Back to the Jack-The-Ladette situation, frankly I don't care if Grealish turns up on the pitch completely off his head (see Paul 'God' McGrath for details) as long as he puts in a shift and plays his heart out for the club. The difference is that McGrath always gave 100% in every game for club and country so even when we lost, you felt he had genuinely earned his crust. Same can't be said for this generation of spoilt and decidedly-average brats. I don't feel disrespected as a supporter because he went out on the lash following another spectacular defeat (as opposed to going to Church to seek forgiveness or whatever the other 10 culpable members of the team did instead), I feel disrespected because as a player with the level of talent that significantly helped get us past Liverpool to Wembley, he can no longer be arsed to use that level of talent and commitment towards digging us out of a massive (but not insurmountable) hole.

i know things are poor at the minute and we are looking the relegation rifle down the barrel but we ain't gone till we have the little "r" next to our name on the league table.

its not like we are 10 points adrift its only going to take a couple of games where we win a few and teams around us lose and we are right back on level termss.

yes it looks very tough and we are really struggling at the minute but we need to keep the faith, if we pass on the good feeling at villa park maybe we could be this season great escape artists.

This time I don't only blame the players for the loss but also the manager.

Garde's formation needs to change right now, it's not working. He should have been able to see that by now instead of saying that it was disappointing and the players were unlucky. They weren't unlucky, they didn't play well.
And Garde must stop using Richards as CB when he is naturally a RB. I saw enough mistakes at the Everton match that I didn't expect Garde to repeat again at the Watford match.

If Garde doesn't change the formation, then we will surely be relegated.

We had no luck yesterday, and should, and possibly could of been 3 or 4 up at half time.
First half, Hutton was our best player. Followed by Richards, at centre back.

Yes the own goal was poor, but I don't blame Hutton, he has to make a challenge, the keeper should of cleared it.

We need confidence, and some believe.
Our players sadly are losing, as they are not prem quality.
They are not playing out of position, or any wrong formation, they are just meeting better players. They need unity, luck, and confidence.

I agree with Flackie that by and large, these players aren't good enough
The question is, why are the people who are supposedly responsible for recruitment still at the club?

Goes without saying such a sad state of affairs especially the nature of this season's absolute demise. No flitting in and out of the bottom 3. We are where we are and I for one now expect nothing but the team to fight and Remi stick to some system. Now though what about January?! Do we clear out as many big wage players who will jump ship anyway come May and buy the 'dirty dozen/magnificent 7' who will fight and scrap till May but most importantly will do a job in the battle for promotion 2016/17! At least Gabby can get another season with us as his standard is probably championship level now, "keep the Lion's Flag Flying High"!

Well that's that then 7 points adrift an southampton away an arsenal next what a shame what has happend to our club from the top to the very bottom is rotten! The chairman randy lerner is a disgrace. Boys you no what its like? If you remember mike tyson towards the end of he's career losing to bums an not really wanting to go out an fight anymore its like that. Aston villa used to be the best team in europe an even when that faded brian little big ron john gregory they all had us challenging. Now its such a shame all this started when lerner took over i was shouting at the players today an at everton and it suddenly Dawned on me that they are just a pawn in what is bad at aston villa randy lerner has ruined my club and there's nothink i can do! I even think at the moment if i asked for a cup of tea down at the villa it would be rubbish! So what do we do i go to every game but don't no how much i can take i hate seeing us lose its like we get beat up every game! Some people will still say we can do it but come on you all said we would beat sunderland an watford. 1question you all had banners out for doug ellis well why aren't you doing the same for randy lerner who has recked our club? Somethink needs to be done!

