Sunderland now a man down for the last 3 games. What a shame.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Worry about your own team can't see you winning on Saturday will get nothing off Chelsea and will find it difficult getting anything off wigan if they need to stop up you need to worry about goal difference as I can't see Newcastle getting much in their last 3 games

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you follow football? Norwich are awful and getting worse and wigan are below us. In 2013 villa have beat every team around them, so how you can say with such confidence we will get nothing at norwich and wigan I have no idea!

Agree0 Disagree0

Villa only need to beat Norwich to have a better good & points than them. Already have better good than all teams below them. So many Norwich supportres bare a grudge about PL, frankly they have never changed their jobs for a better opportunity.

Any score predictions for the Norwich game? They have been pretty strong at home all season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

3-1 to Villa Benteke 2 and Weinman 1

Agree0 Disagree0

A Villa win by any margin will be enough to move above them. That will do for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

I see it being a draw 1-1 maybe try haven a very very good home recored think its like 28 out if 38 at home. I think big villa and Norwich will be happy with a draw if Swansea lose.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know we would both love to beat each other, its a tough call given our positions and all the history with Lambert, as you know anything can happen on the day. I have a serious question, would you take a draw?

Agree0 Disagree0

Would not be totally happy with a draw myself. We have momentum and we need to win. then we are 99% staying up. A draw would make for a very nervous last 2 games

Just had my monthly check on the norwich banter page to see what rubbish they've came up with lately and right away I see a post saying paul lambert is returning to norwich at the end of this season! they are in a dreamland bless them! If they're lucky he might buy every fan a lamboghini and take them to willy wonka's chocolate factory! You can tell they're jealous of what we are starting but they're too scared to admit it!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haha belive me mate a lot if Norwich fans have commented on that rumour lmao as a Norwich fan he's a ledgend here and respected for what he done but the board didn't trust him with the money that's why he left. But the thing is fans from all teams have persons don't mean all of us are. I love the game and love every single game win lose or draw. I enjoy watching every game not just Norwich. let's have a nice friendly game at weekend and hope wigan lose lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not jealous of what Lambert is doing for you, if you remember he did the same for us, I am dissapointed he did not stay for another season, if he had stayed and managed to keep us in the prem fair enough, job done, he could not take us any further. Give it a couple of years and he will probably move on from you, as for the comment on the NCFC page I don't know, it was not from a real Norwich Fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a generalisation, but you have to admit there are a few to many cookoo's on your banter page! And fair point about what lambert did with norwich, but he did that from league 1 and got as far as the prem, and literally could not go any further, we have the advantage of starting in the prem, this season it will probably be 16th/17th place, but then next season it will be higher, as will the 3rd year! If he takes us as far as back onto the europa league then its job done for him, but you have to think he'd want to stay and manage a team in europe, no disrespect to norwich, but he has to have some ambitions and norwich we're never going to be playing in europe let's be honest!

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem was not lambert the problem was the board way before lambert wanted to leave. Lambert requested money for his 4th year and they rejected then when villa come asking he left simple as. I don't think any team will make Europe unless they win the fa cup like Swansea. No way villa will make 5th spot. Also cash in on benteka next season think he will flop as people will mark him and he is not good enough if teams put 2 players on him

Agree0 Disagree0

No my point is norwich have gone as far as possible can and fair play to them, but villa were 6th for 3 seasons under MON and us to be close to relegation has only been a trend this season and a bit of last, we haven't left the league in longer than norwich have been formed. My point is that lambert took a league one side and made them premier league, but he could take an already prem team with bag loads of potential and history and turn them back into a force again. As for benteke I agree that he's flop else where but only because he wouldn't be the main man, it doesn't matter who marks him, liverpool put carragher, johnson and lucas on him from goal kicks and he still ran them ragged!

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2013 04:52:04
If westay in the Premier League, do you think that Benteke will stay at VP? He seems happy enough but is he happy enough to stay?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nrwich fan here I think he will stay unless there a top 6 team or a team abroad offering 50k plus money always talks.

