How much is Collins on a week?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

55k same as dunne and warnock

Agree0 Disagree1

Get rid of the 3, never been worth those wages

Agree1 Disagree0

How do you know his weekly pay? Supposition is dangerous. However what ever it is he is not worth more than about £5 weekly. Does it matter what some of the dross at VP are being paid? Some of them must go almost at any price regardless and be replaced with real footballers.

Agree3 Disagree0

Doctors and all the other people that save lives should be on 55k a week not a really un educated footballer that complains about their job, when frankly they have never done a propped days work in there lives.

hi sunderland fan here just asking what cuellars like as we supposedly in talks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cuellar was our best defender although constantly played out of position by MON and then houllier and mcliesh followed suit playing him out of position but he's best at centre half but will do a job well at right back to

Agree4 Disagree1

He can be brilliant or a total liability he thinks he's messi and ronaldO combined when he gets the ball at his feet

Agree5 Disagree0

Best defender at the club, not great on the ball, but a top centre back will be good signing for u, sorry to see him go

Thanks lads

Please Mr Lambert make some exciting signings! For example Tom ince, Adam Johnson, eljero Elia, Steven n'zonzi, wijnaldum, Nathan Redmond, Hugo rodallega, Kyle naughton, jolean lescott, victor Moses. Any of these players would improve our teAm! And add some excitement!!

Believable8 Unbelievable0

I dont agree with some of your names, however I do go along with your sentiments. There are not many exciting players at VP but last season excitement was banned from the pitch. {Ed043's Note -

Any news on Petrov?? Us at Norwich wish him well.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Stan undergoing intensive treatment, which we all hope will be a success.
Lambert has retained him as club captain. Maybe will see him grace villa park again but he faces a long battle

Agree3 Disagree2

Although i hope Petrov a speedy recovery he has 1 year left on his contract and has already announced his retirement he'll not play for Villa again sadly unless it's in a testamonial once well

Agree5 Disagree2

He hasn't retired

He's now out of hospital so fingers crossed things are looking good!

There's to much negativity, were not the richest club or the biggest but we've got great heart and pride! A few youngsters and a star signing to get the fans back on board is all we need. Villa till I die !

Believable4 Unbelievable1

What negativity i have not heard any since McRelegator left

Agree5 Disagree1

We got quality youngsters coming out off our arses we desprately need experience out field given, dunne and Collins are looking old and nobody can compete against age

Karim El Ahmadi is a great player. He was the best player of the Dutch competition this year. He was really the general (not floating) and 2,8 million Euro is really a bargain. He is worth much more so Villa has a lot of luck with this great player for a bargain.

El Ahmadi is a bit like Iniesta. He is a passmaster with with a lot of walking ability. only his long range shot is very weak like his 1 on 1 against the goalie.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

If El Ahmadi is so good why is he only 2.8m
Hmmm
I sense he's just another squad player coming in if he comes good fair enough

The Only truth about Aston Villa is we don't really know who PL will Buy, accept who the Majority would like to be sold, the rest is just speculation & fabrication.

My Out outs would be: Dunne-has reached his Medicare threshold which is less than average,Given=Cannot claim crosses, good shot stopper but reflexes worse than ever, even showed in Euro 2012 his no longer a top keeper;Warnock=Poor,Hutton=holiday rep fooballer,Nzogbia=have better youths such as Carruthers,
Delph & Albrighton=unimpressive would not get into any EPL top 7 side also showed cannot cope under pressure. To be argued by some but would consider selling Bent for £15million and get in Bas D & Balde both better all round players and cheaper on wages and they can both actually go past defenders and make things happen.

Wish list =Lindergaard/Phhilips/Ince/Hadaira/Balde/Debelle these are all affordable @Paul Lambert would also be able to stamp his own mark on the squad and give up until Jan to get the best out of the rest, he would also win over the minority who think the appointment was a compromise on 3rd best available after RM & OGS

On sky sports it says villa are close to signing karim el ahmadi for £2.2 million from a dutch team called feyenoord. A few hours later I look at his wiki page and its changed to joining villa.

