Thank you Sunderland given everyone a lift around you now because your that scared that your going to be relagated. We should be able to stay up could do with a win today though.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Thank you Liverpool keeping the Villa in their rightful place' It gets harder from here HA HA bye bye

Agree7 Disagree2

When are these mugs from Norwich going to realise that they are knee deep in the brown stuff, it ain't over till its over. VTID

Agree5 Disagree1

Be charitable mate. Think what it must be like to live in their world. Bloody horrific I would imagine
Mendax

Agree3 Disagree1

If we are knee deep you must be neck deep, haha

Agree1 Disagree2

Good morning Villa fans how are you today, It might come as a suprise for you to learn that we don't mind the loss to Wigan, as it Puts you back where you belong, your run in has to be the hardest of the lot, even QPR can jump you LMFAO

Agree3 Disagree1

Correction you had no choice loosing to wigan your c**p and to say u didn t mind loosing when your in the position your in tells me u don't give a s**t if u stay up or not saddo.

Agree2 Disagree3

Hardest run in of the lot? Have you seen sunderland's fixtures? We've still got points for grabs against stoke, sunderland, norwich, wigan and maybe even fulham. Uncross your fingers before they get too stiff mate.

Agree3 Disagree2

You didn't care about your club, who are far from safe, losing a six pointer as it put Villa in a poorer position? Have you actually read that back to yourself before posting it?
Sort of lends the lie to the protests of other Norwich fans who claim you are not all obsessed by Villa
Tragic.
Grow up
Mendax

Agree3 Disagree0

Come on Norwich fans, I know this is a banter page but some of the comments posted on here may well come back to haunt us. although us loosing to Wigan has put Villa back in the bottom 3, it has also pulled us into the relegation fight, as long as Norwich win games I don't care how results affect other teams.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sensible comment from a Norwich fan. At last! VTID

Agree2 Disagree0

Well said mate and well done for coming on here and talking sense (even though I do, generally speaking, wish that fans stuck to their own sites to avoid the aggravation)
The daft thing is that there is no real reason for Norwich and Villa fans to be at each others throats. Managers are like players in that they are employees of the clubs. Getting your knickers in a twist about their movements is ridiculous. Fans are here for the long haul. Players and managers will come and go

You can say what you like about MON (I am not a huge fan due to the mess he left us in) but its a mistake by Sunderland to let him go with 7 games left. VTID

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I agree it's a mistake but I still think he has been one of the most overrated managers of recent years
Mendax

Agree3 Disagree0

To compound the error they now put a self confessed fascist in charge. Catapults Sunderland to the top of the list of clubs I want to see disappear off the face of the earth (just behind Blues)

C'MON THE VILLA! Huge game tomorrow! Sunderland to go down, let's do this! :)

Cannot wait for the season to finish so all of the norwich fans shut up. I don't get it, I know their crops are snowed over so they haven't got a lot of work to do but they seem to be the only fans who come on this page other than villa fans! They talk rubbish about how they don't miss paul lambert and how we'll be in the championship next year when the truth is they're not even half safe yet, and if they don't miss paul lambert or aren't jealous they why do they mention his name in every comment. I'm willing to bet that one or two have a cardboard cut out of his face stuck onto a pillow that they cuddle to sleep at night. I apologise to the couple of norwich fans that come on here and talk actual sense but the rest of you need to get a grip of 21st century football before you open your mouths.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Are you talking about the same lambert who our board wouldn't trust with any big money. haha

Agree2 Disagree0

The only reason norwich are spending money this summer is because the books are balanced, if they didn't trust him with the billions of pounds they apparently have then why didn't they give it to hughton? Are you also forgetting that paul lambert wanted to leave and norwich threatend him with court action as they desperately wanted him to stay?

