I think the striker we need to get rid of is Kozak as he lacks in pace and finishing and is miles behind the other strikers. Here are my reasons for keeping other strikers:
Kodjia is easily are best goal scorer and is one of the reasons Bruce has done so well
McCormack: It has only been 4 months and he is clearly a very good striker. When he was at Fulham it took him time to get going. All he needs is time and he will start scoring.
Ayew: He can be a really good player as we saw last season and if he starts to pass a bit more he could rip up championship. I remember in the Newcastle earlier In season he really shone and u could see how much quality he has
Gestede: He is clearly a proven championship scorer and can be a good impact sub in a game where all we need to do is hoof ball up pitch as he wins every single header
Gabby: He is definitely the most passionate player we have and loves the villa. He has clearly shown he really wants to work hard and improve his game. I think he has lost 6 kilos since Bruce has come in and I can't see why after all that work he can't have a chance.
I know I haven't put much on this site but would love to start putting more on and wanted to make my opinions on the strikers.

Sorry George but although on paper what you've said Is true but in real life not so much. Gabby the most passionate player? Gustede should win every header but it hasn't worked out that way and his finishing is dreadful, missed a one on one against QPR where he had all the time in the world. Ayew lacks any footballing brain but has the ability. And I don't know how you have come to the conclusion about Kozak, he is slow but when he played what 5 years ago he was clinical!

I like the look of hogan .
For me I would sell all of the following
McCormack - just not cutting it
Gabby - poor player
Kozak- not good enough for last 3 managers
Ayew - great player potentially if passed the ball and didn't sulk worse than Anelka
Gestede - not a bad player just not right for villa unless we change style to put crosses in the box.
So in reality I would sell our entire forward line apart from Kodjia
I would then look at bringing In the following if at all possible
Hepburn Murphy to the 1st team!
Hernandez from Hull
Either Hogan from Brentford or Nakhi Wells from Huddersfield.
Also have a need for a left winger has to be either Robbie Brady or Robert Snodgrass
Back up goalie to Gollini if indeed he stays
Also think we need a championship class midfielder - will Hughes from Derby would be a good shout.

id be happy with that, we have too many strikers and we don't have a lift midfielder, so it makes sense. much rather swap gusted for brady though, or kozak+ cash, mccormack hasn't been given a chance and looks quality.

Agree with indianvilla, Johnstone would only be there to push Gollini for the starting spot, it's a shame he'd Steer got injured because by all accounts he was brilliant for Huddersfield last season and he could of really challenged Gollini and brought the best out the two!
Would love to see jenkinson, proper right back who can defend first and foremost, but can also get forward and put a ball in! Give us a centre back and the defence is looking solid for the rest of the season!

Seems to be quite a few names linked with us and as we approach Xmas the list will get longer.
For me, we need 2 midfielders above anything else. One creative and one to help out Jedinak who was our best player again over the 90 minutes yesterday.
Westwood and Gardener both not good enough.
A win at Norwich and its lift off. And then the list of those wanting to join will be a mile long.

Its ok Chris, McCarthy would be good signing . But at this point I think that the press will throw loads of names about.
I said week's ago that IMO if we could manage to keep in touch with the playoffs then we would be able to attract top players in January. This will be difficult to achieve. We're not playing particularly well and teams will try to park the bus against us.
Luckily, we have a run of games that we should be able to pick up a few wins from. A win at Norwich would be massive result . Massive.

Just finished watching the highlight show, if we are getting jenkinson and Johnstone then happy days but as you said we need two quality midfielders, for the attacking one I would be more than happy with Tom ince (7mil), Daniel Johnson (5mil) or will Hughes (7mil) they are all smashing it at this level and won't need time to settle!

Well super jack certainly lived up to his song today! Brilliant goal! Boring, dreadful game but got the 3 points! Thought kodja was a bit on his heels in the first half, Gardner put through one brilliant ball and Jedinak put through two, both for him to run on to but he wanted it in to feet, shame because if they had been on the same page and he had been running in behind he would have been 1 on 1.
Oh well, on to Norwich. can't see them putting 11 behind the ball so should see a better game. if we want promotion we need to beat teams like there, no draw, a win!

Who would you want Andy? I'd want a right back centre back, a striker on loan and then a big money centre mid who will come in hit the ground running the way kodja has! If we had to pick realistic I'd go for Gunter from reading or Dominic iorfa from wolves. Then Jordan Rhodes for the striker, tom Huddlestone will Hughes or loftus cheek for the mid and can't really think of a centre back but we have got Toner coming back so that may not be crucial!

I've been saying since Ron Atkinson left! that we need 2 TOP QUALITY midfielders. And I've seen nothing so far this season to change my mind.
Westwood has and always will be a 4outof10 player and I'm really sad to say that Gardener is not much better. A RB Trippier perhaps and how about having a go for Benik Afobe, Bakhary Sakho or Hernandez from Hull?
Also I know many will disagree with me, which is fine, but I would speak to Berahino and see if he wants to put himself in the Claret and Blue shop window, ready for when his contract with the Tesco bag snatchers finally runs out in July. Fit, slim and keen he could provide much needed goals and make himself a headline grabber again. If he's not, he can waste away in Oldbury.

I wrote the other day I thought away from home or atleast against the stronger teams Bruce will go for a stronger defensively midfield 3, guess that's why grealish misses out but he should cause havoc against tires legs second half!
Gustede up top I'm guessing to occupy their centre backs as a real handful so I'm very happy with the team! Should be coming away from this with minimum a draw, hopefully Jedinak can handle Wood, as him vs our two 6 foot centre backs won't work! Come on the villa!