Just thought I would share.

Villian92

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I could go on Wikpedia and change his club to Barcelona, it means nothing at the minute, but the signing looks to be happening anyway.

Exactly the sort of player we need, great first signing by Lambert if it goes through.

has everyone down at villa gone on their hols as theres not any sign of transfers at all, players are back in for pre-season soon, get your finger out paul and sign some. give us some blinking hope.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Calm down the transfer window is not open until the 1st July . So stop knocking the manager and the club. Villa have got there targets and I would guess they are working on them , but can't sign anyone yet. Yes man u have signed a player but he can't officially move until the 1st ....

Agree2 Disagree2

Over the last few years Villa have gone to sleep until the last minute of the transfer window closing. Some of the problems come from the fact that the great city of Birmingham, my city, does not have any glitz or glamour. What can be used to get a player from Malaga, Torino, Lyon, Munich etc. etc. to sell the city to them? If you had a choice of our city or Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow, London, where would you go? These cities advertise themselves as a place to be. The modern day footballer sees himself as a special person because he gets paid a fat wage. He doesn't earn it he gets paid it and he also expects to live in an upmarket area and there are few in and around the city. Unless Villa & 'City bring through players and win something the quality international players will not come to the Midlands. Unfortunately history has created a solid working class city that has provided the world with products that were in demand, but what is left in our city now? Even dear old Cadbury has moved much of its manufacturing base to Poland and is now owned by the bloody Yanks. Come on the great city of Birmingham, make our city stand out. Birmingham is the nations second city, not Manchester, not Glasgow nor any of the other claimants, make it happen. I LOVE MY CITY, DO YOU??

Agree4 Disagree2

The failure of anyone to reply, for or against this post, is an indication of the apathy that surrounds the city of Birmingham. There are some strong statements made but no response. We get in life what we deserve and this lack of reply shows that we deserve nothing. Where are your balls? We are not just wanting our club to move forward, we want our city to move forward. Yes the town centre is looking good but what about the area's away from the centre? They leave a lot to be desired and only the people can make it look better. Come on, show your passion. Slaughter the post or do something about it, NOW.

Agree1 Disagree1

What are you birmingham tourist information officer, talk about this football club not the state of birminghams area demise.

Agree1 Disagree1

I am born & bred in Birmingham and love the city, and AVFC. You are the only reply to my post. The problem with AVFC is the same as the city of Birmingham. Nobody from outside the city loves us! Apathy is the only word that keeps coming to mind!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2012 21:28:42
It's quite obvious the Villa need a new centre back, reply you're suggestions!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

SAMBA??

Agree3 Disagree1

Well we could go all out and try for kjaer, the Danish full back was on loan last season and reports are it did not gel at Roma on loan but I think he would relish a new challenge and all links seem to have dried up. If we do not try then we will never know.

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree he would be a good signing! But he's a centre half

Agree2 Disagree0

Samba is at Anzhi so he is probably on 80k a week, don't think he would leave that for Villa.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2012 17:41:42
I know its highly unlikely but i heard genaro gattuso could be going back to rangers if it works out. Surely they could not afford the wages even though hes free but we could do with a player of his experience although i also agree that we should be signing hungry younger players. The milner rumour is tripe he will be biding time to see if he can bag a champions league medal its why he moved in the first place. unless man city sign similar players this summer he ent goin no where.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Gattuso has signed for some club already

Villa have a really small squad do not sell anyone. Ed is there any really targets for villa x {Ed015's Note - Nothing yet.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

22 Jun 2012 12:56:30
Hi Ed, Is Grant Holt coming to Villa? Does a loan move for Lukaku look likely? Do Villa have to sell before they can buy? Many thanks - MarkC9 {Ed015's Note - Holt is still waiting to have discussions with Hughton, so this one could run and run, would not be surprised if Lukaku goes back to mainland Europe and as far as money being made available to Lambert, he has a lot to do with it , whatever the size.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not really ed we have some decent players in our squad who under the right manager can really perform for e.g nzogbia he was quality at wigan so we didn't by him s**t he just didn't play very well under mcleish's negative tactics and actually came out and said that he wasn't happy with the tactics so did ireland we have bent who under the right tactics will be better lichaj he's gonna get better wieman, carutthers, agbonlahor, gardner are all gonna be better under a better manager and tactics yeah admittedly he has a bit to do but not a huge amount really.

