding he breaks up play so well and fits well with Gana . Vertout certainly better furtherforward, some of his passing was great . Ayew and Gill ran their socks off, linked up well with Sinclare, got the makings of something good . the defence wher realy good, some of the diving blocks where brilliant. I know it's only one game and we shouldent get carried away, but after that, compared to what we have been watching, you can't help it Villa forever.

Much respected Martin Lauren has been critical of Lerner stating that he has not invested enough in the team.
Will Lerner fund Garde in the window?
If he does not fund him then we will be deep in the mire.
However we should be able to pull together and be better than B'mouth and Sunderland as they are not showing anything.
Let us hope that tomorrow we can close the back door and at least get a point.
Garde is impressed with the Holte and wants the full volume to prove "the 12th man, " let's make sure that we play our part and give 110%.

I've got to say RG interview for me personally he talks straight, sensible and knows the reality of tough job of our beloved club, I could only imagine he was promised money to spend January and I like the fact he said he has ideas and things and touched on player confidence, no one I can imagine is expecting a result Sunday but you never know maybe man city might be bit tired lol, but keep the faith all tbh there are similar bad teams Sunderland namely 1 and ballmouth is starting to struggle. those 2 I personally think will drop. Keep the faith at least RL looks like pulling out everything to keep us in prem, it would be in best interest to eventually sell, and the fact he held a team meeting morale boost that's a first.

Not I entirely disagree with ged! But why do you think he is the right choice?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2015 21:54:46
Agree with Ged but surely anybody would have been better than Tim Sherwood. he lost the dressing room, lost players confidence, and his own belief and confidence at that. he aged 10 yrs in 4 games and personally the Leicester result did it.

going by some fans on here talking about Grealish, he's not the same player, totally agree but why all the bs about him being warned or maybe fined over the summer break. okay so he does some degree of acting but we've all done it, well some.

maybe that's had a detrimental affect on him. players need support which breeds confidence and maybe the whole team are not getting it. maybe when Sherwood first came in, he was like one of the lads, and then things changed I think.

Anyway, my dream for the weekend is that Snake returns from injury (as possibly reported), comes on to hostile reception (obviously), villa get a corner he score a goal, 3 minutes later, off hamstring gone lol. villa go on to win narrowly, start of the Garde revolution. what a dream.

I just think and i'm hoping that RG will bring us something different having worked with the younguns at lyon etc he seems to be just what we need and maybe he can kick start our summer signings and to be honest I just got a good feel factor about him I think he will kick there arses they need someone with attitude and not be molly coddled, i'm not expecting miricles straight away but i'm hoping they show some grit on sunday and the promise of things to come!

I really hope your right ged. Think we need a completely different approach an perhaps a new outlook will do the team some good.

So do people think my idea of the fans owning us is a bad idea?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

04 Nov 2015 07:12:58
You think us as fans would be able to run a successful top flight club?!!
With what money?! From where?!
Any way, how could we come to an agreement on anything? The only thing we all agree on is that gabby is crap!!

04 Nov 2015 08:33:16
Kingvilla for chairman I'll sort us out lol.

Ok, can I put forward villa1980 as ceo, and kingvilla as head of recruitment.

Who's the 150mil to buy the club then the 100s millions you all expect the owner to spend of his own money.

Haven't been on here for a while. Too busy crying over the results. Is this new guy going to drop butter fingers so we can win a game?

Bunn?

Is steer still out on loan and what has happened to benji, is he still injured?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2015 20:29:00
I just think the defence have no confidence in him and it shows in the way they play. One eye constantly over their shoulder instead of both on the attacker.

04 Nov 2015 21:33:56
Question who to replace him with? The January transfer window.

03 Nov 2015 04:44:55
Ssshhh, mum's the word but apparently we are the subject of a bid to buy us by an investment group called i'm 1872,Swiss apparently, have already tried to invest in herta Berlin, how serious, seems so, someone tells me not our Best interest at heart? , so maybe not such a good sign, unless this instance, for better or worse, Randy still a better bet! anyone else heard anything about this?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

03 Nov 2015 08:42:37
Yeah it was the consortium close to finalising deal in summer, but there Chinese bank investors pulled plug last minute as a going concern, so far it's proving right decision on there part suppose and I thought they actually do own hertha Berlin could be wrong tho. I can't see anyone buying us in this situation ATM as the unknown of losing all that sky money come Aug if we get relegated.

All over the papers today, Gabby going to get his finger out, what a Joke! I'm sorry but he has had too many chances. he should never put our shirt on again. i can't understand what Biig Mac was thinking, with that side, as was said on TV.

was it a knock at the Villa board, by not picking any of the new players. What a difference when Gill and Ayew came on, Super Jack has been reading too much of his own publicity I think, he's gone backwards . I know it's something you don't get at the bottom, but with a bit more luck we could have got the draw. That would have given everybody the boost we need. Up the Villa.

It is interesting that some think Grealish will be great, others that he is over rated. At present the jury is out.
Bit like Gardener. Is he still a youngster at 23?
Possibly now fit but seldom seems to get near the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Nov 2015 22:19:53
For me you may agree you may not. Grelish is simply not good enough you look at the youngsters that's playing at the moment i.e. barker, dele ali, hazard and so on, he just doesn't cut it. my team for Sunday would be if players are fit. Guzan, Hutton, okore, richards, amavi, traore, gana, Westwood, gil, Sinclair, Ayew Subs bunn, lescott, gestede, vertout, bacon with a 4-5-1 formation thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

02 Nov 2015 22:34:35
Not bad shout daz but personally I'd go

Bunn

Richards
Okore
Lescott
Amavi

Westy
Gana

Sinc
Gil
Grealish

Ayew

Guzan Hutton clark veretout bacon gestede
Kozak

Why is kozak not getting a chance?

