Big Big disappointment today, can't understand why we weren't up for it . Perhaps could have been a different game if one of our early, chances had gone in . Hull gained more and more confidence, we just melted . Brucie has to get some fight back into them and ask them if they really want it . Some players just disappeared today, not in it at all .

We lost midfield compleatly, Jack has been brilliant over the last few weeks, but he needed to be stronger today . Hull made it a battle and we where found wanting . We need to up our game quickly, others are closing in . Come on you Villa, show us you want it as much as we do . Tuesday we will be there doing our part, so roll your sleeve up and do yours . Onwards & Upwards Villaforever.

Kodjia to be involved tomorrow then, very very good news.

30 Mar 2018 11:39:55
That's great news about kodjia,
Think top 2 is out of reach if I'm honest
So having him back for play offs is a big boost,

Now with the big man back shame we are not 3 points or so behind Cardiff,
Them last 2 games for us have really hit us very hard,

Hate to state the obvious, but were going to need to beat Hull by 4 clear goals to go back third. Not beyond the realms of possibility, but a bit of a stretch methinks.

What ever league we are in next season it looks like there's going to be a clear out with Gabby Hutton Terry Bunn Micah Richards Tishbola grabban Onomah Johnstone tuanzebe Lansbury Ross McCormick bree gill gollini that's 15 players all leaving that will free up some wage and give us licence to spend big again if we are in the championship in the premier league FFP doesn't matter but with all these players leaving its going to be a huge summer for the club no matter what if Bruce doesn't get us up do you give him another go or freshen it up with a new manager in the summer there will be a few available.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

24 Mar 2018 18:33:41
Richards still has a year left on his contract, Lansbury I can see where your coming from but he will probably stay, Bree isn’t going anywhere, if we go up Terry will stay on and i'd put money on Johnstone coming back, Hutton isn’t a foregone conclusion yet either. The rest I can see what your saying but don’t think all of the 15 you’ve mentioned will be going, probably more like 7/ 8 of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Mar 2018 19:12:42
Only time wil tell chris but come on Terry at his age in the premier League have you seen how fast it is now days. Terry should retire at the end of the season his been great but age is against him now in the premier League he would get destroyed by pace but his been a incredible Defender over the years. Bruce said his looking to sort the Richards situation out. Either way next season will be a lot of in an outs and if Bruce doesn't go up people will be asking questions. Abel Hernandez is on a free next season we nearly paid 20 million for him last season there's a lot of good players out there its just getting rid of the dead would we need a young attacking team not a old team.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Mar 2018 20:14:30
I don’t disagree with you mate about Terry, but reports last week is he’s staying, you even said after the fan meeting “Terry will definitely be a villa player” if we go up, did you forget that? 😂 overall we need to learn from past mistakes, Bruce has done that so far in his transfer windows, personally I’d say all his signings have been minimum a 6/ 10 so far, and even better when you look at the prices we paid (hogan excluded) . Main thing we need to take forward is the contracts we hand out, look at Richards for example, you don’t give a player with that injury recorded a huge pay slip for 3+ years. I trust the board if we go up or if we don’t, they seem to be astute in the market and I think if we go up there will be some very exciting signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2018 00:16:25
Yes Chris I did say he was staying but doesn't mean I like the idea of having a 38 year old at cbk in the prem and if he stayed in the championship it hurts us financial so at the end of the season I would thank him for a great season the get rid for a younger player whos not on as much wages. 1 great point you did Make was we have a great owner now who wouldn't make the same mistakes a lerner Micah Richards has stole a living off us not just for injurys but when he does play he plays so bad we don't pick him again. 1 Thing i want to touch on is how we are playing 3 games in a week down to sky tv really unfair and hand our rivals a advantage. Sky have ruined football. Keep the faith tho Chris hopefully we share a pint at wembley UTV.

25 Mar 2018 11:06:17
Sod Wembley mate Cardiff are going to wobble watch, 4 straight defeats coming up for them and we are going to win our last 8😂 we can dream. But yea Tony, Wyness and around seem to have a clue what their doing, if we go up it would be really exciting times, and we can have some good threads on here over the summer about transfers and such.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Mar 2018 12:51:51
Interesting posts walkies, chris. For sure the richards debarkle should get sorted out. He has had enough of the clubs cash and just takes the piss. As you say chris can see six or seven that will be gone. as for bruce, think he has been great for the club and should keep his job either way.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2018 04:35:12
My sources are already getting ready for the summer Chris lol. I'm going to say something that will prove unpopular now but I'd keep Bruce and give him another season if we don't go up but I'd replace him if we do. I don't think he will do any good in the prem and his record backs that up. Same as Warnock at Cardiff. Great at this level not so great in prem. I think we should go for a Sean dyche or Eddie howe if we go up. Our club are bigger than either of there current clubs and I'm sure Tony and Keith could sell the dream and vision to them.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2018 14:38:57
I think if all them players leave next season and we are still in championship we will not be spending big as some think,
We have to get up this season that's a fact,
It will be even harder next season,
Ftp will not harm us in premiership but it will cripple us in the champs league,