Agree0 Disagree1

22 Jun 2012 11:01:28
ed do you know anything about this striker from osasunsa called Balde who we've been linked with? {Ed001's Note - all I know about him, is that he has suffered greatly from injuries, which have hampered his career.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

19 Jun 2012 21:18:58
Just watching the game on ITV. Is it Villa playing in white? It looks very much as though Hodgson has adopted the Villa style of play. Poor passing, slow response, ineffective in front of goal. So glad Hodgson didn't come to AVFC!!

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Obviously not our old style of play as England got the job done. Probably not the best of performances but a win is a win and a loss is a mcleish special!

Agree7 Disagree0

To be fair a draw against an inferior opponent is very McCleish

Agree7 Disagree0

Hodgson and McLeish have similar tactics the only thing is, Hodgsons and McLeish's results are there for all to see. McLeish is a s**t manager and should never be allowed to manage another football team again. I hate the small heath but i would not wish him even on them

Agree2 Disagree2

We had a bad season with a weak squad, i am glad he is gone but lets not annilhilate him totally, wrong man for us at the wrong time. If we dont buy smart this summer we could kill Lamberts career too!

Agree5 Disagree1

Never a truer word spoken

Agree5 Disagree0

Do we think that Lambert is aware of the size of the problem he has inherited? It could hinder his approach and thus deminish his effetiveness.

Agree2 Disagree0

Look lads we have a good squad, the spine of our team wasnt playin for the second half of the season, any team would struggle, gaddy is a winger not a centre forward he was never going to get use a enough goals to take the pressure of,and the young lads still have a bit of learning to do,with a couple of quality signings i think we will get back into the top 6 this season, with the likes of; ADAMS,DEFOE,MOSSES,MILLNER,SAMBA,FIGOURA,and maybe even OWEN,thats only my opion.

Agree1 Disagree4

We aren't getting in the top 6 mate just grow up and be realistic, if lambert keeps us well clear of relegation I'll be happy, and gabby is not a winger he's a striker, in 3 seasons under o Neil he bagged an average of 14 goals in all comps not bad if you ask me. If we can finish closer to tenth than 17th I'll be happy, hopefully the younger lads step up, that's the only way we are getting back to top 6 by BUILDING a team not throwing together a load of over rated players and hoping they play (qpr)

Agree6 Disagree0

19 Jun 2012 17:14:39
Would love to see huddlestone, dos santos, hooper, parr, dann and defoe

Believable3 Unbelievable1

19 Jun 2012 14:38:16
Ok, maybe I was exaggerating when I said noble is better than carrick, but I still think carrick is overrated. Either way the post was originally about Adam, and the main point I was making was the fact that he will be staying at Liverpool, so it's pointless talking bout him. Rogers will keep him there, simple as.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

He has won countless trophies for a team he has played in regular. he is not over rated, you are just one of those clueless football fans who has no idea about what makes a decent player

Agree1 Disagree3

19 Jun 2012 13:04:33
i would like to see 7 or 8 changes to last years squad not all of them would start week in week out, but here it goes,,,,,dann ward naughton jarvis adam ince yak defoe, and one good hard tackling centre midfield maybe andrews or scott brown of celtic, what do you guys think

Believable0 Unbelievable4

If you are suggesting Keith Andrews you need to seek help, he is a league one player and should of stayed there. No movement, lack of tenacity, ineffective passing and a general lack of spark. There's a reason he is currently unemployed

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jun 2012 12:44:07
this talk of mcgeady coming i hope he stays where he is in from ireland myself support villa but watch alot if celtic aswell he was no good up there no good for the irish team either,he dosent know himself what he is going to do with the ball let alone anybody else, if the gates where left open in villa park he would run out threw them with the ball, honestly paul if there is anytruth in it please take my advise and leave him where he is

