a strong rumour that malky mc kay has turned down norwich city and requested that they appoint mc leish..................lmao

Believable2 Unbelievable1

30 May 2012 21:18:52
im a norwich fan and to all you villa fans, you can f*** off. lambert is not leaving norwich... end of. we have david mcnally who brought lambo here and he is strong enough to keep him here

Believable2 Unbelievable12

You were saying lol

Agree9 Disagree1

Hi please to meet you didnt know norwich had fans??

Agree9 Disagree1

Typical small minded fan, cant see the wood for the trees. Of course Lambert could be interested in the AVFC managers job. Challenge, opportunity are all at VP. What is at Norwich? Comfort and wan-ers like you. I wonder just why Lambert would leave Norwich for AVFC? WE might see later today? However I think that AVFC could do better than Lambert. You are not old enough to remember John Bond who never had a good word to say about Villa. The phrase Aston Villa Canaries killer was coined to rile the fans, the same as today. how about a hard boiled egg??

Agree7 Disagree1

No disrespect to Norwich but Villa are a bigger club

Agree7 Disagree1

I'm a villa fan and you're a Norwich fan, I wonder which one of us is crying this morning hahahha have it back Norwich fans, what were you saying about lambert loving norwich ha

Agree5 Disagree1

O dear mr Norwich fan looks like your little club can't keep your big club manager do before you come on our site telling us to f**k off get your facts right so to all you moaners ha ha ha and to all you decent Norwich fans wish you well in search for a new manager

Agree4 Disagree1

Lol at these Norwich fans, your in deep s**t when we get Lambert, who in turn will probably bring Holt. Back to league one where you belong.

Agree3 Disagree1

Having been at Norwich on the last day of the season can I just say how brilliant the Norwich fans are. If, and I hope he does, Lambert takes the Villa job, it is because Villa are a top premiership club and should be playing in Europe. The potential is obvious and you can see why it would be an attractive proposition for a manager of Lambert's calibre {Ed007's Note - I keep expecting mini-MON to develop an Irish accent! AV will be the third club he has managed that has also been managed by MON.}

Agree3 Disagree0

There's no point in having a manager who dosen't want to be at the club. good luck next season

Agree4 Disagree0

Its fuuny cos he resigned, lol.

BYE BYE back to league 1 you go

Agree3 Disagree0

You were saying Norwich fan, it seems like its a matter of compo now about 1 to 1.5 mill enough for a club Like Norwich

Agree1 Disagree0

The compo isn't even required it's a case of Lambert is asking to give a token payment to Norwich so he can bring his assistant and make a bid for holt knowing it will then be accepted as if the player wants to go it'll be done and holt would be a decent 2nd striker and put gabby on thewing with Holman

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2012 19:05:24
Poyet
Holloway
or even Lambert (just to p*ss the canaries off)

for Manager as any of them would prefer to manage a big team than the other teams on over to them

Believable3 Unbelievable1

30 May 2012 18:02:45
It won't be Martinez he's saying at Wigan who next

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Yeh staying with bigger club, ha,ha,ha,

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2012 18:02:00
Come on Mr Lerner, the talent is going elsewhere. It looks like Martinez is where AVFC are going, but he rejected us last time and may well again. Poyet will go to Swansea. They are a lot more ambitious than Mr Lerner.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

30 May 2012 17:45:20
i would much prefer ian holloway to martinez, holloway is a frugal and shrewd manager greatly underated, that can manage a team on shoestring funds and get the best out of players,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,big dave dublin, avfc forever

Believable4 Unbelievable2

30 May 2012 16:04:36
Poyet to Swansea is what the Swans fans are saying. Is Lerner happy to see this happen? Our wish list is getting less every day!!!!!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

30 May 2012 16:02:58
Swans fans saying that they are going to get Poyet when Rogers goes to 'Pool. Why is Lerner not in action? Pull your finger out mr Lerner.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

30 May 2012 14:40:38
come on villa anounnce the manager !!!!!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

29 May 2012 16:10:44
gareth southgate i hope not !

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I can only agree once with your post but could I add 25 times to your post?

Agree2 Disagree0

I still have a feeling that Sven is lurking in the background. He is available, cheap, and willing. If he comes expect Beckham to follow. DB is a very close friend of SGE and he wants to get back into the Prem. In fact he could buy AVFC from lerner. Now theres a thought?

Agree1 Disagree2

Is not lerner looking for a youing manager!
sure sven does not fit in!