No luck at all today. Batterd them first half then there 1st chance and they get a scrappy goal! Pfffff! I think we do look better since remi took over we just haven't got any luck, nothing seems to go our way. M. Richards solid, ayew looks better every game and adama should be starting every game. Hutton great untill og. I think we should try adama up front or cf see how he does, mad pace and skins players for fun. If i'm honest i think were gone this season after today, can't see randy investing in jan either when he can see what's coming and if there's a gap at the bottom. If we go down he can slash his asking price in half.
Trying to stay positive after a very good first half today.

Why is it when your in our position, Lady Luck just doesn't exist, the rub of the ball is a distant memory . What a way to lose, blatant off side, own goal and Troy Bluenose . Untill we start playing Ayew off somebody, we won't see the best of him . How many times did the ball go across the box, with nobody there . First half, how many crosses went in with nobody attacking them, of tall enough to reach them . let's hope Westwood was watching how you take a corner and freekick . Adama looked the part when he came on, let's hope we see more of him .24games left, let's keep the faith, Villa for ever.

28 Nov 2015 18:38:36
who was offside for the first? ighalo? he was a good 3ft on if not more

but i'm guessing something been sorted about adamas contract if he's finally been alowed a game and yes soon as he come on we looked lot better.

Garde must go for two old fashioned full backs, not wing backs. They have to stay fixed in place with one centre half supported by a defensive half back. They ha ve to stay tight and not be tempted up field.
Then four across the middle and two upfront. It doesn't mater which of the bunch go where but we must remain solid at the back.
Richards and Clark can't work together that is obvious, so Richards Okore Clark should be holding the back.
Goalkeeper could be anyone of the 25 that make up the squad. Even Gabby could get the position.
Let's now face facts. Unless the system changes Garde will be looking for a new job and Lerner will be another few million out of pocket.
While Lerner is the owner our outlook is frightening.

28 Nov 2015 17:37:31
yes because the other teams around us ain't much better than we are, its only going to take a few good results going our way and we are out, but we come back to the same old again. we need a goal scorer and we need to break bank to do it.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Nov 2015 18:05:39
villanick No we are gone mate.
Too many players in two minds when they have the ball, too much passing back and sideways again, and nobody who can make a defence cutting pass, even if that pass was on nobody has the mind to make the run.
Absolutely shocking as a group collectively, they are frightened, nervous, rash in the challenge, and clueless.
I am not going to blame Remi, he has inherited a group of players who are shot of confidence, and will need to spend big in the January.

Theres only newcastle as bad the others are picking up points, sorry as much as i hate saying it i just can't see us surving the time.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Nov 2015 23:24:40
newcastle awful, bournmouth yes got a point today but still awful. sunderland are just as bad yes they won last 2 but still poor and norwich players are hardly greatest. now if we could throw a few good games together and scab a few wins by jan then bring in a couple names i think we could be fine. its going to take a lot of hard work but personally i think we was far better team today then I've seen all season just no end product.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Nov 2015 14:50:44
Do you think that we should go for 3 at the back? Richards, Okore, Clark and put Sanchez just in front, similar to where McGrath used to play. I know he is not that standard but we have no others to fit in there.
The back has to be tightened up to avoid us giving away goals, unfortunately we only have Hutton and possibly a recal from loan of Sisoko or Bennett.
The middle of the park is anyone's guess but I would have Gil wide right, Westwood, and Vertout and Sinclair alongside Ayew or Gestede.
Garde has an enormous task but we have got some quality that has to be blended and that could involve some players missing out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought bout the exact same system today but surely idrissa gueye would get in mid field

Guzan
Hutton

Westwood
Veretout
Ayew

I just want to say well done to our new manager putting jack in the reserves we are in a relegation battle an need everybody fighting not going out getting drunk an partying. I was 1 of the unlucky lot that paid for everton away an the whole day cost me 100 pound an i was hoping the players were as gutted as i was an wanted to fight on an try an survive not go out an get drunk! Also well done to richards for coming out an saying that the players are lazy richards himself noticed we have ran the least in all 4 divisions which only confirmed what i thought they cudnt careless if we go down there not even battling for the cause! I mean do you the fans really think palace norwich bournmouth an sunderland an many other average side like stoke are better than villa because i don't main reason we are down there is not lerner but the players not working hard enough runing the leadt in all four divisions is a awful. We need 10 wins watford has gota be a win lose again or draw an i will say we are defo gone huge huge game saturday!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