Believable5 Unbelievable0

18 Jun 2012 17:41:38
When pl took over I was more than pleased with the clubs decision, but I am a little dissappionted that there has been no movement on the transfer front,we have by far the weakest squad in the league and both west ham and qpr are making decent signings whilst we stand still either the list of transfers pl give the board are all at the euros or players have been contacted and have turned us down.
I've stuck by s given but he has looked very average during the tournament and maybe his age is finally creeping up on him and with no number 2 I think there would be 1 maybe 2 keepers coming in plus we need to make a decision on wether of not makoun can cut it because we need bite in mid field as we really struggled there when stan feel Ill.
Plus we need a senior striker to help or play along side bent as weiman is to inexperienced to rely on for the whole season.
Defensively we are really weak in all 4 positions and although I'd love to see the whole lined changed but this is unrealistic so I think Hutton and collins will go and young legs will be brought in either side of dunne

Believable2 Unbelievable1

We probably have signed some players but they cannot do anything until the 1st of July when the window opens, be patient

Agree1 Disagree1

Well as the transfer window is shut its a bit hard for us to start buying players, also its mid june and the players are on holiday so how can pl see what he has. I would rather we get in place a well structured scouting network and look into good quality buys rather than just take whats on offer or obvious just to show that were spending money. I have not overly heard many player rumours where I think yes good choice so I hope that with the euros going on and Lambert now getting to shop with more money than he has ever known he is planning and just taking his time to build. {Ed003's Note - The window is open now}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lerner wants players from the bargain basement and will not allow Lambert to spend freely, O'Neil made sure of that. We all know that freebies & Bosmans is where Lambert has to find his men. I think that some money, not bucket loads, will be spent but only on players that Lambert can guarantee will perform.

Agree2 Disagree0

Well it is open 1 july for signing of the players even if deals done

Agree0 Disagree0

You can sign talk to any player with up to a year left on their contract freely,or submit offers to clubs at any stage of a players contract provided you have gone through the correct channel,so i agree that we are starting slow whilst others are making moves and we need to not only bring in numbers but quality players withing our price range, pay structure and ambition and only pl and rl know these boundries

Agree0 Disagree0

We ll it looks like the first post maybe on the money another 3 excellent players we were linked to yesterday have all had bid s on them today, pogrebnyak, debauchy and v Moses early bird catches the worm and 2of the 3 clubs bidding in Chelsea and Newcastle have far superior squads in place already but are still looking to bring people in when we sit still

Agree0 Disagree0

Villa have never been public with there business so how do you know we haven't already got deals set in place? you don't, i don't and no body does apart from the people who deal with it all at villa and the other club so just be patient and lets see what starts to come out after the 1st july

Agree2 Disagree2

18 Jun 2012 15:41:05
Tom huddlestone to be in midfield with Ireland albrighton and bannan

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Huddlestone and ireland yes but albrighton and banahan aint good enough

Agree1 Disagree2

18 Jun 2012 15:33:01
it makes me laugh that norwich fans are still coming on here saying lambert is gonna do s**t for us and they have an even better manager! well good i'm happy for you but if you're not bothered why do you still feel the need to keep coming on villas page and talking about lambert?? i would have thought you would have been over it by now? obviously not!!

Believable8 Unbelievable1

18 Jun 2012 12:51:30
I doubt many if any signings will bedone before the end of euros, the scouts will be over there, so lambert won't be spending just yet, except maybe holt if he can wrap it up. Would love hoillet, naughton, samba, rodelleaga, a.johnson (if we get him it'll be loan). Need to sell dunne, Hutton, warnock. I'd keep hold of Ireland, Collins, n'zogbia, all quality when at there best, hope lambert can get best out of them again. Let's give delph more of a chance, would be good to see more from wiemann, and get more out of albrighton.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Delph is s**t

Agree0 Disagree5

Delph needs to learn self control, thats all. Many fans stating that we need bite in the midfield, well Delph is already there. I know that disagreement will be noted by others, but he has something that Villa want, he just needs to grow up. All good teams need a hard and a soft centre and going back many years Spurs of the 60's had it right Blanchflower & McKay and ManU have a sort of hard & soft with Carrick & Scholes. Put with the right partner Delph could be quite a good player, but who do you put with him?

