Deal agreed for Grabban.
Season loan.

12 goals in a poor Sunderland side, good addition, something different off the bench.

31 Jan 2018 19:02:15
I would go 442 now.

31 Jan 2018 19:23:39
I can’t find the deal done anywhere. are you sure?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 19:34:38
I have said deal agreed Flackie, on sky sports.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 19:52:52
It is listed at 16.36 at the transfer centre.

Ive herd rumour defoe has been seen in birmingham this evening.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 20:50:10
Dave I see that now, thank you!
But I’m assuming it’s not gone through as not anywhere else?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 21:09:41
Everyone reported done earlier, Birmingham Mail, sky, Alan Nixon, but then BBC WM at the same time tweeted saying they’d been told the deal isn’t close to being done, weird one.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2018 09:14:21
Grabban looks a ok signing,
He is a journey man with so many clubs but we could be his team to get him to settle
Some reading up on him seems me to think he could have a attitude problem but we will wait and see on that,
But he scores goals at end of day and that's why we got him
No better time to start than against Burton on Saturday,

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 11:59:44
We are in talks for grabbon from Bournemouth. What do we think is he any better than what w already have.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2018 12:08:20
100% better!

Agree0 Disagree2

31 Jan 2018 12:22:23
Grabban is ok but is he simular to Hogan in playing style?
Thought Bruce was after a proper big number 9,
Wait and see I suppose.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 12:46:17
Grabban is just over a 1 in 3 goal ratio in career mostly in lower leaques but seen his goals on video and impressed with his taking chances,
Could have been a lot worse if this goes through,

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 15:19:29
I think we need a bit of pace central and up the wings i'd love a sililar player to ashley young back inside .

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 16:31:27
My worry about grabban is that people who know him well in Bournemouth say he has to play alongside a big man to get the best out of him,
But can't see Bruce playing him up top with Davis
That's why I'm surprised we are going for him,
Wyness says a player coming in has to be good enough to go straight into the first team,
His goals record is good but I'm not to sure he is what we need,
We could have done better but I suppose we could have done a lot worse as well,
We will see if he signs,
Adobe would have been a better choice but he seems favourite to go to wolves.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 10:59:12
I can not believe the club are turning their backs on Hutton.
Most committed and underrated player we have. Best right back, best left back. always an out for the ball, and is genuinely our enforcer, never moans, from what I hear first at training, and last to leave. yet the club willing to turn back on him.
Disgrace.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2018 15:39:22
Alan hutton is committed and he tackles like johnny giles chin up alan hutton.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 15:58:02
How long should we keep hutton his been good but his ageing Flackie not good enough for the premier league.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Jan 2018 17:48:17
So he isn’t good enough as a squad player?
Whether you think him rubbish or not good enough he has earnt the right to be offered a contract, and whether he good enough, he is still the best at the club, on both flanks!

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 10:15:57
Understand that Hutton will not be retained at the end of his current contract.
Some have given him a lot of stick in the past.
Hutton has never shirked a challenge, always a 100% player.
Personally I hope he gets a good offer from another club.
Forget the "bomb" squad, if asked to play in goal he would have done it.
A proper pro, very few about.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

31 Jan 2018 10:52:19
Agree 100% about Hutton
Great pro
Took stick over the years here but came back stronger than ever to prove how important he is to the team.
All the best where ever you go at end of season,
Puts the likes of gabby and Richards to shame.

Agree4 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 10:54:41
I’m gutted that this is happening.
Might not be the most skilled player we seen at vp, but definitely the most committed.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 11:33:32
Hutton commitment is his middle name.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Jan 2018 03:34:34

Brilliant win, hard place to go . Big Sam was outstanding, some of his saves where pure class . How he never got man of the match, I don't know . Thor also had a great game, some of his passing was realy good . Overall a great team performance, we can certainly grind results out now . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

A friend of mine today said Villa have ask about berahino on loan can't see it but interesting.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

27 Jan 2018 07:35:23
If that's the sort of thing your mate talks about, bearing in mind berahino couldn't hit a barn door with a shotgun, the best thing you can do is disown your mate!

