Hi I hope some person out there saw prince William the future king of England at villa park and understands the prestige of this! and buy this great club, red bulls would do or anybody with buying power, felt sad he had to watch the poor team we have

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why don't he just put the money in himself. there don't get much richer than his family surely. they would have the money needed down back of sofa

Agree0 Disagree0

Show some respect

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously. A state run club in England haha grow up lads. I like our owner. I like our club. Why does everyone want instant success. I'd rather build a project and aim for what Everton did under a solid manager. Then bring in the flair and the money. Monarchy as owners haha, suppose you wouldn't mind Mussolini as first team coach

Agree0 Disagree0

Man City are owned by a prince and royalty would not count themselves as being state. despite all their wealth being ours, but more pertinently he looked bored as hell, he likes rugby and was told to support Villa by some adviser

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you'll find that this could never happen
It would be impossible for the FA to allow the monarchy, which is funded totally by ALL taxpayers, to use funds that would benefit one set of taxpayers in such a direct and specific way
Hang on a minute. I've just described exactly what is happening with the Olympic stadium and West Ham.

So what if Prince William and Dave Cameron are Villa fans? Only the elite trying to prove duality with the common man, when nothing could be further from the truth. This sort of celebrity culture has no place in football in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone can be a football supporter. It does not matter if they are the future monarch or the road sweeper. We should be delighted that football brings us all together in support of your football club.

Is it me or can no one in the villa side put a half decent cross in. to many times I see crosses fail to even beat the first man. it was only until yesterday when albrighton came on (not his biggest fan) that a half decent cross was put in for benteke to attack. with someone like benteke leading the line isn't it common knowledge to have someone who can put decent balls into the area for him to attack.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Completely agree and that's exactly what I was saying about lowton. he's the only player in the team who can put quality crosses in. Since he's been dropped we have stopped scoring and more importantly so has Big Ben. As I said its no coincidence

Agree0 Disagree0

We play with a target man who's arguably one of the best headers in the league and not one player gives him anything in terms of balls in the area to feed off, I would like to see low ton bought back in an bacuna pushed up to right wing

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Nov 2013 17:04:18
I said it against the baggies and i'll say it again we are a piss poor side who now can't beat a side we thrashed last time round. hit and hope is all we can do now

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree villajk

Agree0 Disagree0

To me benteke looks as though he doesn't want to be there. no effort no movement I think he will look to go in january

Agree0 Disagree0

As soon as he scores one he'll be back. he's just low on confidence and he is quality

Agree0 Disagree0

I was at the game at its the first time I've ever been to villa park. personally I thought we played ok just no end product

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the next transfer window is a really important one for us
Lerner must be wondering whether he can afford to risk us sailing as close to the wind this season as we did last
We have to buy a couple of proven quality, no gamble involved, creative midfield players (one central and one wide)
That would have the effect of securing us in the division and answering the question as to how good or bad a manager Lambert is (i. e is he currently hamstrung by the tools he has to work with?)
Do I think it will happen? In honesty, NO
Lerner has fell out with love with us

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Mendax, We are just a plaything to Lerner. He expected silverware and all he got was a few rusty nails.
I think if a buyer came in with a reasonable lump of cash Lerner would be out of the door.
What did he pay? Was it £65m? Whatever it would take £100m+ to tempt him.
What do others think, more or less?

What a poor f**king side we have become, 2-0 down after 15 minutes, shane long certainly showed us how too finish. this defence made him look world class. what a f**king joke. lambert looked lost as to what to do, poor old benteke every time he got the ball they just crowded him out. clarke certainly knows his tactics better than this clown we have in charge. randy I would suggest you get rid now before we start the december campaign.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A game lasts longer then 15 mins mate get behind the team don't slate them.