Agree0 Disagree0

For lambert to come out and say if we stay up benteke stays, I think its pretty much set in stone but if we do stay up and benteke is sold behind lamberts back I can see him walking, its looking like we will stay up after todays win against the canaries, a couple of defenders a cb and a utility def needed a dm and another creative player and I think we will be sitting strong next season

God the media are more fickle than the fans! First we are so naive, we need experience, kids will get us relegated. I kid you not a web site were talking about what an example villa set and all clubs should buy young English talent and believe in a philosophy omg! Us villa fans have been telling you lot this all season! People raving on about the Beast but for me player if the season is Matt Lowton!

Dave80

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For me its Westwood and Syilla deserves a mention

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with lowton, looked shaky at first but with each game he has improved. His distribution is far more consistent than Huttons was and he can defend as well to be fair to him. Great but. Although benteke and westwood defo run him close and then there's weimann. At least some of our young players have really stepped up, it's a shame the likes of bannan, Clark and Bennett weren't as consistent

Lambert's Signings who's your pick of the best with the exception of Benteke

Vlaar 3m (Solid defender)

Lowton 2.5m (gets better every game)

Westwood 2.5m ( exceptional pass completion rate)

Syilla 1. 25m (the steel we've been lacking in midfield)

Bennett 2.5m (after a serious of mistakes improving)

Guzan free (been cemennted between the sticks since resigning)

KEA 3m (for me plays in fads)

Holman 2.5m ( has exceptional workrate if only his pass/cross was as good)

Bowery 2m (has shown some flickers of what to expect from him)

who would your pick be mine is Westwood

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lowton, can attack as good as any modern day full back in the game but unlike a lot, he's exceptional at defending as well! can't remember the last time he put a foot wrong, sylla and westwood both come close second, westwood is so calm on the ball and finds a man almost every time and sylla just presses and presses, never stops running, never stops winning the ball! All we've needed all season is for all of them to mature, get used to the pace, and learn to play with each other, our form in 2013 has been better than anybody's in the bottom half and last night showed how good things will become!

Agree0 Disagree0

Low ton for me, quality of the ball, goal of the season v stoke and great ball for Weiman v Sunderland!

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally can't rate any them. vlaar when fit has been a dodgy cb. westwood is showing promise but still long way off a prem player. they rest are just not looking like getting any better or good ebough for this level. only one I think is a stand out player in a bad season is lowton, at start looked bad and was looking like another hutton but last few months has really impressed and last night was even man of match for me

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't rate any of them? Clearly a troll.

Agree0 Disagree0

Westwood not prem quality? 97% pass rate!

Agree0 Disagree0

It's amazing what a 6-1 win can do, I have been looking back over this site and none of those quotes have been mentioned before.

Agree0 Disagree0

No not a troll at all. just made a spelling mistake. all we have heard from everyone on this site is how weak bannan and westwood are and they ain't good enough, he's had few good games suddenally you act like he's better than scholes

Agree0 Disagree0

If i'm honest, I check this page daily and all season people have had nothing but praise for westwood!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bannan is weak and to small but his skill on dead ball opportunities is emense

Who would everyone like to see take the 3rd relegation spot for me I'd want any of

Sunderland
(cause they've spent big and have an obnoxious manager)

Norwich
(just cause of the haters we've had on here)

Newcastle
(again spent big and think there better than they are)

As I have a soft spot for Wigan as they never have any money but manage to play good football and are always in this dog fight.
(dont get me wrong if it's between us and them on the last day it won't bother me that much but I'd prefer Norwich or Sunderland to go down)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For me its got to be newcastle. just feel they had a luck year last season and this year they back to being what you expect

Agree0 Disagree0

Toon fan in peace. We don't think we are better than everyone just the Mackems lol. Seriously, well played last night and if you care to visit any NUFC blog sites you'll see we are a pretty realistic lot.

