Villa are set to rival spurs for Son Heung-Min, won't come cheap though 10-12m apparently.

Class. Can't see it happening though

Paul lambert to be given a 50 mil war chest this summer to add to the great young lads we have already. 4 players being targeted are j lescot 6mil remy from qpr 8 mil sinclair 7 mil and a shock 18 mil bid for lukaku off chelsea with bent being sold and gabby being used in a wide roll. Lambert sees lukaku benteke remy and wieman shooting us up the league with gabby and sinclair giving pace down the flancks and lescot in there with vlarr. An unnamed dutch u21 left back being looked at as well for compitition for bennet.

Believable9 Unbelievable28

Benteke. Lukaku Weimann. Remy. Gabby and Sinclair?? Are you deluded? Or just crazy! Even if we did had the money to buy lukaku remy an Sinclair, Where on the pitch would we play all of them? LMFAO!

Agree37 Disagree4

Cant see Villa buying 2 strikers to replace 1 outgoing striker and the whole post seems to go against everything Lambert and Lerner are trying to do to be honest I'd Like Lescot Sinclair and a few more lower league or foreign gems like Cresswell and Finnobiggson

Agree14 Disagree9

The post is accurate in 1 respect Lambert has stated the squad needs to get bigger and is apparently going to get the funds to this whether we spend big I can't see happening as Villa still have the highest wage bill in the league after the likes of Man city, Man u, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Totenham

Agree5 Disagree18

Villa will probably sell : Dunne (free agent), Given, Bent, Ireland etc. in the summer if possible.
Then probably some more European gems which will be bargains as Villa continue to cut the wage bill.

Agree23 Disagree2

You don't need more players, it's time you have needed.

Agree6 Disagree5

Need creative players also apparently man city are having a clear out and are looking to sell Milner who could add a bit more experiance and quality

Agree5 Disagree9

Anyone forgot about our rubbish defence?

Agree13 Disagree1

Why do we need more creativity? Havnt we been one of the most creative sides in the prem over the last 2-3 months? I think we have, we've missed loads of great chances, so I reckon that side of things is ok.

First priority over the summer should be signing players with defensive capabilities.
We need a good DM who can impose himself on games an atleast 2 defenders. Then we can look to sign creative players.

>Scg87

Agree16 Disagree0

Milner has probably been Man City's best player this season, he offers undoubted quality, consistency and is one of the few players they have who isn't an ego maniac who in it for himself (Team Player)

Why would they sell him?

>Scg87

Agree14 Disagree1

Why do people always bring up Milner? He will never play for us again he's top 4 material

Agree16 Disagree0

Why do we always hear rumours of prem players coming to villa? PL will look abroad or to the lower leagues again this summer. Westwood, lowton and obviously the beast benteke have become assets. Our transfer policy is better like this as apposed to MONs crazy spending sprees

Agree0 Disagree8

Borussia Dortmund are supposedly keen on Benteke, they've got money to burn after some big sales, would rather him go abroad than seeing him each week in a Spuds shirt, still hopeful we can hold onto him mind. Arsenal and Manchester city are circling too.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Benteke is staying for probably 1 more season as he wants regular football not to be some bench boy! he doesn't want to end up like Lukaku - being passed around!

Agree8 Disagree5

He'll definately stay at least till January as he's going to try and have a buy out clause put in his new contract which we need to avoid

Agree6 Disagree4

£30m wouldn't even be considered.
His agent has said its "99% certain he'll be at Aston Villa come next season"

Agree4 Disagree7

30 Apr 2013 19:06:34
Already the pundits on TV are discussing which "big" club that Benteke will move to next year. Does anything think that he might stay? He seems happy enough playing for the Villa but will one of the vultures might try and take him? Welcome your thoughts?

Believable4 Unbelievable6

I generally don't think hell leave. As u say he seems happy enough and I think the big clubs will wait till next season for him to properly prove himself. For example when papiss cisse joined newcastle he was unstopable but this season he hasn't been prolific at all.

Agree8 Disagree2

I think he will stay because he is happy at villa, he owes Lambert for signing him and relying on him over a top striker (Darren Bent) and I also think this because he will want to prove he is not a one season wonder

Agree8 Disagree3

Just enjoy the moment if he goes he goes, no player ever stays at a club forever. I mean even if he stayed for the rest of his career we would still have to replace him. Whilst he is in a Villa shirt enjoy it, when he goes cheer on the next striker

Agree7 Disagree0

If he goes it will be next January at the soonest let me assure you.

Agree6 Disagree2

Lambert wouldn't ever sell such a prolific striker in a January transfer window unless they had a reliable option to replace him!
Benteke will stay as long as we want him to - he has no release clause right now & he's happy! why can't pundits just comment on how well he plays instead of being like the media & trying to create packs of lies from thin air!