Agree1 Disagree0

29 May 2012 11:43:05
what about benitez guys, give us your views, big dave dublin

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Passed it tbh, the champs league final was a long time ago. couldn't manage inter and has been out of the game for a while. much prefer rdm or poyet.

Agree1 Disagree1

Benitez will want transfer money. What is in VP will not be enough for him. The way we are going both you Big man and I should send in our cv's, one of us should get the job!!!

Agree2 Disagree0

Benitez tends to play negative football. After Mcleish we need someone who thinks about winning games rather than not losing them. Look where that approach got us last season ! Think Poyet is probably the likely candidate

Agree1 Disagree1

28 May 2012 21:16:47
What are the chances of Gervinho coming in on loan for next year?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

First off it depends on the manager and secondly, I highly doubt that we'd sign him on loan.

If we are lucky Heskey will be our first signing when Phil brown takes over

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Like your humour, however, the ridiculous could happen. Lerner & Faulkner are waiting to see who is available after LFC take their pick. Why the ---- are we waiting for others, why dont we get in there and upset LFC?

Agree2 Disagree0

27 May 2012 15:27:02
Why are these Norwich fans never off this page? You have got enough going on at your own club with Holt and Lambert stop worrying about the bigger, better club.

Just got to work in the city I work at the Midland Hotel and have Seen Poyet in the dining room, apart from having breakfast no idea why he is here. {Ed001's Note - and yet in another post you claimed to live in Germany and support a German team. You have been blocked Mr. Fantasist!}

Why does everyone keep saying we have no money to spend in the summer? We've reduced the wage bill down and Mr. Lerner said mid season that we could spend like we ust to in the future and that there will be money. Though I hope our new man doesn't spend like we ust to, if I see another Habib Beye ill kill myself.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Very true Lerner has said he has no issue with providing fee's for transfer fees it's the player wages as Villa's wage bill is ranked 46th highest wage bill of of all professional sports teams in all sports (tthe feed for this is on News Now) therefore within another season of not renewing the last of the O'neil era wage contracts Villa will be under this signicantly and able to operate comfortably.
As believe it or not in the prem the highest wages are paid in this order
Man City
Chelsea
Man utd
Aresnal
Liverpool
Villa
Spurs
Blackburn
Fulham
Everton

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Robbie Savage has just been on Meridian TV talking about Gus Poyet. He "intimated " that Poyet will be moving to a prem. club quite soon. No clubs namedso let us hope.

Hey Orrible! 13.00 hours and no announcement. Not long too go, and if it doesn't happen non of your posts will ever be believed. You will look like an person for being so sure. However I am prepared to wait and see before making further comment. What are you going to call yourself in future?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Why are you talking to yourself?

Agree3 Disagree1

Not talking to oneself , challengeing this person from Brighton. Perhaps its you?

Agree0 Disagree2

Poyet will be going to Birmingham city, Hougton to West brom Bruce to Villa

Agree0 Disagree6

Brighton far bigger than birmingham so he wont be going there

Agree1 Disagree1

25 May 2012 12:33:12
OGS has said no, Paul Lambert isn't going to come, Martinez is going to Liverpool ... We're going to get Gus Poyet

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Your next manager will not be arriving till after the Lg1 playoff then Mr Simon Grayson will be announced on Tuesday

Agree2 Disagree5

I do not want Grayson he was awful at Leeds say no more !!

25 May 2012 12:06:29
A rank outsider. Young , with something to prove, last match with his club Tomorrow.
We are giving him a blank page to create. I think all will be taken back by this appointment and a lot of people will look extremely pathetic with there comments. R.L. means business this time.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

I actually want poyet he's had European experience scouted for Chelsea and brought Brighton a very poor team from the 2nd division to the championship and nearly got into the playoffs if he can do that with mediocre players what else can he do and will also attract stars thru his stature as a player and his history at the bridge why not ??