Agree0 Disagree1

They have let Hughton spend far far more than Shambert. Shambert has proved with Ryan Bennett that he can't be trusted with decent money, yet let Hughton have money and he brings in class like Seb Bassong, Snodgrass Nd RVW

Agree3 Disagree0

Rvw hasn't signed yet mate, and he might be rubbish for you. Lambert payed more than the club wanted for benteke and he's scored more goals that all of norwich's strikers put together, yet he can't be trusted? I think the problem was he couldn't attract players to a tiny club on the east coast as well as he will at one of the most decorated teams in europe!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Mar 2013 08:52:41
I the summer after a clear out, Lambert needs to bring I some creative youngsters, to start creating the chances and add a bit of flair.
Anyone know of any realistic gems?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Scott Sinclair
Matty Phillips
Yala Bolasie
Tom Ince

Agree0 Disagree0

We have carruthers and grealish in the academy. Promote them and bring in a strong defensive mid to challenge sylla

Agree1 Disagree0

Think in the summer the only thing lambert will be clearing out is his desk.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Mar 2013 11:55:30
Would love to see carnuthers promoted to the first team istead of wasting money on wage hungry bench warmers

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I can see Sunderland going down now. Not only do they have a tough run of fixtures they have lost there top goalscorer Steven Flexther. Wigan also have a hard run in facing 5 teams in the top 10. Reading have to face 3/4 op 10 teams and have some other hard games against teams on form. QPR have to face 4 top 10 teams. And have to face on form Newcastle. We have to face 3 top 10 teams and the other being teams who could face relagation. So in theory we have the easier run of games than the other relagation threatened teams. We have more winnable game than others but it doesn't always work out like that. Do you think that we will survive the drop or get relegated to the championship? If we don't get relegated who do you think will?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

QPR, Reading and Sunderland for me. I've been saying sunderland will go down for a couple of months now, they're no where near the standard that us and QPR are playing at. I think QPR have left themselves too much to do and reading have shot themselves in the foot. Wigan are playing in the semi final and will probably get to the final, which is a week after we play them so that will be good for us as their mind will be elsewhere. I personally think we're safe, i've expected us to drag ourselves out of it all season really! If we do stay up it will be a good learning curve for the young lads and we can start again next season with a clean slate, no looking beneath us and worrying about the drop! UTV

Agree3 Disagree0

QPR VILLA SUNDERLAND Reading now have Nigal Adkins, he will keep them up

Agree1 Disagree9

If harry redknapp can't save QPR in 20 games I doubt nigel adkins will save reading in 8!

Agree7 Disagree0

Norwich Sunderland and reading to get relegated this season

Agree0 Disagree2

I think by Norwich you mean Villa or you're in a dream world

Agree0 Disagree0

No this is the real world the one where Norwich lost to Wigan today

Agree0 Disagree0

And the same world where Suarez will muller you on live tv tomorrow, another festive 8-0 coming up. haha happy Easter yam yams

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah, we're going to lose 8-0 to a team we walked all over when we played them at anfield. Just because norwich always concede 4/5 against them it doesn't mean we will too.

Agree1 Disagree1

You think one fluke result means you'll beat them, let's revisit this later today then shall we

Agree0 Disagree1

Well as thought you've gone very quiet, so much for your proven to be fluke result. village now entrenched in bottom three. going down!

Agree3 Disagree0

You have to hand it to these Villa fans, they never say die, but in all honesty they are all bricking it, they know its almost Curtains on the Premier league for them, and hate the fact that they got it wrong in the summer when they nicked another Jock, he left us because he couldn't deal with the second season syndrome, But he went about it the wrong way and caused a lot of hatred between the clubs, As he did with Colchester and Whycombe, I get the Feeling that come the Summer he will be on his way to a bigger club, in name only I might add, Even if he manages to keep you up as it will be in effect another second season syndrome for him to cope with, He tried to rebuild Villa like he did Norwich, Big mistake, Villa just needed a couple of new faces and propper coaching, Norwich was an experiment that went right, We ended up with the better deal, if he had stayed we would be in the bottom three now, all be it by 4 points but that is a 4 point cushing you would love to have knowing 3 more points and we can be 10th

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Mar 2013 17:11:33
I wonder who the Norwich haters will shout for this weekend when they play wigan, for the first time ever, I don't mind if Norwich lose if it drags Villa down. This may be childish but I would like to see the cling on's fall, Good games with the blues next year.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

If norwich lose then they're in just as much trouble as us, not to mention sunderland who will only get about 4 points for the rest of the season. People seem to just look who's below villa and completely disregard the fact that we're only 4 points off 11th place, and the teams above us are on the decline, which is exactly why the gap is closing every week!