Agree1 Disagree9

The media are only reporting the obvious interest that other clubs are showing in benteke, an don't forget it's benteke and his agent who have spoke constantly about moving clubs, so I'd say they are heavilly contributing to the media talking about a potential move.

Villa linked with

24-year-old Heerenveen (Dutch league) striker Alfred Finnbogason who has 28 goals in 30 games.

And Tom Huddlestone

Also Weinman linked with Sunderaland and Lowton linked with Fulham and Arsenal

Believable18 Unbelievable8

Weimann will stay if we stay in the EPL.
Finnbogason would be a great replacement for Bent!

Agree22 Disagree2

If weimann leaves, which I don't think he will, then he'll leave for a better club than Sunderland.

>Scg87

Agree41 Disagree2

Norwich fan here in peace
Do you think the signing of ricky van
Wolfswinkle to Norwich would tempt weimann to coming to Norwich means there good friends?
And with Norwich having reportedly 20m transfers to spend next season I'm sure they can afford him. What is weimann worth 8m? {Ed002's Note - Why would tehy be good friends? Have they even met?}

Agree2 Disagree22

100% no chance of him going to either sunderland or norwich

Agree25 Disagree1

He won't leave villa for a team in virtually the same position, and when you thing how young he still is, and what he'll become with another year or two playing for villa he'll be pushing into champions league teams!

Agree21 Disagree2

IF Weimann leaves, he'll leave for clubs like Liverpool, Spurs or Everton, teams who are competing for Europe. Going to Sunderland or Norwich wouldn't be a smart career move

Agree24 Disagree1

The phrase Big Fish small pond may come into play.

Agree1 Disagree23

If weimann can perform for villa with our history an all our expectations, then he can play for clubs like everton an spurs no problem, besides he's got the talent

Agree20 Disagree2

Play with RVW or Benteke!
Benteke he'd choose mate!

Agree8 Disagree3

It actually would if weimann leaves for Sunderland
If he goes to a big club he will be on the bench and at Sunderland he won't
Sinclair, javi Garcia, Maicon, downing, phil jones
All these thought they would get straight into the team, they didn't

Agree2 Disagree17

Weimann would be starting for everton an spurs if he was at them clubs.

Jones was in the united team before picking up injuries.
Downing did play for Liverpool but just didn't play well enough to keep his position until recently.
J Garcia is average, was bought to be a squad player.
Maicon over the hill, was bought to be squad player.
Sinclair, just not good enough, was bought to warm the bench.

Agree23 Disagree1

If he doesn't want to be a bench warmer, he won't leave, simple as that! Why on earth would he leave villa and move from the midlands (where he openly said he loves living) to go to rainy sunderland who are in just as much trouble as us, only going backwards, not forwards like villa!

Agree0 Disagree20

I do hope our better players don't leave considering we took the risk on them and virtually made their top flight career

Agree12 Disagree1

23 Apr 2013 09:52:13
Villa linked with Tom Huddlestone

which I for 1 would be happy with as he could take the Petrov role which Delph hasn't fulfilled and we also need a solid centre back and a better rb to replace Bennett

Believable14 Unbelievable7

Bennett Right Back am I missing something?

Dave80

Agree35 Disagree3

Defo not huddlestone we had two rejects from spurs last season (Hutton and jenas) both where awful. Plus bennet is a LB. Would like to see the rumors about us sigining nathan clyne, cahrlie austin and rudolph austin come true

Agree3 Disagree21

Sorry as much potentiol that people say they have we need a whole back line or at least 3 new defenders to go with vlaar

Agree12 Disagree5

Baker is getting better, same with Clark & Lowton, but they need TIME!
but we do need a replacement for Stan & a definite new Left Back!

Agree14 Disagree0

Aaron cresswell from Ipswich?

Agree2 Disagree24

Olsson.

Agree30 Disagree1

Clark isn't getting better! He's getting found out! He's had 30 games of constant football to prove himself this season and other the 1 or 2 he's been awful! Baker is the man at CB for me, as not only is he stronger than clark, better in the air than clark, smarter than clark, and more comfortable on the ball than clark he's also 2 years younger! All we need now is a LB as bennett is absolutely awful a good playmaker, not a defensive mid, westwood will improve there and i'd rather have him than a 35 year old reject that we pay 60/70k a week sit on halfway doing buggar all! And sylla will come good, he'd work well next to westwood because he puts tonnes of pressure on whoever has the ball, whether its the left back on right winger he'll press them! Two wingers are also needed, we want our forwards to be on the end of crosses not the ones crossing them in!