25 Nov 2015 15:33:28
Not posted on here for a little while. Nothing to do with the doom and gloom which surrounds our beloved club though. I think Saturdays game is massive, 3 points is a must and despite villa being an awful team there's about 5 other teams in this league who aren't much better so there is a chance of survival.

Reason for the post is because I'm scratching my head as to why we are not building a team around adama Traore. I'd play the kid up front alongside gestede, encouraging him to use the space down the channels. He can score goals and create them too, something we desperately need right now and something grealish and Gil just aren't doing. Anyone care to disagree?

But yes with everything else!

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Nov 2015 18:01:04
Yes, I'd have Traore in the side ahead of Grealish
However, I'd play him out wide right with Gil at no 10 and Sinclair on the wide left
If you are going to play Gestede, we need the ball in the box from the flanks all afternoon.
Gil has the quick feet and quick brain to capitalise on the havoc Gested can cause with the right service.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Nov 2015 08:04:21
i go back to what i said ages ago - Grealish is a lightweight Lee Hendrie, I'm more than happy to be proved wrong, but he seems to be going down the same route on and of the pitch. can't believe he chose england over the republic when he could be going to the euro's this summer instead of waiting for the 12 players in front of him to get injured before he gets a sniff at the three lions shirt.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Nov 2015 09:08:49

I agree with all you said, except this.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2015 17:23:14
I do like gil, he's neat and tidy. But yet to really take a game by the scruff of its neck which most teams have a player who can do that. I find him and grealish frustrating.
Reason for playing adama up top instead of on the wing is because of his defensive frailties. Bought as a winger he could easily make the transition into a supporting striker and having the freedom of the pitch.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2015 17:54:40
I'm confused how people think that having a go at grealish for choosing to want to play for the country he was born in, raised in, and lived his whole life in!
Yes there are many things that he is doing that are stupid, and warrant people riding him for. In my opinion he is a childish spoilt young man. But, being a pro footballer, and wanting to represent his home country is admirable. Believing he is good enough to get in the team is correct, and I hope he pulls it out the bag, as this would only help the villa.
Criticism for this is not fair, positive, or helpful.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2015 19:12:29

If it mattered at that level, you wouldn't be able to swap!

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2015 19:35:13
Flackie, I'm not having a go for anyone being patriotic, my surprise is that a professional footballer is more than likely turning his back on playing international football (and all the bonuses / endorsements etc that go with it) rather than play for a nation that he does have an affinity to.
I would personally rather see him play for Ireland than wait around to get his England chance which is looking remote at best right now.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Nov 2015 20:04:22
But he isn't Irish. I would be eligible to play football for Ireland, but as I was born here, grew up here, I wouldn't even consider playing for them.

Because he had the chance, or played at youth level doesn't mean he should.
Being patriotic to his country of birth as admiral.
I don't agree by the way he should of been able to swap, but when he had the choice/chance or option, he chose the country he was born in.
He has made many bad choices this lad, but this was the correct one, and he still gets pelters for it!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Nov 2015 14:43:23

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Nov 2015 16:27:20
How much do you think we will need to spend in Jan?
Remember that our owner is already £90,000,000 adrift in what he should have invested over the last year's and managers.
Lerner is the culprit, the only person responsible for our position. Had he even given the managers some funds we may not be in the s. t.
He spent a lot on the club but not on the most important area, the team.
All he has thought about is showing off our great stadium so that it can accommodate more seats.
Austin being signed would find us a proven scorer but we need couple of CB.
We need a keeper. We need a pair of full backs. We need almost everything but a new owner would be a great start!