Agree2 Disagree2

Lets be realistic, anyone in the bottom half of the table could be relegated if results go against them, as a Norwich supporter I know who I would like to go down, but for me Sunderland deservre to go down as they are really poor, I would love to see QPR go down just because they think money can bring success, and finally if Nigel Adkins can keep Reading in the prem at the expence of Southampton it will be justice.
Yes of course I would love to see Villa drop for taking Lambert, but in all honesty I think you have turned the corner and will be safe. Who would you Villa fans like to see relegated and why? please give 4 choices as I know you will all give Norwich as one of them,.

Agree2 Disagree1

In all honesty I say norwich a lot, but i'll admit I don't think it will happen. I do think they've got to be very careful though! Think they suffered from a bit of complacency but they need to get back on track quick! QPR reading and sunderland are down for me, sunderland simply are not good enough, and they have probably the hardest run of fixtures of anybody in the bottom 10! P. s. the only reason villa fans wish norwich down is because they are so bitter about losing a manager. Not you specifically but norwich fans go on like paul lambert moving was a crime. Also many contradict themselves, going on tv saying thank you for everything he's ever done then turning back on it saying he should've never left and he's a disappointment! At the end of the day its 2013 and managers don't stay at clubs for decades anymore.

Agree1 Disagree1

Villa are not out of the woods yet. We cannot guarantee that other teams will lose and we will win. The corner may be turned but I want to see another club below us to feel comfortable. It does not bother me who is below Villa but even though others are coming down, they are not down at this time. As the man says, because of the bitterness and the crap comments by some Canaries, most Villa supporters would enjoy seeing them down but Sunderland & Southampton would satisfy me.

Agree1 Disagree0

Norwich fans are not bitter about losing Lambert trust me, don't get me wrong he was an excellent manager and will do well for Villa if you stay up but I think Hughton has given us the stability we needed and I honestly think with Lambert this season Norwich would have gone down.

Agree1 Disagree1

Not bitter? Why are they constantly coming on this site wishing we go down because we stole their superb amazing manager that did so much to get them to their current status. You might not be bitter personally, but there are a lot of norwich fans that are and I sure hope that the divorce rate is low in norwich as clearly they don't take well to people leaving them!

Agree1 Disagree0

Haha intelligent response! Let's see how you get on with your 'superb amazing manager' when you are in the championship

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't really care who goes down, but I believe it will be Norwich, Sunderland and reading

Agree1 Disagree1

Just as much trouble. we have four points more than you and your abysmal goal difference is the same as having another point

Agree0 Disagree0

He has really turned your team around hasn't he, were abouts were you this time last year, oh that's right exactly in the same amount of turmoil that you are in now, groundhog season at village, what an improvement, thanks for the money for him

Agree1 Disagree0

Closer to the Canaries than last year. What does that say about Norwich?

Agree2 Disagree0

You won't be closer when we relegate you in May, can't wait. Oh the irony of sending lambert back where he belongs, the lower leagues.

Agree2 Disagree0

Interesting that you see how close you can get to us as a gauge to your success

What would everyone think to a new owner preferably one of them oil rich guys?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Are you asking in hope or you think ones coming. would be nice but don't wanna be the club that does a leeds or a man city

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love a rich owner but wouldn't spend silly money all at once and pay outrageous values and wages. But with more money we could have a better future and attract better players.

Agree2 Disagree0

Think the process that is being taken now is the best for villa for the know and the near future as it will put a strong base and structure for the future of the club maybr when this is acheived maybe we might see the purse strings open as we acheive better! upwards and onwards!

Hi, Liverpool supporter here in peace.

It looks as if my club are showing an interest in Weiman. Can you lot give me the lowdown on him & what you think his valuation is?

Cheers & good luck for the rest of the season (just not against us!)

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I would say he is worth 12 million. His best position this season is playing off the striker but can also play up front.

Agree1 Disagree1

Your not having him

Agree2 Disagree0

Dont want him to be honest. but thanks for the reply.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 million? are you insane? So he's as good as sturridge?

Agree1 Disagree0

He's not the same type of player as Sturridge, but yes he's worth the same amount. I'd pay a lot of money to keep him at villa, happily sell bent and not reinvest to keep him. Andi weimann will be a top goal scorer in 3 or 4 seasons. His finishing is frightening and if daniel Sturridge worked as hard as Andi did then maybe he would be better. But he doesn't.

Glad to see Gardner back in training. Great talent

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Quality player could of done with him this season.