Agree3 Disagree0

25 May 2012 09:07:35
Gaurdiola has seen there is a vacancy and has decided that he is happy to get back into football for next season. Bring it on. This is the LFC site isn't it? Seriously this might change the thinking of LFC and leave Martinez looking for another role. He only has 2 weeks to make up his mind if he wants to leave Wigan. Great game of brinksmanship going on.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

24 May 2012 21:30:27
Hi Villians, Brighton Oracle here! As stated earlier in the week Mr Poyet will be announced your new boss tomorrow. He will bring with him Tarrico and possibly Vincente will be brought in as well. I hope the Vincente bit is wrong as he would be useful for us seagulls. He's now injury free and was a world apart from anything I have ever seen in a Brighton shirt. You may get two Quality seasons out of the Spaniard. Be patient in the midlands... You are getting a quality young manager and he will defo put bums on seats!!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Hi there Orrible. Much as I would enjoy your statements coming true, it is amazing that you can have this sort of positivity about a matter that is as yet not in the public playground. It has not yet been commented on by the observers at VP that they have seen Poyet at VP. Indeed, not even SLY, who know everything, have seen Poyet at VP. WE are all waiting to see who arrives, but your certainty seems more than a little extreme.

Agree2 Disagree3

24 May 2012 16:23:36
Don't think even the bookies have got much of a steer on who we'll get....... though thankfully you can still get better odds on Ole Gunnar 'No thanks, Randy' Solskjaer than you can on Glenn Hoddle!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 May 2012 10:51:41
Hesky (at last), Cueller (shame), Guzan(expected) off the wage bill. Nearly £10,000,000 annually off the wage bill.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Are you in accounts at the villa how do u know it's ten mill another unreliable source I bet I were one of the fans who said Mcarthy was gonna be manager it's poyet I s*** u not

Agree0 Disagree3

You dont need to be in accounts, just be able to count and do simple maths.
£10,000,000 divided by 52 = £192,307.
Now divide by 3(players) = £64,102 each. It seems common knowledge that Ivanhoe was on £65,000, Cuellar £65,000, and Guzen would have been somewhere similar. Approx £10m pa. Not 100% exact but pretty close!

Agree0 Disagree1

So you are in management at VP. Are you in the legal part compiling contracts?
S--- u not. We are all guessing and dreaming about our next target! THe estimate of £10m is quite accurate.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm not being funny but the only wage you got right was Heskey's as Cuellar wouldn't move to rangers last summer cause they wouldnt match his 45k pw wages and Guzan was released as he was on 40k pw and there getting Kelo for 2k pw to replace him which gives a total of 7.8m a year not 10m

Agree3 Disagree0

So you are in accounts at VP. Or are you supposing your figures to be exact. AS an estimate my £10m was , as they say, merely a guide line. Which ever is correct, it is an awful lot of money that Lerner is saving.

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm not being funny but the only wage you got right was Heskey's as Cuellar wouldn't move to rangers last summer cause they wouldnt match his 45k pw wages and Guzan was released as he was on 40k pw and there getting Kelo for 2k pw to replace him which gives a total of 7.8m a year not 10m
-------------------------------------------
These figures were widely reported inthe news over the last year therefore must not be wide from the mark giving a total of 7.8m

Hi Brighton Oracle here! Hope AJL you are eating humble pie right now? I've just posted about you getting Poyet at the weekend. I know what's going on at my club, where as u my friend do not. No OGS!! Be patient as you are getting quality manager and assistant! Brighton Oracle

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Ok I'm shocked something has happened as my source was 100 % I do know my club but on this occasion I bow down. I just hope and prey it's not Martinez or Lambert but again we have to go for second best

AJ

Agree1 Disagree1

Dont hold your breath, nothing is certain in football life. Lerner will make HIS decision and it may not be what seems certain. Lerner is his own man and he owns AVFC. Who would have thought Houllier, who would have thought McLiesh, who thought Solskar?
Their are still names that could arrive at VP. Keep an open mind, you might get a surprise!

Agree4 Disagree0

Hope do good manager Leighton brum I was the first to say ogs wasn't comin last night was I not Leighton brum come on Lerner next best thing poyet ;))

ogs, laursen, schemical, cowans & macdonald dream team for villa ?????

Wake up my friend. There is no chance of this happening much as we would like to see it happen.

Agree4 Disagree0

22 May 2012 02:00:09
I would love to see something different like everyone else...
No way Curbishley etc
However we are pouring praise on Martinez for keeping Wigan up ignoring Jewell and work done before his appointment (not a one man miracle)
and likewise Solskjaer ... winner of a title,ex Utd and we love the idea of attacking football after last season.
But we all saw the vid of OGS .. shoot shoot shoot etc etc... managing in the premiership is an art, we all think we could do a great job but we cant, fans are great at hindsight.
My point I think. Can we not look further afield. We like the idea of OGS because we know him but a manager of a French Belgian Greek side(whatever) may be amazing. Stuff paracihal language issues - better to have a tactically adept man WHEREVER he is from. Lets keep an open mind otherwise appoint a Steve Bruce and repeat the idiocy (from fans as well as the board and coaching staff)

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Well sky have said there has been no approach for Lambert, are they saying He's told us to piss off as well then

Agree2 Disagree0

21 May 2012 09:14:23
rob di matteo anyone

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Sacked from Baggies, but is proving himself at the Pensioners.( The real Nickname of Chelsea!) I wouldn't say no.