Agree6 Disagree16

Rodolph ain't going anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Clark is a liability. Been saying it all season. Disaster waiting to happen. Think Man. City. My old Mom would have putr the ball in the satnd.

Agree5 Disagree7

Clark is not that bad

Agree12 Disagree1

Judging a player on one season is rediculous, Clark needs stability an time to grow, in time will be a very good prem player, let's not make the mistake of selling players with potential, because it will come back an make us look like fools, like selling Cahill made MON look a fool.

>Scg87

Agree25 Disagree0

I think many forget where clark made his name and started for villa, as a CDM not CB! Gardner will be back and curruthers may push 1st team so that's good potential next year straight away! baker is ok but vlaar needs quality with him he's not a 1 man defence plus is injury prone (this is where baker would be good as a 2nd choice) new LB is needed ASAP and more quality depth in midfield,
Delph Bannan Albrighton Bent Ireland should definitely be outs this season and if we keep all the current strikers we have there's no need for replacements!

Agree0 Disagree13

Sell Delph!? Why? His last 7-8 games he's looking a quality prem player, he's finally growing in stature an playing with confidence an you want to sell him? That's nutttts!
We need to keep these players who have potential an see how they end up, their not on big money so are not taking up the wage bill, we can afford be patient with them

>Scg87

Agree27 Disagree0

True Delph has shown more potential, but is too reckless, if he calmed down a bit I think he would be much better but the amount of un-needed free kicks he gives away are a joke and have cost us at times, much rather play westwood and a big strong Fellani type player

Agree0 Disagree14

Baker is nowhere near ready for PRem football on a regular basis. He is too rash in the challenge (Suarez pen) and always stretchin to make a last gasp clearance. May turn into a top player who puts his head in where it hurts (Teale like) but needs to improve his all round game first. He is woeful on thr ball and still naive. Not quite ready.

Delph has been fantastic over the last few months in alongside Westwood so don't see the reason for wanting to get rid.

Agree10 Disagree0

To a limited comparison Delph reminds me of more than one Leeds players of the past. Billy Bremmner and Norman Hunter. Both went in 110% and expected to win the ball, sometimes a little reckless, sometimes a liability. If he can kerb his desire to win every tackle then he will become a top prem. man. Another player was Dave Mckay. He frightened the crap out of the opposition while Banchflower did the business. Bit like Westwood & Delph.

Paul lambert has reportedly had Yanic Wildschut watched various times.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

He's worse than bowery!

Agree1 Disagree19

Woo!
Bowery ent bad just needs experience and he'll be a regular in the next 2 years

Agree16 Disagree17

Must agree bowery looks like he can be a good player but don't think he's good enough to be a villa player (not sure if that a challenge right now. will be a good championship striker one day. or if we don't sort it soon that might be us

Agree4 Disagree6

Bowery needs to go out on loan!
Drennan & Burke will just leap frog him soon enough!

Rodolfo Zelaya is a name being mentioned by a few apparently 'in the know' plays as a second striker in the Russian league.

Massive game tomorrow. Question, can Delph or Sylla get to grips with Berbatrov? If they don't he could run riot. The win, 3pts, with Sunderland probably losing will be a huge boost. Come on the Holt end, roar them home. Fortress Villa must be the extra man.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Sylla & Vlaar can handle Berba.
Who will handle Weimann, Bowery, Benteke & a finally inform Agbonlahor though!?
Villa 3 Fulham 1

Agree1 Disagree5

Vlaar and baker will handle berba!

Agree0 Disagree4

Delph couldn't even control himself!
Missed a sitter & headed it into his own net! #quality

Agree5 Disagree7

Still gutted about yesterday! We can't seem to get any luck when it comes to our defending. Let's hope we don't get a pasting from united

Agree8 Disagree0

The trolls won't go away, worry about your own team!

Agree4 Disagree0

I do support Villa but Delph did miss a sitter, overall - he didn't play badly just made a few mistakes.
That's the story of Villa's season - gaining experience via mistakes.

Agree3 Disagree0

We will draw

Agree0 Disagree0

After yesterday's results I reckon stoke will go down
And Sunderland will have it in them to win against Everton at home especially Di Canio rallying them on
We will be safe though

Agree1 Disagree0

Weimann and bent heavily linked with Everton, Sunderland and Liverpool

Agree1 Disagree3

Weimann says he wants to stay at Villa Park & how happy he is in Brum.
Blunderland couldn't even touch him!