VillaMatt92

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't matter how long the game is it still doesn, t take away the fact we are a poor side, open your eyes this bloke will not take us anywhere, but yeh! if your happy with it what can I say

Agree0 Disagree0

A triple substitution was a bold decision. good management I say. Finch

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree we are poor, the two that scored would find it hard to play in the 1st division and PL has then as 1st choice in our midfield, wba passed us off the pitch if I was Benteke I would leave. Fed up with this old fashion longball style, we are going backwards

Agree0 Disagree0

A poor player cost us the first (Nathan Baker) and stupidity cost us the second. I can't see how we were long all until we needed to be. And let's be honest if we had gabby, Weiman and delph on from the start I think we would have won that. And I know Lawton had a poor defensive start but its funny that since he's been dropped we've stopped scoring, especially Big Ben. It's not a coincidence. he's delivery is so so much better than bacuna (who should be in midfield). And finally to start Clark at left back is a complete joke!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you lot need to realised we are not a top 6 side anymore and are playing youth players to grow into the clubs ethos as a carbon copy of what the Dortmund side have done. Admittedly one or two players are needed most notable in the middle of the pitch.

Instead of out an out criticism why not try being a bit more constructive with it instead of being a bonehead who thinks we should win every week and be in the champions league.

memories have seemed to disappeared. we'r a much better side this season that's clear for all to see.

Finch

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you Finch, when you say that we can do without the boneheads with unrealistic expectations. But, you then go and compare us, loosely, with Dortmund?
I think we as Villa fans have to admit that we are ALL a little prone to delusions of grandeur and victims of the inevitable disappointment that comes with that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Finch you have lost it! what youth players are we playing? these are 24yr olds and should be at the top of their game, I for one wish some of the youth were playing all I would like to see is entertaining football like Arsenal, not a bonehead villajk

Agree0 Disagree0

A direct comparison with dortmund in terms of quality certainly not! If you know the story of dortmunds success and how it was built it consisted of a young nucleus of players that were kept together over a sustained period of time. I believe that Lamberts plan is to emulate this mould and shaping the club this way for the future.
I hope that clears that one up!

As for the brand of entertaining football (villajk) i'd totally agree with that. Last season the final 3rd of the season we were an entertaining team scoring goals for fun, I felt that was the best starting XI we were playing with. I don't think lambert knows his best XI this season yet and that would also differ from villa fan to villa fan too. i'd like to know yours!
It would be great to see us sign marque type players but i'm just realistic in knowing that's just not going to happen.

Finch

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the theory on Dortmund but it's not quite that simple is it
The truth of it is that Klopp (doubt I spelt it right) seems to be an outstanding coach with a real eye for a player
Lambert may like the Dortmund model (and who wouldn't) but I just don't think he has the midas touch that his German counterpart does in terms of spotting a player or coaching a team
If only he did

Agree0 Disagree0

Guzan
lowton vlaar clarke luna
baccuna westwood delph
weiman benteke agbonlah

Agree0 Disagree0

First lads, I flew over from Ireland to watch the game after 15mins I felt I sould have just put a lighter to my £600 that it cost to go over and watch the game very poor first have we look nervous and very like the team of much of last season, 2nd we came out and played the 3 lads come on and gave the players a lift and the great away fans started to believe the bromy fans and players got afraid the couldn't handle the power and pace of the lads up top, craft and workrate of the middle we finished with your strongest team on the pitch and we look like the team that played at tail end of last season i'm delighted I spent that money going to the game looking forward to the weekend Irishvillian

Agree0 Disagree0

So that's it then everyones happy with being an average middle of the table team just making up the numbers. So let's just leave the honours and titles to the top six.

Agree0 Disagree0

What I find frustrating is that I don't see that we have a style or defined pattern of play
West Brom passed the ball better than us, which I find shocking
We had 2 6 foot plus strikers yet play without width
The plan seems to be "keep running around lads and see what happens"
We have no identity as a team
To cap it all, the the fans have talked themselves in to accepting the new paradigm of Villa mediocrity, with very little effort other from the club other than Lambert coming out with a few soundbites about how he knew what he was getting in to and dressing it up as some form of crusade
Before I get pelted. Yes, I know we have to face up to the financial realties and yes, I realise that there are clubs in a much worse state than we are
What I can never do is be content about it or convince myself it's all part of some master plan that will eventually lead to some kind of renaissance.
Apologies for whining

