Darren Bent will become Mark Hughes first signing at Stoke, it's believed the deal is worth £6million.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Replace him with bony?
Front line of benteke agbonlahor weimann bony nzogbia holman

Agree3 Disagree3

Take Ireland with him plz

Agree8 Disagree1

Not sure about bent going to Stoke, but I think Ireland will go there and link up wiyh his old buddy Hughes

Agree6 Disagree2

Bent is only willing to take the drop in wages if he's going to a london club and stoke have a wage cap 45k a week

Agree6 Disagree2

Holman has been saying to Aussie paper he might leave. I think we should sell him tbh. 2-3 million profit

Agree7 Disagree0

Don't think bent can be that fussy about his wages/next club to be honest.

Agree2 Disagree1

Stoke want to play attacking football & that's not Peter Crouch. Stoke also say they want to improve their league positions which means spending more cash - they will want Bent.

Agree3 Disagree1

So. a front line of 6 and presumably 3 across the back and 1 in midfield.
I suppose its different!!
wiso111

Agree5 Disagree0

We should use that money to buy a new defender/midfielder our forwards are solid. If we get these Bulgarian wingers we can use them on the wing if Benteke gets injured the push gabby or weimann in their favourite striker role

Agree1 Disagree0

Cresswell and Murphy will sign for villa in mid July once Villa have tied down the likes of Benteke, Weinman, Lowton and Westwood.

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Better not leave it late : (

Agree8 Disagree1

Hopefully benteke, weimann an lowton will sign new contracts before mid July.

Agree5 Disagree2

Benteke is joining spurs or the gunners and wiemann will join Norwich as he doesn't want another relagation battle

Agree2 Disagree3

Weimann will join norwich cus he doesn't want to be in another relegation battle? Lmfao! Norwich are an always gunna be in a relegation battle, they have no future in the prem, there here to make up the numbers, that's it!

Norwich fans love coming on the villa forum, I reckon their closeted villa fans

Agree5 Disagree1

Norwich will be in a far worse position than Villa. Villa were as close to mid-table as they were the relegation battle come the end of the season.

Agree2 Disagree0

"Sunderland and Newcastle United target Andreas Weimann’s future is up to Aston Villa, according to his agent. "
So, how is Weimann going to join a mediocre side like Norwich City then?

Agree1 Disagree0

You've been reading the rags again haven't you mate
Why the hell would Weimann go to Norwich?
They were in practically the same position as us at the end of last season. If you insist on making stuff up, at least make it plausible. or consider a career in journalism
Mendax

Agree1 Disagree0

Is that the Norwich that was in the relegation battle with us? How much dead horse is there to beat on this benteke story, whenever it dies some unknown sports website reposts the same post and starts it up again.

Villa ARE interested in Aleksandar Tonev but he isn't having a medical!

Believable11 Unbelievable2

What exactly does this mean? As far as i'm aware you only have a medical if the two sides agree a fee and give permission.

Unless things have changed dramatically in a matter of days.

Agree6 Disagree1

Bit hard when he was playing for his club last night.

Agree7 Disagree1

According to the paper this was published in. there was a rumour that he was due in for a medical today. but it turns out that Villa are only interested in signing him and no nothing as yet has been agreed between the clubs

Agree4 Disagree1

Villa are in talks with his club over a fee for Tonev but nothing more. His projected move to Celtic is now on hold as he would prefer to play in the EPL than the SPL.

Agree4 Disagree2

Troy Deeney would be the best signing, good young promising striker who is prolific in front of goal.

Agree0 Disagree4

A fee of £2.5m has now been agreed - he is now scheduled a medical & personal talks!

Agree4 Disagree0

£2. 5 Million fee agreed, will have contract talks over the weekend.
Deal should be completed by Tuesday.

Darren Bent's replacement will be one of the following

Charlie Austin
Dwight Gayle
Matej Vydria
Troy Deeney

all valued around 2-4m mark

Believable4 Unbelievable10

None of the forwards listed here are anywhere near villas standards. have u actually watched any of them? all awful.

Agree6 Disagree6

Everyone par Gayle coul make it in the prem- they have all par Gayle scored 20+ this season

Agree1 Disagree7

If bent goes as a replacement I think I'd like to see lukaku on loan maybe or someone like Defoe he may be available if spurs sigh villa or Damiao. I'd even get Keane back. These are suggestions. I'll wait for the divs now who go he wants youth bla bla bla. Like I pointed out at the top of the post it's who I WOULD LIKE TO SEE :)

Agree8 Disagree1

Lukaku could be easily drawn to Villa Park due to Villa having Benteke, imagine Bentekkers & Lukaku! #unbeatable.

Agree5 Disagree6

You lot are dilluded! None of them strikers up to your standard!? The only striker u have that is worth anything is Benteke, Bent never gets a look in (only Lambert knows why), Agbonlahor/Weimann will never be 20 goal a season strikers and are preferred in the wide areas, Bowery. say no more! Its time you were a bit more realistic with your expectations! Austin and Vydra would do a decent job for Villa, Gayle not quite ready yet and Deeney is a bit hit and miss!

Agree4 Disagree9

Matej vydra is class. He'd be a great signing, but none will be able to do what Benteke did, those guys would be better replacements if we can't resign Weimann, but not replacing Benteke

Agree4 Disagree7

Gabby is a 15 goals a season striker & Weimann will easily be a 20 goal a season striker. and you calling us deluded!

Agree4 Disagree1

Gabby and Weimann would get 20 between them! WAKE UP!!

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm sorry but playing out of position gabby and andi both scored 12 each. That's 24 goals from out of position. Imaging them linking up top if benteke leaves. Which he WON'T.

Agree2 Disagree1

Tom huddlestone, adel taarrat

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Taraabt is lazy, the exact type of player Lambert's trying to get rid of.

Agree8 Disagree1

I'd take huddlestone, Taarabt no thanks we already got enough players who piss about with the ball ending up in nothing.

Agree6 Disagree1

31 May 2013 02:00:03
Villa and Stoke to battle it out for Tom Huddlestone this summer.

Believable4 Unbelievable9

30 May 2013 21:54:40
Is the flamini transfer just a rumour or are we actually looking to bring him in on a free transfer? Good signing if true

Believable3 Unbelievable6

We were also rumoured to have wanted him last summer

Agree4 Disagree1

He signed a new 1 year contract extension so not happening

Agree6 Disagree0

Yet last summer he wasn't a free agent.

Agree2 Disagree2

Just because he wasn't a free agent last summer does not mean we were not interested in him

Agree1 Disagree0

A friend of mine has told me villa are looking at re signing Shaun Maloney has anybody else Hurd that?

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Would love him back at villa park he weren't given a proper run in the team first time around

Agree7 Disagree6

Wouldnt want maloney back, he's a good player but he's 31 ish so doesn't have long left at this level, I think there's better options out there.

Agree10 Disagree6

He admitted he wasn't settled at villa because he was home sick

Agree6 Disagree2

Shaun Maloney is s***

Agree4 Disagree10

30 May 2013 12:48:05
Aston Villa are eyeing up a move for Tottenham's Scott Parker, whose believed to be one of tottenham's exits this season. Its rumoured Villa may offer spurs £5million for the midfielder. {Ed013's Note - Don't take this the wrong way, but your rumours are pulled from your fantasies! 9 million for Lambert, 5 for Parker, at least attempt to make them believable!}

Believable4 Unbelievable12

We won't pay his wages, those days are gone lambert only wants young hungry players with ambition not experienced stars who command big fee & salary

Agree8 Disagree2

30 May 2013 12:45:24
Aston Villa are set to make a £9million bid for Southampton's Rickie Lambert with possibly Darren Bent going in the opposite direction.

Villa may also offer free agent Sean St Ledger a contract at the club. {Ed013's Note - 9 Million is a little over exaggerated}

Believable3 Unbelievable12

What a load of crap

Agree13 Disagree1

This is complete bulls**t, and I would just like to know where you got/ came up with this?

Agree9 Disagree0

30 May 2013 10:06:47
Aston Villa have made a £3.5m bid for Lech Poznan winger Aleksandar Tonev and could also offer £4m for Burnley striker Charlie Austin.

Believable11 Unbelievable4

This one's hotting up but thought he was set for Celtic? Can't say I know anything about him.

Agree4 Disagree2

If crystal palace want bent they can pay proper money personally wouldn't sell anyone to holloway after he slagged villa off about Charlie Adam mind you saved us money on that one

Agree7 Disagree1

Hope we can grab tonev, but i've heard wolfsburg are interested as well as us and celtic and he's said to be favouring a move to germany.

Agree3 Disagree2

If villa bid 3. 5 for tonev you have no chance mate celticand wolfs have been told 8m. Norwich also reported tobe following him.
Charlie Austin believable when we lose benteke.

Agree1 Disagree2

Villa have announced official interest in Tonev but stress they have not made any contact for Charlie Austin.

Agree2 Disagree0

I think we'll start to make a move on Austin once we get rid of Bent

Agree2 Disagree0

30 May 2013 09:34:44
Villa planning talks with Ireland over terminating his contract and offering a pay off

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Villa will try offer him to clubs on a no-fee basis they won't pay him £3m to go away!

30 May 2013 09:31:08
Aston Villa are set to lodge a £3.5million bid with Polish club Lech Poznan for Bulgaria winger Aleksandar Tonev, ahead of Celtic and German side Werder Bremen.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is ready to make a move for released Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne, 33, for the club's Championship return

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Tht bhoy is all but a celtic player end of

Agree0 Disagree8

Err why would some one choose the 1 horse race that is Scottish football over playing in the Premiership - they would have to be brain dead

Agree5 Disagree1

2. 5 will be agreed for tonev and he'll come to the villa.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 May 2013 08:32:58
Athletico Madrid want benteke for about 20 million but seeing as falcao going to monaco for 50 and isco most likely going to man city for around about 30 they can stroll on for a siesta

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Benteke will cost £30m+

Agree11 Disagree3

Isco doesn't play for them, he plays for Malaga

Agree11 Disagree1

Not original poster, but just to point out he/she never said who isco played for. Why post comments if you carnt read. Benteke is worth 35million easy, all you need to do is compare him to Andy Carroll.

Agree3 Disagree2

But he still plays for Malaga!

Agree4 Disagree1

Why else would he mention Isco then? He has no relevance to Athletico, Villa, Benteke or Falcao.

Agree8 Disagree1

Your quick to try to correct somebody don't see your words of wisdom probably a nose

Agree0 Disagree2

Benteke is not worth more than £20 million. Ridiculous to compare to Carrolls move; that was a desperate club paying well over the odds.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 00:26:00
aston villa will offer 2 million and shay given to celtic for fraser forster as lambert starts he's summer spending spree

Believable7 Unbelievable12

Wouldnt mind this but don't think Lambert would sign a keeper who would expect first team football straight away which I think Forster would, even more so if he wants to make a play for the World Cup squad next year.

I think Guzan is clear No. 1 and I would expect a young keeper, again maybe from the lower leagues, to be brought in. Someone like Moore from Brentford or Smithies from Huddersfield possibly

Agree7 Disagree0

He'd want 1st team football - which he wouldn't get at Villa.
Siegrist is a better 2nd keeper.

Agree8 Disagree2

No way, he wants first team football in england for world cup place. Won't play second fiddle to brad!

Agree7 Disagree0

Spending spree? I doubt it.

Agree5 Disagree2

Celtic will never let that happen, Forster is worth more than that

Agree7 Disagree2

Forster is a quality keeper, Lambert knows all about him, he was on loan at Norwich.

Agree4 Disagree1

29 May 2013 23:15:00
Memphis depay next week

Believable8 Unbelievable7

You tried this trick yesterday, no one is buying it Depay is PSV next big thing!

Agree7 Disagree3

Hope your right he is quality but how do u no this

Agree2 Disagree1

Doubt it will happen, We can only but dream he's top draw

After Queen park ranger's brazilian loanee player Fabio has found himself relegated to the championship with QPR, Fabio is set to return to manchester united but David Moyes doesn't feel that Fabio is ready and after joe bennet playing rather up and down at the moment. Paul Lampert is ready to agree a loan deal for fabio for a season long loan.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Paul Lambert is on the list of Managers to take over at Everton and has held talks with them too

Agree2 Disagree13

Its Martinez's job - jog on!

Agree7 Disagree4

Another envious canary chirping on Villa site.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 May 2013 21:38:00
Just Hurd by a reliable source that Paul lamberts going to sign at least 6 new players with tonev charlie Austin aiden Mcgeady huddlestone Danny rose and Tom ince all on his hit list {Ed003's Note - I've heard similar about Austin.}

Believable3 Unbelievable8

McGeady is lazy, Huddlestone & Rose don't fit what we want. Would rather have Murphy than Huddlestone.

Agree5 Disagree4

By Tonev I assume you mean the bulgarian Winger? if so I can't see us signing more then one out and out wingers (him, Ince and McGeady as you suggest).

