What do V[lla fans think our chances are of staying up ? Harry will do well at QPR Sunderland have a very good manager and will get better, Southampton look in form, Wigan play nice football and Norwich are on a good run. No easy games so any team in bottom half could still be in trouble come May. We may need Lambert's luck to hold.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

I can see Lambert's plans villa are starting to play good football again and once were more solid defensively and good creative wide man or 2 we'll be flying again

Agree4 Disagree1

Hes a very grounded manager and know what he is doing with what he has at his disposal, he knows his job !

Agree2 Disagree1

The Lambert luck held again V QPR should have lost this one only the keeper saved us from a hiding, all one way 2nd half.

Agree2 Disagree2

I think we will be running it close but will improve. Just enough to finish above 4 or 5 teams.

QPR - I should hope definately or we a doomed.

Reading - Dont seem to have enough

Saints - I think will have a real dip at some point

Norwich - A couple of injuries and they could have a relegation run of results

Wigan - I dont see why not anyway.

Sunderland - If they keep sinking and confidence slumps even lower they could find it very difficult to recover and possibly even, be relegated

Other than these teams, unless a team has a real nightmare, we wont finish above anyone else!
Should be enough to stay up, but im keeping everything crossed.

Agree1 Disagree1

Only the keeper saved us, is he not the goalkeeper that lambert re signed and made our number one? You also did not watch the game and are giving an opinion based on what? person fairweather fan

Agree0 Disagree1

Standing in the cold and rain I was where were you, glad we got a point but face it we were very lucky, you stay in your nice warm room and watch telly,

Agree0 Disagree1

Thank god for Guzan otherwise we may have been bottom of the table. Lambert may not be getting the results but what a great re-signing he made. I still think we will be safe, but lets be honest it's a shame a club this size has to settle for safe. we should be challenging for silverware.

Agree7 Disagree1

Can Villa rely on Guzan week after week ? I think not we need more effort from the rest of the team, must spend big in Jan, or it's doom and gloom for us.

Agree6 Disagree1

Why do you say a club this size ? Villa are not a big club just a bottom half average club who are lucky to still be in the prem, and may not be come May. you can not live on past glory, Spend some cash and you may have a chance.

Agree6 Disagree4

Villa should have gone down last season, and are only in the premier league by defult the 3 to go down will be VILLA
SOUTHAMPTON READING Lambert was lucky for the past 3 years, now its going to be religation on his CV

Agree5 Disagree4

Only if he stays till the end of the season, he may jump ship when things get bad. his record of loyalty is not good. he can not always be lucky Lambert.

Agree6 Disagree2

Lambert mentor was martin Oneill and just look were he is now

Agree5 Disagree1

Lambert, left Norwich because he thought he had done all he could and thought they would struggle to stay up, with or without him, but seems he was wrong, Norwich are doing better without him and at this point looking more likely to reach the top half of the table.

The baggies have a good start to a season and there now getting carried away. Im sure it wont be long until your back down the bottom again. Fancy a bent start tonight anyone else agree?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Bent Won't start. and Reading to win 4-1
Villa will be down by Feb

Agree0 Disagree5

Bent as been put up for transfer in Jan, West Brom are said to be top of list to get him

Agree0 Disagree3

This is obvs a baggie having a punt at us for a laugh.... go back to your own page.

As for 4-1 to reading thats a jk I wentto the game they were awful. Better divers then footballers.

Agree1 Disagree1

Lucky Lambert again !!!! it wont last you can rely on luck to stay up, Villa still a poor side. Come on you blues. play us next season.

Agree1 Disagree2

Baggies only flying cause of Lukaku what happens when he goes back in jan?

Agree3 Disagree2

I was wondering if anyone had information on Darren Bent?
{Ed007's Note - This is a football forum for discussing football. If you want to gossip about player's private lives ask to borrow your wife's magazines.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly believe the baggies will be in the championship next season, i say this as somone who watches a lot of football. Villa and QPR will be safe if only just

Haha Villa are in the relegation spots Huh?

Serves you right for the way You treated Mcleish

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Go away Alex mate!

Agree6 Disagree1

Lambert was very lucky at Norwich ! has his luck ran out ? I think so, dont hold your breath waiting for our next win it may not come for some time yet.

