According to swedish newspapers a bid is going to be placed on kopenhagen player Ludvig Augustinsson. thoughts?

01 Jul 2015 23:16:17
I've heard these rumours too, just seems we are being linked with every left back around at the moment, would prefer Robertson or the Ajax left back personally, will just have wait and see

02 Jul 2015 08:08:23
@VillaSWE I think it would just be a waste of money. Take a look at his fathead page.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2015 11:26:31
Um he had a cracking under 21 tournament, was up and down the left all the time, would be better than what we have

Gueye to fly in tomorrow for his medical and complete a 9 million pound move to villa park. Thoughts guys.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2015 22:45:23
Gueye is a box to box midfielder. So maybe it is a replacement for delph. On the other hand wouldn't it great if he was cleverley replacement. here's hoping ay!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2015 08:10:58
9 million seems a bit much, he is a meh player. Good dribbling and ball control though.

Agree0 Disagree2

02 Jul 2015 08:12:06
No way he could replace Delph or Cleverly sorry.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2015 09:11:32
Why not? I hope he can replace cleverley given we're paying 9mil for the kid. If he slots in next to delph all the better.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2015 12:42:25
Anyone can replace cleverly he was useless

Agree1 Disagree2

01 Jul 2015 18:15:09
We have reportedly bid 9m for lille midfielder Gueye, don't know much about him apart from is this a replacement for Delph?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2015 21:55:59 Let's hope not, let's hope he is to slot in with Delph and make us better not just loose and replace and never move forward.

BREAKING: Aston Villa agree £9m fee for Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 22:15:22
Fee excepted by lille, medical and talks tomorrow, I hope so too, Delph is the born leader we need in the middle of the park

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 14:50:39
I hear Liverpool have signed another player clyne from Southampton to be perfectly honest i don't think it matters how many players they buy they will be like man City in the champions league never compete with the best and I think Liverpool do the same in the premier league yes they finished second a couple of seasons ago but I really don't think Rodgers will ever get it right just my thoughts

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2015 17:43:27
They only finished second because of Luis Suarez too (and remember he was there before Rodgers was appointed), and the players they are bringing in are nowhere the same quality.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 17:56:33
With respect mate. Who cares ?
This is a Villa site.
I can understand the chatter about the Red Scouse if it relates to their pitiful media driven efforts to sign Benteke.
But other than that I would have thought anything else is irrelevant.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 20:07:14
True Mendax - but as a fan of football in general its nice to occasionally discuss the opposition too. And it makes up for the lack of stuff going on at Villa at the moment. Should really heat up when/if the takeover happens and an official announcement is made.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 20:25:20
I know what you mean mate. How many books do they have to look at before any prospective bidder makes a decision
As a business, football clubs would seem to be pretty straight forward in terms of establishing your assets and liabilities are
Makes you wonder if it's just a smoke screen for transfer inactivity

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 21:25:11
Hi mendax,I know where your coming from mate but being a football fan it's a bit heartbreaking when a massive club like us is selling our best players to the likes of Liverpool and then being made a laughing stock for making a bid for a Stoke goal keeper it really does get your back up so a bit of bitterness to Liverpool yes mate and I really hope my prediction of Liverpool not doing anything really does stand up

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 21:49:22
I'm starting to think the same mate.

If I was a serious buyer, and any serious buyer knows they need to invest as the playing staff is bottom five at best, you would want it finished BEFORE start of transfer window, and definitely before pre season starts.

I'm starting to think, here we go again.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 23:06:41
Good point.
Why put yourself behind the 8 ball to start with
The longer it drags on, the less likely it is to happen I reckon

Hearing rumours going around today that we have made another bid for Begovic. I really hope so, he's scored more goals than all of our attackers put together!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2015 11:32:58
Hearing that reports from Talkshite that Liverpool have agreed a deal for Benteke and for it to be announced today or tomorrow are well wide of the mark. No fee has been agreed and the player and his agent are out of the country at the moment. So unlikely it will happen. yet anyway

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2015 10:39:03
Liverpool agreed a fee for benteke!! If he went to Chelsea or another big club I wouldn't mind but LIVERPOOL??? Why?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2015 10:52:20
Not heard anything! 100% is that?

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 10:56:44
The deal I'm hearing we have agreed is 28 million and borini. I really hope this ain't true. I'd rather have the 32.5 mil and hope tim has a decent replacement lined up to come in straight away. I'd take Austin all day if we can get for 15 million leaving us 10 mil for townsend and 7.5 towards begovic.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 11:19:26
I'm not shocked by the lack of Champions league club interest in him he's good but not excellent and I personally don't think he's got it in him to be the premier league winning striker.
Its all about opinions but for me if true he will be yet another expensive Rogers disappointment which he will be judged by.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Jul 2015 11:28:36
I would take the 28mil plus Borini and be done with it rather than having to listen to the stories of Benteke leaving all summer (again). I completely agree with Kingvilla use the 28mil to buy 3 players that would improve the quality of the 1st team the players mentioned are also realistic acquisitions (depending on whether Begovic is happy to sit on Chelski's bench or play 1st team football). Then use whatever funds that have been made available to go and buy 2 decent full backs which we have been crying out for for years now.

I would personally take a punt on Glenn Johnson on a free

Agree2 Disagree1

01 Jul 2015 11:39:20
I just red Liverpool won't meet the fee. Not saying it won't happen because I honestly think it will. Would rather the cash though. Not keen on borini.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 11:49:25
I'm hearing no Deal at all that's from both Birmingham and Liverpool local papers

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 12:09:03
Borini is pants! Never made it at Liverpool who has a better team than us but you never know. TS has to go all out for Townsend as he's a great player just doesn't get enough game time.i also agree with max as glen Johnson could still do a job.strenghten the defence a lot with him and Richards.if players don't want to play for the villa then let them leave.id rather have someone that's wants it more than someone that turns up to get paid!

good player - wrong age

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 11:30:28
Agreed he is a good player but at the end of his career however we need leaders in the team and his experience could be invaluable even if it is for only 1 season. Look at what he did for Leicester at the end of last season.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 16:26:33
I don't think big ben is going to be sold because i think with the euros coming up he's fighting to keep his place in belgium team an plus he's the main man at villa an he won't be any where else same as delph aswell some times grass isn't always greener is it we need that takeover to b completed soon so were not left behind with the players we want any one agree

Believable1 Unbelievable2

30 Jun 2015 20:30:15
He doesn't have that much competition for the Striker position in the national side - There's Lukaku, Origi and maybe Batshuayi. Origi's playing time at Liverpool will be limited and Lukaku is pretty hot and cold with his form. I don't think he will go either because it doesn't look like anyone will meet the asking price.