I think if we went for one of them and then possibily McManaman from Wigan who is more of a Weimann type wide player (looks to break into the middle at every opp) then I think that would make more sense.

Am a massive fan of Huddlestone and he would add extra quality on the ball into our midfield. However, with Westwood, Delph and Sylla already 'similar' type players i'm not too sure we need another player of that ilk. Ideally we need a midfielder who will play 20yds ahead of them them and closer to the strike force like Will Hughes / Jon Williams.

Agree4 Disagree0

My hope Gary Gardner will become the player we all no he should be, should be better than all the players on the books, that's fact

Agree6 Disagree2

Is there a rule that McGeady must be linked with Villa every transfer window for a hundred years or something? Beyond old now. Anyway, anyone who saw him for RoI last night will question what he'd add.

Agree2 Disagree1

Can play both wings and give us width as well as take people on. Get him cheep with an average wage and I'd take him

Agree0 Disagree0

29 May 2013 12:31:27
AVFC to lodge 4.5 million bid for Burnley hitman Charlie Austin. Lambert has been tracking him for a couple seasons and sees him as replacement for Darren Bent if he leaves

Believable4 Unbelievable3

We won't pay 4. 5M for a Austin with only 1 year left on his contract, with no prem experience, be about 1.5m

Agree5 Disagree5

Ok so I went on google typed in aston villa kit 2013/14 and its got a new home, away and 3rd strip. does anyone know whether this is going to definitely be our new kit? its nicer than last season. what do u other VILLA fans think of it?

Agree2 Disagree5

They are guesses at it, they occur every pre season & are never right.

Agree3 Disagree2

Do you mean the one with Acorns as the sponsor? Cause I have a feeling that might not be legit.

Agree3 Disagree2

It's not our kit, but I know it's going to be released on fathers day weekend.

Agree3 Disagree1

Personally I don't really like it. It's like someone has just printed a claret box on a blue shirt!

Agree1 Disagree2

28 May 2013 22:42:08
A move for Demba Savage is likely this window, press in Finland believe Southampton along with us have had him watched x amount of times, with Villa set to pounce first.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Brilliant signing.

Agree7 Disagree1

I don't want any Villa players with the name Savage, brings up the thought of Robbie Savage - yuck!

Agree9 Disagree5

Living in Helsinki I can assure Villa fans that this would be a very good signing. Savage can play anywhere up front and on either wings.

He possesses excellent dribbling ability and has an eye for the creative ball. A fun player to watch. would be a great bit of business and he deserves a chance for a bigger stage like Villa

Agree10 Disagree2

He's going to Everton

Agree1 Disagree8

Everton have NO MANAGER and so no transfer targets yet! Btw martinezs targets will have changed as he will have access to greater funds if he is to succeed moyes as Everton manager.

Benteke, Weimann and Lowton all in talks with Paul Lambert on signing new deals

Believable13 Unbelievable4

Lowton might stay with you. but the other two will not

Agree5 Disagree14

Says a man in the know I suppose?
I wish people would keep idle speculation confined to the teams they actually support
Mendax

Agree8 Disagree3

I wouldn't be that upset with weimann he just seems arrogant

Agree6 Disagree7

Benteke has denied wanting to leave & him with Weimann are in final stages of sorting new contracts along with Matty Lowton.
Shows how much you know!

Agree5 Disagree2

I have it on good authority that Norwich have been in touch and made a bid for Wiemann, and being a former youth player he won't cost to much, and Norwich being in a position to tempt him away

Agree3 Disagree11

All three will stay, however benteke will leave after next season-- he has said previously that he feel a lot of gratitude towards lambert as we took a gamble on a player who only had one good season. all the other thing about him saying he wants to leave is bull& twisted

Agree8 Disagree0

Weimann too Norwich Is a hilarious suggestion

Agree12 Disagree4

Wiemann has been linked with Norwich for 6 months now. Plus Norwich have a lot more money

Agree3 Disagree11

Funniest story ever why on earth would weimann go norwich?cant stop laughin. where u hear ya liar?haha

Agree8 Disagree2

Norwich do NOT have more money than randy lerner multi billionaire

Agree7 Disagree4

Lets be fair, they'd signed RVW so they must be rich remember.

Agree1 Disagree2

Norwich are owned by a crazy cookery lady named Delia Smith. Villa are owned by a man who sold a franchise in the USA for $1 billion this year - now explain please to me how Norwich seem rich compared to us!
Norwich have probably been looking at the Weimann who plays in Serie B who sits on the bench every match.

Agree6 Disagree1

Makes no Difference how much the Owner has, the question is How much will he give Lambert to spend

Its already been said that the Money to buy RVW is from last years budget and is also said that around the £35mil mark is to be set aside for next season, Sort of blows Lambert's Lack of funds report out of the water, probably Norwich didn't trust him with big money spending is the real reason he stormed out, guess no one apart from him and Norwich will ever know the reason for his departure, we as fans can draw our own Conclusions,

Agree2 Disagree5

More money? How many cook books do you think she's sold haha.

Agree6 Disagree1

In the last two seasons alone we've spent enough to be able to buy norwich's starting 11, not that we'd want to. Then again norwich are rich compared to the poor farmers over there!

Agree3 Disagree2

Conclusions, Norwich have spent two season in the premiership. Dated stadium which holds 16,000 less and hosts no extra income events, much poorer facilities and they expect to spend a few quid and do something. Its quite funny really. Even more funny come January next season when they are near the bottom of the league

Agree7 Disagree0

Lambert will be given money if a player is worth it - he didn't spend his whole budget from last summer he openly admits that.

Agree6 Disagree0

Delia Smith is worth £23m & her husband is worth £14.5m.
If we spent Smith's worth on Darren Bent alone, please explain how you have better finance than villa!
£35m? that'd clean her out!

Agree6 Disagree1

Norwich owners are worth a total of around £37m, Lerner is worth £1500m, who is richer than!
Because in all honesty i'm not seeing how you think Norwich have more money than Villa!

Agree5 Disagree1

This is the most tragically pitiful debate I have seen on here. From both signs of the argument
Mendax

Agree2 Disagree2

Norwich actually increased their home attendance last season so they possibly have some more money to spend. Sixty six extra supporters went through the gates of the carrot patch putting approx. £1000 in the till. Not sure if all the extra were Canaires. So there you are, they do have money to spend.

Agree2 Disagree1

Well said Mendax,

Norwich have limited funds, they are now debt free and aim to stay that way, there will be no massive injections of cash from Delia, we will not spend more than the prem riches offer. Villa should have more gate revenue, but at a guess I would say thier spending on player wages is higher.

Agree2 Disagree2

Why are norwich always trying to argue with villa about stadium, money, status etc try it with birmingham city its a more even match but even the blues have won more than norwich city

Agree6 Disagree0

Wer not trying to argue! because stadiums and fans opineons mean jack! Wer both premier league clubs for atleast another season snd that's all that matters!

Regarding Weimann I personally would not want him at Norwich, he seems quite erratic at times and he needs a bit more experience in the top flight before moving to anyone. he's better off staying at Villa and growing there. which I believe he will do!

Agree3 Disagree0

You poor Villa fans, you Can't have a conversation without twisting words and try to make yourselves look intelligent, The original post was not about the wealth of owners it was the amount of money entrusted to the manager to spend in the next transfer window, Norwich will not build a 35-40. 000 seated stadium at this early stage, Other clubs have done so and been smacked in the face, Stability comes first. We will not be in the bottom 3 by January, Last season we were there for 1 week and that was due to a different play day, you on the other hand were around that bottom spot for most if not all of the season.

Norwich fans stick by what we have and stay till the final whistle, when you lot are live on tv most of you stay at home, we are packed out every home game and take full quote of fans to away matches.

And what makes people think Delia and Michel only have £35mil between them? this is a myth they are worth more than that they are wise and keep personal matters away from public

Agree0 Disagree3

Okay if the orignal post was about how much money we'll have to spend, I'd bet you my house we spend more money than you. Not that I care in the slightest who spends what! As for the poster above, you're being ridiculous saying you wouldn't want weimann, norwich have possibly the worst attack in the league, they'd kill for somebody decent up there! The only reason you're saying you don't want him is because there is absolutely no chance of it happening. Weimann is far to good for norwich, and too good for villa atm!

Agree1 Disagree0

Does it really matter that Lerner is worth £1500 million, he does not seem to interested on spending it on the club. I don't know too much about Lerners history, is he a life long fan of Villa?

Agree1 Disagree1

Lerner supported Villa from when he was in university & he has tried spending big & it just collided with the timing of the Man Cit£h buyout.

Agree0 Disagree1

Remind where Villa finished in the league vis a vis Norwich

Agree1 Disagree0

Evertons Heitinga to sign a deal with villa and link up with fellow countryman Ron vlaar in a 2.5m deal.

Believable6 Unbelievable15

Better defender than Bennett but very very slow

Agree7 Disagree6

Nice gag

Agree7 Disagree3

Why on earth are you comparing heitinga a centre back with bennett a left back?loada rubbish

Agree11 Disagree2

Heitinga is awful, his positioning his pace. dreadful for a supposed top player. We have Clark who is a tad better than him so that's a no go

Agree8 Disagree5

When was the last time he played cb for Everton or holland?

Agree5 Disagree2

He played cb against us, and when he's not playing centre back he's a right back. Not once has he played as a left back. {Ed001's Note - he has played fairly regularly as a defensive midfielder too.}

Agree6 Disagree0

Heitinga is a CB/RB, he's never played as a LB so there's no reason to compare him to Bennett.

Can't see us signing him anyway

Agree5 Disagree3

Thanks for topping up my knowledge ed, wasnt aware that he's played there too. Anyway he's not the worst we could sign right now but we could certainly do better for the same price and less wages. Doubt lambert would be interested either way. {Ed001's Note - Arsenal were interested in him originally, a few years ago, as a defensive midfielder.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Benteke owned him at goodison, made him look sunday league. So doubt this will happen

ASTON VILLA FC. Leaked!
#AVFC in talks over Memphis Depay as a replacement for Nzogbia/Ireland

Believable7 Unbelievable3

He would be a good signing. Very creative player.

Agree4 Disagree2

Really? With his team mate Dries Merten? Can't see it but would love it!

Agree5 Disagree1

How old and who's he play for?

Agree4 Disagree1

19 & PSV

Agree4 Disagree0

Both Mertens (26) Depay (19) play for PSV.

Agree5 Disagree0

19 years old winger plays for PSV

Agree5 Disagree0

Leaked where exactly? On here? I love coming to read this site but 99% of the stuff posted never comes good. so why say leaked?

I would love the signing if true but this is the first I've heard of it all. let alone leaked info

Agree1 Disagree1

28 May 2013 10:32:43
Dries mertens is on pl's hit list along with murphy and drogovic from basle, also he's going to go bk to Norwich for hoolahan as the creative influence in midfield to support Westwood

Believable4 Unbelievable4

I would love Mertens but he ain't coming to Villa, he is better than that

Agree5 Disagree1

Hoolahan no way delph is a thousand times better. yes we need a midfielder but a big strong box to box midfielder not another 5 footer. no sense in this deal.

Agree5 Disagree2

Please take wes.
He's done well for us but norwich are pushing forward.
Paul lamberts a great manager but he has to make players believe in Aston villa. It's going to be a good summer for both clubs let's hope we both finish in top 10 next year.

Agree5 Disagree1

Delph is NOT better than Hoolahan. Totally different players to start with and Delph doesn't have the ability to change a game like Hoolahan. Utter rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree3

Delph is better then hoolahan already and still has more potential to be a box to box midfielder sort of like Ramires at chelski

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently villa set to sign alexander kolorov on loan from man city for the season

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Not gunna happen, massive wages, an is a poor defender, not much better than Bennett at LB, very good going forward tho

28 May 2013 00:53:21
aston villa are set to sign byern munich nils Paterson on loan for a season with a option to buy him for 2-3 mill if he's loan spell goes well the german scored 11 goals last season for werder Bremen the 24 year old is keen on the move as he wants regular football. going to replace weimenn who is going to spurs

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Interesting, although Werder Bremen announced his permanent signing for them last week.

Agree6 Disagree4

We will probably get a Dortmund player during the next window. Obviously not a massive signing but 5 m on someone like leitner or bittencourt

Agree3 Disagree6

Peterson has signed a 4 year deal with Werder, so he is not coming to Villa

Agree7 Disagree1

The same Weimann who is in talks to sign a new double your money deal? B. s!

Agree5 Disagree1

He has just signed a contract with Werder Bremen in the past week, so he's going nowhere.

Agree6 Disagree1

Is this the same Nils Peterson that's just (May 23rd), signed a four year year deal with Werder Bremen,
Stop guessing and talking rubbish!

Agree4 Disagree1

27 May 2013 20:30:27
Lambert will go for Luke Murphy and Aaron Creswell for CM and LB. Would leave us needing a CB (Dragovic linked) and a CAM/foward. Dries Mertens, Shaun Maloney anyone? Expect a surprise signing from Europe. hopefully Lambert will pull off another player in Benteke's class

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Not sure Lambert will quite manage to find someone of Benteke's quality every season.