Agree2 Disagree4

Considering we all want attacking football i'd say no he is mr counter attack.... i think you need to decide what you want attacking football or sit back and hope we can score on the break i mean come on.....

Agree5 Disagree3

20 May 2012 19:27:30
dont want us to sign ogs,i imagine he was playing hard to get, stating he wasnt interested in the job,and then saying he wants it,move on and sign lambert and lets get it done

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Lambert wont come to VP! He is loyal too the canaries. East Anglia is a quiet backwater were there is seldom a wave to disturb the easy life. At VP he would have to avoid a tidal wave of supporters expressing their views and an owner who is the new invisible man.

Agree1 Disagree1

I would guess that any talented manager would see what else is available before signing. AV are not the only employers looking for a manager. Villa are a hot potato and will need careful consideration before joining. Personally I think that he could develop both of our strikers as he was one of the cleverest strikers in the prem. Both Benty and Gabby should be delighted if AV can get Solskars name on a contract and it might also influence their decisions on staying at VP or them looking elsewhere.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 May 2012 15:21:40
think the aston vila fans need to read what ogs has said before saying he has turned villa down no 1 has turned the job down.Villa fans will u start getting behind the club was got the ginger crap out now its time to start looking at us moving forward and get in the real world we dont have loads of money but if villa spend like newcastle have then it looks like it will end in a good season now stop moaning and get behind everyone at the club

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Iv posted that on the rumour page u make sense would love him down villa park ;)))

Agree2 Disagree0

19 May 2012 07:43:38
Ogs or Paul Lambert it's a no brainer come on Randy have some balls OGS is your man take a chance. Look what and who he could bring to villa . A young ambitious manager playing exciting flair football. A winner who has respect in the game out of all the people linked with the villa this is the only name that excites me. And it's along time since I felt this way, about villa OGS IS YOUR MAN do the deal or loose him. Then regret it fir a long time. AJ

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Exactly goodwork and speaking sense osg goodtimes ahead pls appoint him attacking football is what we need

Agree2 Disagree0

Paul Lambert has just signed a new 3 year deal at Norwich .

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2012 21:06:54
The deal is not done for OGS. It's an interview process at the moment and there are two other candidates to be interviewed next week. Do not expect to hear a manager named until at least the end of next week.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Gary Megson and Glen Roeder?

Agree0 Disagree9

Glen roeder is already employed by villa and is happy in his role he will not be making a return to management

Agree3 Disagree0

I'm not saying that the deal is done but given the fact that Lurner has gone back to the states already I would say that things have prgressed

Agree0 Disagree3

Lerner has gone home as he doesn't enjoy the situation of being blasted by fans that abuse him and his staff. In the States no one knows about Aston Villa and he gets a quiet life. What would you choose?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2012 20:49:38
If you do get OGS as manager i would expect him to sign Magnus Eikrem from Molde.....

Believable4 Unbelievable1

18 May 2012 11:48:39
Im From Molde in Norway. I can comfirm that Solskjær was not present on the trainingground today.

I understand that he is one of the candidates for the job, but nothing has been agreed yet. He have alot of offers in England. And have several times said that he is staying in Norway for a long time, But Aston Villa is such a BIG club. I Guess he want this jobb. If you get him, you will get a very talented manager. GREAT COACH.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Lets Hope so

Agree4 Disagree0

Can you back your opinion up please not that i doubt it

Agree4 Disagree0

17 May 2012 18:18:57
Ole gunnar solsksjaer has emerged as the new favourite. Can only mean he is at villa park talking to the board. Interesting! Good record a current club Molde where he won the swedish title last year in his first season.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Lerner is in Norway, photos of his jet are in norwegian press. Talks are going on but like most jobs more than one candidate will be interviewed ...so 1/2 at the bookies? i think 20/1 poyet represents the best value punt for me still.