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Jun 2015 22:15:56
Do you no anything bout takeover mate

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 22:36:24
No more than anyone else - period of exclusivity and no-disclosure agreements signed by both parties. I'm sure we will know more in a few weeks either way.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 08:47:01
From a tabloid:

"Tottenham are hoping Aston Villa will accept Emmanuel Adebayor as part of a swap deal with Christian Benteke."

They still would have to pay the 32mil because he would cover the 0.5mil, and they can pay 2/3s of his wages.

NO THANK YOU, overpriced waste of wages!

None of the "top 4" are interested, only seen links with Spurs and Liverpool (who haven't liverpool been linked with)

Believable2 Unbelievable0

30 Jun 2015 09:23:52
I hate to say this, and await the wrath, but I would take a deal for cash with him.
With right manager, and motivation he is on his day at least as good as Big Ben.

No this fault that he is on massive wages.
Some one offered me the same I would take, wouldn't you??

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Jun 2015 11:02:53
If Spurs were to be interested in benteke i'd seriously consider 25m + Townsend swap. Get in Charlie Austin for 15m. That would leave rb/cb (depending on where you play Richards) lb (linked with Ajax lb boilesen who is available for 2.5m- no idea if he's any good, could be another tony moon) and a cm to buy. Denis Praet? Steven Defour? Sam Byram? Will Hughes? Certainly have to give Gardner an opportunity this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 14:32:45
I agree with Flackie here. Adebayor would be useful if he is motivated and he obviously is by Sherwood. This could be a stop gap until the buyout happens and we can invest in a more long term prospect as Adebayor is getting on. Even better if Towsend is thrown in.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 20:32:00
I would much rather have Kyle Walker in as part of the deal, and I wouldn't say no to Townsend. Adebayor on the other hand is just throwing money away, he will have no resale value and his wages will be massive.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jul 2015 02:23:46
Townsend is class and the type of player I would like to see at Villa, if Tim pulls this one off I will be delighted. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 00:48:18
Villa to offer Liverpool 4.5m for Fabio Borini. Unrelated to Benteke interest.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

30 Jun 2015 07:20:41
As much as I kind of hope this is true, as with right coach think this kid would be incredible.
I think it's male cow excrement.
Why would he when already had Gil, and he's going?
It's common knowledge we want lambert.
And all they will do now is add him in to any deal to get Big Ben.

Any way, my mates mums dads next door neighbour knows elvis, he works at the chip shop, now elvis has a mate who is a taxi driver, now Tom, the taxi driver works with manuel, a Spanish taxi driver, he know a Barcelona fan, now this fan has a friend who works at the camp nou, he says there is no chance we will be signing messi.

29 Jun 2015 16:30:30
I see we are been linked to tjaronn chery I think that's how spell his name he looks to have a eye for goal, but keep this hush guys because at the moment we are pretty slow to act on any dealings and Brenda rogers might want him;) why are we so slow at getting things done I know we are up for sale and talking to new buyers but this window is slipping buy lads are going to be in soon for pre season don't the new players need time to gel if we are going to get new players that is, are we just waiting on £32.5 for the beast, I think that's the wrong thing to do we should be trying to show him we are moveing forward by bring in a better class of players

Believable1 Unbelievable1

29 Jun 2015 16:47:38
Transfer window ain't even open yet don't open till the 1st july so hardly slipping by realy. I know there's been some already done but not set in stone it will happen cometh the player cometh the villa!!

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 17:02:21
Well said mate.

Agree2 Disagree1

29 Jun 2015 17:18:04
I know some deals have been done but don't think they are set in stone as the window don't open until the 1st july so its hardley passing us by. frustrating yes I agree and tbh I wouldn't expect an immediate influx of players I think it will be a long slow drawn out process until a deal has been done to buy the villa but like many other fans I hope this is completed sooner rather than later!

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jun 2015 20:14:57
I would rather Sherwood take his time and assess some of the fringe players in pre-season and take a good look at the youth to properly assess where he needs to strengthen. Like the others have said, don't get to downhearted, the window isn't open yet!

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 21:18:51
lets buy these players for villa i grantte villa willbe the top 3/4team walker/angelo/ronechio/jetro/yevhan/clasie/cabaye//sako/balotelli/townsend/ospino/

Agree0 Disagree2

29 Jun 2015 22:12:37
You guarantee??

How??

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 22:36:19
Even with a takeover, that's a whole new starting eleven so there is no way that's even remotely feasible. Flackie questions your guarantee - I would say that with almost certainty at least 2 or 3 wouldn't perform to the expected level and they wouldn't have any chemistry together for months as none of them have ever played together before. Examples: Di Maria, Falcao, Cabella, Balotelli, all total flops!

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 03:38:39
Ron Vlaar has reportedly put contract talks on hold with us to spend the summer working with disadvantaged children in India. Probably something to do with the takeover - I could see him wanting to wait and negotiate a new contract with the new owners in place once he has a clear vision of the direction the club is taking. If this is the case I don't blame him really, but if he leaves its not too big of a loss.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

29 Jun 2015 08:58:48
Its a Dutch Charity he's doing it for, so doubt its something to do with take over

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jun 2015 12:11:20
high guys I have written a few times I,m carbisbay just love the place well don,t you feel like me f-----g fed up reading how we are considering, thinking, offering stupid amts wasting valuble time then loosing our targets as we are so slow then other clubs sneek in and we loose out.we need to get these better players and stop f-----g about eg stoke keeper would most probably have been ours but for a childish offer letting chelski in that's not the only case so ts and yiou other so called directors of football grow up stop waisting our time either you want to start growing stronger or shall we fight once again for our lives my suggestion is sack the idiots and get Liverpool,s team responsible for new ins or do our lot seem worried about flying and buying they don,t let the grass grow do they identify and get em in carbisbay.

