Just read Dr. Tonys statement looks like Bruce is staying so negative football here we come again if he can't get us promoted with good players what's he gona do with crap players? Dr. Tony says we have to sell so it will be our best players going. I was hoping for young players and attacking football looks like that's out the window. can't people see that Steve Bruces style is out dated? I want to know what sort of summer have we got to look forward to then if we have no money and have to sell our best players? If Dr Tony wanted the best for us he would sponser the ground 100 million and let us by good players easy way to get round FFP. So far he hasn't spent his own money its been the parachute money. You want Bruce back your manager then. We pay one of the highest season tickets in the league for that I expect to see the best players if Dr. Tony thinks he can do it with old men and free transfers his having a laugh. He has sponsored the training ground and T-shirts why didn't he sponsor it with 50 million problem solved no when it comes to him backing us he don't want to use his money the guys a joke.

31 May 2018 04:20:38
He hasn't got it mate I agree with all your points it him that used all the parachute payments, he hasn't got a clue about running a footy team check his wealth in China he's not even in top 200 plus when he bought villa he didn't say how much he had to bankroll villa, he's pulled the wool over every1 eyes I knew he was dodgey, a good chairmen would sort this mess out not sell all our best players, I hope he sells because rumours are he can't afford to run villa anymore .

Villa4eva - Walk. the. Walk
I'm pretty sure tony Xia had to under go a fit-and-proper-person test before being allowed to take over Villa to prove he was a worthy owner, I also seem to remember a lot of bluenose activity on the internet back then claiming him to be a fraud. But I guess he must of pulled the wool over the eyes of the FA too.

There appears to be an awful lot you don't like about Villa considering your a fans,

You don't like the owner,
You don't Like the manager
You don't like the players other than Grealish

So I have to ask is the stadium okay for you or would you prefer it to be located in B9

The owner can't just throw money at the club because that isn't allowed and sponsoring the training ground for 100 million wouldn't work either because FIFA investigate and it as to based on the true market value. He may well yet have a plan up his sleeve, I don't know but in the meantime please do continue to pick the club apart.

Some truth in Tony could rename the ground recon stadium until we get promoted then get his money back. but as a club we need a plan start playing the kids and use older players as fillers not other way round. don't think sacking manager all the time is the answer.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 May 2018 19:29:50
Cardiff, if anyone told you they were going to get the automatic spot at the start of the season you'd have laughed at them with the team they had. They worked hard as a unit and ground out results. Bring some kids through that are hungry for it and build from there.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2018 21:18:59
Rename the ground like Villacov said, Man City got away with pumping 400 million into their club by doing just that, so we should have no problem covering our needs. Maybe that is already in his plans, who knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2018 22:57:33
Because of the Man City debacle there now has to be a justifiable case for the value of the branding. 100mill is never going to be possible for a Championship club and even given the size of the club I wouldn't be sure we could push 50 mill now we're in our 3rd season here.

Bruce proved with Wigan and Blues he can do it on a budget so let's see how we start the season. Nobody else available has proven they can manage Villa and Bruce was close with a points total that normally scrapes 2nd. People like Dean Smith have done good jobs but still haven't had experience of challenging the top.

Agree0 Disagree2

30 May 2018 23:35:07
Much is being made about financial fair play at the moment, now I'm no expert on this issue but this is how I see it.

For the season 2017/ 18 the requirements for FFP have already been met so there is absolutely no problem there. However for the season 2018/ 19 we will receive less parachute money and also the figure on how much the club is allowed to lose also drops. Although the FFP is over a three year period what this equates to is approximately 40 million difference from our allowance from the previous season, so basically the club needs to find a way to cover that difference either by cutting costs or selling players.

The way I'm reading it is that we have all season to take care of this issue so there is no immediate problem. Players leaving the club this summer for instance will save on wage bills, an example of that being John Terry who's annual wage would be around 3 million. I don't know exactly who else will go just yet but it all adds up. The pending sale of Charles Gil will also generate cash and if we can dump those freeloaders like Ross McCormack and Micah Richards then this 40 million figure keeps getting smaller and smaller.

So I don't see any immediate need to press the panic button and sell our best players just yet, a better option for me would be to wait until January to see how we sit regarding FFP and then if we really need to sell Grealish and others then so be it, but at least by then hopefully that 40 million figure would have already dropped considerably and by selling just Jack alone the entire figure would hopefully be close to covered. All of this of course is just my own thoughts, has I already stated I'm no expert in this field.

We are in a right mess again then thou mate villa are looseing shed loads of cash each month aN our chairmen is looking for a way out, he's no billionaire at all he's only worth 80 milion, he's in way over his head from what I've herd an rumours aswell is that he's looking to sell us mate, I always thought he was dodgey . plus if he was a billionaire why doesn't he just pay the 40 Mil so we are not in ffp an don't have to sell our best players
Answer is he hasn't got it, an he gambled by the parachute paymens an it has backfired big time mate it's going to take villa 3 years to come bck up again atleat mate soz bout long reply ha ha.

Sounds to me like Bruce will be relieved of his managerial duties.

Does any1 think selling the naming rights to villa park would be a good idea to raise cash? also where's our chairmen at this crucial time surely he wouldn't want us to sell all our best players.

I was never keen on the Dr in the 1st place for 1 he' hasn't got a clue about football also I think he realised it cost millions to run a football club and I honestly think he hasn't got the cash to bankroll villa, an if rumours are right he's already looking too sell, and if you look back to the villa deal he never lodged his complete wealth, also how much is he actually worth I know his recon company is worth a reported 3 billion.