Agree1 Disagree1

Solsksjaer is norweigan just like molde u numpty

Believable12 Unbelievable0

16 May 2012 22:28:07
Why did Loserpool have to sack their person manager when we are on the hunt for a new one. If they are interested in one of our targets he will obviously choose them as Loserpools owner can promise him all the money he can waste. I mean they are throwing around 75m on Carroll, Downing and Henderson, such a waste of investment.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

How can you complain about another club spending vasts amount of money when Villa have done exactly the same thing these last few years.

Agree1 Disagree5

I'm complaining about how they spent it. i mean look at their signings.

Agree1 Disagree1

They payed 35mill for caroll! man city payed the same for aguero! Compare the two and you can see why Liverpool finished lower than Everton!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2012 21:22:18
I've heard that Gary Megson is high on the list of candidates?

Paul Faulkner said;

"We want to find someone to reinvigorate the club,"

"We want someone to bring some vibrancy back to Villa. That's what we need and that's what we're going to get. A disaster would have been getting relegated but this was too close for comfort."

Well; Megson ticks all the right boxes-
1) Dynamic.
2) Likes to play fluent "Brazilian Style" football.
3) Available for work (no compensation to pay).
4) Lives in the area (no relocation costs).

You can forget McCarthy, Its Gary Megson just wait and see!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Most ridiculous thing I have ever heard

Agree3 Disagree0

Yet another loser, we need a winner as the new manager not someone like, Megson, Bruce, McCarthy.

Agree1 Disagree0

Bruce would be a decent manager he built a decent squad at sunderland and sold players on for profit
He also guided them to mid table finishes not a bad choice!!

I'd like to see Poyet or ole guna Soljsar but I'd be happy with Bruce as i know he'd be good in the transfer window and improve the squad not buying donkey's like Heskey,Beye,N'zogbia, Hutton

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry mate your wrong on bruce he is tactically inept, sunderland won two home games in the whole of 2011.

Bruce has no class and just makes excuses after excuses for his failings. He still moans about his safc departure even now.

We have been waiting for a left back at sunderland for 3 years now he is clueless.O,Neil will no doubt get us out of the mess we are in now.

Bruce signed some shockers last summer.

Mcleish I better than bruce and so is villa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea and faulkner said he wants a young , vibrant manager! gary megson no way!

Dalgleish...

Believable0 Unbelievable4

What prat wrote this? Dalgliesh is a yesterdays man. His spending at LFC was appalling and he is through and through LFC which would not be good for AVFC.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 May 2012 17:30:15
Personally I fell like we could expierence quite a few changes, obviously with the new manager coming in. So here is what I think may happen:

Out:
Heskey (His contract isn't being renewed, which some fans will be happy about but I think that he does have a role).
Beye (Already Gone so his funds may be useful).
*Makoun (Possible transfer, may even go out on loan again).
*Warnock (Possible transfer, had a poor season but the new manager may no sell him).
*Bent (Possible transfer, injured for half the season, he's 28 and cost 18-24 million would be happy to get most of the money back).

In:
Martin Olsson (3-5 million as Blackburn went down we have a chance).
Brett Holman (On a free, good bit of business hopefully, but I haven't seen much of him).
*Guthrie (Unsure about the details but it could be possible).

Who else I would like to join:
Keane (A loan would do but when he came to AV he really did do well).
Junior Hoilett (Described by many Blackburn fans as the only good thing about there season).
Keane (A loan would do but when he came to AV he really did do well).Or Yakubu did well if Bent went there would be a space for him.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Beye was released, uve mentioned keane twice and martin olsson, really?

Agree0 Disagree7

Sorry about the Keane and the Beye incident but personally feel that Olsson and Hoilett were quite good this year. Can, you really say that Warnock had a great campaign. Lets remember that last summer we basically tried to balance the books, so I wouldn't be shocked if the same happend again. Anyway Olsson would do better at left back than Warnock!

Agree8 Disagree0

16 May 2012 16:58:53
I think that if McCarthy got the job he would get similar treatment to the Big Eck, but personally feel that he would do a better job. But, I wouldn't welcome him with open arms though! Rodgers and Lambert are both great but would they be willing to leave there clubs, personally, I think not. Martinez has a great realtionship with Dave Whelan so I don't think he is really a big option, he's already rejected us once. Personally, I don't think Maclaren is a good manager he sucked at Nottingham Forest and England. Bruce is an option bu last season at Sunderland was't very good but I still rate him. AVB isn't an option he is good but I think that his last expierence in England was enough so he may go back to Portugal with Porto or a team like that. Personally feel like only Curbishly and Bruce are the only options so far, but it may change.