Agree2 Disagree0

I'd play him and herd in deeper roles with Delph the one who can commit to forward movements, really talented player, got everything except like the previous fan stated self control, lack of strength. Send him to thy gym with gabby and you might see a centre mid like we haven't experienced before. People are welcome to disagree but the lad is young and needs to play to improve, at the start of the season he played every game and we won several, we stopped winning after he got injured, I'm not stating direct causation but it was part of the reason as we lacked a pacy centre mid who looks for slide rule passes and diagonal out balls.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jun 2012 18:35:17
if paul lambert has given the board a list of players he would like at the villa, why havent we brought anyone in yet,as usaull we will do our buying in august.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Again Lerner will want to wait and see what is available after some of the teams have bought players and then find that they have to sell to "make ends meet." I think that he believes bargains are to be had when other clubs find that they have overspent. Perhaps Lambert wants to see what he has already got at VP before he makes a final decision. We must remember that there are several youngsters and established players who might respond to a different approach to what they had last season. It would be great to see Gabby given a more exciting role where he can use his pace against defenders!!

Agree4 Disagree0

It's still early we'll prob start signing players once the euro's finish and there's already talk the Naughton deal is all done ready for personal terms

Is there anyone out there that thinks Lambert could buy very few players, but successfully motivate what is already on the books? There are several who should be encouraged to find alternative employement as soon as possible. The remainder just might decide to earn their massive pay by upping their perssonal games.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Depends who his backroom staff are, if he don't get Culverhouse and Karsa I can't see him being as good as he has been in the past,

Tom ince from Blackpool is a player we should do all we can to sign, quality young player

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Very true looks better than his old man would like to see him in a villa top

Agree8 Disagree0

Dreaming, he's got much bigger aspirations than villa

Agree2 Disagree5

HMMM Tom Ince is playing in the giddy heights of what league? for what team?
EXACTLY
Villa have always been good in signing stars for the future who use us a stepping stone to a top 4 club
And Villa have always been good at producing England players which team has provided the most England players again oh yeah its Villa.
So if Villa go for Ince he should snap their hand off as he would walk into our squad taking Nzogbia's place

Agree5 Disagree0

13 Jun 2012 17:17:03
need a whole new defence. naughton, douglas, dann and polsen my choices. also a striker (holt, pobrenyak, guidetti)

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Totally agree about the defence. More set piece goals conceded than any other team. More headed goals conceded than any other team. There does seem to be a trend here that needs to be corrected. We all know these facts, but where do we lay the blame? McCliesh cant be blamed for a pair of big centre halves failing to do there jobs so the culprits should be discharged.

Agree5 Disagree1

13 Jun 2012 16:32:16
Lambert is looking at Kyle Naughton of Spurs having taken him on loan last year.
Alan Hutton & Stephen Warnock could make way as Villa freshen up their defensive flanks with using Enda Stevens,Eric Lichaj & Kyle Naughton.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Thats if Lambert don't walk down to White Heart Lane, He Jumped to bloody soon, bet he's Kicking himself

Agree1 Disagree2

If he does jump ship which he would really lose a lot of respect for then we will just have harry simples!

Agree1 Disagree0

Interesting prospect. Lambert to Spuds might not work. The expectation at Spuds is Europe and Lambert is still an apprentice who will learn at VP before moving to a bigger club if villa fail to produce the goods.