Agree2 Disagree0

Goes up to 89 on fifa carrer mode if your intrested in that

24 Mar 2013 21:55:22
If we stay up:

Guzan Seigrist Marshall
Lowton Lichaj Herd
Olsson Stevens
Vlaar Clark Baker Wilson
Wijnaldum Albrighton
N'Zogbia Holman
Gardner Westwood Delph El Ahmadi Sylla
Benteke Weimann Guidetti Gabby Bowery

Believable3 Unbelievable1

24 Mar 2013 13:56:50
On the football rumours main page it is being said that Liverpool want Brad Guzan as a replacement for Pepe Reina. And they could also move for Ciaran Clark. Will this happen or is it just Liverpool fans dreaming

Believable1 Unbelievable4

23 Mar 2013 19:29:19
Next season villa will be once again stronger with the emergence of the youth stars who could play a key part in our season. With also Gary
Gardner back in to help out the midfield.
Get rid of Ireland and then we will have no money grabbers.
Also does anyone know if Stan Petrov will be back and available for next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Stan won't be back this is the last season of his contract and he's 33 34 by the time he can play again.

we still have
Makoun 60k a wk might go to rennes
Ireland 80k a wk
bent 90k a wk might go?
given 60k a wk
hutton 30k a wk might go to mallorca

and then we'll have no money grabbers BUT to keep Benteke/ weimnan they'll want more money

Agree0 Disagree0

All of them players above will probs leave. If we are paying Benteke and Weimann large amounts of money I wouldn't are because they deserve to be payed it and they always play well.

Agree0 Disagree1

The counter arguement to that is bent always played well until his wing service was sold being a last ball striker he only finishes goals he doesn't do any build up play other than to put it on his right foot

so we could argue if we get Sinclair there's an arguement to keep bent

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2013 09:50:13
Has anybody seen the figures st Sunderland 27 million loss
Martin oneil up to his usual tricks. he had been told he had to fight for transfer cash. will he walk again. Players on long expensive contracts at Sunderland.
When will they ever learn. can see villa over taking Sunderland and Sunderland in the bottom 3. Norwich were robbed

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Sunderlands remaining fixtures
man u home
chelsea away
newcastle away
everton home
villa away
stoke home
southampton home
tottenham away

not looking good for them?

I think when we face Sumderland it might be a relaxation decider.

I have just watched England play San Marino, I love to see teams get smashed 8-0.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Wow, that's really witty mate. I see what you did there. All of us who read this site should feel lucky that we are in the company of the new Oscar Wilde

Next season if we lose a important striker I think we should go for Gary Hooper. He is a good player and knows where the net is. Then can get Scott Sinclair on the cheap and he must be good because man city signed him. Then can achieve a higher finish.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Hooper is slow and fat, and performing well in the SPL is a million miles away from doing well in the EPL. Didn't you watch him in Celtics second leg with Juve, he was shocking.

Agree3 Disagree6

Why would he move from champions league football to us? no he wouldn't no chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Because the only good thing about playing for Celtic is champions league. The SPL isn't competitive Celtic will obviously win the league again. But the EPL is competitive.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2013 18:19:41
Weimann to norwich ha ha ha ha the silly season has started early

Believable2 Unbelievable3

They couldn't even afford him

Agree2 Disagree3

Steady on lads, it wasn't Norwich that started the rumour.

Agree3 Disagree0

Course we can, we'll have the 70 million on the new deal with sky that villa are going to miss out on, enjoy spending your parachute payments at the bargain basement

Agree3 Disagree3

And we would still atract better players than delias laughing STOCK

Agree2 Disagree3

Really, you should read today's transfer news yam yam

Agree2 Disagree0

70 million pound transfer budget? You should go after falcao with that budget! Rooney is an option too and maybe try and get yaya toure as well! Get real mate, this supposed £8.5 million deal is going to make you poor for the rest of the transfer window, and I doubt will be getting too much money from the sales of grant holt, john ruddy and robert snodgrass, you're talking £5m all together maybe! And half of that is going on deliahs next tv show!