27 Mar 2018 16:35:38
Got to ask king80, Said all of what you have said a few days ago without a peep from you or anyone else for that matter.
I am wondering why you think its you and your sources that have generated this thinking.
I think most would go along those lines anyway if the truth be known.

Right everybody the meeting that was at the holte suite today few things to let you know about. 1st get your season tickets before the early bird finishes otherwise season ticket prices are going to go up even if we're still in the championship due to FFP its a way of generating money. If we get promoted John Terry will definitely be a villa player but if we stay in the championship FFP could mean we could part company. Also I was asked to ask about flags and other things during the playoffs and Wembley if we get there and I was told with in reason the club will help as best at it can but there will be no clappers as joked about. Also Kodjia played 45 min behind closed door game tonight he won't be rushed back but could play some part towards the end of the season. Also EFL have come out with a rule that teams have to play a strong team so if we do make the playoffs there's no more playing the kids.

This bad run of form has come out of no where i can't quite believe the crap we are losing to. Steve Bruce should stop playing long ball that doesn't work and is awful to watch last 2 games there cbks have been 6.4 and we have a striker 6 foot so who do they thinks going to win the headers or flicks? We need to work hard and stick together Bruce and the squad have been on good form before it can happen again. UTV.

18 Mar 2018 16:35:50
As usual I was at the game yesterday and I can't figure out why we was so poor does anybody have any idea why we are playing so poor? Last week we was amazing so it can't be Bruce because he wouldn't of changed things in a week so is it the players bottling it?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Mar 2018 22:14:01
Its really very simple, we are not as good as we think we are.
Yes we play well at times but If we can`t win playing a certain way, we often lose.
We rarely see the team play with any variation.

Agree2 Disagree1

19 Mar 2018 11:47:14
So Villa Dave would you say Bruce is at fault for lack of tactical variation?

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Mar 2018 16:55:45
WTW.
Yes it has to be Bruce, and the coaching staff as well for any plans and systems, the players are also guilty of not being able to execute the managers ideas.
We are ok and still in a very good position, but don`t let us be fooled, we are way off the best side.
Man for man we have a varied and experienced side that can perform very well on occasions, unfortunately we lack consistency, it proved against QPR and Bolton that we are also very short on creativity.

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Mar 2018 17:47:16
So if we don't go up would keep Steve Bruce?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Mar 2018 18:36:09
If we go up, I personally would have to give him a chance, after all he would be deserving of his chance, but I would seriously fear for our chances with what we have.
But if we are struggling in the bottom six-seven come January I would seriously think about moving him on.
I personally don’t think he is savvy enough to be honest, he must have a plan B, and at the moment he does not have one, that’s why I think in the championship he has found his level.

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Mar 2018 19:00:57
Sorry WTW, I misread your post.
If we fail to get promotion, I would be looking for another manager yes.
This time my choice would not be on a whim, it would be thought about with a 5 year plan put in place.

14 Mar 2018 11:19:39
Still 27 points to play for am I disappointed yes can Cardiff be caught yes is it all over NO was it a pointless win on Saturday, NO dust ourselves down and go again. in the Immortal words of Ron Saunders, "You wanna bet against us"?

Gutted really gutted hope them players are gutted as well because that was unacceptable. kiss good bye to 2nd now well done warnock, manager of the season hasn't got our squad or money but his done it again on a shoe string. let's get ready for the playoffs now rest of the season we just need to make sure we are injury free hopfully kodjia is back for the playoffs. his different class and need him bad. UTV GUTTED.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Mar 2018 10:34:56
I still believe 2nd is achievable. Many things can still happen. Football is a very strange game we were unplayable Saturday. And I agree I think a few players last night believed we would walk it. Hope Bruce gives them hell today. Roll in Saturday tough game but very winnable

I think Steve Bruce should be knighted the way he has transformed us the way this club was run to now is nothing short of a miracle to me . The signings he has made have been top notch the biggest one has to be JT his leadership skills are there for all to see ASTON VILLA FOOTBALL CLUB IS BACK and don't we all just love it # IN BRUCE I TRUST.