Now, this is just a question are we actually going to buy anyone this time? Or are we still trying to balance the books?

Would welcome any thoughts on managers and players.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Aston Villa are interested in Spartak Moscow’s Artem Dzyuba. The 23-year-old, 6ft 4in striker is quick and can also play on the wing.

Poyet, Lambert, Houghton, Rodgers or even Hughes
For Villa's next manager

It wont be McCarthy, Benitez,Raneri or Martinez as all are mediocore managers which Villa dont want

Remember the statement a young ambitious manager who can drive the club onto challenging for european football again where we belong

Again I'm hearing the new manager will be given 30 million to spend, up to 4 new first team players are expected to be bought in as well as any free transfers to make up for the players leaving eg, Collins, Warnock, Heskey etc, as long as the wage structure is healthy the likes of Diame, Figuroa, Clyne, Douglas, Barnetta are all likely to join the squad, Jean Makoun is due to return from loan also.

I don't know where all this s**t comes from? Mick McCarthy 100% no the board will not talk to him. Steve Bruce 100% no they won't talk to him either. I love the speculation and the hype. But to many people Believe there own rubbish that's printed. So all be patient I think were in for a pleasant surprise. The board can't afford to get it wrong. Us villa fans have already voted with there feet this season and season ticket sales are well down, Lerner needs the backing of the fans and so does his accountant so here's to the right man coming in I still think AVB and Ray Wilkins would be a great shout but here's one to mull over .. Big Kev and Martin larsson just a thought AJ

Martinez will sign for Villa bringing Diame and Figueroa with him, the board are keen on the transfer of Douglas Teixeira, like Hollman on a free, Jordan Rhodes will be most likely bought in as he's available for a fair price, Jean Makoun will also be bought back to compete with Diame for a starting place, more youngsters are expected to step-up again with the known trouble makers Collins/Warnock shipped out along with other fringe players who aren't expected to cut it, Marian Kello should replace Guzan

something along the lines of this is likely...

------------------------ Given----------------------------

-----Hutton----Douglas------Clark---------Figueroa----

-------------------------Diame---------------------------

------Hollman----------Ireland-------------- N'Zogbia--

----------------------Bent-----Rhodes-------------------

Dunne, Stevens, Albrighton, Makoun, Gardner, Weimann, Herd, Agbonlahor, Delph, Kello are all expected to stay on.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

That is a very average team.

Dont agree Gardner will come good next year ,Hutton N`Zogbia Ireland sell then with the rest

Agree0 Disagree0

Villa wont go for Martinez he's just a mediocore manager all he's managed to do with wigan is barely survive 2 years in a row.
Mark my words if we get Martinez as manager we'll be in for more rubbish signings and more rubbish football but he'll just manage to keep us up will that make him a hero for villa like wigan I dont think so as for Villa thats not good enough.

weather we like the new manager who's going to come in or not it does'nt matter. Learner didnt listen us about Mcliesh, so he wont listen to you now, Leaner knows who he wants and what type of manager he wants, we just have to get on with the fact who ever the manager is because its not upto us, even if it is bruce we need to get behind the manager and the players instead of chanting, abusing the manager because that also affects games as well as the performances. in my opinion i think that Mcliesh shouldnt of been sacked.. the players were the ones to blame not the manager the manager selects the best he can pick at that match, its weather or not the players play best they can. but this season they didnt. its the players fault.

Randy Lerner is hoping to appoint his next manager within the next two weeks.

It's believed Lambert is top of his list and Villa are set to offer Norwich City £10million for the services of Lambert.

Also Lambert is going to be offered a two year contract worth £2million season plus £30million to spend in this summers transfer window.

It's also rumored that Sven-Göran Eriksson will be plan B if they fail to persuade Lambert to join.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

I wish I knew how people get this rubbish. Who the hell knows what Lerner is going to do when he doesn't even know?

Agree4 Disagree0

Sven has been waiting for the Villa post to become available since he was conned by the fake arab sheik. If he comes then expect Beckham to be in claret & blue within a week. If Sven does arrive we will have the best away record in the league. It has been suggested that he likes to play away from home!

And just for those who think above is unfair because Sunderland have a bigger stadium so able to have more fans etc. On average Villa filled 78% and Sunderland 80%. Believable3 Unbelievable1

Poyet and lambert have proven they can manage well and take the pressure and both have a good style of football.
Which under Martinez i dont believe we'll achieve as he's just another mediocore manager with a mediocore style of football who just manages to survive in the prem give the job to a young hungry manager with a good style of attacking football/counter attacking football which we expect at villa

Having been at Norwich today and just seen McLeish's interview on MOTD, the guy is seriously deluded.