Agree1 Disagree3

Haha you would dream of having Ruddy and Snodgrass at your village

Agree1 Disagree2

I wouldn't want either of them in my team! There just the best of a bad bunch! Watch your backs norwich, we're coming :)

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Mar 2013 20:32:21
Let's hopefully put this season away as a learning curve I have never thought we will go down so we can't have a complete overhaul again pre season we need to get rid of some moneygrabbers but we need a bit more in the squad to help some of these lads out it's not over yet but keep playing as we are doing are youth team and reserves are flying don't need to put pressure on them yet the future is claret and blue

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Need to get people like carruthers and grealish involved in the first team they r both good players. Then have to add some much needed experience in to the squad

Agree2 Disagree1

Was the origional post by Paul Lambert himself?

Agree3 Disagree0

Is that the same learning curve that you experienced last season and couldn't stop it's repetition, another groundhog season hey. lol

Agree2 Disagree1

19 Mar 2013 14:02:23
If we can stay up I think we should look at signing Adam le Fondre. If QPR go down then we should look at signing some of their players. We need width so we could sign junior hoilett and maybe Shaun wright-Phillips. Then we could bring loic Remy in if we lose benteke.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

So your plan is to sign players that couldn't keep those two teams in the premier league, in order to keep us in the premier league?

Agree10 Disagree2

If u add players in the positions we need then the team will become better overall. then the position we finish in will be higher.

Agree2 Disagree3

IF and IF we were to raid QPR I think a good idea would be to get Remy, Samba (if we could afford him), Boswinga, Park and Taarabt if the Sinclair doesn't come off

Agree1 Disagree2

No, no, no

Agree2 Disagree1

Look at the QPR squad they have so much quality all the way through it and if they had Harry all season they would be mid table.

and people turn their noses up at their players when half of them are highly rated and were playing champs league a season or 2 ago for top teams

Agree0 Disagree1

Huge wages, and Hughes isn't a bad coach

Agree3 Disagree0

Out al them players at qpr you named I would want remy and park only. samba too old and ain't looked solid since signing, boswinga same, taarabt since they returned to prem has played one good game in 4

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2013 17:47:03
Love the fact that villa are having to pay Ireland bag loads of money while he sits with the stiffs

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Name me one club in the prem that does not have passengers?

Agree9 Disagree0

But he is fleecing villa big style

Agree3 Disagree0

Will all come to a end soon and then there be no one fleecing villa at all ever!

up the villa!!!

Agree3 Disagree2

Every team has its driftwood least Villa have only got Ireland, Given, Makoun, Hutton, Dunne and Bent

Once their gone Villa will be better off and moaning about the next lot of driftwood only they'll be on lower wages.

Look at the Blues they have a full squad of driftwood

Agree3 Disagree0

The Blues are in a fight with the baggies, the carrot crunchers and the bar codes over the new olympic driftwood stadium, it is a well known fact that all of these clubs are pointless

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Mar 2013 23:10:25
Just a quick one for all those norwich fans that come on here to be bitter on a daily basis. You've been spending all your season basking in the glory of being above us in the table, but maybe you should open your eyes and have a look beneath you, we're only 4 points away and when we come to carrow rd and smash you like we did earlier on in the season it will only be 1, that's providing that you match all of our results of course, although you should be so lucky to do so!

Believable1 Unbelievable2

One thing we definitely won't match is your brilliant goal difference, so envious.

Agree3 Disagree1

Agreed, goals conceded has shown our squad for what it truly is. poor at best
Mendax

Agree4 Disagree0

Norwich goal difference is not very good either, 18 and it does look like the carrott crunchers are going down with the Reading

Agree2 Disagree2

Without the goal fests for chelsea and man city it would be about the same, but I guess when we stick 3 past them it won't be far off even!

Agree1 Disagree3

Y do Norwich fans come on here anyway haven't they got anything better to do with their lives?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ermm. I never said the above actually. (it's not even funny)
That said it 's largely hard to argue with
The only area where we do have real quality is up front
If we had the equivalent of Weimann and Benteke in midfield and defence we would be flying
Mendax

Agree1 Disagree2

The truth is that comparatively speaking Norwich, with the budget they have, have done spectacularly well. It will be difficult for them to keep it up of course, so it is understandable that they want to make the most of it while they can.
If we were in their position we would probably do the same. It wouldn't be any less tragic, sad or pathetic but it's probably what would happen
Mendax

Agree3 Disagree1

Thats football, we will all shout about our teams when we have the chance, at the start of the season some of you Villa fans were calling for Lambert's head, now most of you feel this is the turning point of the season, if you stay up, you will all be saying what a fantastic job Lambert has done with a young team, building for the future.
I am over Lambert leaving Norwich but will still visit this site and stick in the odd comment, this is a banter site after all.

