Not rumours, just what I saw. We need at least 1 striker. With Weihmann out and Delfouneso is far from ready, Gabby constantly injured and Carew being so out of form, we have. . Heskey. Young on the wing! We have a quality squad other than up front with great youngsters as well. Sidwell finally showed up as well.

The cracks are starting to show- -what planet are you on pal? This is a rumour site, not a factual site. They are not cracks they are chasm's. We will have to suffer this crap for another 4 months at least. The attack was limited, the midfield lacked imagination and the defence were absent without leave. What a bloody shambles.

My main problem is how MacDonald didn't understand that there was a need for a sub. Heskey for Gabby in the 86th? Sad. Takes after O'Neill. Ireland, Sidwell, Carew. . All could have been used. Albrighton became ineffective and bringing on Ireland for him and moving Young out wide would have been great. Carew for Albrighton. Sidwell for Reo-Coker.

Another example of the inadequacy of our illustrious Villa. Too many passes going astray in the middle of the park. Insuufficient killer balls, forwards who did nothing, a defence that was exposed on too many occasions.
Why did we not get a pen in the first half when petrov was tripped by Whitehead?
How did the ref. give a freekick for a foul by Petrov on Pennant when it was clear that Pennant cheated?
Altogether a dismal result, we should have had at least 1 point.
These are the players that must keep us going till the new year and hopefully we will not be too far adrift of the mid table teams when the window opens.
Is Agbonlohar a real striker? I don't think so!
In fact apart from Downing there is not a player whose place is safe.
What do you all think?

Come on Villa fans. Let Everton fans believe they're intelligent and great. 2 points. LOL. Right now they'd be relegated. After our game against Stoke we could be in a CL spot.

Why don't you Toffee's stick to your own site I am sitting here watching you getting the better of United, without your old boy Rooney, but very late in the game.
Who said that Lerner approached Moyes?
Only idiots that put 2&2 together and got 22.
I agree, why would Moyes come to Villa Park? He is sitting in a rather comfortable position and one day will move but to a very rich club. If only he could get his teams to start the season better they would finish better. Seeing them just score twice, if they could start games better they would get some really good results.
But please stick to your own back yard.

Now that we have Houllier taking into account his backround at privous we will be buying cheap French ( or of a French speaking nation ) players hoping to find a gem in the rough. Just look at what he did at Liverpool- Cisse , LeTallec , Pongoille , etc etc etc

Summed it up completly pal, you actually admit that you are a piece of s- t! Your version of truth is a pitiful example of a neanderthal brain. Sorry. you don't have a brain. Houllier must be given a chance to show what he can do at VP, and regardless of your belief that he will spend money, we all have to wait and see. I don't know if you are a scouse, a manc, or a member of the darkside of the city, or even a member of the human race, but one thing everyone who reads this site know you are a total waste of space. I remain reasonably polite to you, see if you can be polite to the Villa fans.

I am that small minded miserable little piece of s* *
what do you Villa tit heads expect he will ruin your club the same as he tried at Liverpool, your players have already made it known that they did not want him so expect things to get much worse before they get better, I just hope that Lerner is willing to give him the money that he would not give Oniel while you have Randy in charge you will always be also rans, another Doug. . . sorry the truth hurts does it not.

Dont you sound like a scummy scruff horrible person. .Go and get a life, the manager matter at villa has nothing to do with you. You little commoner.

I agree it would be nice to see more or all the midlands teams in the top half of the prem and i felt very strongly about it untill b'city joined us there some seasons back for the first time.it became clear to me that they worry more about singing s* t on the villa than getting behind there team but as far the other midland founder members are concerned i would very happy to see them there.i am also happy to give houllier a chance but would like to see a young vibrante assisant like zola there to help the players express themselves.

There is obviously a miserable little small minded piece of s- t putting his mean minded comments on OUR site. His latest piece of excrement about the appointment of Houllier is typical of his mentality and low IQ. Keep off the Villa site you plank.

From an LFC fans point of view i think you have got a good manager. If we had appointed Houllier instead of Hodgson i would've been as happy because he's very experienced and not a bad manager at all.

You could have done worse and remember what state our great Club is in.

Good Luck!

9.05pm.
Now it is official, Houllier is the new manager. I wait to see what will happen on the pitch. Also waiting to see if sentiment rules over ambition. Will K. Mcd get the assistant or will Houllier bring in his own man. Again AVFC are making a dogs dinner out of trying to get the best! ! ! K.Mcd did a great job with the reserves but would he be out of his depth in the high reaches of the prem. I for one think he would be. The selection of Houllier is a very interesting selection. Many 'pool fans were glad when he went. He asked for studious football, so I don't think Villa will play kick and rush. What may be a problem is the performance of the French national side in S/Africa. He wasn't directly involved, but a player revolt by the French could be replicated at VP with many players in support of K.Mcd. Players must be loyal to the man in charge, not the man they want. Interesting times to come.