1 The fans were complaining about his performance and frustrated at his lack of tactical ability, plan a, plan a, plan a.
2 It was obvious that he has lost the dressing room, no great performances today other than the mighty Shay !!
3 What negative tactics yet again, we have nothing to lose by going for goals and he plays 7 defenders. Even when we were 2-0 down and QPR were losing he still doesn't change
4 Randy Lerner has the right to waste his money as he sees fit, but if someone at the club reccommended he pay the Blues even a penny to secure McLeish's services they need to be out the door with, if not before, McLeish.

If he is still here next season then I think I spend my season ticket money on betting we get relegated. What odds do you think I'll get, evens ?

Sad but this guy has ruined a great club and needs to, for once, make the right decison and fall on his sword.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

AVB will not be seen at VP. He doesn't even know where The city of Birmingham is let alone a postal district. Lerner will make his mind up eventually but dont expect a big name. Without a guarantee of huge funding we will struggle to get a quality manager of proven ability.

Gerard Houllier should of come to Villa in the capacity of Director of Football overseeing youth development from the start.

get out warnock and get in baines

heskey
cuellar

leaving a squad under moyes of

baines,stevens
albrighton,malouda
ireland,gardner,bannan
herd,delph,mkouan
nzogbia,holman
bent,delfounso,?
agbonlahor,weimann

in total this would cost 23 million with a free striker
and this would be recouped with a higher finish and
higher attendences but a cheaper way would be to get in benitiz who would cost nothing but even the he would want 20 mill to spend.
the squad avbove would give us what we want and also balance your books rerady to go higher the following season.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

You want Benitez?
Then you better have a 20m-30m transfer budget but more importantly a real plan to build the club up.
Otherwise no chance.

next season we have to be in the top challenging for europa on a limited squad

you need to get the playing staff right
from manager to to youth set up, you know how far you have come by retaining premership survival

no one is going to put up with this next season

take a hint - mcleish out his style is to defensive and will only put us in jepordy next seson if he stays .

Mcleish out his style is to defensive and will only put us in jepordy next seson if he stays
----------------------------------------
I wouldn't say McLeish is defensive as that implies Villa are defensivly solid where were not with a clumsy RB a useless LB and both CB's are inconsistant

Mcleish is a neutral manager who does commit to defensive or attacking football,

Least if he was effective with his defensive tactics we'd be strong at the back and able to knick a goal and WIN games.

For me Mcleish just likes to neutralise games being un-effective at either tactics.

NO DRIVE FOR ATTACK!
NO CLUE HOW GAIN ADVANTAGE IN SET PLAYS!
CANT DEFEND SET PLAYS!
CANT DEFEND A LEAD!
AND JUST HOPES TEAMS GET BORED AND SETTLE FOR DRAWS!

Arsenal fan here,

Just want to say well done to your boys holding of spurs and what a strike by Ciaran Clark haha. Some heroic defending by Given, Dunne, Hutton and the rest. Shame the one goal you did concede was a penalty. Glad your staying up another season and get well soon Petrov.

to the norwich fan who said bring the tissues on the 13th to wipe the tears i don't think we will be needing them now do you mate? how does it feel to get relegated to the championship? and then when you have finished telling me that you can then tell me how it feels to be relegated in to league 1? don't get to cocky just because you had a good first season back in the prem you're not the first team to do it just hope you do the same next season when the big teams come along and and buy your best players the 2nd season in the prem is a lot harder!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

You must be to young to remember that Villa went down to the 3rd division back in the late 60's then, and took you a couple of seasons to get out, The Tissues was directed to my Nephew, who is a Villa fan he took great delight in reminding me of the fact we have never won the FAcup, or as he puts it you have lost it more times than we have won, I hope you do come next Sunday the score is of no importance to either side,Norwich fans have been partying for weeks now, feel free to join in on the riverside Wetherspoons will be rocking, As I have already said we welcome all fans into our pubs, if you are coming for the first time, I'm very sure we will be put on the list of favourite away grounds you have everything you need within seconds from the ground