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jan 2018 13:09:26
Berahino?
Surely not,
How many goals has he scored since leaving the baggies,?
Mind you how many 90min games has he done?

Yes, he must be an outsider but we need scorers.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2018 19:20:15
Spent serious money and time on RMc so why not see if he can offer some cover up front if nothing is happening in this transfer window? If anything if he put in a couple of good shows it could help with sell on because his price currently can't get much lower if he bombs again! UTV.

25 Jan 2018 12:31:10
Axel tuanzebe now about to sign now,
So is the question "does he have to play when fit"
If So who makes way?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2018 16:07:09
Nice to see were off the Mark, first one in . Mainbob from what they say, he's comfortable playing in a range of positions . Somebody like this could be realy useful over the rest of the season . He should certainly ad some power and energy where ever he plays . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

CREVELLI.
Are we really looking at a striker who hardly ever scores?
We have one but he now plays in Oz and generally fans don't want him back. I know that he is seen as a lazy sod but he is scoring, albeit in a third grade league.
Should we pursue this new name and hope or just walk away?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Jan 2018 09:20:44
Walk away simply!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 21:47:25
Some reports tonight saying we're keeping an eye out just in case ulloa doesn't work out, depending on slimani joining newcastle, £5 million has been mentioned for nakhi wells, how true that figure i don't know, so should the question be, which of those two suits our style of play more, and i'm guessing nakhi wells, but who knows, we could gave another week of these shenanigans!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2018 22:11:32
Ain't Palace in for Ulloa too? If I had the choice, I'd go for Vardy from all the Leicester strikers, if only so we get a low quote from his family to get the North Stand car park re-tarmacced?

UTV.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 22:26:48
So rumour is we’re looking at Slimani? Or Ulloa might fall through if Slimani goes to Newcastle? Can’t tell from that mate but I can’t see us getting Slimani in a million years, got to be fake.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 23:32:39
It says in local press that silami was subject of bids from Newcastle and one other. They won’t let Ulloa and the spicy sausage leave in same window. But the sausage wants to stay, so is not interested.
Just got the record. Vardy isn’t from pikey blood, his family couldn’t do the tarmac, he’s just a scum bag, and his family would take the cars parked there.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 23:53:42
what i meant Chris was that the barcodes want slimani, if he goes puel won't let ulloa leave as well, so as usual, nothing straight forward, that's why i'd go nakhi wells, if hogan has an injury, wells can step in almost like for like., though its being whispered about the forward from strasbourg on loan, his contract finishes in june, so figures in region of £50-100,000 being talked about, but i heard a little titbit that we were looking at bringing in a young striker from the irish league as a bit of a punt, last option stuff, but who knows anymore, maybe walkies can chat to his old opo keith wyness and let us know, and where's
Kingvilla?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2018 13:54:03
The good Dr is tweeting that a signing is expected,

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2018 22:52:35
Where is top of the league now? I actually do believe that we can win the league. People will say we made hard work of today but the game was already won and we took her foot off the pedal a bit. Jack grealish at this level nobody can handle him and Hogan starting to look like the player that he was at Brentford. I also thought Bjarnsson was great today see what happens when you play a player in his proper position. Well done boys UTV.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

21 Jan 2018 07:50:16
I agree walk the walk.
If we can get the gap down to 9 or 6 points by the time they come to Villa Park then it’s game on.
In this league every team has a bad spell and wolves are due there’s soon and they’ve been lucky with no injurie to there big players.

Friends in low places tell me the belgian fella is samuel bastien, apparently we've wanted him since 2015,reports say combative midfielder, scores from distance and is good with the ball at his feet, i thought we had lansbury for that, but there again, what the heck do i know, only thing in our favour is we can offer him first team football and allegedly more money (? ),

So would anybody play bjarnson saturday the last two games his played for us his played well I think on this 1 Bruce hasn't helped. his a central Mid he knew that when he brought him so why play him lbk and left wing?