Agree9 Disagree1

Very true. Just me being overly optimistic I guess.

Villa are set to go in for Dries Mertens, Luke Murphy & Dwight Gayle. They are also looking into potential deals for an attacking midfielder & an experienced centre back.

Believable10 Unbelievable4

Dries Mertens is an attacking midfielder.

Agree9 Disagree5

He's a winger

Agree9 Disagree2

Hes actually a striker

Agree2 Disagree7

Mertens is a quality attackin mid predominantly but can easily play on the either wing and as a 2nd striker not an out and out striker by any means. where did u hear that he might be coming villa park?would love to see him link up with his belgian counterpart benteke. but how much will he cost?

Agree7 Disagree1

He's a goalkeeper?

Maxime Lestienne, Bas Dost, Adilson Tavares Varela have all been scouted various times and appear to be targets this summer.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Nobody guessed any of lamberts signings.
I know he is a fan of cresswell Ipswich. liam bridcutt brighton. both young and hungry. they fit the mold. just hope we find another centre back. left back. young gk. centre mid. att.
and key contracts are sorted first as a priority.

Agree5 Disagree2

Adilson Tavares Varela has agreed a deal with Sunderland, we miss the boat on that one. Bas Dost has been found out in Germany, he simply ain't good enough. The De Jong brothers would be a better bet but. Can't see them down VP.

Agree1 Disagree1

Lambert relays to much on scoring goals. He is not good as a defence minded tactician. He hasn't a defensive coach and relies too much on attacking football. His second season is bound to be worse than his first. Apart from Norwich look at his past managerial record. He will jump ship at the first opportunity.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is lining up a £3m move for Peterborough's 22-year-old striker Dwight Gayle. His interest in the London-born forward is unconnected with the future of Christian Benteke.

LiamsBiz

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Is it just me or is anyone else thinking this is a real bad move? Have we not got already got the fonz and bowrey who are better yet still not good enough?

Agree3 Disagree3

Yes and no to that. Your right we do have fonz and bowery, but personally, I don't think bowery will ever be good enough he's not going to be prolific but he is fast. As for fonz, That's a tough one but I reckon he needs a proper chance just like weimann was given. As for Gayle, I have heard many high praises for him but It might be too early for him to make a impact, but who knows. We need to hit the ground running next season so let's wait and see.

Agree2 Disagree1

Fonz doesn't fit the villa system, very similar to bent in that he plays off the last man.

Agree1 Disagree1

He is different to bent he can play on wings like gabby

If Benteke leaves Aston Villa in the summer then he will be replaced by Watfords Troy Deeney regardless of whether or not Watford win promotion.

Believable3 Unbelievable15

Apparently not so, as Watford stood by Deeney during his recent spell at her majesties pleasure and with him
repaying them by signing a new contract, so look for Bentekes replacement elsewhere.

Luke Murphy's agent has confirmed that luke is in talks with Aston Villa and will complete a deal worth a around 2 million pounds when he gets back from holiday

Believable16 Unbelievable1

I heard the actual fee would be 600-800k he's on books at 500k last year of contract. would be a bargain.

Why do people find that hard to believe, he won't be as much as people think even cheaper than westy, last year of contract they could lose him on a free.

with Shay Given and maybe Brad Guzan both on their way out of Villa Park Paul Lambert is looking at Plamen Iliev to replace one of them

Believable4 Unbelievable16

Guzan will stay

Agree16 Disagree1

Illiev is only young, an not good enough to replace Guzan, so can't see him being brought in to be our No1

Agree9 Disagree0

Cant see guzan going he only signed new deal last year (got released then re-signed) also received villas players player award or supporters player 1 of the 2. he loves it at villa and fans love him so why would he leave?

Agree9 Disagree0

Given will leave & Siegrist will replace him - simple!

Agree13 Disagree3

What is the original poster on about? Guzan isn't leaving and there have been no reports saying he is either.

Very possible that PL could go back in for Lazio's Versatile Right Back "Luis Cavanda" of Lazio. This would be seen as a replacement for outgoing Eric Lichaj. He hasn't featured that much this season and is in his last year of contract could be available for as little as £1.2 million. He has great stats for the his featured games and can play left back too. I reckon this is very plausible, I would believe a good few teams will be aware of his situation. He is also a Belgium international so it would make sense

Believable15 Unbelievable4

Did u just say eric lichaj is belgium?

Agree2 Disagree6

No cavanda is Belgium

Lichajs a yank lol and he's not a villa player anymore anyway.

Lambert is said to had given the heads up to Paul Faulkner to get Luke Murphy from Crewe.
Lambert is also to give Siegrist & Grealish decent game time during preseason games in Germany this summer.

Believable16 Unbelievable1

I think that these players would add quality to the present prem. group. Hopefully all the talk will not unsettle Big Ben and the team can further develop in 2013/14. The results towards the end of the season were very encouraging and bode well. Top half of the table next season.

Agree9 Disagree2

Hopefully our chairman will take a leaf out of Daniel Levy's book on outgoing players from his club. ie fight tooth and nail to keep his best talent but if it does prove impossible to do so, ensure he gets top dollar for them
Benteke is, arguably, the best young striker in Europe. He is 22 and has 3 years left on his contract. Anything under the 30 Million + that Tottenham finally let Modric go for is a give away

Understand that Benteke's agent was completely taken aback by Benteke's comments. Also understand that Benteke and his agent have been in touch and a statement will be released soon, which will distance the player from comments made. "taken out of context" etc etc

Nevertheless, Benteke has told his agent that he wants to leave IF a bigger club tables a bid. The player wants to move to London but won't agitate for a transfer.

Villa will accept a bid of about £20 million but the club want a decision made quickly.

Believable7 Unbelievable23

Your comment was very reasonable until you said villa would except £20m lol. No, villa won't be excepting £20m! I'd put my life on that!

>Scg87

Agree23 Disagree4

Of course he will go

Agree4 Disagree14

Should be looking for 20 + add ons. Finest talent to be found for years.

Agree14 Disagree11

Go on the Birmingham mail website they have the full translated interview. Just unreliable rags trying to sell papers by stirring it up

Agree13 Disagree6

Benteke has realised he has put his foot in it, So now he is saying the things the fans want to hear him say and deny it all, Wake up people He wants to go but has to live in Birmingham before any transfer is agreed, he would much rather walk about the place without having fans slag him off He will be gone before the start of pre season

Agree12 Disagree5

The national papers just want to sell papers. IF they can come up with some BS from what they consider to be the "correct" translation to link the standout new player in the EPL to the "elite clubs" then lots of people will buy the paper.

Agree6 Disagree5

Benteke has now said his "disgust" at the reports & has called his agent in New York whom has banned him from talking to the press from now on.

Agree7 Disagree6

What else could he say, As its already been said, he realised he had put his boot in it, so he has to try and make it look like its all rubbish and he loves B-ham and wants to stay and struggle along with the Villa and not play Champions league with Arsenal, Grow up will you, He's as good as gone

Agree7 Disagree10

24 May 2013 10:25:03
Grant Holt is being linked as a possible replacement for Benteke. Should be able to get him for 5m-7.5m. Lambert rates him very highly.

Jim

Believable4 Unbelievable25

5m-7.5m for a 31yo who has had an average season? I don't think so

Agree16 Disagree4

Total rubbish. If Lambert had wanted Holt he'd have done something last term. In no way does he conform to the player profile Villa are interested in. too old, not good enough and absolutely no re sale value.

Agree15 Disagree4

How about Lambert from the saints?

Agree3 Disagree12

Norwich have Told Lambert and the rest of the football world No first team member are for sale, We have no Debt and no need to be forced into selling anyone especially Villa

Agree7 Disagree8

Holt would love the chance to team up with Lambert again. They have had 3seasons together with holt scoring 75 goal under his old boss.

. It will happen!

Agree2 Disagree11

If we sign holt I am to the moon so I don't have to hear or see anything to do with football ever again.

Agree8 Disagree3

If we sign holt I will get a refund on my season ticket and stick my head down a toilet for a season so I don't have to watch

Agree7 Disagree2

Holts age is against him and his performance has started to wane slightly so a move to Villa is a natural progression and makes sense.

Agree3 Disagree5

Wilfried Bony

Agree10 Disagree1

Amazing how the Canaries keep cheaping on our site. Fat boy Holt would walk to B6 to match up with Lambert. Come to think about it, several of the team would do similar. However I doubt that Lambert would want them. isn't that why he was prepared to leave in the first place.

Agree4 Disagree0

I don't think any of the above posts are by Norwich fans.

Agree2 Disagree3

Holts a lazy player with no passion anymore since being snubbed by England for the World Cup

Agree2 Disagree0

Stop this obsession with Norwich {Ed007's Note - Says the Norwich fan on a Villa forum.}

Agree2 Disagree2

You may all mock Grant holt, but Paul Lambert has the ability to bring out the best in certain players, if you signed Holt I'm sure he would be good for 15 goals and a hat full of assists.

I do not belive for one minute Villa would be interested in Holt, he is a legend at Norwich and should stay there.

I would rather have Holt than Bent, would you?

Honest NCFC Fan.

Aston Villa are preparing a bid of around £5m for Hull centre back James Chester

Believable6 Unbelievable12

I'd rather that money goes to getting Lescott

Agree12 Disagree5

£5? you really think Villa would pay that much, more like £1. 5. Last year of contract

Agree14 Disagree1

Lescott is not joining! No matter what some fans want and no matter how many times those fans say it, it isn't going to happen.

James Chester is exactly the type of player Lambert would look at, although 5m is a daft price being quoted on here

Agree11 Disagree4

Lescott could join. It's World Cup year he's not getting played he will obviously stand out at us. Then with a back 4 of lowton vlaar lescott baker we can kick on for top 8 as long as we keep benteke. And sign a goalscoring/ creative midfielder luke murphy from Crewe or will Hughes from derby.

Agree8 Disagree7

While the reasons for Lescott joining the Villa stack up (for him to be playing reqularly, local lad, world cup to think of) this is 100% not going to happen.

It would go against everything Lambert has said.

I am a fan of Lescott and agree he would undoubtedly do a very good job for us alongside Vlaar but it amazes me that people think it could actually happen.

Im going out on a limb here but if by some miracle Lescott starts for us first game of next season I will write everyone on here a personal apology. Its not going to happen!

Agree8 Disagree0

No way will Lambert let him go aswel as bent, he will stay for at least another season. And Lerner will back him or he'll be looking for a new manager!

Agree0 Disagree1

James Chester is going nowhere 100% he stated before we got promoted that if we did so he would sign a new contract, why would he join villa and risk not playing whereas if he stayed with hull he would be a guaranteed starter providing he was fit, nothing in the rumour!

Agree1 Disagree2

90k a week would need to take a 50k cut off which is 55% of his wage, would you seriously take a pay cut of 55 per cent?. No and I don't think he wikl

Agree2 Disagree3

Who else in the league would pay lescott more than 40k-50k a week? No one. If lescott wants to go to the WC next summer then he has to move, so unless he's willing to sit on the bench at city an lose his place in the England squad he'll leave an take a massive pay cut

Agree4 Disagree1

Lescott should want to give himself the best possible chance of making the plane to Rio next year so he needs to be playing regularly to do so and would be gerat to see him down the Villa. However with Cahill, Smalling, Jones, Dawson, Caulker, Jagielka etc also competing he may not even be involved even if he is playing so he may go the other way and be happy to pick up his bigger wages and not play too much.

I think people would be amazed at some of the wages teams in the Prem do pay and I actually think there are a few teams outside of this seasons top four who would pay in excess of 40/50k; Spurs and Liverpool obv would. West Ham and Newcastle are paying big wages to players as do Fulham and Sunderland and Lescott would probably improve all of those teams.

Luckily, his agent sounds more confident he will stay at AV

Agree2 Disagree9

Contract talks haven't broken down, tactics used to get more money out of villa.

Agree7 Disagree1

Christian Benteke insists he will leave Aston Villa if one of the Premier League's top clubs wants to sign him. He wants out. The club is to small for him and he doesn't want to be involved in a relagation battle every season.!
Jimgooner

Agree5 Disagree4

Would not be a surprise if Benteke moves on. Arsenal have the money and need a goalscorer. Reckon Randy will turn down £20M for him? No, thought not.

Agree6 Disagree6

I can't hold it against benteke wanting to leave for a bigger club, but its the way he goes about getting a move that's important to me, he cost £8m an has more than paid us back.

Some of the quotes from him that I'm reading are sounding far to disrespectful to the club an fans, he's aggressively seeking a move to another club an is making not so subtle threats in public about what he'll do to get his move.

Strong reports from Holland suggest Aston Villa are tracking Alkmaar ace Jozy Altidore - No official approach has been made until Darren Bent is moved on but high interest is apparent according to a club official.