I just hope all these rumours are not true, an if they are I hope chairmen can sort I'm them out else we are in massive trouble again, supporting villa is like the soaps u never know what is going to happen nxt ha ha.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 May 2018 02:38:30
I heard rumours that blues were selling their naming rights and that TTA have already come up with a perfect name "Smallheath Shopping Mall". I don't think their owners know much about football either or they would never have bought into a club that's only won two major trophies in over one hundred years of football.

They certainly don't have the cash to take a tinpot club like blues into the big time. After spending all TTA's funds last season they didn't even improve on the bottom six place from the season before. They too are now in serious strife with FFP, but their team is idiotic and needs a total rebuild, but the owners are already broke even if they could spend.

So if you think we have problems you may find some comfort in knowing that blues are even worse off, so i wouldn't worry too much it will all pan out. I'm sure Tony Xia and the Villa board have long had plans for each possible outcome of the playoffs as any businessman worth his salt would of done. So sleep well and leave the running of the club to those who know how after all you don't get to be a billionaire by being stupid do you.

The Messiah did nothing, only out us in debt and leave us with old donkeys nobody wants on huge wages. his football was awful after the game Tom carniey said its a victory for football. even he knew we played awful football it was crap at boro and fulham. you can't keep getting away with it.

We now will have to sell all our players and the training ground according to reports. We had more money than the whole of that league. fulham didnt spend anything like what we did and was a joy to watch. The MANAGER FAILED WE didn't GO UP!

I have followed Villa for 60 years, I've been to Wembley loads of times . We have won some, we have lost some, but I can honestly say this is the most I've ever been so disappointed. The fans as usual, turned up in their thousands and gave their all. But sadly the team didn't . For the last two weeks, all I've heard is how we have the experienced players . Where was they?

The first half was terrible, the second half, was better but too late . I could go into certain players, but can't be bothered . Will be interesting over the next few weeks, to see how many of the team will want to stop.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

27 May 2018 05:09:31
The first half was awful I agree and overall we played poorly giving too much respect. Unfortunately that is the nature of the cut throat playoffs, it's all on the day. Hopefully next season we will achieve automatic promotion and skip the playoffs altogether. Onward and upwards. UTV.

Agree2 Disagree3

27 May 2018 20:28:56
That's villa under Bruce to inconsistent al season.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 May 2018 23:35:11
It's all well and good changing managers but it's a risky buisness that doesn't always pay off, there were 20 teams less consistent than us last season in the championship. How would Man Utd have got on if they had sacked Fergie the first time he failed to win something? I don't believe in changing managers just for the sake of it.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 May 2018 20:26:34
Yeah but Bruce has had 2 an a half years at villa now an it hasn't been good we play awfull footy we have no pace, he doesn't have a plan b or plan c, I say bye byes an get gallardo or dean smith or lampard. Bruce tried but failed many managers have had less cash an gone ie cardif, h field, Brighton, fulham, we have the players to get out this division it's not that tough u just need to play fast atacking footy not footy from the stoneage.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 May 2018 21:39:07
I think you will find that Bruce joined Villa in October 2016 which doesn't equate to 2 and half years! A season and Half would be a bit closer and in his only full season at Villa his spending has been limited due to FFP. Money squandered was much down to previous managers. !

Agree1 Disagree0

29 May 2018 09:39:30
You must have blinkers on then mate if enjoy watching this garbage what Bruce is serving up.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 May 2018 15:52:41
Yes, but from where the club was when Bruce came in and where we are now is something I don't need blinkers to see, we have moved in the right direction under Bruce undeniably, which is a lot more than quite a few managers have achieved for us. Bruce isn't perfect and has his faults but I would rather watch his so called garbage than the garbage served up in the previous seven seasons. When Bruce came in Villa were in a very sorry state and going nowhere and although we have a long way to go and didn't quite make it this season, Bruce did exceedingly well to even give us a shot at promotion all things considered.

There may be better managers out there but there is also a lot worse, so I think we should go with him in the coming season and see where it takes us, if he fails then fair enough maybe the time for a change of manager will be upon us, but because he has done nothing but take the club forward since his arrival I think we should roll with it for the time being.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

26 May 2018 04:48:36
If their fans need clappers to make a noise then it speaks volumes about their fan base, rather like the bluenoses who have the same problem. If you ask me they have already gone into panic mode by choosing to take that step and are already worried that they won't be heard.

Most of the Fulham tickets will be in the hands of the touts, so we can expect a noisy sea of claret and blue today.

Come on Villa make it a day to remember UTV.

Agree with all of the comments regarding the level of effort and commitment on Tuesday made you feel proud again. No one has shown that more than Alan Hutton, he is an example to all players that if you really want something work hard, he should be rewarded not only with a new contract but kept on in any capacity to show to all around how to behave when sometimes the chips are down. My player of the season for many reasons.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

19 May 2018 14:20:08
I agree, should be offered player coach position, everyone saw 2 years ago he isn’t really good enough to be a premier league full back week in week out, however sign someone for the RB position, use Hutton as number 2. Given his attitude and commitment he will work and fight to regain his position, push the new RB to be the best possible player they can. Win win situation.

Despite owner Xia's recent comments, Aston Villa are reportedly in pole position to sign Abel Hernández on a free again this summer.
This is pretty good news to me. He would be another great Villa-player!