Agree0 Disagree2

29 Jun 2015 13:56:40
Carbisbay, To be honest mate I think more than half of the rumours and paper talk we are reading in the press at the moment is all rubbish anyway, papers have to fill spaces and sell papers hence the garbage.
The problem is we (Villa) have made a lot of big mistakes in the transfer market purchasing and selling players over the past decade, and the club do not want to be making the same mistakes again so I am sure they are going to be more careful and vigilant in their pursuit of players in future.
I have no doubt we will be making signings, maybe even as many as six for different positions all over the pitch, but I think a lot of this is all depending on Benteke`s stance.
More often than not the transfer market will go crazy when a couple of big money moves happen, and I think this is a very good example of stalemate at the moment.
We will be fine, and expect some very good unknowns to arrive, Think double dutch !!

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 14:03:47
Ruggers - I didn't mean he's doing charity work in India because the new owners are Indians or anything, my post isn't that clear. What I meant was he's using the fact that he is doing this charity project as a reason why he's delaying his contract talks, because he wants to discuss terms once the new owners are in place.

Hope that's a little clearer.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 16:07:51
Carbisbay - would you rather Sherwood make lower offers for quality players like Begovic which will more than likely be turned down but you never know. OR would you rather he spend the funds he is raising from player sales (he clearly hasn't been sanctioned anything by the board yet.) on similar lower quality replacements?

I think Sherwood is doing a brilliant job this window. We have effectively traded Darren Bent for Micah Richards :) and the rumours circling are for a higher calibre of player than what we have sold.

He has got Ray Wilkins in as Assistant and Kevin MacDonald back working with the youth. Really what else can the man do to please you?

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 16:42:32
I agree, Andy. Good name btw ;) From one Andy to another.

I personally think Sherwood is doing the best he can with all that he has available to him. I was discussing with a friend this weekend, this possible begovic deal and we both came to the possible conclusion that we weren't really THAT interested in him, but we purposely but our names in the hate with a low bid to give Guzan a kick up the arse?
Who knows, certainly haven't been linked to usual has-beens and never heard ofs from the lower leagues, but I agree that most of what has been linked it probably total rubbish, engineered to sell papers and online blogs hit counters.

The other thing I cannot seem to get my head around, is this supposed Delph clause, if it was in there since Jan, why only mention it now? And even if it has ONLY just been found out. I think if it was factual, one of Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool would have met the release clause days ago. Delph for 10m is an absolute steal in the current market.
I also think that if all the above does turn out to be true, that Delph himself would really get hated after his "like brothers" comments and the praise he received countrywide for his loyalty.
Then again I don't think stuff like that actually matters in football does it?
I mean if you wanted to bring up a contradiction or lie that was told in football, you could make a living just off Harry Redknapp alone.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 20:22:59
I mean really apart from the odd deal here and there and Brendan Rodgers buying literally everyone he possibly can, most of the clubs in the league especially the teams around us have done very little business either. So its nothing to be concerned about at this stage.

I agree with the Delph's clause bit fplmorg. I can't see it being that low. To me it sounds like a release clause put in so that he can leave on the cheap IF we are relegated, and the media have got it a bit wrong with the way they are reporting it.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 19:46:11
MCFC want Delph to increase the English quantity.
He will get a lot of games for them as he is a grafter.
We offered him what he wanted to keep him till this summer but if TS fails to buy the rest of the Spuds reserves Delph will be gone.
OR is he waiting like all of us for the buyout.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

28 Jun 2015 18:30:23
With begovic now looking more likely to cool the bench at Chelsea than come to villa park, who would people like to see sherwood go for in the gk market which he obviously thinks need strengthening? we all want courtois or de gea but of the keepers we could attract who is the preferred option? Would you take a punt on Heaton? Personally I'd like to see Kaspar schmichael. Any other options out there?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

28 Jun 2015 19:21:37

28 Jun 2015 19:29:34
I would love to see kasper schmicheal mate.
When they came to vp I thought he looked world class.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 20:51:44
I would much rather the money be spent on some decent full backs and a right winger to pair with Sinclair TBH. Guzan is one of our 3 best players (with Benteke and Delph)IMO so I think any significant funds being pumped into a goalkeeper is a bit misguided.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 20:53:00
Kasper would be a good signing but I don't get that Guzan now is suddenly not good enough??? Ok made calamity against MCFC but surely should use our meager funds towards more quality out field players? Just a thought

28 Jun 2015 21:10:14
Sunderlands gk pantomilan or heaton or mandala french gk he's ace

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 21:30:43
NickB6 I think guzan is a good keeper but I have to say last season was nowhere near his best for us. His shot stopping abilities are fine but I think some of his decision making is questionable at times not only his calamity against city. That's just my opinion. I'd agree I wouldn't put gk as a top priority this summer, certainly an lb and cm are more pressing matters but it seems Tim is actively looking at a new choice No.1.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 22:14:47
I'd try Victor Valdes see if he actually wants some time on the pitch. Wages probably a obstacle but worth a try

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 23:23:46
Cpmm84, if TS has lost faith in Guzan and sees no way back then looks like new keeper time. Was really impressed with Guzan when stepped up to No. 1 but agree last season not his beats, but then again who did have a good one?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 11:14:53
Sherwood would be wasting his time offering £7m for Clasie (he'll go for £10m minimum) just like it was a waste of time offering £5m for Begovic.
Clasie will probably have better options than us right now