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Looks good 6ft1 american 23yr old striker who's scored 20 goals this season for AZ Alkmaar

Agree6 Disagree8

He's off to stoke

Agree2 Disagree9

No way he would go stoke a lot of top clubs are monitoring him from spain and italy including catania. He scored 23 plus 8 cup goals. Woudd be interesting to see him linked up with benteke. yes very strong player

Agree4 Disagree2

Forget about him, what's going on with benteke? Just been reading some stuff about him going on sky!

Agree5 Disagree1

What "stuff" u talkin about re benteke?!

Agree2 Disagree0

He was probably mis heard he will stay another year at least he said he owes lambert.

Agree3 Disagree3

Its called agent tactics - its all about getting the best wages for him possible and making the team sweat. its been happening for how long and still peiple can't figure it out? the media also has a big hand in this and will lie about teams interested to do same thing and sell papers and stories.

Agree7 Disagree0

Altidore is s****! He'll be a waste of space at villa

Agree8 Disagree5

Isn't this the player that was at hull and couldn't score 4 toffee

Agree9 Disagree3

How is altidore ****? he's scored 30+ in a weak an poor season for AK he has been outstanding and a standout. Yes he had an awful run at hull but hull were terrible that season. and don't forget he was only 20 and unsettled due to villareal misusing him sending him out on loan to many teams he was never given a good run until alkmaar. similar situation to freddy adu except altidore has been given a proper crack at the whip and has progressed so well in the past two seasons he is definately prepared for that step up.

Agree4 Disagree8

At hull he was like 17 and being played on the wing. He's a striker

Agree4 Disagree7

Altidore was 20yo when at Hull.
An I stand by what I said about him being s****! He's all physicality, no technical ability what so ever. An the fact he's scored so many goals in holland is an indictment on that league

Agree6 Disagree2

This is typical journalists making stories up if benteke really wanted to leave regardless of any offers wouldn't he put a transfer request in?

Agree0 Disagree3

Not necessarilly, how many footballers put in transfer request nowadays? Very few, They don't seem to like making it official, although as a last resort he will do that. {Ed001's Note - they don't because it costs them their laughably named 'loyalty bonus' if they put in a written transfer request. That is a percentage of their remaining contract and is usually millions. For instance Joe Cole last season was due a payment of £4m when Liverpool let him go on a free to West Ham. Considering he was going home, would get a large signing bonus and regular football, you would have thought he would just go, but he fought for as much as he could get.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Have you seen him play? theirs more to his game than strength. Many would agree holland is a stronger league than belguim and last season altidore scored 21 goals where benteke managed 19, this season 31 total. How can you say the Eredivisie league is weak when Benteke came from a weaker Belgian Pro-league to be a top 4 striker in the bpl?

Agree2 Disagree5

I've seen Altidore play for the USA this season, I can't dispute the goals he's got, but as a player I don't rate him, an what I've seen of him he's not improved since he left Hull an I don't think he'd be an improvement on Gabby or Weimann, so he'd be a squad player IMO, an it worries me that you seem to think he'd come in an take the prem by storm, never gunna happen IMO

Agree4 Disagree0

I watch the Dutch league, probably to much lol no doubt it's technically a fantastic league but defensively it's one of the worst out of the major European leagues, any player who scores goals in that league I wouldn't praise to highly until they prove it in a top league. Very few prolific goal scorers come out of holland an carry on being prolific.

On Altidore, I just don't see him making an impact at villa, he's hard working an is a strong runner but I don't think he'll get anywhere near the amount of goals in the prem that he's got in holland. i'd think there's better options out there.

>Scg87

Agree7 Disagree0

He won't sign for us but I'll stick by what I said by saying he's a good player. Better than weimann as a striker imo.

footballer Liam Prynn will complete a dream move to Premier Division Aston Villa this summer after a 'compensation package' was agreed with Torquay United.

The 16-year-old, from Constantine, will put pen to paper on a two-year scholarship on July 5, before he turns professional in 2015 after agreeing a one-year contract.

It is rare for players of this age to be offered pro terms so soon, but Villa officials have been so impressed they were keen to tie the young Cornishman down, with several other top flight clubs keen to sign him.

Prynn, who goes to Penryn Sports College, was in the West Midlands with his family at the weekend to discuss his move to Villa Park after the Villains reached a financial agreement with League Two Torquay, the club the teenager has been at since the age of 13.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

He is really tiny

Agree4 Disagree2

No chance that we would pay a 20 year old who has just been released by Arsenal 25k a week!

Agree6 Disagree2

He's 20 a free agent after being released by Arsenal at the start of May can't see him being on 25k a week qouted more like 3-5k. he's 5ft3 and plays as a winger also as a LEFT BACK

Agree5 Disagree0

Could be a replacement for Lichaj who's just been released

Agree4 Disagree5

I liked what I seem of him I think against panathanikos or olypiakos one of them. He's more of a left wing back nowadays so rotating him and Bennett would be good and would get one playing consistent

Agree1 Disagree0

You can't play someone that small in defense, you need to be able to head it, which is hard when some players will be a foot taller than him.

Agree3 Disagree0

Cant you?

As Lambert wants another experienced CB if he's willing to take a paycut from his rumored 90k a week wage.

Aarron Cresswell
As Lambert seeing the LB positon as a priority to strentghen

Luke Murphy
As Lambert wants a creative midfielder

Lambert also wants another CB who can play LB also and a striker

The Following have been told they can find a new club:

Bent, Given, Ireland, N'zogbia, Makoun (deal done), Hutton (deal done), KEA

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Never going to sell KEA

Agree10 Disagree1

Apparently KEA has been told he can leave if he finds a club as Lambert never scouted him he was reccomended to him from the previous scouting set up.

Agree5 Disagree3

Yep we were linked with KEA well before lambert was appointed.

Agree3 Disagree1

Whos KEA?

Agree2 Disagree2

Karim El Ahmadi

Agree6 Disagree0

Plus he hardly even makes the bench

Agree2 Disagree1

Paul Lambert tried to sign KEA when he was manager of Norwich, but KEA never wanted to go because he though Norwich wasn't a big enough club for him. Hopefully he finds himself a new club, even coming on from off the bench he adds nothing to the team and its a waste of time wasting wages on him when we could sign someone younger who would be on a lower wage and could do a better job and has potential

Agree4 Disagree2

Kea started well but it just seems he thinks he's made it now when imo he's poor. Get rid

Agree2 Disagree1

KEA was good in pre-season & has a few good games this season but so very inconsistent, maybe he's adjusting to the EPL possibly.

Hutton 1.5m
Bannan 5m

And Dunne and Petrov contracts expired

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Agree10 Disagree0

Be lucky to get £5m for given and bannan, given is old so will only be bought for pennies by one of the teams in the bottom ten and bannan will only go to the championship so nobody will pay £5m. However if we do get 5 for both that's great business!

Believable8 Unbelievable7

He'll be closer to £4m than £7m.
I think he's a cheaper option to Bent but I think we can do better possibly.

Agree11 Disagree2

I heard at least 5 but not exactly sure that's why I put 5-7 but I certainly agree we should be aiming a lot higher mate

Agree6 Disagree1

1 year left on his contract, he will be leaving for between 3-5m. Only 23, done amazingly well since leaving Poole Town and would be good for Villa IN THE FUTURE.
Not a money grabber and will happily wait for his chance to break into the first team.
A good buy if you ask me.

Agree10 Disagree3

Like Villa are going to waste £7 mill on a striker like that, get real. Mbokani would make more sense that Austin but I don't see that happening either. Dwight Gayle or some unknown is going to be more likely to be recruited.

Agree4 Disagree3

I don't think villa would pay 5-7m for him though I reckon if it happens it's more likely to be 2-4 with add ons

Agree2 Disagree3

A very poor buy if u ask me he is overated and wouldn't score many goals in the Pl he just doesent have the technical ability

Agree4 Disagree5

Villa will have cash when they sell the only 2 good players they have.

Agree5 Disagree3

Will have cash? Lerner has a load of cash, billions of it!
It's just we are sorting out a new strategy & fixing the problems MON left for us.

Agree6 Disagree1

How would you know that he doesn't have the technical ability? He's scored again prem clubs and I have no don't iny mind that he would be a success

Agree2 Disagree2

So who are these 'only 2 good players' then?and why would we have to sell them as we are sure to get a decent kitty anyway?and any1 who thinks austin has what it takes in pl will be sorely mistaken.

Agree1 Disagree1

We spent 9. 5 on young who was also not already in the prem so why is it so hard to believe we would spend 7 on a striker? If Lambert think he'll come good in the prem and intern be an asset then why not.

Agree1 Disagree2

I think Charlie Austin could be a good move to enhance the squad as if we are (hopefully) sticking with the 4-3-3 formation then we need extra cover for Benteke and Bowery (to a lessor extent) in the central spot (presuming Bent and Delfouneso leave).

Agree that anything over 4m would be a gambe so can't see PL going above that sum on he basis that if it doesn't work out and we move him on we don't take that much of a hit financialy

Agree1 Disagree0

PL won't be allowed to spend more than £3mil on any player so it's the lower leagues again

Agree2 Disagree5

If austin gets a move to prem u can bet it will be for a team that ends up going down

Agree4 Disagree2

Must be signing for Norwich if that is tnhe case.

Dieumerci Mbokani to join Villa this summer for a reported £5m

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Mbokani similar to benteke so not sure what he will add. ?would bolster overall squad depth though.

Agree4 Disagree4

Both up top would either be a: really good or. B: really really bad

Agree0 Disagree0

We should take a look at imoh Ezekiel from the Belgian league he's only 18 and he's scored 17 goals this season. Probably quicker than gabby as well

Agree4 Disagree0

Good signing as we need experience up front not just aload of 18-22 year olds!

Agree3 Disagree0

Well he would be quickest in prem then as gabby already fastest despite wanting to be a muscle bound freak lol

Agree1 Disagree2

Mobkani's likely destination the baggies to replace lukaku I think, unfortunately.

Agree2 Disagree3

Lambert thought we didn't need 18-22yr olds we'd never of Brought Benteke, Westwood or Bowery and Weinmann wouldn't play this Ezekiel sounds good to me and would be another Lukkaku being a bit of a super sub for awhile till Benteke gets his big money move next summer

Agree2 Disagree2

What I meant was we don't need a strike force entirely consisting of all 18-22year olds - if to be successful as a team you need experience aswell as youth and with bent leaving we need a new experienced striker

Charles N'Zogbia is set to join Monaco in a deal worth £10m.

Believable5 Unbelievable9

£10m? I know they're rich but they're not stupid!

Agree13 Disagree0

Great business if true

Agree10 Disagree0

I know Monaco have money, but £10m for Zog seems unlikely to me

>scg87

Agree16 Disagree0

Where did u hear this?an extra 10 mil would really help us boost the entire squad. if zog was to play to 100% of his ability every match then I actually think he IS worth that.

Agree7 Disagree1

But we all know that's once ever 10 games, just hope Monaco haven't caught onto that.
I would personally bite thir hand of for anything above 6m.
55k off the wage budget and money in the transfer kitty.

Agree2 Disagree0

Definitely see this happening, zog not wanted at the villa anymore, failed to produce for long spells! Think it will be more like 7-8 than 10 though

Agree3 Disagree1

4m at most

Haha yes he is m8 still might be good

So was alan wright but he was ok

Agree8 Disagree1

I would take the risk he's a good player.

Agree1 Disagree1

An old saying comes to mind "Its not the size of the dog that matters, It's the size of the fight in the dog"

Alan Wright would fight for the ball all day long and was like a whippit on the ball.

Where as Bannan is one of the most skilled players we have but is easilly pushed off the ball and is scared to attack the ball in tackling.

So for I don't care bout a players height but more about what there willing to do on the pitch.

Danny Crowley 15 dubbed the new jack wilshire and future egnland ace, the best talent we have produced in the last 10 years (look him up) and where about to sell him for 1m to arsenal. this makes me so angry should be tryin to keep hold of players like him.

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Where have you heard about this Crowley transfer? It was only last week that Lambert was talking about him as one for the future and a potential Villa star! Very disappointing if you're right!

Agree11 Disagree1

Heard about Dan Crowley leaving last week, we're not selling him, we have no choice, Dan is still 15yo so can leave if he wants, the fee we recieve will probably be decided by a tribunal.

The reason he's leaving is probably because arsenal are offering a half a million pound house to his family, that's just my guess though.

>Scg87

Agree14 Disagree0

Just search his google couple of good sources and newspapers reporting he's off

Agree8 Disagree0

Will be very very disappointing is he goes imagine him and Gardner, caruthers, greleash all in one team would be quality

Villa and Everton weighing up a move for Aiden Mcgeady but is he worth the 9.5m price tag being qouted

Believable4 Unbelievable14

The only thing that would make sense from this is the experience he would bring but I would be shocked if villa bought him for a sum anywhere near that, its a no hoper and his club will not sell on the cheap. Plus. he will have no sell on value so no chance will this be happening.