Here's Villas remaining fixtures where does everyone think the 7-9 points villa need will come from

Liverpool H
Stoke A
Fulham H
Manchester United A
Sunderland H
Norwich A
Chelsea H
Wigan A

I predict Stoke and Fulham draw
and Sunderland, Nowich and Wigan wins

Believable2 Unbelievable2

We can't leave it to the last day to stay up because we won't be able to beat Wigan away

Liverpool and stoke draws, wins at Norwich, Sunderland and maybe Fulham

Just watching Villa v QPR on football first. Still empty seats in the stand that is viewed by the camera during most of the play and in the corners. When are Villa fans going to fully get behind their team?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

38, 594 turned up for the game with a capacity of 42, 788 I guess they were everywhere. the segregation between the 2 sets of fans, the corperate seats and the odd couple here and there.

i guess your club has a capacity of 100,000 and you have a sell out every game? or do you support norwich and have a 27, 220 and a average attendace of 26, 664 I guess I should also point out our min attendance is 2, 620 more than your max so far this season.

presuming your a norwich fan this is.

Agree2 Disagree2

Oops, just making a point but seem to have hit a nerve. thing is you can't sell all your tickets, is your ground too big for you or have you lost some die hard fans to the Baggies?

Agree1 Disagree3

Maybe they'll get sell outs when they drop into the championship and are forced to lower their ticket prices

Agree1 Disagree1

Who is this muppet? Its nothing to do with fans! Its to do with the economy, even arsenal don't sell out anymore! We filled every single seat in both stands behind the goal, as for the stand in the cameras view, half of it is corporate and press, the corners are expensive for a view of the corner flag and the top tier are bad seats cause of the height! can't moan at us for having a big stadium with a tall new stand, as apose to 4 wooden walls around a flat alotment in the countryside

Agree3 Disagree1

Don't rise to him mate. The poor lad is suffering from the terrible affliction known as "Bluenositis"
It makes you more interested in Villa than in your own club. Hopefully there will be a cure one day
Mendax

Agree2 Disagree1

Hit a nerve we still average more gates than our ONLY rivals Birmingham City, are you from one of those clubs that are obsessed with Villa!

We know what you are, we know what you are OBSESSED WITH VILLA THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE.

Agree2 Disagree0

38, 500 for villa, a team just above relegation, 36,000 for spurs, a team in the champions league places. Yet you still question our fans commitment? Our stadium has more seats than stamford bridge, so you'd expect one or two to be empty when you're having a bad time! Not to mention the fact that tickets aren't cheap for premier league teams in big cities!

Agree1 Disagree0

That really did hit a nerve, didn't it

Agree0 Disagree1

Proven wrong so resorting to saying 'i've really hit a nerve'? Such a shame

Agree1 Disagree0

Not wrong at all, we sell out on a weekly basis and could sell loads more, you can't. simples

Agree0 Disagree2

Ooooo, it still rankles then.

Agree0 Disagree2

God this is tiresome!

After today's win I think we need at least 9more points. We can beat Sunderland and Fulham. But where else r the points going to come from.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

In this division you can't predict where your points are going to come from. We could lose to Sunderland and then get another good result against the Red Scouse
Pointless to speculate
Mendax

Agree3 Disagree0

It looks like you are starting to do it the Lambert way, you score, we score, you score, we score, it makes for entertaning football although it takes its toll on the finger nails.

Agree2 Disagree0

I reckon we'll beat Sunderland, Wigan and draw to Stoke and Fulham

Anyone else hearing that we're changing shirt and kit sponsor again next season? - someone at my work canteen said the shirt will have a shoe lace collar and new sponsor is 'Bio Oil'

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Yeh apparently the new shirt sponsor is After Eight chocolate. lol

Maybe i'm being optimistic, but 2 seasons ago we were pretty much in this mess but we had a really strong finish to the season and ended up finishing top half. Right now we are only 6 points away from tenth place. If we get some form then 2 wins for us and two losses for sunderland/newcastle and norwich and they'd be in as much fear of the drop as us! 3 points from QPR and 3 points from sunderland and we might just make it, maybe scrape a point from a few top half teams as well and we'll be well on our way! I really hope it doesn't come down to the last game of the season because I don't particularly fancy us travelling to wigan and have to win to stay in the league! Utv

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Lets hope that they can replicate the Reading result against QPR this week. Then another win against Sunderland would lift us up the table. After all the carp that the duck from Norwich puts on our site we may go there level on points and might just put them in danger. The yellow belly will be confident with all the crowing that he has done all season but it may be that he is in love with PL and really wants him back. This of course will be denied, but it does seem that a certain amount of envy is apparent.