Agree4 Disagree2

Lets just see if we stay up before we become critics
Weimann will definitely leave If we get relegated same with
Delph
N'zogbia
Bent
Benteke
Lowton

Agree4 Disagree18

Who have we got to play these last few games

Agree1 Disagree0

Sunderland, United, Norwich, Chelski, Wigan, left

Agree0 Disagree0

Tough few games
Man U - on great form
Chelsea - fired up, chasing top 4
Sunderland - looking good under Di Canio
Wigan - we all know what they get like this time of year
Norwich - no real threat

Agree0 Disagree3

Points out of blunderland, norwich, and wigan, and anything else is a bonus

Agree1 Disagree2

We will win Wigan, and Norwich
That's it
Probably keep us up though

Agree0 Disagree4

Blunderland, really coming from you
We have been really unlucky this season with results going right against us and injuries
U lot have just been sh*t throughout

You've only got 2 descent players and they're both going to leave in summer because you are just a terrible team

Agree3 Disagree8

Good point
Go back to your own site

Agree5 Disagree0

Stick to your own page blunder boy

Agree1 Disagree1

Villa are x10 the side that Sunderland are!
Enjoy the Championship boyo!

Agree6 Disagree2

Just because you wish you had some Bentekkers!

Agree4 Disagree2

You beat Toon by chance & fluke.
They would have hammered you apart if Cisse goal wasn't stupidly seen as offside when it was onside by a clear 2 metres!

Agree1 Disagree6

Villa have been playing some of the best football in the prem this year, we just have a crap defence, Scumberland have been Stoke mark2 all season, playing football that makes fans want to commit suicide lol

Agree6 Disagree1

Sunderland have been unlucky this season don't make me laugh two bluenoses in midfield enough said

Agree5 Disagree2

Played lovely footy, only benteke that can kick a ball in a straight line
Lucky to win, not what all the commentators say, not what Newcastle fans say, if you don't believe me go on their site
If a miracle does happen and you stay up, benteke and weimann gone for sure and then you will get no points and get relegated, doubt that though, you'll go down this season
Have fun!

Agree2 Disagree11

Are u trashing our page with none sense to compensate for your excuse of a team going down?

Agree2 Disagree2

Benteke is staying, Weimann is staying, Sunderland have won 1 game - beat Everton today & I will believe you won't go down - If you lose - Go grow some balls & go back to your own page!

Agree1 Disagree1

We won
The reason this started is because one t*** called us blunderland for no reason
U guys used to be cool until one person f***** it all up.

Were blunderland under O'Neill
Now Thunderland under Di Canio!

Murphy and Clayton from Crewe would be nice.

Aston Villa, Newcastle and Tottenham are both interested in meeting Loic Remy's £6million release clause if Queens Park Rangers are relegated to the Championship.

Aston Villa, Stoke, Queens Park Rangers and Hull are all interested in making a contract offer to Phil Neville, 36, who has announced he will leave Everton this summer.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

Remys wages would be worse than bents, we shipping players like given ireland dunne out to boost wages then stick them all on one player

Agree15 Disagree1

I like the idea of Phil Neville being an old head in our midfield

Agree2 Disagree17

P. Nevile? Absolutely not! I'd rather we keep delph an Westwood as our 2 CMs.

Villa looking to poach Lioc Remy from QPR if we survive and there relegated

Believable8 Unbelievable22

Is there any truth in this? I'd love him personally, he's one of the best finishers in the game but would have to learn to play off benteke.

Agree10 Disagree5

Haha very funny I guess villa can afford 100k a week Remy won't care if he is in league 1 for that money. Villa have no chance of getting him. But then again who would have guess Norwich city would get ricky van wolfswinkle. And don't worry I support Cardiff so :p I just hope we make it.

Agree23 Disagree2

Why don't you go back on your own site rather than come on here to take the p---?

Agree15 Disagree3

Who would guess about Benteke being the class player he is!?
Benteke is signing a new deal if we survive this year & Remy could replace Bent, though I hope Remy joins Spurs so they leave Bentekkers alone.

Benteke is set to start talks about a new contract this week that will double his wages to put him on 40k a week, but he'll only put pen to paper if we stay up. Looks like he won't be going anywhere this summer!

Believable11 Unbelievable9

Would be good if this happened but our luck man c or arsenal will offer him 100k then he`ll be off but at least we`ll get about 15 million for him.

Agree6 Disagree5

Benteke is worth more than £15m
More like £25m-30m.
If we offer him a £60k a week wage, 3 or 4 year extension, so he'll have 6 or 7 years remaining.
He wants to play regularly in a growing team, why would he leave if he's played where he wants & is happy?