Agree4 Disagree1

He sai he wanted to leave and would take a pay cut, so maybe they would accept 5 mill, and he is a brilliant player it is just marred by I'll discipline, if lambert ca get him to calm Dow it could prove to be a very good signing

Agree2 Disagree2

Bad bad bad move goes against everything we've done this season and would be demoralising to some of the players me would think

Agree2 Disagree1

Definitely DO NOT want mcgeady. we pay out for him that's most our budget. we won't buy anyone over 25 yrs old or anyone over 6-7 million because its jus the way villa work buy them young and cheap and develop the balls out of them. look at westwood lowton etc. no mcgeady not the 'villa way'

Agree2 Disagree1

Didn't PL sign Vlaar, El Ahmadi an re signed Guzan? Who are over 25 if I'm not wrong.

I wouldn't be surprised if we signed players between 25 an 28 but I don't think McGeady is the right type of player we need. We need to sign a CB an a LB maybe another DM before we sign wingers or striker

Villa contemplating re-signing Harry Forrester from Brentford,

Believable11 Unbelievable12

You shouldn't of mentioned brentford. People disagree purely for a low league team. If it said barca it would be a different story

Agree3 Disagree4

People disagreed purely because forrester is not gunna improve our team an wouldn't even improve our reserve team, so it would be a pointless signing.
Let's hope it's not true

Agree8 Disagree3

I would have him over Bannan any day of the week! At least he has a little something about him, unlike wee Jimmy Krankie who like a place kicker in grid iron can only take corners

Luke Murphy in talks with Villa according to close sources - likely to be first signing!

Believable15 Unbelievable3

Murphy will sign within 2-3 weeks for 3-4m, once Villas players have signed new contracts.

And followed by Charlie Austin for 4m

Agree10 Disagree5

It won't be as high as £4m as he's entering his final year of contract and will be available for £1-£2m at the very most.

Agree5 Disagree3

Austin will cost more than 4mill

Agree3 Disagree8

Why would we need Austin? Bench player same role as benteke but all round weaker

Agree1 Disagree6

Austin will be a bench warmer at most. Prefer a different type to him as Bowery will develop this year.

Agree3 Disagree3

I've heard a lot of fans talk of bent not being able to fit in to PLs style of football, if that's the case why is Austin being targeted as a potential signing? Good striker but He's just as one dimensional as bent

Agree6 Disagree4

But a lot cheaper wouldn't demand hhigh wages and will sign for 2-4m

Agree3 Disagree2

Why would burnley sell Austin for
1m-2m? They might aswell keep him for his last year of his contract an hope he fires them in to the prem.
He'll cost 4m minimum cus anythin less wouldn't be worth them selling

Agree9 Disagree3

Murphy will be cheap £1-2m, Austin is not a type of player Lambert will sign when we already have many strikers capable of doing what he does and probably better. some people have no clue about football.

Agree4 Disagree4

Murphy will cost approx £2 - 2.5 million if villa sign him soon. Otherwise they may get involved in a bidding war as man united have made a opening bid of £800, 00. which has been turned down (think they were taking the -iss with this offer).

Villa eyeing a move for Chalie Austin from Burnley 23 yr old striker who's scored 28 goals this season

Believable11 Unbelievable6

He would play on the bench don't see the point really

Agree6 Disagree11

Its a squad game pal so quality on the bench is as important as quality on the pitch.

Agree12 Disagree2

And he's a cheaper option to Darren Bent (who's younger and hungrier) as much as Bent is a preditor in front of goal our team just doesn't suit him anymore as our strikers work more in creating goals rather than having it served to him.

Agree8 Disagree2

Have any of you watched him? Seriously he's not that good, he scored I think 23 goals in the first 13 games and the 5 all season I just hope this deal dosent go threw

Agree3 Disagree4

I used to go to a lot of Swindon games. He's class but will need 1 year to settle in before he becomes as prolific as he is in the championship

Local journos rekon Lambert wants Jeffrey Bruma, Chelsea open to offers too apparently?

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Good move I think. Should be reasonably priced (sum and salary) and has experience playing abroad in Germany.

For me if we are building on a 'budget' the key is to get players who can do the job required of them. I think we all know we need a CB and a LB as the priority this summer. Now why I would love Lescott/Douglas or A and Other 'big' name player we have to be realistic. Players like (CB) Wes Morgan, David Wheater, Adrian Mariappa, Alex Pearce, (LB) Joe Mattock and Chris Gunter are all players who will be in the Championship next season but are good solid players who could all improve our 'regular' back 4 (with Vlaar and Lowton) and I would not be surprised if these are the type of players Lambert looks at.

Agree1 Disagree17

Bennett was considered a solid LB last season but now he's seen as the worst defender ever to play for villa. I think we need a CB an a LB who have proven they can play in the prem, it doesn't have to be the likes of Douglas or Lescott who earns big money, but players like Figueroa on a free and
M Olsson (£3m-£5m) who have experience of prem football, are not on big wages an are obviously good enough an wouldn't cost a silly amount of money Or if we look abroad there's the likes of Pieters at PSV who wouldn't cost any more than £5m, who has experience at the highest levels an can handle the physical pressures of the prem aswell as having the ability to play at this level.

>Scg87

Agree14 Disagree2

Players like Olsson and Figueroa while both will improve our team will probably want wages bigger then what we are prepared to pay.

Just because we are looking to get some players off the wage bill that doesn't mean we will use that 'availability' and give those sums to other players; the wage bill is still not where RL wants it.

We also need to be mindful that other teams will be interested in players like Figueroa and Olsson and they will undoubtedly be prepared to offer larger salaries then Villa. Yes they may not be looking for 60+k per week but there will be teams who are prepared to offer more then say 30/40k which may be our sealing

Agree0 Disagree10

We all expect these players to leave>
Bent 80k a week ish
Given 60k a week ish
Ireland 60k a week ish
Dunne 40k a week ish
Makoun 40k a week ish agreed 2 leave
Hutton 30k a week ish
Warnock 30k a week ish already gone

Total saving of £340k a week.

Are you saying we can't afford to pay 2 maybe 3 players with experience an proven ability 40k a week each?

Villa are already on track to making a profit this time next year, so using some of the savings made from selling them players would be a smart move.

Sign>>
Lescott 40k-50k a week
Olsson on 30k-40k a week
Rauol Low 30k-40k a week

Then we'll almost certainly be competing in the top 8 again, so I'd say that's money well spent an in the end would pay for themselves.

>Scg87

Agree13 Disagree3

No team in the prem would pay figueroa who's 29/30 more than 30k a week.

An I don't think any team in the prem would pay Olsson any more than 40k a week.

An ask yourself who would pay Lescott big money? Everton? I doubt they pay more than 50k a week at the most, considering they are in massive debt

so if we can't pay that type of money for a couple players, then why should I re new my season ticket, when we seem happy to gamble on lower league players.

Agree10 Disagree1

Lescot is on 90k at city mate I think he'd want around the 60k make

Agree2 Disagree1

Warnock was on a lot more than 30k a week as far as i'm aware. More like 45/50k a week.

Agree4 Disagree10

We all kno Lescott is on big money at city, but no other team in the prem would pay anywhere near that so unless he's willing to take a massive pay cut he'll not get another club coming in for him. Unless you think everton can afford to pay that kind of wage? Cus I don't

Agree9 Disagree0

Whoever put.

'so if we can't pay that type of money for a couple players, then why should I re new my season ticket, when we seem happy to gamble on lower league players. '

Have you not watched Villa this season or listened to anything Lambert has said?!?! There is no chance we will be spending big bucks on wages and that has been made clear. Stop being delusional, be realistic and open your eyes to the possibility that there are good footballers in the world other then Lescott!

Westwood, Lowton and Benteke all came from lower level leagues and have fitted in to the Prem very well.

Agree1 Disagree8

'Are you saying we can't afford to pay 2 maybe 3 players with experience an proven ability 40k a week each?'

Its not a case of not being able to afford it; Lambert has made it clear that we will NOT be signing players of that ilk.

To use your estimations of wages people are paid and then assume we can use that to get new players is ridiculous. I have said it on here before, there is not just a big pot of money that is for wages and is to be distributed as PL sees fit. It is principally based on turnover which is (majority part) generated by match days an attendances have been down this season (in comparison to say 3 seasons ago) which has a knock on effect on the food and drink sold and also the footfall through the club shop.

Please open your eyes to wider the picture and notice we are now being run like a Business, with restrictions. You simply can't justify an argument by saying we're getting rid of A, B, C so that's means we have to get D, E, F!

In 2012 we reported record losses of £53.9million for the prior financial year despite a cash injection of £25million from Randy Lerner and you believe we are set to turn a profit next year, get real!

Agree0 Disagree8

In 2012 we were 50m odd in debt? Well in march I read we were 25m in debt, an keeping in mind the premier league money goes up from 33m to 60m nex season, we'll be in the green an with "a b an c" leaving lol we'll be in the profit, NO DOUBT about that!

Providing the deadwood on big money leave, our wage budgit will have been halved in the space of 12 months, so use your common sense or maybe just use math an work it out, they'll be plenty left in the budgit to sign players on 30k-40k a week.

Time will tell.

Agree7 Disagree1

When lambert said we won't be spending big bucks as you put it, he means they'll be no more DB signing for 20m or 60k-80k wages. I don't think he means playerS on 30k-40k as "big bucks".

There is absolutely no reason why we can't have players on 40k a week, there's talk of a debt, but the last finances I saw has us on track to making a profit next season, even if we end up keeping all the big earners we'll still be in the black next season, so if bent Ireland etc leave we'll have more than enough in the budgit to sign players on 30k-40k a week

Agree7 Disagree0

Benteke came from lower leagues? What are you on lol

Agree6 Disagree1

It says lower level leagues, which the belgian league is compared to the Prem!

I am so happy that some of you lot are not running our Club cause you have absolutely no clue.

Agree0 Disagree7

Benteke was a full international lol
regardless of what country or league he was playing in

Agree6 Disagree1

Claming someone was a full international as justification is pretty poor as that argument could be levied at all footballers playing for obscure countries, but its ok we should sign them cause they are full internationals.

Im sure you was one of the muppets demanding Lambert be sacked during the Christmas period and also the same muppets who blame MoN for everything.

YAWN!

Agree0 Disagree5

Yes, but benteke was a full international for Belgium who have a national squad full of up and coming stars, so I believe there is a lot of justification. If we were talking about some unknown international from the republic of congo or somewhere like that then u may have reason, but we are not. You are arguing for the sake of arguing and perhaps should just shut up

Agree5 Disagree1

Actually mate, i'm a big fan of PL, the football we've been playing is great, an I'd say PL has signed some real gems, and even at Xmas I was behind PL, in fact I was one of the few who said even if we get relegated we should keep Lambert.

So in conclusion, I don't know what your point is? Lol

Agree4 Disagree0

So Benteke was a well known International before we signed him? A name on everyones lips? The next big think in European football? No didn't think so.

Game over!

Agree0 Disagree4

Game over? Lol
You might not have known benteke an he wasn't a house hold name here, but in belgium he was a full international, an scoring goals, an was being scouted by multiple EPL teams, but PL was the only one willing to gamble £8m on him, so he was far from an unknown.

Game over? It is now! :)

Agree3 Disagree0

It ain't over till its over.

My initial point was that someone was not happy renewing their season tickets if we are signing lower level players and I was simply stating that many of our better players this season fell into the category. In your opinion you wouldn't class Benteke as an unknown before we signed him whereas I would. At the end of the day I have full faith in PL to continue to make signings from lower level leagues which are cheaper and more cost effective to the Club as a business then the expensive more established names being banded about.

Agree0 Disagree2

Signing players from lower leagues is fair enough when things are going well, but when things are not going well we will all be complaining we need experience or prem standard players.
An keeping in mind we only survived by the skin of our teeth, it's only the smart thing to do to sign established quality, I really don't think signing 2 players on 40k a week will send us in to a spiral of financial meltdown

Agree2 Disagree0

And I agree that signing a few players on a larger salary would not put the club in real financial trouble but it just isn't going to happen. Lerner is still driving the need to reduce the wage bill and for anyone who saw Lambert on the Footballer's Football show last night he made it pretty clear that he will be looking to bring in more young talents and not experienced players, he categorically said he will not be changing his ethos. Big comparisions were made with Dortmund and what they have done over the last 4/5 years with blooding the youth and signing relative 'unknowns' from lower level clubs (Lewandowski came from the Polish leagues and I believe Subotic was playing for Mainz a yo yo team in Germany).

Every fan would love the named stars but it just ain't going to happen and that ethos Lambert is running with is because of the stance of the board. Yes we only just stayed up this season but if we had six more games left the way we were playing I think we could have easily finihed mid table.

Experience helps but not just for the sake of it

Bent out, Benteke to stay, main worry being whether we can get Weimann staying or not.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

He's done an announcement on tv before todays game saying he's been at villa 6 years and he's loved every minute and the that he loves the club.