Agree0 Disagree0

A Newcastle fan being realistic that's a laugh every time they lose a game they want to sack the manager and get rid of Ashley the man who saved them from going into admin. as a sunderland fan I would rather see wigan go down nothing against them but they always seem to be in the same position every season don't want the mags to go down as the derbys are class like going to sid james for a laugh don't want to see you lads go down although not a lambert fan I like what he is doing with villa getting a lot of youth in the team who look like they give their all for him only problem you might have will be the vultures looking to snap up some of the young lads benteke wieman lowton. anyway well done on last nights performance you deserved it looking really hungry and up for it good luck for the rest of the season and think you will get something at Norwich and wigan lads

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair to the geordies everytime any team loses no matter who to they want to sack the manager its normal to express disappointment like that. I can't stand the geordies either, look at all fans forums for all clubs and you will not see a lot of difference between them

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle fan in peace lads
well done, great result for you guys, you have threatened that performance for a while, and above us now.
as i've said on your forum before, I like Villa and had great crack with you lot when at Villa Park in the past.
hopefully we both survive so I can visit again.
i've nothing against any side, but i'd like Wigan to go down as I cannot see us picking up many more points, so the 5 point gap is crucial.
anyway well done lads, and most Geordies are very reslistic, we'll not mention the prat who hit the horse!

The six fingers from Norfolk, where are their posts now? I kind of hope Wigan don't lose on Wednesday we beat Norwich and then we an troll the hell out of their pages.

Dude some of us Norwich fans here was very impressed with villa and have never slagged villa off I hope you stay up. Kinda hope we draw and wigan lose be extra point each. But good

Superb performance by the entire Villa team. This was reward for all those games this season we have played well and got little out of the games.

Saturday is a massive day, when we beat Norwich this will take us to the magical 40 points and, though I hate to say it, Albion thrash Wigan it will pretty much be that we will be safe.

Come On Villa, a repeat performance at Carrot Road! Will settle for 4-1 as per Capital One win.

My hat goes off to paul lambert and our scouts! Not only have they found sheer quality, but they're found young hungry players with room for improvement! Matt lowton, benteke and sylla are the best buys for me! Up until january we had a real problem with closing people down, especially on the wings! but then sylla came in, and he presses people in ever corner of the pitch, and his strength and ability to win the ball amazes me! He'll be pressing the right back, then he'll be tackling the left wing! Its amazing how much he runs. He may not have to technical ability like some but he's strong, can turn a player easily and his lungs must be 4 of mine put together! Has anybody got the stats for distance covered last night? I'd be interested to see how far he ran! Overall great team performance, haven't played like that in 3 season! UTV

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't forget Westwood he has been a quality buy 2 never misses a pass or gets depossed

Agree0 Disagree0

And there's Lowton

Agree0 Disagree0

I mentioned lowton and westwood has been a quality buy too! We've bought so many different players from so many different teams that all do their job brilliantly!

Agree0 Disagree0

WEll ain't that just loving you baby. Stuffed the Mackams, now for a turkey ( sorry a canary) beat them 1-0 and we top them on points and GD. Where is the guy from Norwich that plagued our site? What did he say, 7 pts in front of us and heading for Europe? Now they could fall off the perch after we win on Saturday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Great performance Norwich fan here I think if wigan lose to Swansea that's it game over

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Apr 2013 01:02:34
Who is your man of the match?

my contenders

Syilla
(with his challenges controlling possession)

Delph
(same again great challenges to hold the centre and runs)
Lowton
(impressive work rate, interceptions and runs)

Benteke

(hat trick hero need I say more)

Bennett

(great work rate, no mistakes, good runs)

Westwood
(never misses a pass his pass completion rate must be up there with the likes of Pirlo)

For me it was Between Syilla, Delph and Lowton purely cause every time Sunderland tried something one of these three would deposes them

And i'd have to pick Syilla

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And all the people that moaned when we did not buy sissoko! sylla will be class and what did we pay and for how much per week! lambert and lerner are right we need players who want to play for the club and not think about there pockets! fair enough reward them for there efforts but they must earn it and I for one think this is the right road for us!

Agree0 Disagree0

100% agree 1. 25m well spent and 15k a week bargain let the Lambert reign continue and build a solid team
just need to strengthen the defense and add a lil width

Agree0 Disagree0

A cb and a lb, have albie, gards, and herd to comeback next season and 2 big signings to replace bent and ireland would give us 1 hell of a squad to get to the next level. but let's batter norwich first!!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Apr 2013 22:43:18
Well done Aston villa you were unreal you made us look crap but we are crap so there goes but well done. Sunderland fan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sunderland will be fine, but di canio had that coming! 35,000 fans and probably 11 players all hate his guts for what he did at swindon, that was payback in the sweetest possible way!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Apr 2013 22:00:56
Fantastic performance second half above the toon aswell now for the carrot crunchers still mr doomboy will find something to be negative about this well done lads lowton you are getting better every game and benteke who would wanna play against you