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah i know norwich very very well! and i have a big soft spot for the club which has a great bunch of fans its great little city and good night life i'm looking forward to next weekend knowing we are safe! no i wasn't born when we went down so won't how it felt but anyway roll on next weekend and then next season and hopefully we both have a good season next time! lol

right now were safe we need to rebuild the club, get AM out and get a manager with premier league experience like rafa b, then get some new player in like wingers, adam johnson, matt jarvis people like them and then a couple of defenders.

up the villa!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Why go for players from a relegated side?
If they were any good they wouldn't be relegated, did you hear what Trevor Brooking said? there is a plan to put into force next season that No player will be allowed to leave a relegated team untill January, Good idea I think, its the players who took the club down and it has to be them to get the club back

Agree0 Disagree2

Why the hell would he say that, it's ridiculous ^^^

Yes the season is nearly over!

This is how I see it,1 mon left us in the s**t houlier came in and tried hard but was always going to find it hard following mon on a limited budget but did his best.
Due to houliers heart attack we were struggling to get a new manager now I believe there was a lot of interest but because of the funds being so low people walked away (Hughes,Benitez, martinez) now at this point my choice was to give the reigns to Kevin McDonald because he had already worked with the talented reserve team and knew the players inside out.
Then low and behold we start talking to Mcliesh even after he had just taken our nearest and dearest to the championship (thank u for that by the way)even though every man and his dog advised them not to still they went ahead and hired him ( shame on you randy).
Now we are safe the only thing I can salvage from this season is that we have given a lot of youngsters a chance (more through injuries and suspensions than good management)and there are some gems there barker looks a real strong c/back,herd is possibly our answer to petrov s impending retirement bannhan has looked class in patches but has nt played enough and wiemann is possibly a ideal partner for bent if he stays .
But whatever happens a change is needed and I would start Monday by sacking Mcliesh

Believable2 Unbelievable0

The appointment of McLiesh wasn't a sudden choice. I dont know which newspaper printed it, but one reporter actually stated that this would happen well before the dark side slipped away.
It was suggested that Lerner was approached some weeks before the season end about McLiesh and he believed that it would be a great choice. He didn't know that the faithful would not accept his choice of leader. We must remember that Lerner owns 100% of AVFC and does not need the agreement of the supporters. Next manager will not come from the prem. Why would another manager want to come to Villa Park seeing how McLiesh has been treated?
The only interest will be from good lower divisions or out of work managers at the end of the season. Out of work will not cost money. The candidates are not good reading. However Sven could be top of the list, remember he plays very well away from home!!!!

Agree1 Disagree2

Mcarthey,Bruce, sven and hoddle ain't doing anything for me why not go for avb or capello they are the best available and both have unfinished business in the prem, other than that get a youngster in Clark,Lambert, houghton, mackey or Di canio give someone who wants to do well and has hunger a chance

Can I have a pint of what ever he's on please?

What an awful season. McLeish has to take some of the blame but the main reason is the sheer lack of talent in the squad. Sell 2 of our best players (Young and Downing) then Bent gets injured and then Stan can't play. There is no depth and not enough talent to mount a challenge at the moment, no creativity, no goals and very little desire. Money needs to get spent in the summer if things are to change.

As for Delph, Herd and Collins - simply embarrassing behaviour. Letting everyone associated with the club down unnecessarily is exactly what we don't need!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

No the problem is the coaching staff and the purchases made at the start of the season. Hutton and CNZ are attacking players and numb nuts went out and paid £15m for them and stuck them in a defensive formation. McLeish is a tool and this is 100% his fault

Agree3 Disagree2

CNZ and Hutton are attacking players
-------------------------------------
Hasn't CNZ played on the wing all season in his natural position (he's just sh*t)

Hutton is a attacking Right back the position he's played all season (he's just clumsy and gets caught out of position, in a word sh*t)

Agree4 Disagree1

Hutton is by far the worst player ever at vp. god help us if gingy keeps his job and is let loose with cheque book.

Balckburn cant touch us now unless they score 20 goals in two matches.

McLeish is rummored to have been having secret meetings with David Sullivan and David Gold regarding the west ham job. If West Ham fail to get promoted, then west ham will sack Sam Allardyce and Alex McLeish will resign from Aston Villa in order to become the next West Ham manager.

McLeish resigns as manager of Aston Villa, the announcement to be made today. It's believed McLeish held a meeting today with Randy Lerner to discuss the plans for the rest of the season. It's believed McLeish fell out with Lerner resulting in his resignation.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

That is a load of rubbish. Randy wasn't even here yesterday.