Agree5 Disagree1

Norwich will destroy you I'm afraid

Agree1 Disagree4

Sorry Norwich are so confident of beating a team who early in this season we've drawn 1-1 and beat them 4-1 when we were playing very spradic least now we appear to be maintaining some form with some good recent displays I reckon Villa will beat Norwich

Agree3 Disagree1

And let's not forget it was only 1 - 1 because we went down to ten men, look what happened when we had eleven men on the pitch in the Capital One Cup

Agree1 Disagree1

I am a Norwich fan, although I hate to admit it I do think Villa will come out on top when the two sides meet, the reason for this is Lambert will be desperate to stick one up Norwich, so motavating the players will be easy, Hughton will not give a sh#t as long as he gets a draw, the Norwich players will show to much respect to Lambert, and will be put off thier game, above all it is fact Norwich can't beat teams below them. PS. I still hope you get relegated.

Agree0 Disagree0

You were talking some sense right up until the 'p. s. '! A paragraph of honesty followed by a line of bitterness. However I disagree that it will just be because of the managers, our top three have all played for their countries and two still do, so I do believe we have more quality up the top! Although I am worried about the height norwich have, and the lack of corner defending ability we have

Agree2 Disagree0

Norwich have scored less than we have, so how will they destroy Villa? This guy is totally dim. Is he the duckd that keeps leaving silly comments on here? Shame for him. The norwich game will be a useless draw as both sides will cancell each other out. Some weeks back this waste of space was telling us that the Canaries were heading into Europe. I wonder if Delia could write a song for Bonny Tyler as that is the only way Norwich will have any input in Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

How could the worst scoring team, apart from QPR destroy anybody? The fat guy even fell over and then missed the pen in your previous game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Two very fortunate wins against Reading and QPR (villa out played in both games) and you think it's job done. 8 games yet to bury you.

Agree1 Disagree0

Out played in both games, despite having much more possesion in both? This is the problem with donuts that judge games based on who had more highlights on match of the day! I would stick my house and mrs on the fact that you only watched both games hightlights and not the full 90 mins!

Agree1 Disagree1

Two 'fortunate games' that we came out on top in. we managed to come through possibly our 2 biggest games of the season with 6 points the games will only get bigger and it seems the young lads have the heart to battle through! anyone on 33 points or less should still be worried, villa wining qpr's managers experiance and squad and wigans ability to win in the closing weeks should make it interesting.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Chelsea 8-0, the biggest defeat of any team in the entire five professional leagues this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

That was 4 months ago, the original statement was about the last two games.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think this is a case of people worried we are catching them up and they are getting worried so they have started clutching at straws picking faults with our team when they should be more concerned with their own team.

come on you lions!

The most frustrating element to this shocking season is that we actually play worse when we are winning. Reading were unlucky not to draw, VTID

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Good point
I think that when teams are forced to throw men forward against us, our incompetence defensively becomes even more apparent
We are like a 1/2 decent boxer with a glass chin. We can look OK for a while but the minute we take one on the kisser we are all over the place

If we can beat QPR on Saturday then we should be able to stay up. Played well against reading and we were in control for most if the game if we can keep doing that we will be ok.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

We need to defend better we seem to panic! but yes if we beat Qpr we may have turned the corner

Agree5 Disagree1

We played well? did we watch the same second half? for 35 mins reading looked a threat while we couldn't compete in the air at the back, track the runs in midfield or keep the ball for any period of play upfront, we were lucky second half reading couldn't finish. vlar needs to command the back not shy away from headers and the cm needs to follow the late runs in to the box in the middle of the park!

Agree2 Disagree4

Think it was Reading that were lucky we couldn't finish. Should have bagged at least two goals in the second half!