Agree16 Disagree3

Lets not be fickle Benteke has a 4 year contract with Villa and Villa won't sell him until his contract is on 2 years or less the only way Benteke leaves between this summer or next is if Villa choose to sell him and that will only happen if we get offered in the region of 30m for him

Agree6 Disagree5

If benteke wants to leave then he'll leave, remember how we got benteke?he forced his way to us making threats of going on strike, that's says alot, an I have no doubt he'd do that again

>scg87

Agree31 Disagree3

The club are only telling the fans what they want to hear, behind the scenes is different, they are just trying to keep you happy, He's on his way to Spurs, Bale on his way to Barca,????

Agree1 Disagree6

If benteke moves he won't play half as good, another season of him being a hero, proving he is quality and trying not to suffer from second season syndrome and he'll be off after next season. Also if bale goes to barca he's an person. Why move from a club close to the top of the greatest league in europe in terms of competition, where he's the top dog, to go and be a bench warmer at a team full of players who out class him?

Agree0 Disagree16

You think bale will be on the bench at barca? Why? He's better than sanchez and Pedro, an D. Villa has peaked an probably going down hill now, so Bale would defo be a starter

>scg87

Agree27 Disagree2

How could anyone be blamed for leaving a club to go to barca? Who ever turns barca down would have to be sectioned under the mental health act lol

Agree25 Disagree0

Barca's midfield is the best in the world, where would bale fit in, based on his style of play, fit into that midfield? I'd pick pedro over bale every day of the week. Before sanchez went there he's was just like bale if not better, but now he's basically an outcast! And david villa would always make my team because he's been a world class player for most of his career, not just the last 2 seasons like bale has.

Agree1 Disagree27

If bale is going to spain it will be real madrid, they play with a lot of pace on the break a lot like tottenham. Gareth bale will never be able to play the posession game like barca do, take xavi for example, 100% pass accuracy last night, bale would be lucky to get 75% and that's no where near the standards barca expect

Agree4 Disagree23

You'd play pedro ahead of bale? Shows how much you know lol. Bale if he turned up at barca wouldn't play in midfield, he doesn't play as a midfielder at spurs either, he'd play wide of the front 3 an would defo get ahead of pedro an sanchez, sanchez is talented but he's no bale, bale is a physical speciman, he'd batter every defence in Spain, whether it's for Madrid or Barca, an he'd find it so much easier there than he does here, he'd get more time on the ball an he wouldn't have to deal with the brutal tackles he gets here.

>scg87

Agree28 Disagree1

I know nothing about football yet every comment i've ever posted on this page other than those on this post have all got a lot more agrees than disagrees, hmm. Put it this way, if bale was spanish, would he be playing many games for spain? I doubt it. Would he have played 26 times for the first team and scored 12 goals? Again I doubt it.

Agree2 Disagree26

To the person that talks about xavi with 100% pass accuracy, Westwood managed 97% at QPR with 73 out of 75 successful and even managed over 90% against Man U so if he ca do that in the tough tackling premier league bale should be able to get over 80% at least and comparing bale to xavi is wrong they are completely different players bale to iniesta or pesto is more accurate

Agree20 Disagree0

What i'm saying is bale can't play the game that barcelona do, they all stand 5 yards away from each other and tap the ball into each others feet, all he can do is run at players and hit a mean shot. don't get me wrong he's class, i'd kill to have him at villa cause his ability is unreal, but he just doesn't fit into barcelona's style of play, which is exactly why I think he should go to real madrid. Although nobody would pick him over di maria and ronaldo. I think the problem is people only pay attention to 4/5 players in spain, but the truth is any barcelona starting 11 player would walk into any team is the world where as bale wouldn't. Thing we all have to remember is form is temporary class is permenant, and 3 seasons ago bale was on the verge of being sold to blues for £3m quid.

Agree0 Disagree18

Form is temp an class is perm? Well sanchez is very inconsistent yet you would play him ahead of bale who has been very consistent with his high level performances for the last 2 years. Contridiction or what lol

Agree22 Disagree2

There's a good reason why bale has been talked about as the 3rd best player in the world, I don't remember anyone talking about pedro or sanchez being anywhere near the top 20 players in the world let alone in the top 5 as I think bale is. Barca players have spoke about how good bale is, even L Figo says bale would get in every team in the world.
Can't believe you seem to think pedro an sanchez is better than bale.

>scg87

Agree22 Disagree1

How do you know bale can't play the possession game? The only reason we don't see that side of his game at spurs is cus he has to do it all himself, an He's so good running with the ball he doesn't have to play the passing possession game, I think if he was to go to barca, he'd improve his link up play instantly, an wouldn't feel the need to do all the work himself

Agree19 Disagree1

What posts have you made that so many people have agreed with? I'm interested.