Agree0 Disagree0

We haven't become a poor side we were a poor side, but we have improved the best away record in the league, We need to up our transfer budget a small bit, we have a pretty good spine going trough our team still with zog to come back in and maybe 2 wing backs and a right sided midfielder would be nice, we tried to compete with the top 6 and failed with mon But I think if lambert had have that chance it would have been all different, so for the next few seasons all we can do is look up the league and admire but we will get back to where we belong We All Need To Keep The Faith

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a midfield and we won't get that on a small budget, as for nog what has he done for villa, THIS IS ASTON VILLA if Lerner will not spend he should sell, passed off the field by wba is a joke, PL keeps praising kea, Westwood they are no good fed up

Agree0 Disagree0

We lack the keystone, the hub, the playmaker.
One good signing could bring all the individuals into a working unit. As they showed on Monday night, when the chips are down some of them rise up and do the business.
Yes Villa are an average prem. side that do run around aimlessly at times but then without warning they turn on the style.
Every supporter knows that the back line is ineffectual, the local park team could walk through them, but Lambert has very few options. Personally I believe that Clark is in need of lesson in defending. Guzan tried on Monday to tell him what he should be doing but he continually marks the space.
The space has never scored, only the player.
I am a Gareth Barry fan and he should have been back at VP before the start of the season. We need someone like him.
Who holds the ball up?
Who links the back to the front?
Who is able to change the shape of play?
The answer is no one.
Some may scoff at one player could change our season, but ask Spuds, losing one player and they are now an average side just like Villa.
Lerner must fund Lambert to bring in that elusive midfield maestro in January or we will still be in the brown stuff come May.
C'mon Randy, get on the programme, give us what we want and you will get what you want. If you are unable to do this then go away and let someone else into your own hot spot.

Big Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

Big Mac if you think one player will change villa dream on, there only 1 player spuds would have from us, no one else would make there bench if there average what does that make us villajk

Agree0 Disagree0

I do believe he tryed to sort the defense out with okore and unfortunately he's out long term but he has still sorted it out even though we have got poor players. The main difference is Ron Vlaar stepping up. And for all the downers- why don't you start getting behind the team instead of complaining about every move he does. You have complained about us not being good enough against man city, even though we won! And some people were even complaining about playing benteke saying helenius is better! Just start getting behind the team because it is obvious to anyone who has eyes how much stronger the club has got on the pitch and financially since lambert has been in charge

Agree0 Disagree0

I respect everyones opinion but could we please call a halt to the "just get behind the team" comments to anyone who utters any kind of disapproval
I think I speak for a fair few of us when I say, I fully get behind the team on matchday, when it's needed.
Away from the pitch, it is perfectly reasonable to express concerns and/or doubts about management and strategy
It doesn't make you less of a fan

Agree0 Disagree0

I am now convinced PL has lost it he now claims Westwood should play for England as he is the next Paul Scholes (mental)

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't get the hole thing about PL its like we are waiting for to make a mistake, I say if we had of lost on Monday some people would have been calling for his head, 15 months in and I think he has done a great job, stabled the books got rid of the bench warmers by far a younger squad that is learning and improveing everyday, okay we are not world beaters but we are holding our own this season no team looks like they are going to give use a trashing we are always in the game now even when we are two goals down, so I for one will give PL a chance, Was the man not right about bent he can't even get inti a very poor Fulham team because of his poor rate

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I should take over our mighty team. Hat you think mendax. i'd get the big names in lol!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi villajk, one player made spuds, Bale, and without him they are in a similar situation to Villa. So why could one player not improve the overall situation at VP.
I remember Danny Blanchflower going to spuds from Villa and he transformed Spuds.
Yes there are other players that need to be in the team but perhaps PL has got the players that just need the extra man.
Dont doubt the team, look for the bright spots. The players may not be world class but they need a leader on the pitch to form a cohesive unit. Currently there is no one at VP to be a real captain.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're trying to make me have nightmares aren't you Kingvilla?