Only one thing to say is that if Tim sherwood which I think is a legend a vp already replaces Guzan for any other keeper I think is a stupid move yeah try and bring in Butland as a keeper to try and take the number 1 shirt but God almighty Guzan is on par with the second best keeper in the prem my thoughts are

1. Pantilimon
2. De gea
2. Brad guzan

27 Jun 2015 11:11:24
I would personally still keep him I know he's injury prone and not done a lot lately but still better than senderos and baker. If something is happening behind the scenes he might stay. We will do well to keep any of our better players whilst there is uncertainty at the club

Agree0 Disagree2

27 Jun 2015 15:46:42
personally i would say go other than southampton it not like he's going to a bigger team, if he wants to stay i would stick a 4 yr contract under his nose and no wage increase, he wants to stay he will sign if not toodaloo

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jun 2015 17:36:15
Wouldn't say soton are a bigger team. They have got a few good players granted. Only reason soton are in Europe is because villa lost in the cup final. Any other season we would of been in Europe and wouldn't have the problem we got of our players wanting to move to play in Europe

27 Jun 2015 19:34:10
Happy for Roncrete to go now, one good World Cup doesn't make him a villa great! Too inconsistent probably due to injuries. Too much part of the Lambert era ashen signed there were great expectations! Let's move onto new adventures, thanks Ron but we need to set sights on new defensive make up

for last two years they have finshed 8th and 7th and to be fair can't see them going anywhere but up, so on current form they are better than us. just if we can start getting the right players in we might start making a push for them euro spots

Na mate that ain't true that would of come out long time ago we still have our top players at the club hopefully a takeover happens soon and we can rebuild this club to where it should be!

Agree1 Disagree2

27 Jun 2015 08:50:45
Ridiculous if that 10m buy out fee is true.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Jun 2015 09:20:54
Remember guys, Depph would have been a free this summer so the club would have let Delph (his AGENT) name their terms.
Personally I couldn't believe Delph signed a contract to stay with us, i thought he was a certainty to leave on a free this summer. But now we know why he signed, he made sure he got a reasonable release clause that he knew top clubs wouldn't be scared off from paying.

The club had no choice but to put that low ish release clause in his contract.

Benteke must be wishing his agent was as good as Delph's!

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Jun 2015 11:05:52

It would probably be a £10m buy-out clause if we were relegated. Otherwise, why make him captain?

Today we're linked with Andros Townsend (again), Tom Carroll and Emmanuel Adebayor. Thoughts?

I personally hope to god all three!!

I'd not touch Adebayor

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2015 15:06:06
Yeahhh to be honest i know Adebayor is a controversial one and massively splits opinions but if he came villa for the right price and wasn't on ridiculous money I wouldn't be too upset. Big step up from Gabby and Weiman anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2015 17:20:05
Problem is he will want ridiculous money. I remember reading a while back when he went to Spurs that he wouldn't go unless he was on the same money as he was at City as he wasn't prepared to give up the extra money as he uses a lot to do charity work. In order to force the transfer through City were paying a large portion of his wages even though he was a Spurs player. So I can't see him taking any sort of pay cut whatsoever. He will probably end up in China, Russia or the MLS just to keep his massive wages rather than play regular football in the Premier League.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Jun 2015 17:38:40
I'd love Hernandez to play alongside Benteke and to get Townsend.
With this 3 played with Sinclair as well, I think it would be almost impossible to not score goals
Add Kyle Walker, a decent leftback and a good passing central midfield player and we'd be flying.
Oh, and Begovic as well. I'm glad Sherwood seems to have made a goalkeeper a priority

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2015 18:57:05
The players villa are linked with looks very bright for the future, as I don't know about anyone else but transfer windows for Aston villa is about waiting to see if it's the French or English div 2 that we are getting are new players from.its making the whole thing exciting to see who we will purchase.richards is a great start,if we can get begovic, Townsend,Carroll etc then I don't see why we should all be waiting for a relegation battle, mid table finish is better than worrying about the drop

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Jun 2015 22:20:29
Could we get Hernandez? I know he said he just wants a chance to play and prove his worth but isn't Madrid to villa abit much? Don't get me wrong I'd love nothing more than to see him in a Villa shirt

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Jun 2015 10:24:13
He's not at Madrid anymore. He's back at Man U
He was only on loan at Madrid
It's an interesting point though, when we talk about transfers. We all think it's a case of paying the transfer fee and agreeing the wages
I have family in Madrid and you'd need a shoe horn to get me out of the place if I was a player there, regardless of what you paid me
Unfortunately for us, Birmingham doesn't have the same draw
I think it's a real problem for us.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jun 2015 22:13:03
No to Adebayor. Not worthwhile now. Plus, I'm not overly keen on signing African players unless they are truly world-class given that they disappear every two years for anything up to 2 months.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 01:08:57
At the end of the day, we need a classy striker. Two if Benny leaves. What happened to the Charlie Austin shout? Adeybeyor or Hernandez running alongside Benny, would be the way to go. Can't just keep looking at Benny as the main provided off goals. I think he'll stay another year, so let's make it count!

26 Jun 2015 11:56:20
Hi guys. A friend of mine works with jack grealish's brother. He said grealish told him benteke with be gone in the summer which is not a surprise. But also delph is leaving aswell. Seems abit far fetched about delph tbh but he was adamant. Thoughts??