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well done villa tremendous we will both stay up onwards and upwards

Agree0 Disagree0

I can only see one result from the game on saturday, you could well end up with a mid table finish if you play like that in the next few games. Lambert has always been good at grinding out results against the teams around him, the down side if you finish the season on a high is if Moyes leaves Everton they may come calling.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert will stay for a couple of seasons yet, Moyes won't quit unless he's going to man utd

I see Villa beating Norwich to get the all important 40 points and Wigan as from the weekend Wigan play roughly every 4 days which will be a tall ask and we'll have them off the back of losing the final and losing to Arsenal where we'll already be safe

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Apr 2013 22:00:50
Superb! VTID

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm speechless after that.
(First time for everything I suppose)
Lowton was man of the match for me
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree0

Mendax I would like to apologise for saying I would settle for a point! Although maybe me being negative for once helped in some myserious way! I can't pick a man of the match, lowton was unreal, gabby was unstopable and taking the mick by the end and benteke got the hat-trick. Although i'm not bothered about man of the match, all I care about right now is us keeping that confidence in us, and playing like that for the rest of the season and next! I really believe that any of the lads that might have been looking for the exit door might have changed their minds tonight! Who would want to leave a team that can produce an atmosphere like that. You won't find that at a Manchester United game

Agree0 Disagree0

For me not only was Lowton brilliant but so was Syilla and Delph and don't forget the powerhouse that is Christian Benteke

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Apr 2013 16:28:04

Ron vlaar as captain saying he might have to leave if we get relegated don't help good job it's not going to happen

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Vlarr has hardly set the world alight, he should keep his mouth shut till the end of the season! VTID

Agree0 Disagree0

Attitude like that I say we look at shipping him off in summer then, don't want the sort of negativity around the young lads

Agree0 Disagree0

When did he say this as he's been bigging the team up ahead of tonight as well as accepting the team has performed below par this season

Agree0 Disagree0

He said it would put his world cup place at risk if he dropped a division tv

Agree0 Disagree0

The article you lot are talking about had no quotes from him. It's the media doing there job of stirring stuff up for the sake of it.

Need to get back to winnings way. A victory against Sunderland and we will be five points clear of Wigan. UTV! SOTC!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

100% agree and then were dragging newcastle into it as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Since new year we have accumulated 1 more point then wigan, it is so close to call but with a win tonight it will definatley put pressure on them along side newcastle and sunderland!

UP THE VILLA!!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Apr 2013 12:39:33
just reading through some of your posts you all need to wake up!win your next 3 games when was the last time yous won 3 in a row, I hope villa stay up and wigan and newcastle go down atleast villa and wigan know they are s**** but newcastle actually think they are a top 6 side?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not win the next 3, win 3 out of 4. Also when was the last time anybody in the bottom half won 3 in a row. Your comment is also made invalid by the fact that its more than possible to win 3 out of 4 because we did exactly that before the fulham game, beating QPR, reading and stoke and losing to liverpool. 3 of the teams we have to play are relegation candidates and one is chelsea, so its basically the same run of fixtures as the last time we won 3/4 games

Agree0 Disagree0

Win the next two and that should be enough. Three would be certain.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep. Especially with wigan and norwich's fixtures. I'll take a draw tomorrow though considering the form sunderland are in!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland are ostensibly a poor side who have managed to win 2 games in a row and you would take a draw?
Exactly which of our last 4 games would you want us to go for the win in then?
This is not the time for accepting the odd point. We have to win tomorrow
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but taking into consideration the fact they were completely awful, di canio has come in and beat newcastle 3-0 an everton 1-0, and for sunderland that's not exactly a little stroke of luck! If i'm totally honest i'm worried they'll smash us all over the park, hence why a point will suit me, as i'm fairly certain we will win at norwich and wigan. I'm all for optimism, before the man united game I was saying it silly going into games expecting to lose, but we do also have to be realistic, while 3 points would be brilliant, a point will still give us a hand and we can't be too distraught it we don't win!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2013 20:27:57
Sorry can't spell his name but Figueroa I think it is. Honduras left back at Wigan can play cb. We should sign on a free. Experienced and playable in two positions we struggle in and I read he is a free in summer

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's not bad, but if we don't want to be threatened with relegation then we need to look a lot higher than teams below us, wouldn't be bad cover on a free but i'd rather see randy dip his hand in his pockets to keep us in the prem!