Agree12 Disagree1

Bale, 3rd best in the world? What an absolute joker! He's not even in the top 10, theo walcott has better statstics than him and neither of those are even in contention for epl player of the season. As for the what posts have so many agreed with, quite simply I can not be even slightly bothered to read back and find the hundreds of posts I have made to prove myself to anybody. At the end of the day my opinion is bale is over-rated, and if you were managing barca and signed bale for £50m to play him instead of pedro, i'd ask if I could play you every week.

Agree1 Disagree24

Are you for real!?
Im sure you'll Correct me if I'm wrong to say Bale's stats are better than Walcott stats, better than pedro stats and far better that sanchez' stats! Why's bale over rated? Hasn't he scored 20 goals in 30odd demestic games? An won games all on his own. There ex pro's an current pro's who openly say he's one of the best players in the world, but no, you are saying their all wrong lol.

I reckon your one of those people who only rate players when they play for one of the giants.

An you obviously are bothered about proving yourself cus you brought up all the posts you have made that so many have agreed with you on lmfao

Check up on the stats and I promise you his stats aren't as good as walcotts. Walcott this season has scored 2 less goals than bale has but played a lot les due to injury, his goals per minute is at about 80 odd where as bales is 100 odd. Walcott also has more assists, has created more chances and has also won more free kicks. Check the books if you don't believe me. If he's the 3rd best player in the world then why is there no talk of him getting player of the season? Its all about the likes of suarez and van persie and co. not to mention the xabi alonso's, xavi's and iniesta's that play in spain as well as the likes of neymar, aguero, robben and ribery, el sharaawy, kompany, silva, and also to back up my point where was he in the team of the year if he's supposedly so good. At the end of the day I didn't say he was awful, but in the intrest of football, he should not be going to barcelona! Real madrid, man city, man united maybe. But barcelona, its probably the only team in the world he'd be an outcast but he would be, they have to much class in their starting 11 to drop any of them for a welsh diver who's have a good 2 seasons!

Agree0 Disagree16

P. s. I don't need to lie to you mate, i'm not gaining anything from that, but I also don't have to prove myself to anybody that thinks they know every single aspect of every single footballer ever to grace this planet. Despite stats disproving your point (check the internet not your brain)

Agree0 Disagree12

The talk of player of the season is RVP, suarez an Co? The "Co" is bale lol.
I think you'll find Bale will b the third player in contention for player of the season. RVP has been bang average the last 3 months so I'd say bale has surpassed him in the race for player of the season, only suarez stands in his way as far as I'm concerned

Agree19 Disagree0

Firstly, about Bale not being able to do barcas style, a world class player can adapt to play to different styles
secondly I think Bale should go to Bayern they have done very well this season and have some good young talent, and bale cold replace riberyand or robben who are getting on a bit and are too selfish for guardiolas
finally, with the comment about walcott being better than bale, if you look only at goals and assists yes, but that is not good enough as that depends on the team around them, if you look at the average chances created per minutes, bale doubles walcott this season, and beats him on clear cut chances and goals on top of that bale is very dominant and look at the way he pushes back defenders and opens space for team mates, walcott cannot match that, few players can

Agree20 Disagree0

El shawaary, Robben, Ribery are not as good as bale, shawaary doesn't have the same presence, doesn't dominate an doesn't win games on his own.

Ribery an Robben are talented beyond belief, but are extreamly inconsistent, which is why they won't be remembered as great players, Bale has the ability to win games, an to have an impact when it matters, then bring his consistency in to it an then you really see why he's a top player who I think is better than ribery, robben an yes better than pedro an sanchez

Agree20 Disagree0

First you say Bale has only had 2 good season so he can't be one of the best players in the world, then you say
el shawaary is better than him, even though he's only had one good season
UTTER NONSENSE!

Bale is without a doubt one of thee best attacking players in the world, he'd get in every team out there

Villa looking to sign Raoul Lor and Filip Djuricic to add to the midfield

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Sorry Raoul Loe

Agree5 Disagree5

That second player has signed for Benfica now

Agree5 Disagree4

Quite honestly I can't be bothered to check the internet to compare stats.

I never said bale was the 3rd best player in the world, I said there was talk of him being the 3rd best player in the world by a lot from within the game, (not just me) I actually think Messi Ronaldo an Suarez are top 3, but I wouldn't say there's to many others if any who are better than bale, defo not kompany lol.