Believable3 Unbelievable5

wouldnt surprise me mate iam furious the way my clubs being run selling all our top players all the time here is a great idea start buy propa premier league players an we might not lose our best players they only want to leave because we are buying crap league 1 players comes to somethink when players would rather go to stoke than us. I have it on great info that the takeover is off and tom fox will be acting chairman till somebody really wants it as lerners washed he's hands off it. We are now living in a world where bournmouth can spend more money than us. Another relegation fight

{Ed007's Note - That would be a cracking signing or Villa.}

This would be a massive signing for us, let's hope first team football is a better lure than Chelsea bench

Agree1 Disagree2

25 Jun 2015 18:52:52
It would be a great signing although I think Guzan is good enough. If we have a limited amount of money to spend I don't think the Goalkeeper spot should be a spot we look to spend that much money on when we need new strikers, wingers, and defenders as a much higher priority.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Jun 2015 20:16:14
Begovic would be a great signing. Guzan has been great for us but his distribution has become worse and it has affected his confidence. Time to move him on if he's not happy with sitting on the bench.

hi people i was talking to steve staunton again tonight he said he's heard the takeover is now off and sherwood has a budget of 20 mill an anythink he sells lerners taking a back seat as we know so tom fox will run things this season till we can find a buyer. Iam gutted because for once i would like to buy players that aren't from league 1 of england or france. i mean what's the point in watching a team fight to stay up every year sick of it! soon as i hear more will let you know sorry for the bad news!

Lerner only wants to sell the club to someone that can take villa further that's why it has not sold straight away. If there is a non discloser agreement why would an ex player know about it you prefer to listen to an ex player who knows as much as the people on hear !!!

Agree0 Disagree1

24 Jun 2015 12:01:09
We are being linked today to avenatti a 6 ft 5 striker who plays in Italys 2nd division. 3 million quid is the price. To be honest I hope this is rubbish as for 3 million his strike rate is poor and he is unproven at lower league level let alone the premiership. If this is the type of player we going for sherwood should give helenius a crack as for the just over 1 million we paid for him he looks a far better player and would offer us more than this guy. Please tim No.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Jun 2015 12:54:43
Hi Kingvilla.
Sure I read somewhere that Helenius had problems with homesickness and depression, so I don't really think he is ever going to be a viable option for us.
At the end of the day, his health is more important than the club he plays for. I wish him well

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2015 13:14:05
Yea helenius had an addiction to sleeping tablets. I hope Sherwood takes a look at him before he decides to get rid.
Probably need two strikers for next season so if we took a punt on an unknown I wouldn't be downbeat on the idea providing a proven goalscorers brought in too.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2015 14:30:02
Oh right fair play then mendax. I did not know this. Just thought he was being cast aside without even ever being give a chance. Like you so well put his health comes first and happiness and I wish the guy well if he moves on. And finch I agree we do need two strikers and yes if we were to sign a proven striker a punt would be fine. What worries me is benteke goes and we sign some punt and we left with gabby a punt player and youth.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2015 14:30:38
Kingvilla, I posted this rumour on the 20th of this month and nobody seemed to bother.
It was a strong link back then and it is still being mentioned now.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2015 16:42:39
No problems KV, Just thought I would mention it, and not sure if anything will happen but the links seem to be strong and have not gone away yet !!!
When I first noticed this rumour I did a bit of research and it appears he is wanted by a couple of prem sides and a couple in Europe, his record however is improving he scored 13 in 39 last term so that’s 1 in 3 games.
That record although not great is better than Weimann, Agbonlahor and Delph put together.
And to note Bentekes record at 6 clubs before he came to Villa was not much better at 1 in 2.65 games.
It has to be said that sometimes people see things in people that other don’t see.
If Sherwood thinks he is worth a punt I back him 100%.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2015 21:27:41
Yes definitely I'd back tim to if he thinks the guy is worth a punt. Hope he comes good.

Agree0 Disagree1

24 Jun 2015 22:54:36
I would also sign John Guidetti on a free transfer. He is without a club, and he is a proven goalscorer. At 23 years, he would be an outstanding signing in my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm a Celtic supporter and Guidetti was on fire when he first started last season but it wasn't long before he dropped off, his attitude is stinking and he has done nothing to warrant the £60k a week he's looking for. I was expecting a hungry player looking to prove a point and show what he can do, overall I was very disappointed with him.
In my opinion Guidetti will be one of those players who moves on every two years, never really settles anywhere and causes problems if he doesn't get his own way. He was over ruled on the park over taking a penalty during the League Cup final - he grabbed the ball even though he wasn't the designated taker and tried to wrestle it out the kicker's arms even after the captain stepped in, it was embarrassing to see - and after the game he headed straight up the tunnel still shouting about the penalty while his team mates celebrated on the park.
Aston Villa need to be all pulling in the same direction next season and play as a strong solid team/unit, I'm not sure Guidetti offers that or the reliability you will need. He'll say all the right words as he strives to become a fans favourite but behind the scenes it's a different story. His father is seemingly very vocal and very difficult to deal with.
Now I might be wrong but Guidetti is someone who I've kept an eye on because I thought he would be ideal for Celtic and I was delighted when he came up here on loan last summer but by the turn of the year I decided that I'd rather Celtic looked elsewhere this summer.}

25 Jun 2015 10:55:07
I didn't know about this. Thank you for opening my eyes, mate. You've been so helpful. Congratulations on winning the Premiership last season.

News I'm hearing today is reference Christian Benteke. A lot of contact from Villa with Benteke and his agent. This could either mean new contract or as I'm led to believe that the player will ask for a move. Favourites would be United in a player plus cash move.
Villa want to keep this quiet but it won't be long before this is made public.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

23 Jun 2015 19:23:04
I think your statement is pretty much common knowledge to be honest, and is obvious that it will be one or the other.
We as villa fans are not stupid and realise that something like this is going to happen anyway.

Agree1 Disagree1

23 Jun 2015 21:08:48
Its inevitable Benteke will leave sooner or later and I'm not adverse to a player plus cash deal. Rumours of Nani being the player have been circulating for a while and that isn't necessarily a bad deal. We will then have enough money for a decent replacement for where we are right now.