Agree1 Disagree0

Lambert may not have been on Spurs list but I think he would have been wanted at Everton when Moyes is given Harry's job on Monday

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Jun 2012 16:21:16
Martin Laursen has resigned from his current manager's role in Danish league 2.
Rumour is Lambert is ready to install him as either Assistant manager or Reserve manager.
Leaving way for Villa to make an internal promotion to Laursen as Manager in the future if/when Lambert moves on.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Isn't he going to Swansea?

would like to see us have a look at daniel sturridge, think he would be a great signing playing just behind bent. hes could speed, power and that little bit of flair that we are lacking. cant see him getting much game time at chelsea due to their signings already. think we could get him for about 8-10 mill

11 Jun 2012 10:02:58
Here's my wish list.... That's all it is but not too unrealistic.... Pogrebniak, zaha, naughton and Adam Johnson also bring makoun bk and another CM... I feel this would stand us in good stead for a top 7-8 Finnish :-)

Using names linked and some perhaps optimistic imagination I would like to see the following signings...

DR Naughton(spuds) - 4m (figures are estimates)
DL Olsson (B'burn) - 3m
DC Dann (B'burn) 3m

DM Diame (free)
Andrews (free)
MC- Rakitic (7m)

Wing - Snodgrass (5m)

Pogrebnyak (free)

Dunne and Warnock can be shown the door and Gabby if we get a decent offer.

Thoughts??

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Not bad don't like Andrews or snodgrass but the rest are decent I think it's likely we'll end up with a team looking something like this

Green
Naughton
Dunne
Dann/Clark
Makoun

Agree0 Disagree1

Forget Naughton now, Redknapp gone, Moyes wanted him at Everton, so if Moyes goes to spuds he will keep him

Congratulations to Villa on the appointment of Paul Lambert as Manager, you have a bloke there who is very good at motivating players. Its a shame you wont be getting Culverhouse

Believable2 Unbelievable2

So whats culverhouse gonna do at norwich when C H has brought his own backroom staff, work with the reserves ha ha i don't think so ........

Agree2 Disagree0

Another know all. How do you know, are you Culverhouse?

Agree3 Disagree2

Him and Karsa are in the new look Norwich city back room team, it was the work of Ian that got the team back to back promotion, Lambert didn't have anything to do with training at all, Lambert would be first to admit its all down to Culverhouse, who will take over from Chris when he leaves.

There are several quality forwards available for free at present. If we went pay for play to Owen, he could be a good option. He scores the important goals, the ones we missed last season. Worth a go?

I like owen but i think their is as good shouts in .... probeynak , saha , yakaubu (pretty much next to nothing) , klasnic all these player will want less wage. saha would be better for me.

Agree1 Disagree3

Probeynak & The Yak could be useful. However who knows what Lambert wants. I am probably the only person who is not on Lamberts list of confidence's if other postings are to be believed.

Villa face backlash from premier league over tapping up of lambert.
This could cost us
Why doesnt lerner just pay off norwich with compo and they will go away.

Believable4 Unbelievable7

What indication that Lerner "tapped up " Lambert? There was so much talk before the end of the season and most of it came from the fans of both clubs and the press. If you look at "tapping up" then look at some of the transfers that go through. Fans were shouting that Man U were buying Young several months before he went. Was he "tapped up?" I do agree that Lerner should pay compo. but managers, just like you and me, should be allowed to find another employer when already employed under contract. Indeed that is were agents step in when they let it be known that someone is willing to move.

Agree4 Disagree0

We got accused of tapping up mcleish last year, dunno why any body would tap him up though, the bloke couldn't run a bath!

Agree4 Disagree0

Good point

Agree2 Disagree0

Almost worked old pal, any other season he would have succeeded and taken you down

Agree0 Disagree0

If you were at Carrow road when we showed you how to play football, Lambert, In his end of season speach to the fans gave all the indications that he would not be here next season, He was said to be with Petrov the week end before and your CEO was also present, now there is no way that could be proved or disproved so the ball is in your court so to speak, their are fans that could be very bitter and bear a grudge for a long time, Myself, believe it or not but I think we got the best deal out of this, and think Lambert will live to regret the sudden move, Now Redknapp gone from Spurs, meaning Moyes now top of list to replace him leaving Everton in need of a Boss would we have got Hughton? I think not, best of luck next season You'll need it

Paul Lambert has swapped the dugouts at Villa park so that the home team are closer to the Holte!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Thats OK if we are doing it well, however if as last season the results are not good, he may prefere a dugout somewhere in Afghanistan.