An you say Neymar is better than bale? Well he's only playing in a league that most teams would struggle in league 1, so maybe wait until he proves himself at a higher level before saying he's better than a player who's performing at the highest level. You think el sharaawy is better than bale? Sorry but that backs my point up, big club syndrome, an that's simply because he plays for a giant you automatically say he's better, an wasn't part of your argument that bale wasn't one of the best that he has only had 2 "good" seasons? Well
el shawaary has only had one good season, bale is 10 times the player he is, an most of the other players you mentioned havnt been anywhere near the player that bale has been the last 8 months, although aguero an silva are more talented in terms of technical ability I'd still rather have bale in the villa team.

An on Walcott, I'm a big fan of his, but I wouldn't put him anywhere near bale as a player, I'd also point out that stats don't always mean one player is better than another, look at how bale has won games then look at Walcott who doesn't dominate games in anyway.

An on you disproving my point, all you've done is prove my point, by ignoring most of facts I put to you. :)
Since you only mentioned walcotts stats compared to bale I take it sanchez an pedro's stats are pethetic compared to bales, an that was the debate in the first place.

What would people be happy with next year given that we stay up? Ins and outs:

Ins: R. Martin, Raoul Leo, Matt Phillips & Gary Hooper.

Outs: Given, Dunne, Lichaj, Stevens, Hutton, Makoun, Ireland & Bent.

We need to cut loose the deadwood and improve the quality of the squad. The INS would be around £20 million which is our budget, and the outgoings would largely cover it. Would people be happy with those deals?

Line up of:

_____________Guzan
Lowton__R. Martin__Vlaar__Bennett
_______Westwood__R. Leo
Agbonlahor___N'Zogbia____Weimann
____________Benteke

Believable5 Unbelievable22

Sinclair to if we could get him

Agree5 Disagree11

Wouldn't want Sinclair as well as Phillips, waste of money.

Agree11 Disagree3

Baker at cb for me, I think he's absolute quality, bennett looks like the weak link if i'm honest, more of a winger. I'd go after jetro willems for left back as he's still a teenager that plays for the holland national first team! Would come cheap as well.

Agree15 Disagree8

Jetro Willems wouldn't be cheap, he is defensively very poor as we saw at the Euro's. When he does progress and mature I think that a transfer to Manchester United beckons.

Agree2 Disagree10

He's still unproven and you could pick him up for around £5m at the most, but he's definitely got more potential that any young left back I can think of! Give him a year in the prem and a good bit of training and he'll be one of the best left backs in the modern game!

Agree2 Disagree7

If we sign Russell martin I give up lol, I rate lamberts young and hungry policy. Lowton and westwood have been amazing finds, but martin is never going to improve. I honestly think roger johnson is better than martin, and for a villa fan to say that about johnson takes a lot. I hate the count lol, seriously though we need to be looking at players of a higher ability and potential than Russell martin.

Agree15 Disagree2

Ex Bluenose Roger Johnson who got relegated 2 years on the bounce? get out of town

Agree9 Disagree2

Sell Bannan he is the laziest and most selfish player I have ever seen

Agree6 Disagree13

I think Winston Reid is meant to be an option also? Ed do you know anything about this? {Ed001's Note - I am trying to find out, I know Villa were interested in him before he joined West Ham, just not sure if Lambert maintained the interest or not.}

Agree0 Disagree1

You have 8 players leaving an only 4 players coming in? We already have a small squad, I don't think it's a good idea to make it smaller. I'd keep Lichaj and Stevens as a squad players, decent back up if we have injuries in defence.

Ins> Lescott. Martin Olsson.
Rauol Loe. Will Hughes. Dries Mertens.
Outs> Given. Dunne. Warnock. Hutton Ireland. Bent.
I think these signings are realistic, and i'd hope Benteke an Weimann stay.
I'd keep Bent but PL seems to hate him with a passion so he'll leave.

. Guzan
Lowton. Vlaar. Lescott. M Olsson
. Loe
. Westwood. N'Zogbia
Weimann. Gabby
. Benteke

Agree22 Disagree2

I like the look of delph and westwood in midfield partnership, we need to keep the ship tight and add slowly!

main priority experienced defender and left back not to forget we have not had herd, albrighton, gardner virtually all season plus carruthers, grealish, drenan to move up and gain experince, we can not stun our growth?

Agree6 Disagree5

I think Olsson an Loe would be good but Hughes is linked to Man city and Mertens to Liverpool and why buy hi but not have him I the starting line up

Agree4 Disagree7

Will Hughes will want to go to a club where he'll get his fare share of games, if he goes to united or City then he'll be loaned out more than likely or get lost just like sinclair has.