Bruce has made him look a bad player he described him as a robbie savage but with class when he 1st come so he knows his a central mid he just didn't want to upset his fav Glen Whelan.

he wouldn't dare play Robbie Savage at lbk so why do it to Bjarnson. Belive me played at central mid his a good player and he has a eye for goal aswel. UTV just a thought hate managers who play player out of place Villa fans have slated the poor guy and not 1 of you have said well why is he playing lbk and left wing.

Steve Agnew - take a bow, he's working his magic with brucey again, his enthusiasm, with terrys' is infectious, i just hope pullis doesn't try and stick his oar in and play the 'your hometown needs you' card, Agnew has that magic ingredient that puts players at ease, and somehow, when he works with brucey, it just clicks, their record together speaks for itself.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haven’t heard it but he was awful at blues and doesn’t really fit the mound of striker we need. Bruce said today we are close to one loan which I’m guessing is Ulloa, hopefully get it over the line before Barnsley at home.

I disagree. I think if you read it again, he is losing patience with negativity.

Agree6 Disagree0

11 Jan 2018 16:08:41
If he wants to blame anybody he should blame himself he hired RDM he hired Steve Bruce all have wasted our money on bang average players. The key to this lesson is don't invest in something you know nothing about then moan when it goes wrong. If you have a business you need to know a bit about it not just invest in the latest chinese craze.

Agree0 Disagree5

11 Jan 2018 16:08:24
The tweet I saw was dated the 8th Jan which was my mistake I thought it was his latest,
But compare the one I saw to what he said today he has said 2 completely different views on where we are,

Agree0 Disagree2

11 Jan 2018 18:14:59
He is on about negativity within the club fans etc and with reading some posts on here you can see why negativity breeds negativity the good dr is the best thing that has happened to our club for a long time and I can see him saying sod this I'm off because of some negative fans would I blame him NO.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Jan 2018 19:59:34
He also has been having a go at wolves style of management for Mendez bringing in good players. Wolves fans replied rightly You have wasted millions. Its his bad management of a club we came down and blew all our parachute money he's on about negativity but he was the one who started the negativity for getting crap managers who then wasted money on crap players.

Agree0 Disagree6

11 Jan 2018 20:58:05
Utter rubbish.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Jan 2018 21:43:54
RDM was the wrong choice (his choice) and we've been playing catch up ever since. If he's a businessman, he wants us to go up and he'll easily double his investment when we do, that's the time I'd be keeping an eye on his tweets

Wtw you have got be most negative person ever.
Yes he hired di matteo but his cv wasn't bad. He hired Bruce I'm not his fan but at the time I was delighted. Yes we spent a load and a lot were flops but we're not only club do that. To be honest every signing I've been happy with but some can't handle pressure of fans jumping on there bk.
If we didn't spend money you moan then aswell.
Think going give this site miss for a bit. You just put people on a downer.
Get behind the team club and owner. And shut up moaning.

Oh I feel so depressed, how awful things are! Our last home game we could only put 5 past lowly Bristol City who were second in the division! To make life worse we are 5 points off automatic promotion. The nail in the coffin is we are going to have to have 10 changes to the team on Saturday. I am so envious of the feel good factor at small Heath and Sandwell town! It could be worse I could be a dingle!
Let's get real here and can't wait to see how villa first team squad perform at the city ground tomorrow, every manager will make some bad signings. The most successful manager of our time bought Djemba DJemba remember for ManUtd and probably a few others. UTV.

Villa launch double loan swoop for Leicester's Ulloa and Amartey.
Everyone knows about Ulloa and anyone who watches us play I think can see he'd be brilliant in our team. Didn't know much about Amartey but judging from Leicester fans opinion he sounds like Jedinak with legs, although they say he's not excellent on the ball. Would be ideal to be fair, get Whelan as far away from the team as possible, rotate Jedinak and Amartey to keep everything fresh. Hope this comes off.