Ins:
Guidetti - Man City (Loan)

Outs:
Dunne (Free)
Given (2. 5M)

We have just gone 1 down to place. i'm living in aus watching you equalise against reading. From a leeds fan. Really hope you lot survive. Great manager and a hard working honest bunch of players
Good luck lads!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I honestly have faith in the the whole set up and given time it will come good,
our players are growing, learning experince and coming good! great result today next qpr for 3 more points!

up the villa!

Agree2 Disagree2

A point against qpr will be massive for us as we have a less experienced and talented starting 11, our energy can only get us so far, i'm seriously concerned about the threat of samba from anything, qpr should start him up top and play the long ball.

08 mar 2013 06:39:22
hope we play our football the way we have been lately and do not get our minds fixed on the drop, if we play the way we can we will avoid the drop, 3 points against reading will give the side a huge lift to get three from qpr and even liverpool after!

If it was'nt for you keeper you would be relegated by now, I guess the reason he is so good is, he gets plenty of practice.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Sunk without him, you would be at least minus 60 good by now, He will be moving to a bigger better club come the summer, Do you still honestly think you will stay up?

Agree3 Disagree2

We will stay up don't your cattle need sorting ohh arrh

Agree1 Disagree0

The Goalkeeper is a part of the team, he is doing his job, its like saying Manchester United would not be where they are without Fergie; We are in the bottom 3 surely there is enough in that fact to wind us up rather than an argument based on if buts and maybes. Whoever you support I am sure your fellow fans are cringeing at this post.

Hypothetical arguments and debates are pointless and your attempt at banter has left me one of your rivals embarrassed for you

Believable0 Unbelievable5

It is stupid that we have a problem with a defensive player with good experience in the spot he plays, and hat do we do loan him out

It's cause part of his visa application to play in england is he must learn english something he hasn't done hence can't get a visa and has to be loaned out

Agree0 Disagree0

I've noticed that when clark is captain, he has some of the worst performances of his career, but when vlaar is captain he has a half decent game! Think he spends more time worrying about everybody around him then what he's doing, he gets quite hypocritical! Baker deserves a place a lot more than clark in my opinion, he'll throw himself at any ball from a corner, at both ends of the pitch and if he's one on one with somebody, he'll do what he can to stop them. Cazorla's first goal just proved which one of them pair fights for the team more, because after baker made the block from behind clark he then ran straigh past him and threw himself at the ball to try and stop the goal! What did clark do? He stood there watching!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Clark is a weakness that should be eliminated. Another cock up another loss. Even an amatuer knows that if you are the last man u clear the ball, not f--- about with it. If we could see all the headed goals given away, I am sure you will see Clark looking at the ball. We seem to have got rid of Bannan but we must get rid of Clark. Come on PL look at the obvious, we have a back 4 problem and who is ever present in the back 4?

Agree3 Disagree0

Totally agree! Every corner that comes in, he is standing in no mans land and benteke is marking the player that clark should be, i'm fairly certain it should be the other way around, for one of man city's corners, benteke was marking yaya toure and who was clark marking? The edge of the 6 yard box! He's awful but I bet when vlaar is fit, if ever, he'll play 5 at the back or he'll push baker to left back, I really feel sorry for baker, he's a proper defender but he's constantly doing clark and bennetts jobs!

Agree0 Disagree0

Clark should be left as a sub. until he learns the right place to be as a defender. But who have we got to stick in the back in his place? I wouldn't mind a little bet that if we got Vlarr, Baker and thingame, you know, that bloke that plays for Ireland, came from Man. City, whatshis name. Got it Bunn, no sorry Dunn. Is he still on our books?Where is the latest signing Syllva? He could be useful at the back. Hard taclking and no prisoners, just what we now need before it is too late.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest i'd rather have derrick williams at centre back over clark! Everpresent in reserves and every time i've seen him he's been top class! Dunne is too old and too fat, think he'll be gone at the end of his contract

struggling to see how we are going to get 15m+ for benteke, scored 15 goals this season has pace and 3 years left on contract--on that basis weimann must be worth 10m+ too, ten goals just as quick few years left, tranfers are bloody stupid these days think we paid about right for him at 7m

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Benteke has scored 20 goals this season as he scored 5 in the belgium league before signing for villa on deadline day with 3 yrs left on his contract.

20+ goals a season strikers are worth a minimum of 15m to 30 plus

Weimann will get better and better but with him he was 18 months left so if he chooses to leave we'll have to swallow it and he'd leave for peanuts