Agree2 Disagree1

23 Jun 2015 14:21:28
I'm sure some of you have seen an article going around suggesting that Gabby Agbonlahor is too comfortable at the club and it would benefit both if they parted ways. So should we sell him?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

23 Jun 2015 14:56:25
No, we shouldn't.
We should pay someone to take him

Agree2 Disagree1

23 Jun 2015 16:22:22
think he is a player who we miss when he isn't in the team yes he isn't the best finisher but hit a ball into a channel and let him chase it down see how he does with sherwood for 6 months

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jun 2015 17:20:46
Don't really know why I have an unbelievable - its a Matt Kendrick article from the Birmingham Mail if anyone is interested. Personally I would keep him and use him sparingly (impact sub, cup games etc.) and get his wages down next time it comes up. If he has to take a pay cut to stay at Villa then we will really see how loyal he is.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Jun 2015 17:36:32
I think we stand by him as he is villa through and through.
But look at it with your head and not a sentimental heart.
Other than one dimensional football, long ball and hope his pace beats everyone, what does he offer??
Can't finish.
Can't cross.
Can't pass more than ten yards.
Can't tackle.

I agree he gives us 100% of what he has. But, and this is the painful part, what he has is not very good.
Personally he would struggle to get in a championship side.
We deserve better.

Agree2 Disagree1

23 Jun 2015 18:02:00
I think Matt Kendrick is spot on, I have let my feelings known many times on this site about Agbonlahor and they have not changed.
I think if he warms the bench for a few weeks he might realise that just because he supports Villa and that he has been there since school he has no devine right to be in the side.
Let`s be honest here, he has been very reliant on his pace in the past, he has very little technical ability, on top of that he is not getting any younger, so he is going to slow up big time.
Most of his performances this season have been shocking, and for those reasons I would get rid.
I will now wait for the slagging off, sorry in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jun 2015 08:53:11
We are clearing people out but for next to nothing and not really freeing up any major wages as they are Lamberts budget signings, e.g Lowton and Sylla. Lowton for £1m is a bargain i know he wasn't at his best last season but given a run he's half decent, still remember that stoke goal! Good to see he's putting his stamp on the swuad though just hope when this takeover is sorted one way or another there's as many incomings as outgoings

Just to add the takeover should be completed early July. The only thing I'm not sure of is if the Chinese group are going to be hands on or just sit back as silent investors as I'm not privy to that info.
The rumour I've heard is that when they were approached 6 months ago it was to be only as investors but they've since changed and decided it's more beneficial to grow Aston Villa as a brand in Asia.

23 Jun 2015 21:16:30
growing Aston Villa as a brand in Asia will take serious money and I'm not sure he current FFP rules will allow that. But that doesn't mean we can't spread the spending over a few seasons rather than in one or two transfer windows. problem is where would we be able to try and maximise the name of the club? China? Premier League Football isn't widely followed so can't see that being much use for us. Liverpool and the usual suspects have got the Hing Kong-Singapore market sewn up, and given that knock off shirts are ten a penny, and good quality, in South-East Asia it begs the question whether 1) This is true and 2) Whether trying to grow us as a brand is going to take more time and money than these (Chinese) owners would possibly care to spend on us.

We need real class down at villa park caulker would be a good signing along with walker, song, remy, nzonzi and maybe ba and a few others but we need strength and depth in all positions, do you remember last year we were unbeaten until we got injuries we need a good solid platform and we could easily make top 4 if Liverpool did it I'm sure we can, Tim sherwood should bring in these players and he has the ability to get us up the table, new owners are a must come on villa we should be a top 6 team

Walker maybe a chance as spurs may sell. I'd also take remy. Lots of links about to good players that would no doubt improve us but at the mo that's all they are links. Evening Villa fans, I work as a football agent, mainly for youth players but it does get me info on a lot of 'rumours'. As a Villa fan Thought I'd pop on here.
The Townsend link is true but the player wants European football, deal will happen if no 'big' clubs bid.
I've also seen links to Borini and Kyle Walker.

I understand your frustration villa1980, believe me I do! I think at the moment though there will be a bit of a fire sale on for at least another five members of our current squad. TS wants to mould the squad to his perception of what we need to compete for top ten to start with. Getting rid of big wage earners and underperforming players is what we need. We have gone too long without a true identity of how we should actually play and with TS we have an idea. He obviously wants a solid back four as the majority of links with the club have been defensive players such as the completed Richards deal. He will more than likely only add a couple of midfielders/attackers as going forward with Delph playing more advanced produces goals. keep your chin up and I'm certain 2015/16 is the year the sleeping giant opens his eyes!

Just a quick update, Huddlestone has opted for surgery to fix an ankle problem that he had for much of the season.
It has been stated that he should be ready for the seasons opener.
They are saying that a move to villa now looks unlikely ???

Believable4 Unbelievable0

19 Jun 2015 19:42:44
Good - I don't think he's any better than Westwood so would be a pointless signing. He's also incredibly slow and rarely scores and we really need to add goals from midfield. I think I read somewhere the fee would be like 5 million too which is way, way too much.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 11:42:37
Jack Wilshere. Jordan Henderson, both currant England players would disagree with you, both have said how good he is ,don't forget everyone gave Delph stick when coming back from injury, give Gardner a chance or would you rather spend £££ amount on Huddleson

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 12:39:15
What you seem to be saying is, and I apologise in advance for paraphrasing your comments, is " I don't know for certain myself that he is good enough for the team. But 2 of his mates say he is so that's good enough for me "
As for the comment about Huddlestone, I don't believe I mentioned him
As it happens, I would prefers we spent £££ amount on someone other than Huddlestone.
My point is not that I DON'T Gardner is good enough. It's that I don't know that he is good enough .And, that I don't know how anyone else can be so certain
that he is, yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 13:13:28
Thought I'd chip in with my two pence worth. like it's been said we haven't seen enough of Gardner to say whether he would be a success or not. I would rather see us bring in a proven midfielder that will help us not be in situations like we have been and then introduce Gardner over the course of the season, similar to Grealish. And let's be honest, other players are hardly going to come and and say " oh yeah don't play him because he's shite" now are they?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 13:14:29
You don't and I don't no, but give him a chance ,his reviews at forest were great, ok in the championship ,Delph lifted his game after injury I hope Gardner can, given the chance

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 15:23:46
Hi Villajk. You are right, we should give him a chance. Perhaps, play him in all the cup games ? As a start
What we can't do is take a risk with him in the league. He should only play there when it's clear he is good enough to displace those already there
I would love to see him break into a really strong Villa midfield. Not to be in the team because we've lowered the bar in terms of quality, such that an unproven, inexperienced kid, with a history of injuries is somehow seen as our saviour.
Let's buy some decent quality players in the middle of the side and see if he is good enough to make it into the first 11 on merit. I hope he is

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 15:35:41
Very articulate Mendax and your post re-iterates the fact that despite the need to bring our youth players through we still need a quality back bone to the team. cup games and other opportunities are the way forward for players like Gardner. As much as I would like to see him progress, I'm just not so sure about his potential. Does anyone else feel that our youth academy has gone off the boil a little bit?