Agree0 Disagree0

I really love your optimism Irishvillain. Honestly I do. I think the problem at the moment for a lot of us is the lowering of expectations at Vila Park
If the fans start accepting lower standards you can be sure that the boardroom will
As fans, it is almost a duty to put pressure on Randy by letting him know, we expect better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert started from getting high earners out and bringing in fresh blood that started to gel in jan. once again he added more fresh blood in the summer making the squad stronger in numbers but will take to jan and summer to gel. are we better then last season imo yes! come summer again I think more high earners will leave and the ones that have not made the grade from his first summer spending and more numbers will come in, this is the only sensible way forward as once we have our full squad with time we will achieving again! we will suffer till then but now we have a spine guzan
vlaar delph benteke!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bill Brown, Ron Henry, Les Allen, Dave Mackay, Terry Dyson, Peter Baker, Maurice Norman, John White, Cliff Jones,

Bobby Smith. spurs team. I think all internationals, one player did not make this team after watching to day we are the most boring home team in the prem please do not quote our internationals it would be a insult villajk

Agree0 Disagree0

Really interesting topic, I do think one player in the middle of the pitch could make all the difference.
Kiyotake would of done this if uncle randy put his hand in his pocket. Finch

Watched the England game last night and thought I was watching Villa.
Is there an English defender anywhere that can challenge an opponent in the box?
Smalling left his man to score, might as well have given him an invitation.
It seems that most English teams are happy to mark a space as opposed to a man.
Real man marking is essential as we know from last season, if you don't then they score.
Simple

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Was there also, real shame Delph has not been given a chance, would pick him over Cleverley everytime.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get real Delph looks good at villa only because our midfield is so poor a fit Gardner would be a better player

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate, are you joking or being serious. A fit Gardner ahead of delph? How many times have you watched Gardner play to think that. That's just a ridiculos comment.

Agree0 Disagree0

A FIT Gardner would be better than delph

Agree0 Disagree0

Wowwww, u really think that don't you? Unbelieveable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes because its true

Agree0 Disagree0

He (gardner) has barely kicked a ball for the first XI so I don't know how you can draw this conclusion. Also they are very different players!

Finch

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes they are different players but Delph has only looked good this year after all the chances he has had and yes he has been injured sometimes but Gardner has suffered so much, ask a couple of international players ie Jack Wilshere has said Gardner is better than him he should know he has played in the same team a fit Gardner would be better than Deph

Following rumours of Red Bull showing interest in our AVFC I listened to some supporters talking about the story while I was at lunch down the Toby.
The talk seemed to be about the other clubs that Red Bull have interest in and it appears that they all play in red & white stripes and further the name would change to Aston Villa Red Bulls.
I am not sure whether I want to believe these stories but does anyone have any info. on what seems to be a growing story? {Ed001's Note - they did look into the idea of buying a Prem team, the two teams they were considering, after their research, were Everton and West Ham. I don't know why the talk of Villa at all, as they were ruled out as a possibility. Red and white stripes is total nonsense too.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thank you for your note.
I think that we have all seen rumours of Everton & Hammers & Villa but you have identified just the two clubs. don't know if that is good or bad. {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, Villa are not under consideration at all.}

Villa should throw their hat in the ring for Ryan Gauld at 5 mill for a starlet described as mini messi that's a bargain. He would be in our first team almost instantly. He would be the creative spark we are missing.

Need to start scoring goals again. Happy with the clean sheets of late but we need to score. Against Everton Benteke should of scored the penalty and he should have scored aginst West Ham with the header. But like we were accused last year, we can't just rely on Benteke. Personally I think Delph and Sylla should be first choices in the midfield with Bacuna. I hope the problems are solved so we can achieve the mid table finish we all want.

The team should be:
Guzan
Lowton Vlaar Baker Luna
Bacuna Delph Sylla
Weimann Gabby
Benteke

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Intresting. ain't luna delph and weimann all injuried

Agree0 Disagree0

PL you are a coward you bring bowery on, give the younger players a chance bowery would not play in the 1st division lucky win and pleased with 3pt

Agree0 Disagree0

Strong accusation! Where has the respect gone? Only comment on what you would say to PL's face.

Agree0 Disagree0

The youth kids are to far away from the first team, pl is doing well with what he is doing!