Agree0 Disagree0

Happy days
Now come on Villa beat Sunderland and drag Newcastle into this dog fight

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2013 18:13:57
cant believe people have no faith. I think we can do this lads. QPR have READING tomorrow (one relagation spot sorted) 3 games against bottom end teams and a chelsea team 3 days before a europa league final (could see reserves played almost so maybe a draw) i'm very confident if we play to full form of staying up

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am sure that we can create a hostile arena for Monday night and a win would bring ourselves upto the Magpies.
Remember that di Canio indicated that we would go down when we beat Swindon. Take the game to him and make him eat his words. Then we could take the points at the cabbage patch and pull them into the mire while we move onto 40pts. There could be a shock coming for the Magpies. What is the favourite drink of the Geordies? Newcastle Down.

Agree0 Disagree0

And now with it down to the one relegation place and newcastle getting smashed the way they did (seriously helped us good wise) our fates in our own hands

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2013 17:00:20
Spurs have done us half a favour, just. But i'm more curious about norwich losing yet another game to yet another team in the relegation scrap. IF we take the 3 points from sunderland, I think norwich will be in a lot of trouble. Along with QPR and reading there a team anybody in the league would want to play, strange that, surely there's some sort of connection. Looks like a lot of norwich fans may have got a bit too excited a bit too soon. And simply because they always compare themselves to us, they once again failed to score against a team we put 3 past! Its really not looking good for them now is it? UTV

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its looking nice at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich always under preform against the poor teams, so you should be in for 3 points next week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich fan here it's not the players it's the manager. He has the team so defensive. Even a few norwich players have said they want to get forward more but the manager likes us to hold position. Well when a manager says that there's not going to be any attacking or goals. It's sad for me to say this that norwich could quite easly go down but so could villa Wigan Newcastle Sunderland. I think Wigan might have chewed off to much this time. I mean if norwich lose All there games Wigan still need 6 points to catch them. And if by magic norwich pick up a win anywhere think there safe. Aston villa should beat Sunderland but if they don't maybe villa heads will drop.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont Norwich always underperform regardless?

against sunderland my line up would be

guzan

lowton vlaar baker clarke
elmadhi
westwood delph

weiman benteke agbonlahor

?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd go with N'zogbia or Syilla instead of KEA

Agree0 Disagree0

KEA deserves to play improve the performance against untied on Monday.

Agree0 Disagree0

A mixture of united sitting back and el ahmadi coming on did put our foot in the door in the second half, arguable we out played them in the second half. His seasons been up and down really so I feel a bit sorry for him. I think all the players from holland are proving how hard it is to adjust to the premier league! Hopefully next season KEA and holman can improve the fitness massively as that seems to be the biggest problem. Hopefully then they can start learning to read the game better and start putting in the performances!

Agree0 Disagree0

Holman for me should get game time more than KEA as his workrate is second to none, Fitness is definately not an issue with him shot and pass accuracy might be an issue as he tends to rush them in his desire to impress

Agree0 Disagree0

Holmans work rate is high but his fitness is a big big problem for me! Yet to see him play for longer than 70 minutes, even when he's having brilliant games he gets taken off with 20 gone, I think that's why he hasn't started many games! He also needs to learn how to watch the ball because a few times i've seen him run in the completely wrong direction! Both can be very good players with some work

Agree0 Disagree0

The coppers have decided we get less tickets for Wigan is a disgrace depending on results I've got a ticket but plenty could have got one I shouldn't worry we will be there in force and who is doomboy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am the person that Oberon has called Doom boy. Why you may ask? Because I dared to comment that Villa will struggle to get the points to keep us up. I have named him Oberon as he is away with the fairies most of the time. , and is living in a fantasy land, no reality and no sense. Look through the postings and you will find Oberon slagging me off. Its a shame that we both support the same team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats because the Coppers know 3000 relegated fans will be easier to console than 5000 relegated fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's probably not to do with the police, Wigan have seen that you can't sell out home games so won't sell 5000 away tickets :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

If you did a bit of research you'd see that we have one of the best away followings in the league!