Looks like Garde is showing that he will make the decisions after he has told the recruitment team that he does not want Round in his management group.
It appears that he was being spoken to as a deputy before Garde came in as manager.
I like this action by Garde as it shows that he will not be bullied by recruitment and will make up his own mind.
Beginning to like Gardes style.

Hi guys don't shoot me but I'm a wolves fan and just want to say it's shocking how your club is treating the 12 lads off your ultrs club so badly. all they want do is support the club they love and create an uplifting atmosphere to help inspire fans and the team. the way they've been treated is bad especially as your cheif exec. says, he wants to create an atmosphere like dortmund's "yellow wall".

back off villa let these fans get behind the team, don't punish them. at wolves we have a small ultrs group called, 'wv1 division', who sit in block SL1 off the southbank stand and they have banners and sing nonstop, yet the club and the stewards encourage them because they help build a great atmosphere. only thing they are asked not to do is bring pyro, away games get that honour.

all villa fans should sign petitions and show the club you won't be bullied. anyway guys just wanted to show support for your guys and now you have a quality manager have a good season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Nov 2015 08:18:57

I agree with you, I sit above these guys in the upper, and watch them, they get a rough deal at all home games.

Hi dan a ultras group is a group of fans who support their chosen club by displaying topical banners and non stop singing at games and on occasion use pyro in club colours they really passionate and try create atmosphere to inspire players and fans - 12 guys from your ultras group got banned for 3 games because club say they a disruption and refused sit down which is called supporting the team it's a football game not a library all villa fans must stop club bulling fans sign the partition and back your boys.

I know we need them desperately, but, I'm not expecting any this weekend, so RGs season starts in the next fixture, this weekend is his pre season!!! No pressure, just don't get hammered, and learn quickly.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2015 23:18:21
It strikes me that Managers such as Mourinho and Ferguson before him have always tried to convince their teams that the whole of the football world was against them. This was a deliberate ploy to galvanise the team and give pampered, overpaid sportsmen a cause to fight against. They were both able to turn a manufactured sense of self pity into a fighting spirit
Well, the football world really does seem to be against us. The press are predicting our demise, the pundits are laughing at our predicament and managers and ex-managers are lining up to tell the world what a bad idea Garde is before he has even had his first match
We don't have to manufacture it. Show the team the press headlines, play them a tape of Neville, the scouse idiot and Lampard laughing at us, then throw them some raw meat, light the touch paper and stand back.
Come on Villa. FIGHT!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed003's Note - No the football world isn't against you and if you base your opinions of what the press say the less said the better.}

04 Nov 2015 23:32:04
My point Ed, is that we have more evidence to support such a notion than Chelsea or Man U ever had (I don't believe your average fan is against us. On the contrary, they sort of pity us if anything )
As for the press, I don't trust a word of the front or the back pages
What I'm suggesting is, needs must and we have to galvanise the team somehow
Be it fair means or foul.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - I don't think anyone pities you tbh we just live in this stupid football world where fans think others do.}

Wilkins claimed on TV this morning that over the last couple of years that Lerner had invested a lot of money.
Question, on what?
£5m pa and the money from transferring our best players last season.
Lerner has stated that we are a long way behind. Whose fault is that? £20m pa is needed to stand still, £40m to go forward.
So his £5m is championship levels.
Most of his expenditure is on compensation for sacked managers that he employed!

Take westwood off for ayew? What a joke! Why bring a striker on in place of a midfielder when we haven't been able to get the ball upfront anyway?! What are we playing now. A 4-1-4? Gabbys shocking, no pressuring no movement and just pointing at players trying to get them to do his job!
Guzan is the worst keeper I've ever seen at villa and watching this team has never been more depressing than this. Truly woeful.

He should at least be able to boost the French lads up, he certainly should know how they play and the best way of using them . He has watched them week after week, doing his job as a pundit on French tv.