I don't think he'd be saying that if he didn't intend on staying I think he and Benteke just want more money that's all they both seem very happy Villa judging on statements from the pair

Agree7 Disagree0

We need to get viemen to sign a contract what ever it costs I will persanolly clean his toilet for a week to get him to sign a new deal

Agree8 Disagree2

Weimann is staying - said it himself

Agree7 Disagree6

Wake up will you Players say what the fans want to hear, Don't mean he means it and cirtainly don't mean if he is offered a bigger and better contract away he would chose to stay at Villa

Agree6 Disagree5

My uncle has a directors seat at villa and has spoken to flaukner and other main bodys at villa and even when the speculation about weimann started they said him staying on wasnt a concern and a deal would bemade at end of season, benteke will also stay assuming we don't get offered stupid money (30mil +) which I realistically doubt

Agree3 Disagree5

£30m isn't stupid money, it's the minimum we should get for benteke if he leaves

Agree11 Disagree3

Im not saying he isn't worth 30mil + to us just simply the fee would have to be in the excess of this, which I doubt many clubs would fancy at the moment, he's had 1 good season but so many times a player has done this and lost out on money, benteke needs another solid season then he will leave for a large sum. I personally think he will stay, 1year of first team football and being a hero will not only boost his Belgium chances but increase his worth, which in the long run is what he and the club will want.

Villa are looking at Iago Aspas & Luke Murphy to come in this summer.
Both players could command prices around £4-5m each.

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Luke Murphy 4-5m Powell signed for Man u for 2m and Westwood for 1m so don't you think 1-3m {Ed001's Note - United paid £6.6m for Powell!}

Agree2 Disagree4

Murphy will cost about £5m probably but probably with plenty of add-ons but i'm sure Lambert will bid on him after the amount of times he's gone to watch him.

Agree2 Disagree4

DI'D be surprised if we pay more than £3m-£4m for Murphy, he's unproven remember. Aspas is real quality, surprised the bigger clubs don't seem to be interested in him.

Agree9 Disagree1

Bigger clubs let the intermediatry clubs like us take the risk on these players and then they cherry pick with us picking up a profit

Just heard Aston Villa are looking to Loan Lukaku from Chelsea.

Darren Bent also rumoured to be going to West Brom for £4m to replace Lukaku.

Believable9 Unbelievable11

Villa wouldn't sell Bent to West Brom & certainly not for a mediocre £4m! that's a loss of £20m!

Agree9 Disagree3

No one is going to pay a fortune for Bent. We want to sell, he wants to leave - that drives the price way down.
We need him off the wage bill. £4 million sounds about right

Agree3 Disagree9

Bents fee was 18 mill plus add ons.
No add ons activated due to lack of playing. so loss smaller but still, thanks to O'Neill, massive. But have to get him out and off wage bill. would prob accept 6-8 mill.

Agree5 Disagree6

Villa will sell bent & he wants to leave. But it will be for about 10mil

Agree6 Disagree2

What has o Neil got to do with Bent? Houllier signed him

Agree11 Disagree0

Bent will go for 6-10m tops depending on how many clubs want him so now that's Everton, Fulham and Baggies

Agree6 Disagree1

Who will pay10 m for bent when there's better strikers for less he's worth 5m

Agree4 Disagree4

Could always just play bent and see he's just what we need, a proven goal scorer. scary how good him and benteke could be together given the hance I think. shame the wage is so high

Agree3 Disagree1

How it's martin oneills fault when he was signed by houiller I would like you to explain that one to me bet you was not complaining when his goals kept us in the premiership

Agree4 Disagree0

Villa wanted £12 million last season. That price has halved at least.

£6 million, maybe less

Agree4 Disagree3

Looking back on things, I am not the biggest fan of O'Neill's transfer policy but blaming him for a Houllier signing (Bent) is a bit harsh

Agree8 Disagree1

How can you pin this one on O'Neil when it was Houllier that bought him?
£4mill sounds cheap but realistically we won't get much more. Best to sell for whatever and get him off wage bill

Agree5 Disagree2

Bent no matter who he plays for will bag 15 goals a season, we need to get rid of him but he's still worth atleast 8m

Agree3 Disagree2

6 million would be a good deal considering all factors

Agree5 Disagree3

Norwich signed RVW for 8m, why would anyone buy Bent for that much. I would take 3m. Played next to no games, crippling our wage bill and no relegation clause to reduce costs if we were to go down. let's get rid of him please.

Agree1 Disagree6

Lerner will never take a loss of £20m on a perfectly good player!

Agree0 Disagree5

Van Wolfswinkle might have cost £8m but he's unproven in the prem, Bent for £8m would be a bargain for any club because he's a proven prem goal scorer, we all know what you'll get with bent, he guarentees goals, chances are RVW will be a flop, it's only common sense.

But I do think because PL has made it blatently obvious he doesn't want DB, he has devalued him, which I think shows his lack of experience

Dortmund likely to sign Benteke as replacement for Lewandowski. German club set to offer £20 million for the forward, the whole sum payable over 4 years, according to German media reporting.

Believable5 Unbelievable19

Did benteke not say, he is happy at villa!

Agree16 Disagree4

£20m over 4 years? £5m a year? We could loan him out for £5m a year Lol so why would we except that? Nonsense!

Agree18 Disagree4

Because that is how most transfers are constructed, especially continental club deals. When we signed Bent, most of the money went to Spurs because Sunderland hasn't finished paying for the player.

Agree5 Disagree12

The deal is done based on 2 teams agreeing, an if we decide to agree to a deal where we only get £5m a season over 4 seasons, then someone seriously needs to be sacked.
I guarentee you the €40m that Munchen are paying for Gotze will not be paid over 4 years.

Agree9 Disagree2

Benteke isn't leaving aston villa as things stand - papers are always are just looking to get people to buy their papers, doesn't mean what you see is true.

Agree8 Disagree1

Absolutely guaranteed that Gotzes fee is payable over instalments.
It's how nearly all transfer fees are paid.

Dortumund more likely to sign Dzeko for 12-15m instead of Benteke for 22-25m.

Benteke will not be leaving this summer for less that 25m, and this will have to be paid 70% up front.

Agree9 Disagree1

The bigger clubs don't need money up front, but its the teams like villa that need to sell, and use that money to buy replacements. Without transfers out we won't be able to get ins, where as teams that turnover 100's of millions a year can splash that on players and use sales as a constant income for the next few seasons. There is no way we could afford to only gain £5m a year and lose our biggest member of the team, because we wouldn't get a replacement half as good for that. IF benteke does go, we will not accept the payment in instalments, we cannot afford to.

Agree6 Disagree6

Benteke's keeps saying how happy at Villa

His agent, Him and Lambert have said he'll 99% stay

Agree7 Disagree1

Almost certain that Benteke will stay.

But most transfers are conducted in installments. Until last season the only club that paid and received transfers up front was Newcastle.

How difficult is this: pretty much every transfer has an "up front" fee which is paid in installments, normally over the length of the players contract. "Up front" doesn't mean a lump sum. It means that part of the fee that isn't dependent on clauses.

Agree4 Disagree2

What else would they say?
There not going to come out an say he's off

Agree5 Disagree1

Lambert can not be trusted. He said he would not leave norwich nd he did. Benteke will leave. Don't trust lambert. Come on the villa

Agree4 Disagree4

Remember no big names coming in it'll bargains from abroad and talent from lower leagues

Agree9 Disagree1

Don't think we will get douglas but I would like us to sign Callum Mcmanaman

Agree8 Disagree3

Would absolutely love douglas! Absolute unit, him and vlaar would have a great understanding too!

Agree4 Disagree2

Fonz will not go out on loan again, he will be kept as part of the first team under Lambert who is keen to work with him.

Agree4 Disagree3

McGeady's disciplinary record would make him a huge gamble plus he's been linked with Villa every year for about a decade now and it's never come off. Can't see it.

McGeady not young enough? He's only 25, right? Perfect age I'd have thought.
Read McGeady is on a £100k a week hence why he went to Russia, so a massive pay cut he'd have to take.

Ed for rumours page, see tv for first paragraph

Villa confirm that no major signings are planned this summer - see quotes from club in the press. Understand there is no intention to spend heavily and that the club will continue to develop young players, as well as speculate with prospects from the lower leagues.

Benteke is judged to be almost certain to, albeit his new deal WILL have release clauses involved.

Villa had hoped to secure Will Hughes from Derby but have been priced out of the market. Callum McNanaman is another target but the club unwilling to pay more then £3 million for the Wigan star

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Hope lambert brings in seighurst grealish caruthers drenan burke in to the squad with a experinced defendef and leftback. And bring in more youngsters with quality in to the youth set up whilst geting rid of the high earners given, ireland, makoun, hutton, dunne,
and also get rid of holman, bannan, delfonso, dawkins!

Whatever he does it is a big ask but in lambert I trust?

Agree3 Disagree6

Lambert means no more Darren Bent's of the world - £24m & 60-70k p/w.
Benteke will NOT have a release clause in his contract - his agent has clarified that is the case of a new contract for Benteke.

Agree8 Disagree1

Benteke won't have a release clause the club and Lambert have stated that if Benteke insisted on it they would keep his current deal.

And Keep Holman he gives 110% every time he's on the pitch

Agree2 Disagree5

Benteke will have a release clause. His agent is already agitating for significant changes to his contract. With threats that his player will leave this summer.

See media reporting today

Agree3 Disagree4

I'd like to see Luke Murphy, Arron Cresswell, Laboysie and Vydria come in from lower leagues and Martins indi or Dragovic from abroad

If these came in I'd consider it a successful transfer window although as yet the mahority of Lambert's sigings have been good

Agree4 Disagree2

If he's under contract Villa can force him to honour it.
Villa are in the driving seat here as Benteke has 3 yrs left on his contract. All Benteke could do is go on strike get fined and then return to the team.
Lambert has stated on several occassions there'll be no ba like clauses and if it is inserted I'd expect it to be around 25m

Agree2 Disagree5

Realistically, this never happens.

Players and agents hold all the aces and decide transfers.

If Benteke wants out, he will be gone by Aug

Agree6 Disagree3

Can people just remember it's Benteke's agent saying these things not the man himself.

Agree5 Disagree3

Benteke has said himself as has his agent, its 99. 8% sure that he'll be a Villa player next season!

Agree5 Disagree4

Very True just look at his twitter page
As he keeps saying how happy he is at Villa and loving his football.

Agree2 Disagree2

I we get just will Hughes I would be chuffed. Anyone else would be a bonus. If we sell bent maybe we should get that deal done before big clubs do

Agree2 Disagree0

All players say that. whilst their agent engineers a move. let's not be naive here

Agree3 Disagree0

Of course benteke is going to say that, what else would he say?
He's not gunna come out on twitter an say he wants more money or to play for a bigger club.
An if benteke doesn't agree with what his agent is saying then maybe he needs to man up an sack him or at least tell him to shut up about more money, transfers an clauses.

Agree4 Disagree0

Not many players say they wanna stay then leave, if they wanna go they just keep their mouth shut! Nobody would turn round and say yeah i'm happy I want to stay bye then i'm off. Saying they wanna stay will put teams off buying them and they might not end up going anywhere anyway! {Ed001's Note - Torres did at Liverpool, I am sure I could find lots more examples of the same too.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Ed I didn't say none, because the players that are known for being persons will do it. But i'm fairly certain if benteke came out in public and said he's happy to stay, there'd be less teams trying to persuade him to leave. If he wanted an escape route he'd make one not do the opposite. If you go to a resturant wanting steak you don't say you don't want it? Lol {Ed001's Note - what has that got to do with anything? We are not talking about a restaurant, we are talking about an employee making public statements. Ludicrous and nonsensical comparison, it makes absolutely no sense at all. If a player comes out and says 'I want a move', they immediately lose their 'loyalty bonus' that they are entitled to when they move clubs, if the club chooses to sell them. That can be a huge amount, after all Joe Cole, for instance, with just one season left on his contract, was arguing over the pay off from Liverpool, which was worth about £4m to him! That is why players will make public statement they want to stay, rather than being honest and admitting they would actually like the move. Having said that, I really don't expect Benteke to move this summer, unless someone offers Villa ridiculous amounts of money.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Metorphorically speaking, my apologies for going off topic. I agree that no player should try and force a move or say they want out, but i'd like to think that most players have to generosity not to say they wanna stay and leave a week later. Its been said that benteke is a nice lad off the pitch, and i'm sure he's humble enough to honour his word. He's getting regular prem footie, no doubt he can see where we're heading and he's a hero here, so I doubt he'd risk a move this season anyway. I'm not arguing with you ed, just wish some people on this page will be a bit more positive and not pressume he's going to jump ship. {Ed001's Note - I get what you are signing, I hope you are right, I actually, as I said, don't think he will leave this summer. I just don't think people should take anything a player says as truth, sometimes they don't even know they are being sold themselves, until told to go and sign papers. A friend of mine was playing for Liverpool and I can remember him telling me I was on something when I said he was being sold and asking why he hadn't told me. He got home that day to a message (this was in the days before everyone had mobiles) telling him to drive down to London to sign his contract! He was gutted as he never wanted to leave, but he was told in no uncertain terms that his time at Liverpool was over.}

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2013 22:13:26
Benteke will almost stay but there are some nonsense sums being mentioned on here. If he was sold, it would be for about £15-20 million and no more. And you can guarantee that figure would be broken down into installments - which is how most transfers are conducted.