10 Jan 2018 19:39:03
I live as you know in Leicester, and most my friends/ family are crisp fans.
They say the Ulloa deal has been sorted for a long time, since the summer, a loan that becomes permanent if we go up.
They also say that amarty is siht, and would pay us to take him. I’ve never seen the lad. however. they also say this is happening!

Fingers crossed then, from what’s on twitter amartey has been played out of position a lot so has had a few stinkers. Hope the Ulloa deal comes off ASAP.

{Ed001's Note - Leicester usually play Amartey at right back but he is really a central midfielder.}

Like I said, I don’t know much of him. Just repeating what’s been said.
Rb is the last position we need a player for anyway!

We could do with another inforcer in the middle.

The s*n reporting Brighton want to push through a 3mil move for Davis. Has to be rubbish, however if we got a big of 8mil+ I'd take it if it meant we could go and buy someone to replace him.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

10 Jan 2018 09:21:16
How about a deal?
Murray + £5m for Davis?
Murray scores on a regular basis, Davis holds the ball up.
Currently we need goals.
Davis is still raw but we need a finisher.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - there is always interest in players, for instance you are one of a few clubs who are keen on Ryan Kent on loan from Liverpool. I believe one of the issues is the loan of Onomah, which Bruce would like to end this month. Not sure why, has he not done well for you? I haven't had a chance to see much of Villa this season.}

09 Jan 2018 14:18:45
Not done well is an under statement.
I'm sure he must have written in his contract if he fit he plays because no matter how bad he plays he still starts next game.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jan 2018 17:13:46
Think Onomah has had one good game, the rest he looks uninterested and knackered. Probably has been the worst performer this season (from the players who have played) . Everyone was raving about this Ryan Kent before the season, good with both feet apparently and looked brilliant in pre season for Liverpool. Didn’t he end up on loan at Friberg though Ed?

A friend of mine said Steve Bruce has had no money to spend that's why we are stuck which made me laugh. At the start of the season Wyness said that we are going for experienced players which is fine but even Wyness will tell people at the start of the season Bruce had a choice he wanted experienced players rather than money to spend.

So here is how it works John Terry is on big money around 60k a week plus his signing on fee and agent fee that free signing has prob cost the club 10 million overall then we sign Glen Whelan 2 million again a experienced Premier League player on around 40k a week plus agent fee plus signing on them 2 players alone is prob 16 million. FFP also includes wages just because it says free or 2 million you have to include wages and signing on fee and agent fee these players have drop down but are still on good money.

there's nothing wrong with what Bruce has done but people shouldn't say we have had no money because even tho there ageing premier league players they have cost us a fortune that's without going into the rest he signed in the summer. He gambled in doing it this way let's hope it comes off. UTV.

well not really it depends how much Terry and Glenn Whelans signing on fee was and agent fee and there wages point I was trying to make is Bruce has had loads of money and gave it old as beens for wages there not all free and cheap as they make out.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jan 2018 16:03:20
I didn’t even realise Dave, cheers lmao🙈 I’m guessing “your math is awful” would of been correct? And WTW Bruce has had money your right, but the math you backed it up with doesn’t add up, unless your saying between them Terry and Whelan got 9million pound in signing on fees and agents fees. I wouldn’t be entirely sure Terry was on 60k and Whelan definitely isn’t on 40k. But even with them figures you’ve stated and the 2 million we paid for Whelan (which is probably more 1.2) the costing the club 16million is miles off.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Jan 2018 18:14:52
Terrys signing on fee wouldn't be far off about 5 million and his agent would get about 3 million most definitely even the crap players get two million signing on. My friends the wolves gk carl Ikeme and he got 2 million signing on and his no where near the scale of terry. Also football manager researchers who are very rarely wrong have done the wages they know more than us both even sky use there researchers. These players drop down from the Premier League for God's sake there not on peanuts.