Hey Oberon, your friend "doom boy" See the immiediate post about stuffing the canaries etc and the replies. Makes you look a complete nutter. I POSTED THE QUESTION, look at what others are saying. Hey guys I can see us stuffing The mackams and the canairies, perhaps holding Chelsea and then a draw at Wigan will see us over the line. What do you think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wake up!

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally think we are down - we'll be lucky to get 2 points out our remaining games. 1 at Sunderland, 1 at Norwich 0 at Chelsea and if we have to get a result against wigan we are screwed.

Agree0 Disagree0

The key is beating Sunderland
Unless we do that we are probably down. Then again we could lose but still win away at Norwich and Wigan
One thing is certain. There will be some very strange and surprising results over the next 4 games
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree0

We missed our opportunity against Fulham to put some clear daylight between us and Wigan, whilst putting pressure on Stoke, Sunderland, Norwich, Newcastle. The scary thing is that the team we have is not fit for the Championship, those so called "Kids" will be scared to death. I love the Villa but have little hope of them returning to the Prem at the first time of asking. All we have is hope other teams lose, which in itself is a sad indightment. VTID

Agree0 Disagree0

Looking at the games with have left there is no reason we shouldn't take points from all them. when you think the 3 teams around us are beatable and chelsea few days after us have a europa league final (maybe they will rest big names if there's nought to gain from league)

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2013 17:57:22
If we beat Blunderland, we could move 6 points clear of Wigan, who face a reallly difficult task of Spurs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

But we wont

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh we will!! definatley along side norwich aswell!!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2013 17:56:20
we weren't expected to get anything yesterday nad we didn't. but the big big game is on Monday, win that and we put 2 teams down, and hopefully will keep us up

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Apr 2013 13:52:51
Why we didn't buy a good CM (Non of this we need experince rubbish, we just needed a quality CM ) in january for 12m is about to cost us 30m + so depressing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree that we don't need experience, an over payed player that won't run around and work his socks off? No thank you! If we can up the spending a little bit we can get somebody with a few years of top level experience but still room for improvement!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2013 08:18:27
Lets stay positive, before last night we'd all worked out how many points we needed and where they would come from and anything at united was probably not on anybody's predictions? Wigans game in hand is chelsea so the gap will stay at 3 points if we can beat sunderland (although di canio has inspired them), norwich (we all know that's more than possibly) and wigan who have been completely done over by the cup run! Them reaching the final could not be better for us as it really hurts if you're close to the bottom! We didn't play too bad in the second half last night and if can persie didn't score a hat-trick of offsides and the referee wasnt born in south manchester things might have been different! UTV

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wigans game in hand is against Swansea not Chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh my bad, but they've got a mid week against arsenal as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Wigan win on Saturday and pressure is straight on village in a game against one of the current form teams who will take the points. You will then be bottom 3 with three games to go. Going down. YES

Agree0 Disagree0

However we do have to play norwich and wigan, both winnable. 6 points from 4 games is more than wigan and norwich will achieve