Again - Darren Bent is worth no more than £5 million. Everyone knows Villa don't want him and that Villa need him off the wage bill. He might even go for half of that figure

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Wake up and look around you, we sold downing, milner, young and barry atleast 20 mil each, and benteke is better than all of them, he has scored just 4 less goals than ale in the league and is a year younger and apparently they will get 40-50 mil for him, not benteke will demand 30 mil

Agree9 Disagree1

Wake up and smell the coffee. No one will pay more than £20 million.

Realistically, paid over 12 months

Agree2 Disagree9

No one will pay over 20m for a 23yr old not at his peak yet who is a 20 goal a season striker.

Hmm ok

Remember this is the premier league with inflated transfer fees if Carroll is/was worth 35m for scoring 10 goals at that point and Bent 24m for scoring 11 goals at that point then what's a striker worth when including cups and his 5 goals for Genk before moving to us on deadline day who's scored 28 goals worth?

I think more than 20-25m more like 30m and that team could easily sell on for 40-50m if his form continues

Agree7 Disagree2

Liverpool paid way over the odds for Carroll - everyone knows that.
We paid way over the odds for Bent.

Watford star Matej Vydra is ready to leave the Hornets if they club fail to win promotion.

The 21-year-old is currently one of the many players who is on loan at Vicarage Road from Udinese, whose owners, the Pozzo family, run both clubs and his total of 22 goals in the Championship have brought him to the attention of watching Premier League clubs and the Championship Player of the Year is now understood to be wanted by Aston Villa, for a fee believed to be 5m.

Borussia Dortmond set to offer 32m for Benteke and if they manage to win the champions league this may be the bid which takes him as I could see Lambert signing it off providing he gets to spend the majority on incoming transfers with the 30m he's rumored to be getting in summer

Believable4 Unbelievable15

If I had to see him go it would be the perfect club for it, but let's be honest the chances of Dortmund, who are like us in developing young players, bid so much for one player because of his maiden season is just stupid!

Hope the big man stays.

Agree11 Disagree4

I know he's had a good season but 32m? Doubt that would be the offer, but if it was, we'd have to accept it, imagine having 62m to spend, we'd probably be the highest spenders in the league!

Agree9 Disagree8

If Dortmund offer 30m and we accept it. which we may very well. He would jump at the chance to play for the CL finalists in front of 80,000 fans every week. In that case expect Villa to spend 40m in the summer, not 60m that is crazy. I hope he stays though, replacing him is near impossible, the best striker I have seen play for Villa in my 20 odd years supporting.

Agree9 Disagree3

Its been all over the german papers for over a week now that an offer in the region is expected after the final game of the season, can we replace benteke who knows there might be a gem out there again is it a risk we can take considering this seasons fight?

Agree2 Disagree3

I am undoubtedly appreciative of what Benteke has done this season but would be happy to sell him for more 23m+ to enable us to reinvest and continue the growth of the team.

Anything less should be flatly refused but with that sort of money we could improve a few areas of the team. I trust PL to unearth some more talent ala Westwood, Lowton, Bowery and big Christian himself. You could even chuck Guzan into that bracket. Yes MoN signed him but he was released end of last season and was resigned by PL

Agree2 Disagree5

Benteke is SO young & his price will just continue to soar! Lerner seems to want to invest decently again now we're doing better - so we'll be able to build stronger foundations. Once we have a few more really good players then we can consider selling Bentekkers next summer.

Agree4 Disagree1

So just keep selling then? Take it you don't want to see us lift another cup then! How crazy are you to think it's ok to sell as soon aswe get a good player. Your everything I can't stand about football supporters!

Agree8 Disagree1

And your comment is everything that frustrates me about Villa fans!

Yes Benteke has been immense this season and his goals have proved invaluable. However, we are still nowhere near a finished article. There are rumours that Lerner will inject some cash into the team but if this doesn't happen as we hope (18/20m +) then you have to look at what is best for the team and I for one consider the growth of the entire squad more important then keeping one player and not improving other areas if the finances are not going to be there to do so.

Selling Benteke for a large profit does not mean we are a selling club, that can only be labelled at us if we sell him for 10m.

Agree0 Disagree4

Keeping Benteke & building something special around him till he no longer is fighting for our cause with all his Beast heart is what will happen!

Agree1 Disagree0

Building a team around one player can be a dangerous game, a dip in form of long term injury and all the planning is undone.

Agree4 Disagree0

10mil? It don't matter what the price is its still selling! Anyway why would you want him sold?, we can create cash from bent, given, Ireland, dunne, makoun etc.

Agree2 Disagree1

I don't recall saying I wanted him sold, maybe we should read comments properly to better understand someones opinion.

Yes it is still selling, but there is selling to make a quick buck or selling to make a large profit which can be used to strengthen a team that battled relegation for the last three seasons. As I stated earlier if we sold him for the latter then I would understand as the needs of the team is greater then that of one man or a bunch of one eyed fans who don't appreciate the wider picture!

Spurs have reportedly made Villa striker Christian Benteke their number one transfer target, with north London rivals Arsenal also targeting the Belgian international. Benteke has score more than 20 goals in all competitions this season since joining Villa in a £7m deal from Genk. Villa have no intention of selling Benteke, but if he wants out if Villa were to be relegated they will sell for no less than £25m.

Villa, along with Stoke City, are among a number of side linked with France Under-21 international forward Thievy Bifouma, who Espanyol may be prepared to let leave this summer due to their financial concerns. Thievy has spent this season on loan at Spanish Segunda Division side Las Palmas, scoring 13 times to help his side into the final play-off place.

Bent has done nothing for a few years unfortunately he is worth about 5-6 m tops. If he is sold I bet it's an undisclosed fee

Agree5 Disagree12

Well, he'll play against wigan because we won't have benteke.

Agree11 Disagree2

If survival is secured I would rather see Bowry and a few of the u19s being played

Agree5 Disagree3

Well back to the original rumor which someone hijacked talking about Bent.

I hope Villa are scouting Bolaysie very talented young player and plays with flare on the ball

Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll will join Aston Villa on a season long loan next season. Carroll has impressed under Andre Villas-Boas but feels he needs more first team football.
Villa boss Lambert feels Carroll adds youth but European experience after he featured in the Europa League with Spurs.

Believable3 Unbelievable14

Don't be daft, we have players who are better than him. Lambert won't want to improve another teams player only to send him back.

Agree12 Disagree2

Why would we bring on a youth player from another club when we have ones we need to bring on ourselves!

Agree11 Disagree0

Ed, heard villa have bid £4m for Dwight Gayle of Peterborough, you know anythin on this?

>Scg87

Agree17 Disagree3

Would like to see Diame, Danny Rose, and Dries Mertens

Agree8 Disagree11

Gayle is no batter than Bowery!
Burke & Drennan are waiting in the wings too - we don't need Gayle.

Here's all the players villa have been linked with so far

Aleksandar Dragovic

Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason

Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray

Gary Hooper from Celtic

Man City defender Joleon Lescott

Crewe midfielder Luke Murphy

QPR striker Loic Remy

Mathieu Flamini

Soon to be free agent Phil Neville

Richard Dunne to be kept? See: Not Dunne And Dusted?

Russell Martin from Norwich

Scott Sinclair from Man city

Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone:

Walsall striker Will Grigg

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Gary hooper has said that he wants CL football and if he don't get it with spurs or arsenal he will stay at Celtic if they offer 30k a week which looks likely.

Agree3 Disagree4

Hooper isn't prem quality and R Martin won't move to us as we sent big enough

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Its Deeney

Deeney didn't play against leicster- he was suspended and was part of Sky

villa are going to offer wigan 5million for mcmanaman who lambert sees as a perfect replacement for the zog who will be allowed to leave if the right offer come along

Believable17 Unbelievable7

McManaman looks dynamite at times, really unpredictable, an has substance.
I was surprised to hear he suffers from anxiety, i'd like to see him when he loses that fear lol

Agree17 Disagree0

I think he's quality.

>Scg87

Agree15 Disagree0

Why buy another right back when we have Lowton but more significantly, we don't have a left back or a centre half with a touch of pace? Crazy signing if you ask me. Also see a bit of a thug in him.

Agree0 Disagree15

Would love McManaman but not to replace N'Zog who I feel still has more to offer the Villa!
McMana would be a good addition to had an extra link in, ship Ireland out & bring in McMana!

Agree14 Disagree1

Hmmm suffers anxiety?

Anyone think we should go for Mccarthy or Malony instead

Agree4 Disagree10

FYI McManaman is not a RB

Agree16 Disagree2

The Mcmanaman link is to replace Ireland

Agree11 Disagree0

How can someone disagree with the guy saying McManaman is not a RB? Lol. He's not a RB, it's a fact

Agree14 Disagree2

After McManaman's performance in the FA cup final, do you still think he's a RB? Lmfao

Dont worry mate, a lot of people disagree with facts on this page, its probably norwich fans coming on and disagreeing with everything to wind us up, well its either that or people have fat fingers and press disagree when they wanted to press agree! Lerner will Fly into Brum next week and hand Lambert a significant transfer budget according to reports as reward for maintaining premiership status on a shoe string budget

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Lerner has arrived in Brum today

Agree7 Disagree2

I think we can all agree, we need 4 players atleast to be signed in the summer, so what 4 players would you like us to sign?
Realistic targets of course

Agree6 Disagree2

Think anya from watford good shout

Agree3 Disagree10

Bony, McManaman, Dragovic, figueroa

Agree9 Disagree5

Dries mertens would because about 10 mil but defiantly wort it

Agree10 Disagree1

Danny Rose, Dragovic, Malony, Aubermberg/Bony

Agree1 Disagree8

Cresswell (from ipswich), Dragovic, Finnobiggson, Murphy (from crewe)

Agree2 Disagree11

Lescott, McCarthy, Maloney, a solid lb picked from one of the european leagues.

Agree8 Disagree9

Lescott. Olsson. Loe. Mertens.

>Scg87

Agree12 Disagree0

Lescott, olsson, cresswell and deeney

Agree0 Disagree10

Olsson wilson guidetti wijnaldum/mertens

Agree1 Disagree10

I heard we were intereste in Jetro Willems who looks to be a very good young LB, Loe, Mcmanaman, and Mertens and possibly a CB with a bit of experiance like Lescott although Loe can play there as well

Agree1 Disagree0

Survival on a shoe string budget, what about that 20mil we spent last summer. Most managers spent half of that.

Agree2 Disagree1

Mcmannaman, metens, dede, taraabt, and a st to replace bent, this means shipping out : given, dunne, bent, Ireland, nzogbia, bannan with delfiuneso, albrighton, and Bowery to go on a 3 month loan deals, to gain fitness and experience?

Lambert is apparently preparing a bid for Celtic's Emilio Izaguirre, the move may be rushed as fear that other established PL teams are set to pounce. West Ham, Everton (Baines replacement?)

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Can definately see Baines going to Man U if Moyes is appointed manager so Everton will be in the market with money to spend.

If this rumour is true we need to act now

Agree3 Disagree3

Everton have announced Baines isn't going anywhere but they can't stop Fellaini as he has a buyout clause

Agree4 Disagree1

08 May 2013 12:18:06
Everton are after Lambert to replace Moyes who is going to Man u next season, Will Lambert be tempted away to a bigger club that is capable of European football, We will see what happens

Believable3 Unbelievable25

Everton are monitoring vitor pereira as he has stated he wants a move to the premier league. Even if they approach lambert, I doubt he'd leave, it would be pointless building something great for the future then jumping ship after a season, he could live to regret it! He has more sense than that.

Agree10 Disagree3

No chance, must be a blue nose. Bigger club don't make me laugh

Agree11 Disagree2

Villa are in a better position than Everton in all honesty!
He has HIS squad at Villa now & a club with a bigger base & good facilities for training & a great stadium!

Agree15 Disagree3

They'll get Martinez!

Agree18 Disagree2

Will he be able to leave the set up he has allready established at villa, think not aslong as lerner backs him all the way and I can't see him not backing him as he has proved he is the man for the job!

Agree13 Disagree2

Everton a bigger club! Lmfao. These fools are always looking to get a reaction with their moronic comments.

Villa's potential is limitless, great stadium, great facilities, great youth system an great fans as proven this season. Everton have probably gone as far as they will ever go. Lambert would need his head examined if he sees everton as a step up.

>Scg87

Agree20 Disagree2

I'm a Villa fan through and through Lambert won't leave just yet!!