There are still several of us that have been around since AVFC actually acheived anything of credit. We have all suffered over the years and that is the plight of a Villan. The city of Birmingham should have at least 2 prem. teams capable of winning a major trophy, and my wish would be for all the midland clubs dislodging the northern and southern sides from the top of the prem. Unfortunately ALL of the clubs at the top are spending money that is uneconomical to a real business man. B/city had hoped to get Mittal into ownership, but failed.
Midlands football is not an appealing option for an investor or indeed for an oil sheik with no care about money. I believe that in the near future an offer will be made that Lerner will find hard to refuse and then a money no object buyer may provide the funds that are needed to propell AVFC into the top 4 or 6 etc. Until then AVFC will remain in touch but not quite close enough. And the great city of Birmingham will wait for another? ? years.

In response to the guy that implied I was a moron and an idiot who sat at home etc etc. EVERYTHING I stated is true. How do you know that Lerner went for Moyes?
Only conjecture my friend. AVFC need a striker, even you are aware of that, and regardless of what was going on action should have taken place to get a number 9. O'Neil wasted Lerners money and I understand why Lerner has not invested again. AV should be doing better. With respect to yourself, I would like to point out that I am a supporter of nearly 70 years and remember many of the great days of the past. FA cup, League cups, Charity shield, European cup, I was there on the terraces with the faithful. Old 2nd division, 3rd division, I was there. I was at Villa Park one winter day when the pitch was frozen and there were braziers on the terraces to keep the few that attended warm. Been there, done that, but I don't wear the T shirt, I leave that to you youngsters. So don't tell me that I am an idiot or an armchair fan. It is a shame that some people can't show respect to others. My views are supported by many many fans, so please be polite in future.

Again we are being treated to the usual Villa sh.t while we look for a manager with prem. experiance. In reality we are looking for a third rate manager who cannot hold down a role with another prem. club. Curbishley, Southgate et al, are in the frame because no other club wants them. Pardew has experiance, Phil Brown has experiance, but neither have jobs. We could all name prem. managers who are out of work, but I want a manager who is in demand by other clubs. My wish would be Moyes, Bruce, McLeish, Ericsson, Koemans and other managers with some pedigree. Forget McDonald, Curbishley, Southgate etc., we want a real manager. The players are behind McD. WHY? A liked boss is only liked because the workers can get their own way. Lets have a big nasty chap to frighten the lazy s*ds that get paid more per week than most of us can earn in 5 years and more in a year than we will earn in a lifetime. Deadly Doug was always criticised for his managerial selection style and all we have is Deadly MK2! ! I don't think that Lerner has any idea. He might as well give the selection job to an agency that employs work experiance kids to assess applications. You can guess that I feel like we have been crap. d on from a great height and will end up with another has been or never was manager. A manager in place by the time we play Stoke? YEAH! We wanted some new names before the start of the season. YEAH! We got zilch. We got a zilch owner to go with that. Money is needed, players are needed, a manager is needed. Not much else left is there?? ?

Moronic views of a no doubt armchair villa fan that we all hear whine and moan on five live. Randy Lerner has done and is doing a fantastic job at villa and has pumped in more money than the majority of owners in the last few years bar city and spurs. Three top six finishes and a couple of wembley trips not good enough for you? Lerner went for Moyes but you can't force a loyal manager to take a job he doesn't want. Looks like we're getting experience in Houllier who also took 6 trophies to Liverpool. I listen to idiots like you every week, as a villa fan you should count your lucky stars we have an owner like Lerner after all I think there's a fair few English football clubs who would bite our hands to have a football club in the state ours is in you pessimistic bore.

Houllier will be a good appointment for now. the club needs a manager who knows the game and is respected. ok GH is no mourihno but he will ensure the stability for the next couple of years. also his time at liverpool wasnt a total disaster and he did bring through a lot of youth that went on to be top draw players.

It is such a shame that some neanderthal should be so insulting to Houllier. We all wait to see if the rumours are correct and that AVFC will announce Houllier and McD as the new pairing. How did this idiot get passed by the Ed. This is a rumour site, not a site for idiots to slag off clubs and people far better than they are, or ever will be regardless.
ED, please print this comment in both banter and rumour. These people ruin good sites.

We need a proven manager or a good up and comming one. seen as we have gone back to being a mid table no money club thanks to mon it is i guess to be the 2nd choice witch makes it very important that randy gets it right . who else fits the mould better than zola and company.a balance of prem experience, young and somebody players can look up to. we need a manager that gets the team out of this long ball crap no team has got into the chaps league or won the prem playing that way the top four are always good football sides. please post your thoughts.

Ronald Koeman wants the job! He was contacted by Villa last week. I say move fast and install him and put Kev Mac as his assistant, he can learn off Koeman the technical side of the game for a few years until Kevin is ready to take the hot seat.
This would be a brilliant move.