I'd like us to sign Mertens but to start the season i'd stick with Gabby, I think he's earned that, but mertens is a better player than gabby so will take his position at some point

>scg87

Agree17 Disagree1

Ed, you heard any rumours or talk about Lambert seeing PSV
LB Erik Pieters as a potential signing? {Ed001's Note - I was told you were watching Willems from them, but that might have been conjecture and it be Pieters you are actually watching. You have defo had scouts watching their games though, so could well be, there has been interest in a number of their players from England recently. Just off the top of my head Wijnaldum, Pieters, Willems, Engelaar, Mertens, Matavz, Strootman, Toivonen and Lens have all been inquired about in recent years!}

Agree12 Disagree0

Would mertens sign for us? If he would we should defiantly sign him as he has been excellent creatively in everdise this season

Villa now on 33 points and need probably 6 points to be safe out of the 18 points on offer and we have a relistic chance of taking 9-12 points out of our remaining matches
with Sunderland, Norwich and Wigan looking beatable and we have a chance against Fulham

13 Apr 2013 v Fulham (H)
22 Apr 2013 v Manchester United (A)
29 Apr 2013 v Sunderland (H)
4 May 2013 v Norwich (A)
12 May 2013 v Chelsea (H)
19 May 2013 v Wigan (A)

Up the Villa and strenghen the back 4 and add width for next season

Can see us taking points off
fulham
sunderland
norwich
and wigan

Man united fan here just checking up as villa my second team I think Norwich might be a dead weight think villa will lose at Norwich. But really think villa have the better chance over Sunderland. Ideally qpr reading and Sunderland go down :)

Agree2 Disagree2

Looking at fixtures I think chelsea league will be dead and they might have a fa cup and europa league final to play so might rest a few by our games and we could fight a point out it

Diego Godin is a high profile name being linked to an unknown Midlands based team, maybe Villa?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Ed, read in december PL was looking to sign CM/DM Raoul Loe, he looks the ideal, or atleast the type of player that we need an wouldn't cost alot, is he still a possible target for Lambert?
Scg87 {Ed001's Note - Villa have had representatives at a number of Osasuna games this season, Loe was assumed to be the target, but it was not certain he was. I couldn't tell you myself if it is definitely him that you are monitoring, but yes, you are still having Osasuna watched.}

The two Basle playboys Shaler and Stocker for a joint £10m would improve our no end, better than anyone we have and would create chance after chance for our forwards. We just to find a proper anchor man and centre half and next season here we come.

Sorry no more lame English player, the value is overseas

Believable9 Unbelievable15

They do look like good players, but I'm guessing the game against spurs they played in was the only time you've seen them play, so I won't be taking your assessment to a matter of fact.
An if they are that good then I think they'll be costing more than £5m each.
Scg87

Agree17 Disagree2

Were milner young an downing "lame"? Lmfao. Your lame lol

Agree22 Disagree4

Those 2 won't come to villa they play for a team with champs league and europa football and we can offer the fa cup and league cup

Agree2 Disagree6

I have looked into this and the fee would be around the €10m for the pair, and having watched Stocker for a couple of years, he would easily better Albrighton or Holman. We do need to find an anchor player to sit in front of our rather weak back 4.

Next season is about getting a top half finish. Bring in Carruthers, Grealish and Burke at least and Daniel Johnson on form lately could do with hi keeping that p till the start of next season when he will be given a chance.
Would love a win against stoke but I can't see it happening so I think a draw will do.

UTV! SOTC! We are staying up!

Believable3 Unbelievable9

See we won! we are a club with youth and loads of potential come the followin years and we are going to be a huge club! in lerner and lambert I trust!

UP THE VILLA

Agree4 Disagree0

Your saying you want top 10 next season in one sentence, then you say being in Burke. Grealish. Johnson an carruther? There talanted players, but surely you don't expect us to get top 10 with them in the team?

We now need experience to help these young players improve, an more importantly we need experience players to make sure them youngsters are coming in too a winning team an not a struggling team.

Sebastien Corchia, 22, has opened the door for a big-money move into the Premier League after revealing he could leave Sochaux at the end of the season.
Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert Has Admitted he would be intrested in bringing the player to the West Midlands Club.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

So were after another right back for cover or to replace bennett

Youngster Danny Crowley has attracted interest from Arsenal. We currently own the 15 year old who has been likened to Jack Wilshere. He is another promising Englishman who has come through the amazing Aston Villa academy. Would be great if we could keep him though so we wouldn't have to pay for midfielders in the futures.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Why would he leave the academy which is officially the best in Europe now!?

Agree12 Disagree5

Get him in the firsts if he's the real deal

He's 15 mate, carruthers, grealish, drennan etc. firstly into the 1st team next season.

I meant next season. Grealish carruthers etc could do with a loan out to a championship team. Tbf that could be us next year

Grealish is quality & so is carruthers.
they don't need loaning out!
and drennan is as good as bowery if not better