But I have to say currently Everton are a bigger club than Villa they've won 9 titles compared to our 7 and if you look at the last 8 years have been more consistant than us at finishing in european spots

Agree7 Disagree13

Everton have never won the European cup, so I could easilly say until they win one of them they'll never come close to us. Besides being a big club isn't just about how many tropheys a club has, it's everythin about the history of the clubs an fan base of a club.

All they have on us is their position in the table, can't take that a way from them but that don't make them a bigger club. Villa have a world wide reputation, everton are barely known in Europe

Agree16 Disagree3

Can't see either Lambert or Martinez going to Everton, as they want a manager with loads of experiance in both Prem and Euro leagues.

Agree1 Disagree6

By saying the euopean cup card does that make Notts forrest a bigger club than us having won it twice.

And there was a massive blog debate on this last season it was agreed that seen as Everton dave enjoyed success more recent to us and are in europe more regularlythat they are a bigger club bt not long ago we were on par and can be again

Agree3 Disagree11

If it goes on fan base then why is it everton always take their full allocation away from home and villa don't goodison is always a sell out with no empty seats where as villa have loads on matchday. think that has something to do with where villa are in the league every season and where everton are although a fan of neither at the moment everton are a bigger club, but see how I said moment

Agree0 Disagree12

Saying we've won a EC isn't a "card" it's a fact, just like you saying everton have won more titles than us. But then I can ballance it out by saying we've won more FA cups an more League cups and won more trophey's in general.

Villa have a better stadium, better fan base, better training facilities, better youth system an we have a historic link to the beginning of football in this country, we are one of the founders, there just the facts.

If being a bigger club was all about which club finishes higher in the league, then Stoke would be a bigger club than Newcastle, but there not, an never will be.

Stan Petrov is to be offered a Coaching role at the club next season with Lambert looking him to stay about with the first team as he has been doing in recent weeks. If recent results are anything to go by then I'd have him there all day long.

weiman key for a move for aleksander dragovic, would be a class signing along side your cd vlaar clarke baker?

Believable13 Unbelievable5

Think Clark needs to play in midfield for me but wound be a great signing

Agree8 Disagree6

Yes, I agree Clark in midfield & Dragovic with Vlaar at the back with Lowton & hopefully a new LB *fingers crossed*

Agree7 Disagree5

Clark showed real promise in midfield under Mcleish

Agree3 Disagree0

Clark is not a good enough distributor of the ball to play CM/DM, we are finally playing a very good style football, with patient, concise an sharp passing when needed, an now I'm hearing we should play Clark in midfield? That would be going backwards IMO.

Chairman Randy Lerner set to give manager Paul Lambert a staggering £30million in the summer, in order to help boost the team back into a top ten club once more.

Also Stephen Ireland is set to leave the premier league, to go and play in Thailand.

Believable7 Unbelievable17

Ireland playing in Thailand don't think so more like america beens as he's been linked with the red bulls and chicago fire in the past and I reckon Villa will probably get 15-20m with a few players being shown the door such as Bent, Given and maybe Ireland and Nzogbia I'd also get rid of Bannan and Bennett

Agree13 Disagree12

Don't need much but if we sign Lescott on the cheap that will be an absolute steal! Chuck in Sinclair and hold on to our young ones showing promise if we can and next season should be a good one!

Agree10 Disagree3

Personally i'd like to see the following signings

Douglas or Lescott for cb.

Wanyama or Diame for cm

Deeney or lukaku for st

We also need a left back as bennett looks decent going forward but awful at defending

as for the outs:
Ireland
Bent
Bannan
bowery (loan)
carruthers (loan)
Dunne

Agree7 Disagree15

We've had scouts watching PSV games possibly looking at left backs, but still not clear if its jetro willems or erik pieters, could also be taking a few notes on dries mertens which would be a cracking signing. Danny rose looks a good option at left back for me, a little bit shaky at times but nothing experience and age won't sort out, bennett doesn't seem to be improving defensively but can honestly see him doing a gareth bale just maybe not as world class, he has all the traits of a good winger and none of a defender, he has a trick, bit of pace and his ball into the box is unreal, but he can't tackle, can't head, can't mark and can't through!

Agree12 Disagree2

I do think we are safe as we have on average since the new year collected 1. 37 pts but I will be more comfortable with a wigan loss tonight and then I could look foward to next season to see if lambert has it to get 2pts on average per game?

Agree3 Disagree6

2pts average for the season would put us second in the table this season, got to love a dreamy villa fan lol

Agree3 Disagree2

Who would of thought we would win 5 of our last eight, anyway thanks for loving me lol

Agree4 Disagree1

Averaging two points is 76 points in a season? And a win percentage of 66. 6% with no draws? Even if we won just over half (still unlikely) we'd need 15/16 draws and only 2 losses? If it was that easy we'd be laughing. Champions league here we come!

Agree6 Disagree2

If PL can get rid of given & Ireland and bring in some more gem's & bargains - next season should be an utter cracker!

Agree6 Disagree0

Here we come champions league!

Agree1 Disagree2

I think we will look like a better team next season, but could all Villa fans expecting European football please put down their crack pipes and show some patience.

Lambert surely won't go to Everton but the rumour could be enough to ensure Lerner backs him in the transfer market, fingers are crossed optimistic floral hat is donned and i'm looking forward to an interesting summer. UTV

Luke Murphy and Sofiane Feghouli are believed to be Lambert's main targets with Feghouli being a replacement for Nzogbia who's Monaco bound apparently.

Believable4 Unbelievable12

Feghouli is not young enough for villa when we have enough options there but I can see us going for Luke Murphy two crewe captains in two years

Agree5 Disagree14

Would like to see us sign Chicksen from MK Dons he is out of contract and apparently pretty good he could replace Bennett

Agree1 Disagree16

Feghouli is only 23 and your saying he;s to old please remember Lambert signed KEA age 27 now 28 and Vlaar the same so I don't think he only buys young but under 30 at a maximum

Agree20 Disagree1

Feghouli is a talented player an would give us an real creativity but when I've seen him play he doesn't look like a hard working player, I'd be surprised if PL signed him.

>Scg87

Agree19 Disagree1

Sounds like another Ireland

Agree12 Disagree11

Rather go for dries mertens 26 but has got 17 goals and 15 assists in 28 games in the dutch league would add a lot of creativity

Agree16 Disagree0

Mertens is a cracking player! And would probably mean benteke stays! If we can afford to shell out £9/10m for him i'd be more than happy!

Villa interested in Andros Townsend

Believable24 Unbelievable7

He's already a good player an he's gunna get better, so I can't see spurs selling him, they'll look to develop him further an hope he turns in to a future star for them

>scg87

Agree24 Disagree1

Would be a really good coup if we could pull it off or Danny Rose

Agree6 Disagree8

Danny Rose isn't any good, better off sticking with Clark, Baker or Bennett at Left Back

Agree5 Disagree13

Joe Bennett is the single most useless player I have had the experience of watching, I would rather start every game with 10 than keep him, he actually makes me miss Stephen Warnock.

Agree18 Disagree7

Bennett is good going forward & was sounded defensively against Blunderland. But after Norwich - TERRIBLE!
A step forward & 2 steps back!

Agree16 Disagree0

Danny Rose is a england U21 international and for me a great prospect

Agree16 Disagree6

Danny rose isn't great but bennett is TERRIBLE. i'm hoping its just his age and he improves dramatically next season. he makes the wrong decision defensively every time! andros townsend has been extremely impressive this season

Agree14 Disagree1

Don't forget how bad a player Gareth Bale used to be when he first joined Spuds! great going forward & poor defender as a left back!

Agree7 Disagree3

Ppl at spurs use to slate bale when he first went there and was left back, took him 3 yers to find his feet maybe you never know but we do need a experinced left back that's for sure!

Agree5 Disagree1

Difference with bale is even when playing bad you could see the potential. bennet on other hand can't see getting any better

He played well against blunderland

Blackpool's Tom Ince will join Aston Villa this summer for 2 million and Marc albrighton going the other way

Believable10 Unbelievable20

Would love this but he would have his sights set higher, also would they not take the fonz as they have him on loan.

Agree19 Disagree2

Albrighton still has so much to offer! Would rather give them £5m + Fonz

Agree16 Disagree12

Albrighton needs to go. So injury prone. Fonz still has a future imo

Agree7 Disagree12

Isn't Ince rumoured to be joining Spurs for 6m but would love to see him at Villa

Agree5 Disagree9

Thee Fonz has been on form this season and has scored 14 goals similar form to weimann and gabby where as Albrighton is predictable in the way he plays

Agree10 Disagree5

Blackpool will not be happy with just £2m an albrighton, I rate T Ince at £8m, so are you saying albrighton is a £6m player? He's barely worth half that

Agree14 Disagree2

I believe we should get victor wanyama or if we have the budget aiden mcgeady or gary hooper

Agree15 Disagree5

Ince will go to Liverpool, no doubt about that. An another thing, why is Zaha worth £15m an Ince is only rated between £4m-£8m by some of you? Ince has 20 odd goals an 15 odd assists, zaha doesn't come close to ince as in terms of how effective he is, or isn't.
Ince will be in the England squad within a couple months of playing in the prem, he's gunna be a star

Agree15 Disagree1

Ince dad say if zaha worth that much tom is worth 20 already turned down 6 from liverpool

Agree9 Disagree1

14 goals in the Championship is hardly comparable to the same in the Premier League lol

Agree4 Disagree2

Tom ince has scored 19 goals this season and the fonz has scored 7 why would blackpool accept this and albrighton is rubbish

Agree9 Disagree3

What are you talking about?
Who is comparing ince's goals in the championship to goals in the prem?Lol
If zaha struggles to score 5 goals in the championship then how is he worth 15million, while ince is apparently only worth 6million ish, that's laughable!
Albrighton can't even score one goal in the prem, he's gone backwards an I don't think he'll ever be anythin more than a squad player for us

Agree15 Disagree2

Maybe because Albrighton has been injured the whole season!
In Pre-season, he looked fantastic! I went to America to watch pre-season. So - you have no clue either seemingly!

Agree2 Disagree10

I was referring to the lerson who mentioned that the Fonz had scored 14 in the Championship. He's garbage and should be sold.

Agree9 Disagree0

Would rather swap him for Nathan Redmond

Agree8 Disagree2

Ince's daddy is of course going to say how amazing his son is! duh!

Paul lambert to be given a 50 mil war chest this summer to add to the great young lads we have already. 4 players being targeted are j lescot 6mil remy from qpr 8 mil sinclair 7 mil and a shock 18 mil bid for lukaku off chelsea with bent being sold and gabby being used in a wide roll. Lambert sees lukaku benteke remy and wieman shooting us up the league with gabby and sinclair giving pace down the flancks and lescot in there with vlarr. An unnamed dutch u21 left back being looked at as well for compitition for bennet.

Believable9 Unbelievable28

Benteke. Lukaku Weimann. Remy. Gabby and Sinclair?? Are you deluded? Or just crazy! Even if we did had the money to buy lukaku remy an Sinclair, Where on the pitch would we play all of them? LMFAO!

Agree37 Disagree4

Cant see Villa buying 2 strikers to replace 1 outgoing striker and the whole post seems to go against everything Lambert and Lerner are trying to do to be honest I'd Like Lescot Sinclair and a few more lower league or foreign gems like Cresswell and Finnobiggson

Agree14 Disagree9

The post is accurate in 1 respect Lambert has stated the squad needs to get bigger and is apparently going to get the funds to this whether we spend big I can't see happening as Villa still have the highest wage bill in the league after the likes of Man city, Man u, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Totenham

Agree5 Disagree18

Villa will probably sell : Dunne (free agent), Given, Bent, Ireland etc. in the summer if possible.
Then probably some more European gems which will be bargains as Villa continue to cut the wage bill.

Agree23 Disagree2

You don't need more players, it's time you have needed.

Agree6 Disagree5

Need creative players also apparently man city are having a clear out and are looking to sell Milner who could add a bit more experiance and quality

Agree5 Disagree9

Anyone forgot about our rubbish defence?

Agree13 Disagree1

Why do we need more creativity? Havnt we been one of the most creative sides in the prem over the last 2-3 months? I think we have, we've missed loads of great chances, so I reckon that side of things is ok.

First priority over the summer should be signing players with defensive capabilities.
We need a good DM who can impose himself on games an atleast 2 defenders. Then we can look to sign creative players.

>Scg87

Agree16 Disagree0

Milner has probably been Man City's best player this season, he offers undoubted quality, consistency and is one of the few players they have who isn't an ego maniac who in it for himself (Team Player)

Why would they sell him?

>Scg87

Agree14 Disagree1

Why do people always bring up Milner? He will never play for us again he's top 4 material

Agree16 Disagree0

Why do we always hear rumours of prem players coming to villa? PL will look abroad or to the lower leagues again this summer. Westwood, lowton and obviously the beast benteke have become assets. Our transfer policy is better like this as apposed to MONs crazy spending sprees

Agree0 Disagree8