Wtw-if you walked into a team left by di matteo, who was the most senior player there? i think brucey tried with what was already there and wasn't convinced, so he brought in senior players for structure and backbone, now lucky is the team whose players all gel at the same time;ours didn't, but there again neither did a lot of other teams, so yes, you could say he's bought in players on big sheckles who maybe don't seem value for money, but the season still has a few twists and turns to go, so lambast him as much as you like, just don't slaughter the boys out there until the season is done, their experience may just be the thing that gets us over the line in the end;and by the way, i still say i'd take John Stead on a short-term contract, he could be our super-sub;chris fairclough style!

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2018 19:10:48
Ed’s don’t suppose you know anything about signing on fees for a free transfer and typical agent fees? To me 5 mil signing on fee and agents getting 3 mil in a deal where there’s no transfer fee sounds like someone living on another planet guessing and guessing badly at that. Also Terry was on 50k a week at Chelsea in his last contract I’m sure of it, so surely dropping down a league he took a pay cut? And Whelan on 40k would be one of our best paid players? I remember Bruce saying last season when Gardner got his new contract that he was on considerably less than everyone else so the new deal put him in the same field as everyone else, so are they all on 40k? Surely we would have just failed ffp no matter how much the parachute payments were.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - every player is different mate. The agent gets a %age of the signing on fee usually when it is a free transfer. Though that can be a lot as the 'free' transfers usually end up costing as much as buying a player. Clubs will usually pay a higher wage to a player signed on a free. I would expect a 5mil signing fee to pay (usually) 20% to the agent, around 1mil. Terry was receiving much more than 50k on his Chelsea deal, over double that IIRC.}

08 Jan 2018 20:03:11
Cheers Ed. So terry would be getting 4million with his agent taking a mil, if his on 50k for the year that’s 2.6mil, Whelan taking 2 mil in transfer and 40k a week that’s 2.08mil. Overall their costing us 11.68mil for the year. So still quite short of the original 16million, WTW your right but Bruce has no excuse on the money front, managers have got teams promoted on much smaller budgets, however your maths is still a 5/ 10 and will be reviewed next term😉😂.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Jan 2018 17:05:15
I’ve been thinking that about FFP, QPR spent whatever they want the year they went up and 2 years later got a tiny fine (I Think) so we might aswell break it by what 4mil to solve fill a position that’s been a problem for years, and with his age, if we tie him down to a lengthy deal we would be sorted for years! And if someone wanted to sign him he’s young English and be worth a shed load.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jan 2018 22:00:34
£4 appears to be the price banded around by the media. Of corse, nobody knows his value, which I guess would be whatever a club is prepared to pay for him. Personally, I would estimate for a player of his potential, and the way he has played this season and most of last, that even £15 million would not be far off. If united have offered him a new contract, I can’t imagine they needed to tempt him by including a £4m release clause. My hope is that he stays at villa this season then signs permanently. My guess, is that he will do exactly that.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 08:21:03
They’ve only got a 1 year extension on his deal, that’s why it’s 4mil, because next season in January he’ll be free to sign terms with anyone and in the summer of 2019 he can leave for free. We seem to be good at targeting deals like this, we paid penny’s (in today’s market) for Hourihane, Lansbury and Bjarnsson, got JT on a free. If we pull this one of either this window or in the summer, for anything less than 7mil then we’ve done excellent again.

According to Tony Xia, Sam Johnstone wants to play for Aston Villa, which is great. Tony Xia said that Johnstone is going nowhere, and that he will be a permanent player for us when we qualify for Premier League this season. The West Bromwich Albion rumour is not true.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Jan 2018 22:19:57
easy answer is go to sam see what he wants to do and if he really only wants to play for villa then he tells utd. they can't make him sign for another team and even if they accept a bid off west brom or whoever he can just say no to contract,

personally i think its all rubbish and just talk to force our hand into a bid.

Ok his not a great manager but boy he has balls of steal I credit him for that. Great wins last 2 games 2nd half of the season is where its won other sides will get tired we have a big squad let's march back to the premiership!

Your understanding ‘flackie’ is once again incorrect. If Man U wish to recall him and sell him they are more than free to do so, even if you object. I can imagine any ‘logic’ to a loan contract which states ‘player may be recalled from loan but then may not be sold during the same season - the clause just does not exist.