Agree5 Disagree1

Best place for lambert

Someone is bitter

Agree6 Disagree1

More canaries on this site than in an aviary!!

How u mean his moved the dugouts? what do you mean? as in pushed it further down near the holte?

also think we need to replace the plastic seats and get the recearo seats like man utd and newcastle

He is to use the away dugout. Why give them Recaro's? Dont make them more comfortable, plastic seats will suffice.

The names on Lamberts list are:

Adam Johnson
Ivan Rakitic
Grant Holt
Emmanuel Adebayor
Younes Kaboul
Mats Hummels

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Lambert should really not leave his list laying about!

Agree9 Disagree0

Mats Hummels lol he signed a 3 year contract at bros. drotmund

Agree5 Disagree0

Another person posting about what they know absolutely naff all. Nobody knows except Lambert and Lerner the players he would like to see at VP. Adebayor, dont give me a laugh. H ewants so much money according to the press that Villa would have to get rid of 6 players just to pay him. Cant see Kaboul leaving spuds as they are vastly superior to Villa. Get real, dont dream, it makes you look like a proper tas-er.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

A johnson is s**t saha, klasnic or rodeallga would all be better, there is no way we could get rid of 3 of the back 4 in one hit maybe 2 will go but who would we bring in.
noughton, simpson, figaroua, dann, johnson are the only half decent defenders available on the cheap

Agree3 Disagree5

He means man city's jonhson

Since lambert has been in place, he's drawn up his targets and plans to move quickly for them.

Gk, to serve as back up to given, Jack Butland.

RB, he's going to stick with hutton and Lichaj

CB, Colins is on his way out to possibly Swansea, or West ham. In coming will be mulgrew from celtic and bassong on loan from spurs.

LB, With the signing of Mulgrew he can also play in this position, Allowing stevens to go out on loan.

RW, He is going to stick with Albrighton and N'Zogbia (As it is his fav position to play)

CM, Bridcutt is being targeted for one for the future, we're also looking at bringing in Muntari or Barnetta on a free, but wages are being a problem for both, Diame is also another potential target to add height to our small midfield and lastly . Makoun looks to be on his way out with clubs in turkey said to be chasing his signature.

LW, We're targeting Adam Johnson as our big signing, with moses also being looked at. There's also talk of putting Gabby there and keeping him there.

ST, Rodallega is being eyed up as he's on a free, with yakubu also being brought in for a knock down price of £1 Million. From this position we'll be moving on delfouneso who's signaled he'd like to leave on a permanent deal.

Possible Villa team next season.

GK's, Given, Butland, Siegrist.

RB's, Hutton & Lichaj

CB's, Dunne, Clarke, Bassong, Mulgrew, Williams.

LB's Warnock & Mulgrew.

RW's, Albrighton & N'Zogbia

CM's, Ireland, Bannan, Gardner, Diame, Herd, Bridcutt Muntari or Barnetta, & Petrov (Depending on if he decides to stay on) If not another signing may be made.

LW's, Agbonlahor, Johnson or Moses.

ST's, Bent, Weimann, Rodallega & Yakubu

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Unless Warnock improves 1000% I don't think Lambert will tolerate him. In my opinion we need two decent full backs, a decent centre back, an attacking midfield playmaker and a second striker. Personnally, I have faith that Lambert will draft in/lick into shape the right combination of players, whether they be on frees, loans, existing squad members or new signings

Agree2 Disagree0

Makoun will stay, youve left out hollman who has already signed plus kello(gk)deal is on the cards.every club with a bit of common sense will be in for rodeallga and diame on frees so its very unlikley we ll get either plus i think warnock and gabby will be on their way out

Agree2 Disagree1

Another crystal ball in action. How do you know what Lambert has been doing for the last few days. I think that you are day dreaming again. Not saying that you are wrong but I am saying that you dont really know anything.