11 Mar 2018 13:11:02
I completely agree with you Villa Daz at 1st I had my doubts but I must say with time we have got better and better even if we don't go up I would keep Bruce its been a great season no matter what. Well Done Villa Daz for seeing what I couldn't and many others that's why this forum is great so many differnt views. UTV By the way I have just renewed for next season.

What a great display by Aston Villa, 4-1 against Wolverhampton! Next four fixtures for Aston Villa are against QPR at home, Bolton away, Hull away and Reading at home, it could be another 12 points for Aston Villa and we can easily end up on 2nd place at the table after that.

Cardiff will play Brentford away, Derby away, Burton at home and Sheffield United away.

Apparently EFL are looking at Wolves inhouse relationships.
Questions from several teams asking if what is happening is totally legal.

08 Mar 2018 18:39:42
I just read about it, I’m still of the belief that we should just concentrate on ourselves and get up off our own backs and hard work, let them crack on if that’s the way they want to run their club. I highly doubt anything will come of these investigations and doubt even more it would result in points deduction or any serious punishment. Whilst reading about this tho I’ve read from a few sources that the premier league have already said they won’t allow them to run the club in the same way, should they be promoted. Whether they mean having a super agent so heavily involved or just the way they go about transfers I haven’t got a clue but it’s interesting and would be good to watch from the outside should they go up.

Got back from the game, motorway didn't help but boy well worth the trip. stopped off for few beers and all my bets came in as well. nice win, but pointless as the rest won. its like just another game gone. We won in 2nd gear really, that shows how good we are. Hogan never stops running, love that. UTV.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

07 Mar 2018 14:41:40
It`s hardly pointless is it wtw, it simply means we need to keep winning and hope that Cardiff slip up, 2nd place is not in our hands anymore as it was last week.
Any win is never pointless, given the choice I would rather win 1 game and lose 1, than draw 2 games.
And to be honest that game does not show how good we are, it merely shows how poor Sunderland are, we did what was required on the night so I am very pleased with the result, long may it continue.

07 Mar 2018 17:21:15
Cardiff I think is a playoff team its out of Villa and Fulham for me for 2nd Fulham have such a good team its gona be tough. Have you heard than there looking into Mendez role at Wolves Iam not the only 1 who thinks there cheats I was slammed on here now there's a few clubs looking into it maybe they could be docked points? All in all a great win at the stadium of shite again let's continue the good work its so tight I think we need 9 wins.

08 Mar 2018 05:39:41
Walkies, bearing in mind the crap their going through in the boardroom, and how much tosh they've had to watch on the pitch in the past few seasons, and also bearing in mind how lucky we are with all things being equal, how about showing a bit of class and not slag off their stadium, yes, its a quick and easy joke, but i for one have had a lemonade or five in their company and i personally think their fans are top draw, so carry on if you like, but cut them some slack fella, not to wide of the mark to say we could have been in the same boat as them, so for any mackens who may have logged on here by mistake, hope you boys turn it around, you've more class than the bar codes, period.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Mar 2018 07:25:33
I agree don’t slag off their stadium. MY GARDEN SHED, IS BIGGER THAN THIS! You think they were arsed when we went down mate? It’s a shame what their going through but it’s just banter.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Mar 2018 15:55:50
I agree with Chris its just banter I wasnt slating them as fans yes they have been through a lot but what club hasn't when we went down they didn't feel sorry for us its football dog eat dog Iam afraid. On to our club I think its gona go down to the last game of the season for 2nd place if we do it then Bruce deserves manager of the season I wasnt always his biggest fan but he has won me round. An If its the playoffs we might see Kodjia back. UTV.

04 Mar 2018 22:11:22
I am looking forward to Tuesday booked a day off work let's go there and get the 3 points. Everybody's talking how great Fulham are let's focus on our great club win our games let the rest worry about the playoffs people forget we have great players aswel and players are coming back to make us even stronger and we have been on a decent run there's nothing stopping us from doing it again.

So my Prediction for Tuesday Sunderland 1 Aston Villa 3. 1 thing I have noticed about last few games is its the fans who are nervous about the race for promotion and there letting the players no about it who then become nervous themselfs let's just relax play our football if we are good enough we will go up! 1 qwick 1 about blues and Wba all I can say is HAHAHAHA UTV.