Problem is. Might still take a while. And may miss out on targets, or, worse still, lose any quality we have.

Possibly. if only we had someone in the know who knew what was going on. where's KingVilla when you need him??

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jun 2015 18:08:07
Problem with RVP is his extortionate wages and he's getting over the hill so will have no resale value - poor business in my eyes. I agree that we will have no major signings until the takeover is concluded and it is a shame that we are missing out on players (Trippier signed for spuds today). At least Sherwood seems to have been given licence to use any funds he can generate by clearing out the squad - m presuming the Micah Richards deal was allowed because Darren Bent was off the wage bill.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Jun 2015 18:28:01
Yeah I agree with that last point Andy regarding wages. so bent, Weimann and Lowton are all gone. who do you think is next??

probably Vlaar to go next - hopefully this rumour of Delph to Man Citeh goes away sharpish.

No argue that rvp is not getting any younger.
But assuming Big Ben goes. Selling on value is pointless, he is at the age where he would sign for rest of career. His goals would be worth every penny.
He is quality, is a signal of intent, and has a point to prove.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jun 2015 20:23:37
Surely Tonev, Sylla, Helenius, Aly Cis, Given, Are priorities to get off the wage bill followed by Senderos and N'Zog

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jun 2015 20:56:35
Isn't he on something like 250 grand a week, even if he takes a big paycut that's beyond our means - I don't care how loaded the owners are you've got to build gradually up to that level of wages. And I completely disagree about the sell on value being pointless - Say we get 15 million for Benteke with RVP thrown in, and RVP goes at the end of his contract with us for free.

Now consider getting 30 million for Benteke, spending the 15 million RVP would be on Charlie Austin, and we sell him with a year or two left on his contract for X amount. That's X amount more than the RVP deal so is always more financially sound.

Agree1 Disagree1

19 Jun 2015 21:38:49
I see your point!
But i'm assuming the new owners are the wealthy that money is no object, and sell on is not in thoughts!!

Andi Weimann has apparently sealed a 2.75 million move to Derby County - Bearing in mind DB9 has gone too we are a bit thin on the striker front.

So do we invest in any replacements or try to give some of the academy players an opportunity to make the first team squad?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

18 Jun 2015 23:18:13
I think it will be a bit of both Andy to be honest. looks like TS is trying to offload dead weight as early as possible which is a good thing. think it's going to be a very interesting summer!!

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jun 2015 23:31:07
I think it is a necessity for us to invest in at least in 1 or 2 proven additions. The younger lads need proven players ahead of them on the pitch for them to aspire to fulfill their potential without the burden of having to hit the ground running. It would be a huge risk to enter into the new season with Benteke, Kozak and Robinson especially with question marks over the first two fitness wise both having spent lengthy periods out of action injured.Even if Benteke were to stay another proven Prem or top league goalscorer is a must.

Agree1 Disagree3

19 Jun 2015 04:57:30
I wonder if Tim might be giving Helenius a chance to prove himself this season, if Benteke leaves then I see us signing another central striker but if he stays I reckon he'll use Kozak Gabby an Helenius as competition for Benteke

Not sure about Huddlestone. It wasn't that long ago he was playing well and pushing for an England call. Didn't go well last season though. It also depends on how Sherwood would want to use him. Rigobert Song run the midfield when he came on for west Ham against us and Huddlestone could play that role and feed a higher tempo midfield in front of him. Maybe.

good, but don't like Huddlestone or Vardy so I hope we don't sign then.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jun 2015 19:12:37
I think we've seen good and poor with Ron. Some great strikes, but has been questionable on many occasions. His performances in the World Cup put him favourably in the spotlight but that was playing at Full Back not Centre Half. Injuries and penalties are other items on his downside.

I think we have a need to look for better consistency and leadership.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jun 2015 19:45:13
Honestly got to the point where I'll be gutted to see him stay. He's not good enough for us let alone "stepping up" Old injury prone liabilty.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jun 2015 20:33:30
Maybe the signing of Micah Richards is a direct replacement for Vlaar. I don't think money would be sanctioned if they are in the middle of takeover talks unless it was absolutely necessary.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jun 2015 23:11:12
We have a much better replacement for vlaar in Richards, powerful quick and hopefully he'll score a few more. Hopefully this right back from nice will see sherwoods intentions for villa and follow suit. Townsend has also been linked again a natural winger just what we need, just need some more fire power

Wang jianlin to complete his 150 million takeover of villa by the 10th of July. He is already going to fund the deals this summer and sherwood will be given the season to see how he goes. Don't know about you all but I'm quite encouraged by some of the young talent we being linked with and hope we can land most of them.

aston villa will be taken over by july 5th. the new owner will be mike arison big buddy of lerners. apparently he has sanctioned Sherwood some funds to bring in players this window

huddlestone
trippier
Richards
vardy or Austin
the surprise one is that villa are one of the clubs bidding for carlos tevez. benteke will go to spurs for 20 million and we get townsend. vlaar to man utd and we get Wilson on loan.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - Vlaar's out of contract so why would they give anyone on loan in return?}

16 Jun 2015 13:21:22
as a sweetner to make sure deal goes through quickly apparently we have first choice to loan wilson

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - why would there be a sweetener when it is nothing to do with Villa as he is out of contract! Are you not understanding what that means?}

16 Jun 2015 15:43:00
Trippier is on the verge of joining Spurs. Vlaar is on a free so wouldn't involve any negotiations with Man Utd at all.