Agree12 Disagree6

Lambert for Qpr

Agree0 Disagree4

New worry now QPR likely to climb up under Harry, even harder to avoid the drop for us. wish we had a new manager with some history of success. not lucky Lambert whos luck has run out

Agree6 Disagree6

Villa are 4th from bottom, West Brom are 4th from top.......Who's the BIGGEST club in the Midlands then?

Agree2 Disagree3

Depends on how you measure BIGGEST. A yoyo prem league championship club or one that has been in it from the start?

Agree6 Disagree5

But can you stay in it ? past glory mean nothing, for the last two seasons you should have gone down, just a bunch of cling-ons. where are you in the league now ? where you deserve to be.

Agree7 Disagree4

Dont tell us your doing well top 4 and your there no1 fan you were more than likely a wolves fan till they dropped

Agree4 Disagree3

Can't for the life of me see how Lambert is going to re create at Villa what he did at Norwich, Can't see Villa finding a way out of Trouble, The Bottom 3 are now starting to lose a bit of ground on the rest and Villa have a hard few games coming up,

Agree6 Disagree2

Losing a bit of ground? were 3 points from 10th!

Agree1 Disagree2

Now seven points from 10th, losing more ground, villa are at their level, accept it

was well impressed by aston villa perfomanceagainst man city hope to see many more liked them

Believable4 Unbelievable5

So do I then down they go. LOL

Agree10 Disagree5

In the past Lambert has been able to work with honest players at decent clubs. Now he is at a club that is rotten to the core with fans who think they have a divine right to succeed. Wake up and welcome to the real world. One Chrissy Hughton!

Agree14 Disagree6

Villa back in the bottom three where they belong. 10 points from 13 matches, not very good is it? Lambert is a good manager when at a good club as he has proved at Norwich, but he's cant perform miracles and that what Villa need.....great to see though.

Agree1 Disagree2

The straw chewers have there own page dont they? The season is very long as i am sure you will learn now you no longer have the quality of lambert in charge of you

Agree2 Disagree2

Yes there is a page for city fans, but you'll try to steal it like you did with Lambert, but you can keep him now, he's doing a great job. Yes the season is long, it's going be even longer for you struggling in the bottom three. At least you've found your level now.

After the game at the Etihad. It was a million miles from the Man Utd game.
It just shows we can NOT rely on just kids , we need more in the centre of midfield & 2 decent wingers to give Benteke & Bent some goals!

LambertMyLord

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Just like Aston vanilla ice cream you start off solid, but cant stand thr heat so you melt away, poor show. by the way how did Norwich get on V Man-u ?

Agree19 Disagree2

Seems Villa fans have lost their tongues ! the players have lost their way and their hearts and fight, Man up wimps, show some guts in the next game or down we go.

Agree17 Disagree1

Another Canary sitting on our perch. Why do you have so much interest in Villa, is it because you just might be a tad envious? Why do you think that Lambert will not do with Villa what he did at Marrow rd? At your tip of a ground united thought that they were on a park pitch and hardly even turned up as a result they lost. Well done! A week earlier they played as champions do, in a major stadium, and came back from 2 goals.

Agree3 Disagree12

Oh well done that was a typical and stupid reply, I didn't put the OP but its clear you are putting a brave face on it, Have the sence to study your next 6 fixture's,
Where can you see your points coming from? Lambert worked Wonders here, for which we are all grateful for, the Difference is the players he brought in were from low league clubs with a point to prove, they ran through walls for him

And at Villa, Your squad are from The Prem and International level, getting paid thousands even to sit on the bench
with nothing to at all to prove and no motovation, Arsenal fans said If they had JVP we would not have Beat them,

He was on the park for Man Utd and we them along with the rest of the Megga rich players, we are now unbeaten in 6 matches and conceced 1 goal .

I'm not sayine it will always be like that we are aware we won't win every match but compared to the both of us we are doing better at this point in time and Honestly believe we have the better manager now,

I have to question the players he has brought in, not his usual type of player, Is he been told by Messers Faulkner and Lerner who they want?

Agree12 Disagree1

Lets see if your 'team' of under performers can beat Arsenal like City did three weeks ago.

Agree11 Disagree0

Worry is after Arsenal, Reading who are now hitting a bit of form not going to roll over easy, Outlook very gloomy, Where are the next points coming from ? Change manager I say.