Agree0 Disagree0

PL has stated no class buys just cheap imports, dose this fill you with confidence there were a couple of young players on the bench sat he should have used then, I think most would agree Bowery will not make it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am full of confidence about pl and avfc future!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the love for Lambert is bordering on some bizarre religion, where any hint at criticism is met with with a hysterical defence of the man and a ridiculous optimism with regard to our future as a club
Personally, I find it almost impossible to judge Lambert's abilities under the current regime
A bright future to me would be pushing relentlessly toward a top 4 place over the next few years
That said, I would probably settle for an entertaining brand of football and for Villa Park to establish itself as a fortress that other team feared or at least worried about.
We seem a long way off both at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

Perfectly put, Mendax.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think in most cases it is a hysterical defence of Lambert but more of what else do you expect him to do with what his got. An over the top analogy would be give one man a Ferrari and another a Fiesta and ask who would win in a straight line. Unfortunately for us Villa fans we have the Fiesta at the moment. Today football is run like a business now and the owners (unless they are multi multi billionaires) can't keep on and don't want to just put in large amounts of cash just to please the fans. It is not what us fans want but I personally would rather support a Premier League Aston Villa sustain ourselves and stand on our own feet than see what has happened to teams like Portsmouth, Coventry, Glasgow Rangers…. Yeah it is a bit crxp at times but occasionally the Ferrari man misses a gear and if Mr Learner is feeling generous we might get a Focus lol. The only way for the extra cash for new players is if we keep on buying the replica shirts, season tickets… Unless you have a spare few hundred million to pump in and have the Villa go your direction, its put up or shut up as we are only the lowly supporters and have no say. All we can do is support the team and not get on their backs especially at home, I heard the boo boys at halftime vs Cardiff. Yeah the display wasn’t great but booing is not what the team needs and that’s one of why we have problems at home (not all the problems). When away the fans get behind the team more rather than on their backs so is this coincidence we do better away? (OK this is not all to do with the teams performance) This is where the Villa are at the moment so if you want glory week in week out go elsewhere!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, well put Mendax villajk

Agree0 Disagree0

As I said, "I find it almost impossible to judge Lambert's abilities under the current regime"
I was with you on many points there mate. Until you said "if you want glory week in week out, go elsewhere"
I don't want to go "elsewhere" and my comment does not warrant that kind of response
Like I say, a word against Lambert, or even the hint of it, does seem to illicit hysterical responses

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we will win as many away games, teams know our game plan. So good home form is needed, but will do not have the ability to create, as for booing you pay your money. I think all the fans want to see entertaining football not the long ball game villajk

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe lambert doing a decent job at the moment, and ye you pay your money but why put the teams confidence down before they've even done there job? If your going to boo, boo at the end. I also believe that when/if benteke hits his form again we will continue to climb the table because when he is on form I think he's the best striker in the prem

Agree0 Disagree0

Van Persie, Suarez, Agura?

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember this isn't from a neutral point of view but I think when he is on form he is as good as them and until he got injured he had scored the 3rd most goals in 2013 in Europe behind the obvious 2

Agree0 Disagree0

Southampton's Fiesta is keeping up with the big boys Ferrari's!

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Nov 2013 18:01:29
One word dismal, lambert you an't got a blinking clue.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree, we are a poor side and boring, long ball, who would have thought big Sam would play better football?villajk

Agree0 Disagree0

For me the problem lies within the midfield, it (the ball) just goes sideways and backwards. I really hope this is addressed in January.

And for gods sake Lambert its time to drop weiman now!

Finch

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't like Weimar normally but its a bit harsh to say that after this game when he was our most dangerous player until he got injured

Agree0 Disagree0

Weimann may be out of form but who else is there? Kocak, Helenius etc etc.
We lack imagination behind the forward line, we lack inspiration, we lack the will, we lack a captain. Vlarr is not a captain figure, it is more than calling heads or tails. He needs to motivate the team by action and by words and by example and if he can't do this then who can? There is no one in the club that can actually stand up as a captain so there is no one to lead the team. Lerner must open the cheque book and let Lambert buy a couple of older guys that know what is going on. He will have to be prepared to give a big pay packet to get a big player or players.

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is Benteke, he has got to big for his boots New contract higher pay stuff you, Bet he goes in January Contracts mean sod all

Agree0 Disagree0