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Nov 2015 06:36:31
Why Westwood?? He is awful

Agree0 Disagree2

03 Nov 2015 11:11:30
I thought we looked a completely different team when gil came on. he looked like the only 1 that actually wanted to get on the ball an play. Don't understand why he isn't starting.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Nov 2015 19:03:00
Sinclair looked the best Villa player by far 1st half (not difficult, I know) .

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Nov 2015 19:09:53
Again our bench looks stronger than the 1st eleven why oh why is Richardson still playing? The man is a liability.

02 Nov 2015 19:14:28
Completely agree pal, couldn't be more dissappointed with the starting 11.

Hutton richardson lescott and gabby, might as well hand them 3 points.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Nov 2015 19:45:40
Same as very disappointed with starting 11 Amavi on bench aswell what the hell? Did he ring TS who to field? . Guess he worked with TS too long and is also one for chop and change. I really hoped that Garde might of suggested few things but guess not, could be a very long night let's hope not and team shows us for once. good thing tho if there is a such that there playing at least to show new boss. so come on lads let's do this UTV .

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Nov 2015 22:00:30
Been a villa fan for 25 years. For first time ever I just give up. Doesn't seem to matter who is in charge, Gabby Abby always plays and does nothing. I don't know anybody with worse stats than his in terms of goals to minute ratio. Richardson was awful, Guzan costs us about a goal a game. We sign an exciting prospect ftom Barcelona who can't get anywhere near the team. I could go on and on, after six years of struggle I just can be bothered anymore. I don't enjoy watching villa play, or reading about sacked managers, sacked Roy Keane, assistant managers sacked, Guzan released, re-signed, made number 1, then transfer listed, back to number 1 - the clubs a joke. A laughing stock. The club captain (an inspiration I ask? ) touched the ball 6 times in 45 mins tonight.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Nov 2015 22:52:02
I won't give up although it's really tough to go through this bull**** week in week out, only good thing is no one really showed new man tonight to stake a claim, defending was comical, let's just hey kick the ball against each other! Sinclair tried IMO only one tried pressuring whilst they easily passed at the back picking off passes that just cut through us, for once Carra, Nevile just nailed it, What the hell was majority summer signings doing on bench ehhh, ayew should be given a run consistanly, Guzan dropped, Bunn in recall yes you will not believe this but Baker from loan at least he gets him self knocked out trying lol, and FFS get Kozac in the team, well maybe Kmac couldn't be assed knowing out of job soon because not good enough starting 11 at all.

Remi garde is in. Will be announced first thing in the morning. Villa are getting him his staff he has asked for. Not both the lyon men though but his choice.

01 Nov 2015 21:00:56
Seen this reported by the S*n who have taken it from Canal+ who announced "Garde arrives tomorrow". Reginald Ray will be his assistant (he sounds like a character by all accounts}.

Great news. Garde is a great manager. Aston Villa will win titles again.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Nov 2015 12:14:12
Slow down, Hnchmchl85! Right now we are bottom of the table- I think it will take a few years for us to even be in contention for the title. Our target should be to avoid relegation this year and looking at the teams in the relegation battle this year, it will be a tough task.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Nov 2015 15:39:18
Just heard off my contact at villa park and remi Garde has agreed a 3 half year deal there just sorting out the compo now for the 2 lyon coaches we are thought to be paying a wopping 6million so there you have it folks new manager will be announced soon! he's 1st game is thought to be either city or everton most likely Everton.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

01 Nov 2015 16:11:23
So we have a new manager?? But, although we are bottom of league, and points are desperate. We are prepared to let someone else manage the team for two matches??
Are you drunk, or just think we are stupid?!

Agree2 Disagree1

01 Nov 2015 18:35:05
We wouldn't pay 6m for an actual manager let alone backroom staff.

Agree3 Disagree0

01 Nov 2015 22:06:03
Well don't you all feel silly now i told you remi Garde was going to be Aston Villa manager and was set to be announced his first game will be Man City. Lyon wanted 6 million for the staff villa have agreed 2million! He will be in the stands watching tottenham game an will take control he's only missing 1 game which is spurs know ient drunk people 3 an half year deal. So before people doubt me again just think on! Same as you all doubted me when i said tom cleverly was coming on loan why are people so qwick to judge i don't put false info up there's no point!

Agree1 Disagree1

01 Nov 2015 00:06:09
Doom and gloom, without a doubt we are in a scrap. As much as TS was an infectious character he didn't know his best starting 11

Personally I would just like to see us putting a shift in and attacking bit like Leicester of the since the start of 2015

On paper we have a decent team when the best 11 players are on the pitch .

The majority of teams seem to adopt a 4-2-3-1, which could work as below

Guzan

Richards Clark Okore Amarvi

Veretout Sanchez

Traore. Gil Grealish

Kozak

This may not be the best starting 11 but it could do a job.

With plenty of attacking substitutions Ayew, Gestede, and Sinclair to come in when required.

Keep the faith until the bitter end!

No gueye? Our best centre mid in my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Nov 2015 12:56:20
Apologies yes AVFC Dan your right Gana should be there to replace Sanchez

Doh maybe I'm TS in disguise and don't know the best 11

In essence we should be playing the best 11. But I also think a more maverick Leicester type approach is required to make up for goalkeeping and defensive frailties.