Agree3 Disagree2

I think Lambert had three very lucky years at Norwich, lots of last min goals etc he knew he could not keep it up so he jumped ship to save face, because if Villa fail he can blame the players or lack of money. loved by the fans at Norwich but not by the board ( self opionated and headstrong ) this will be an interesting season.

Agree8 Disagree0

How come Lambert was a great manager at Norwich and now he isn't? Sour grapes is all it is. AV are on a totally different prospect to a small club that has no premier league pedigree. Norwich are like a Swindon, Crystal Palace or the like, they will be in the top division for between 1-3 years and then go back down. Norwich are a big Championship club but are a very small Premier league club. I would even say Wolves have a better pedigree than Norwich have, or will ever have.

Agree1 Disagree2

My god dont some of you Villa fans live in the past, never a big club or top five and now you are where you deserve to be bottom three, its all on results and you are not getting them, now or the last two seasons, So not just to be mean but I hope you go down to wake you all up. LOOK at the league table.

Agree7 Disagree0

Villa, a run down club in a very run down area, we dont need them in the prem not a nice place to travel to, but a good place to leave. come on you blues.

Agree7 Disagree0

Why oh why are so many dung shovellers on the Villa site? Is it because they can only pi-s take? I remember many years back when the same rivallry was taking place and Bond was the manager of the Canaries and at the end of the day it was Villa that went forward and the egg coddlers that went in the opposit direction. Yes Villa are struggling through bad management at all levels but just remember that MAN. U were in 19th place in the league when they made just one signing from Leeds, Cantona. From that date they have never looked back. Also remember that only 7 clubs are ever present in the prem, are Norwich one of them? Thought not! AS you know times change and just because you are doing well at the moment does not guarantee that you will still be the same at the end of the season. Villa must improve but Norwich are at their peak, and where is that?

Agree0 Disagree1

Stop living in the past grandad, it's now that matters, unfortunately (for you) you seem unable to accept that you aren't the team you were 20 years ago...get over it. Nobody has a divine right to success, and just because villa have been ever present in the premier league doesn't mean it can't happen. Last season they survived by the skin of their teeth, this season they won't.

Agree5 Disagree0

Lambert has to go - Villa are crap!

Believable7 Unbelievable6

The question is what did we expect at the start of the season when Lambert was hailed as the next messiah by the Villa faithful? Is our current plight down to the team not being simply good enough? Misunderstaning of tactics? Or should we expect this year on year? The talk of rebuilding for the future is all very well but the present is disappearing fast . I don't think sacking is the answer but unless we don't start playing we could find ourselves in the Championship next season, which would be disastrous. Villa till I die! AGD

Agree1 Disagree0

Back in the bottom 3 where you belong...,lol. NCFC

Agree3 Disagree2

Norwich have still got their knickers in a twist about the manager they nicked from Colchester and replaced with the manager nicked from Birmingham.
Football has a pecking order and one season in the premiership does not a big club make.
Villa will be in the bottom six, but so will Norwich. If we can stabalise and get a run together the future looks good for us. Norwich will be returning to the Championship in the near future, like it or not.

Agree2 Disagree7

Bring in Steve Bruce before its too late.

Agree5 Disagree2

look at the team you have, all your players have nothing to thank Lambert for,Hence play with the big I am feeling, All earning more money if they just sit on the subs bench and none of your players have actually played for him, but for themselfs, Norwich on the other hand have a team of players that have come up through the leagues with every thing to prove, they ran through brick walls for Lambert, and the feel good factor is shining through again for Chris Hughton. We never nicked him from Colchester no more than we knicked C H from Birmingham, but the big thing here is we came out off the deal on top, we have the Better manager See you in December,Thats if you can stummock another thumping and go out of the Cup.

Agree3 Disagree1

I think Lambert is doing a marvellous job and yes villa are crap....lol

I can see why bent dosent fit in anymore he is hardly a ball winner and dosent fight for the cause benteke is a great signing he holds and passes the ball intelligently hes not always looking for a goal if there are other options and still finds time to bag a few goals of his own and the best thing is there is still room for improvement bent is a good old goal hanger but he needs to move on would love to see us use the money to improve other areas as weimann bowery and the fonz are more than enough cover

Believable1 Unbelievable1

You would need a lot of money for bent to build a team good enough to stay in the prem, 3 or 4 nil on sat, up the blues. a Man city fan.