Agree4 Disagree0

I feel sorry for Warnock, he is a solid no nonsense defender who always throws himself at everything. But he's too slow and made some calamitous mistakes last season. Probably best if he moves on though and Stevens get a shot.

Agree4 Disagree0

That squad looks good enough for one thing

I know Lamberts gotta be unveiled yet but come on villa. We NEED signings....... Holt first priority since west ham are closing in?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Holt is not a priority as the paper talk is just that.
He is only worth 3m and any more would be a waste, all the free players need to be looked at and the squad studied then we will build in a logical way that will not see us panic and offer Beye standard players 50 grand a week. Just wait and have some faith that we have a manager to build us the team we want.

Why do villa always go for second best when it comes to players and managers. I doubt whether they will ever compete with the top half of the premiership? Never mind there's always the baggies!

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Villa have never been a top club in my lifetime, what makes some fans think we are. We are at best a poor premiership / decent championship side, a little bit like the Blues. Like it or lump it , it's the truth. {Ed007's Note - Why are you answering yourself, do you require medical help?}

Agree3 Disagree4

Breaking news:Mccleish turns down chance to manage baggies in a statment saying "I KNOW IM BAD BUT I AINT THAT BAD"??

Agree4 Disagree0

2 seasons ago villa were a top 6 club giving all the big clubs a tough game and villa park was a fortress this is all villa fans want is make villa park a fortress again and a top 10 finish

Agree2 Disagree0

Maybe I do require medical help following the Villa

Agree0 Disagree2

Hi, Blue nose here. Lucky lucky villa not to be relegated to where you belong last season. Never mind what's it like living in the shadow of the mighty baggies?

Agree2 Disagree2

I'll ask you the same question? what is it like living in the shadows of the so called mighty baggies? oh and us and wolves?? yes albion done better then us this season fair play to them it wasn't hard really but just because they finish above us for one season it doesn't make them bigger then villa when they have stayed in the prem more years then villa and finished above villa more times then villa have above them, won more cups and won the european cup then yes they will be a bigger club and we will be in their shadows but until then villa are still the bigger team by far!

Agree2 Disagree2

People, don't rise to the bait. There are clearly Birmingham and Albion fans on here trying to wind us all up. Never forget that both of those clubs define themselves by what we do or don't do rather than by their own achievements..ie the Baggies finish above us and they call it a good season. If we finished bottom and they finished a place above us it would still be a good season. Blues fans are even worse. They would happily accept a relegation from the league entirely if it meant we were relegated from the prem. Both these clubs know it and we should never forget it
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree1

Only way youll get top 6 again is with mon at the helm

Agree0 Disagree2

See what I mean. Another Bluenose on a fan site of his biggest rival talking about their team rather than his own
They are football equivalents of bunny boilers and they need psychiatric help I'm telling ya
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree1

The only team to win anything of note for years in this neck of the woods is the mighty Blues. Never forget, Blues go down, Blues go down, Blues go down together.

Most are free as their pay is excessive. Murphy could be a good signing,Klasnic, Owen, Rodeallga might not want too much. However Bosingwa, Kalou would both want mega bucks and we all know that Lerner is against this rype of pay. But I do agree that contact could be made to enquire about these players demands.

You obviously haven't watched the villa much this past season. Collins and Warnock !!! on the performances last season both are beyond their prime and need to go. As for Ireland, a handful of reasonable/good performances but he seriously needs to improve to command a regular spot ditto for N'Zogbia.

Lambert demands a high work rate and 110% effort from his teams maybe some of our existing squad will not be up for the challenge

Mr Lerner well done for getting rid of mcleish and possibly bringing in lambert who in my opinion is the next oneil but this time please look to back him with
keeping in mind all of oneils faults, just make sure we do not end up where we have been due to unnessary spending. Add to this squad and watch it devolpe in to a fine squad and do not fall in to the temptation of selling our best players. We need to keep them and add to them with better players if we are to get anywhere near champions leauge postions.

Hopefully thats where shall be in a few years!