You've made all this up haven't you?

It always amazes me, the plethora of BS artists we have making wild unfounded statements. Professional journalists will be spending hours, using a host of contacts etc trying to be the first with the scoop on who is buying Villa but we are supposed to believe this nonsense ?
Arison has been mentioned several times in the past and nothing has materialised. Boring.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 19:01:32
as a villa fan I don't want villa to be linked with Swindon, sheff wed players etc. richards is a great signing, we should be after prem bench players or free agents like Townsend, ake, Johnson Gibbs, zouma etc as to not break the bank and to strengthen the team! Just to improve on what we have got

you will see soon enough I got the above info from somebody inside the club also I can tell you that fabian delph will be leaving villa this transfer window and going to man city for 16 million villa have asked them about edin dzeko to see if he is available either swap or cash deal and one more piece of news is that villa are interested in signing Julian draxler on a loan deal with a permanent deal at the end if everything goes well. micah Richards medical wed or thurs this week. grealish may be sold due to Sherwood having doubts about his attitude towards the club. huddlestone and brady will join the club next week given weimmann tonev cissohko lowton Bennett westwood sylla helenius luna gardner will all be leaving aston villa watch this space

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they wouldn't ask about Dzeko to see if he is available as Citeh have already been inviting offers for him. So why would they need to ask that?}

16 Jun 2015 09:45:11
Seeing Villa have made a "attractive" bid( no figure shown) for Nice for left-back Jordan Amavi. Don't know much about him but apparently a host of clubs are after him so must be decent. On the negative side, he supposedly has no interest in is! Typical.

Villa are being taken over by a group including Howard Hodgson & Ian Taylor along with a few other businessmen. Being bankrolled by a big Chinese Equity firm supposedly worth £6bn. Deal will be completed by the beginning of July.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

16 Jun 2015 09:38:14
Ah so you've figured out my post on 12/06/15 about a well known villa fan(Hodgson) and former player who used to stand in the Holte End(Taylor) being backed by China Equity group. Did you know that Randy is giving 30 mill of the 180 mill back for new players as a goodbye goodwill jesture.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 12:05:42
The figure is £150m plus £27m to cover the cost of the clubs overdraft that has been built up over the last three years. I don't know anything about Randy giving £30m as a parting gift. I know that KCP are also involved in the deal.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jun 2015 12:43:44
Don't know how true this is but it would be great having Ian Taylor involved! Prope football man and Villa through and through

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jun 2015 13:01:50
I could of confused the parting gift as covering the overdraft, the Chinese equity group are worth 7 billion. And KCP are definitely involved. I didn't mention Hodgsons name last week (instead used clues i.e well known fan) as a NDA was signed but you've lifted the lid. The thing is when I mentioned it I was mocked last week, hopefully they will believe you.

13 Jun 2015 09:23:37
Not sure about the ex player and fan bit however Aston Villa have reportedly accepted a bid of £200 million from a Chinese source allegedly the chap who was looking to buy Southampton. Wang Jainlin is the guy's name. KPMG are currently carrying out an audit of the accounts presented by Deloittes. Tom Fox has admitted in the Express and Star that the takeover could hamper signings. I cannot disclose what I do for a living however the source is very good indeed.

Nope Randy Lerner did not tell me himself but as I'm sure you're aware the club has been up for sale for some time now and there was a lot of info in the media about RL lowering his asking price from 200 million to 150 million. The medias figures should never be taken as gospel but they are in the right ball park more often than not, and it was a wide spread story and not just a couple of lines in the back of the local rag.

Deals I have heard from reliable sources.
Jordan Rhodes seamed unlikely, however Boro are to make a strategic deal which combines an element of factors such as a promotion add on aswell as app/ goal add on to rovers. The initial price will range from 4 to 5 million. Add ons will push it to around 9.5 million. Other interested but Boro are the leaders of the pack.

Nathan Ake and Thomas Kalas will join the club upon the opening of the window.

Bids have been made for Geroge Friend by Aston Villa but he will not be allowed to leave for less than 6 million. Lowton may be used as an incentive.

Pompey target Enda Stevens was released by Aston Villa yesterday, and the Blues will look to secure the signining of the left back in the coming days.

At last we can get rid of the Yank.
We might then get some money for the manager to spend on buying some proven players.
Regardless of what many others think, our managers have been restricted to basement buys hoping that they will develop into prem. players.
£44.6m over 4years was insufficient to develop a team.
Some god buys came in but they may well go before the sale goes through. One can only hope that Benteke waits to see what the near future may bring.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 23:23:55
Apparently an exclusivity agreement has been made giving the party making the bid 6 weeks where we can't entertain any other suitors as well as no disclosure agreements.

So it must be very serious to have got to this stage but we won't know who it is until its completed - Lerner has always said he wouldn't let the club go to people who don't have the clubs best interests at heart so we shouldn't end up with someone like Carson Yeung or Mike A$hley. But with the length of time the club has been up for sale I think he will take the first decent offer on the table.

Like 'The Villain' say's I hope it gets done sooner rather than later so we can get on with rebuilding the team.

I have a contact who knows Alex Ferguson really well and AF claims Johnny Evans is best defender Man Utd but not being allowed to show his potential. Might be worth a punt

Hopefully its just a case of lazy journalism but it did say we were going to haggle over the 10 million price tag, maybe a bit of Harry's wheeler dealer mentality has rubbed off on Sherwood!

The last time we spent over 10 million on a player was Darren Bent, and we choose to spend it on Jonny Evans - I just can't see a universe where this is a real possibility.

Lol. I wasn't going to waste my time replying to this stupid rumour because it's absolutely ridiculous!
But I am hoping anyone thinking or even suggesting we'd spend £10m on J Evans needs their head looked at, and I hope you get treatment quickly!