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe so mate but you villa fans have a problem with Norwich big time maybe jealous I dunno but your 4 points away from us and you won't beat Sunderland and your right the only games you could get points are Norwich and wigan but there's a but my team Norwich are out if form we have been since we lost ruddy which is very strange as a keeper should not make a lot of diffrence but as soon as we got injuries with pilks ruddy tettey we have looked very avrage and there back. I belive Norwich are still in a relegation battle but if they survive Norwich will have no debts which is rare for a EPL team. Just think what a club with no debt can spend hmmm ricky van wolfswinkle for one :) let's just hope wigan lose all the games till they play you and we will be safe whatever happens. And don't expect big name signings in the summer lambert won't do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay a) I never have been, and never will be jealous of norwich! They're just a small club next to a half busy road. And b) wolfswinkle my not even be coming yet! And even if he does i'd honestly rather have benteke or weimann up front! I had absolutely no problem with norwich at first, in fact I was happy for them and kind of wishing them to do well. It was only when we got paul lambert and all the norwich fans flooded our page with abuse to the team, the manager and the fans that I turned on them! They can't seem to grasp the fact that in the 21st century managers do actually leave clubs for other clubs! Other alex ferguson, the manager united would be nothing without, every other manager moves on for new challanges and happiness. Its just like any other job! Anyway in all honesty neither of us will go down, however I do firmly believe we will beat wigan and norwich with ease, and yes sunderland are in from but so are we? Other than losing to united (which was inevitible) we've been winning all the important games like QPR, Reading, Stoke! WWLWDL is a better form than anybody around us!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree mate and I don't hate villa problem is Norwich have loyal fans who go week in week out to games and are so friendly sadly those people hardly ever come on here. I said lambert was leaving half way through the season as after 3 years he always moves on. I for one will be clapping him when you come and play us. Rvw is a done deal even if we are relegated he still comes the deal in the contract is relegation = loaned back to sporting. I think weimann will leave not to Norwich he will move to someone like Liverpool or something. Norwich need 4 more players like rvw profile to not be fighting relegation next year and I don't think they have 20-30m to spend on fees. let's just hope wigan lose against spurs and Swansea lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I think norwich wil be relegated, as I see a 3 way battle with wigan and villa, and norwich are the weakest link

Agree0 Disagree0

The outlook will be a lot clearer after this weekends fixtures, if wigan and Villa both lose and Norwich can get a point the relegation battle is between Wigan and Villa, if Villa and Wigan both win and Norwich lose it will open things up. My personal opinion is it will all be decided on the last day of the season between Wigan and Villa.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2013 07:10:43
okay had our day out, 3 offside goals against us but fair play to the champions! come on you villa 2 must win games and we are safe! come on you villa boys!!!!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Apr 2013 21:56:18
If you play as bad as you did tonight when you come to "Carrot Road" you will get beat, and that is saying something given our current form. You showed some real form tonight, relegation form. If Wigan win their game in hand have the young guns got what it takes to preform and get results under extreme pressure? the pressure of the Carling/FA Cups were too much for them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

LMFAO, GOODBY GOODBY YOUR LEAVING US GOODBY. say hello to the wolves and them bluenoses

Agree0 Disagree0

Taxi for Lambert!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the way that this poster tries to draw parallels between playing Man U at Old Trafford, and playing the Wurzels at Carrot Road. delusions of adequacy.

Agree0 Disagree0

HMMM it was Manchester United not Norwich or Sunderland or Wigan that's 9 very winnable points up for Villas grasp
That Vila will Beat Norwich and Wigan and either beat or draw with Sunderland

Agree0 Disagree0

You beat a team that is certain for releagtion on Saturday, your run is still dreadful and I expect Norwich not Wigan or Villa to be relegated. Stoke will beat you on Saturday and then we will beat you. Bye Bye Carrots

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha but what happens is norwich beat stoke Wigan beat spurs villa lose. Oh poo villa can't catch norwich.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it was as easy as 9 winable points from 3 games you would not be where you are.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its called form, like i've just said on a different post our form is WWLWDL which is better than anybody down there with us! Not to mention the loses were to liverpool and united (both teams that beat norwich 4-0 if my memory serves me right) and the draw was to fulham who are 10th? We've won every game against those around us and we will continue to do so, bar sunderland perhaps! They've been inspired, however somebody has to stop them!

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not a villa fan but believe norwich will go down, out of villa, wigan and norwich they are by far the worst I have seen this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha look at the table you muppet city are 7 points clear of Wigan and 4 clear of the yam yams, keep dreaming cause you sonny are in for one hell of a shock!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2013 21:25:53
one thing for certain we are s**** going down i'm afraid well done lambert you muppet. VILLA FORLIFE.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You wanted him, now man up and live with it

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert is still the man to make villa a force again. Can't remember the last villa manager with an eye for a player without paying a ridiculous price for them. It's going to be close but we will stay up. Wigan have 5 games in a 2 week period as well as the fa cup, I think will be to much for them. For all you Norwich fans hating; time to move on, we all know lambert is a good manager but so is hougton and he will do a very good job for you.

Agree0 Disagree0

IT was F**king MAN U grow up we was never going to win that game but we have 3 very winnable games Sunderland, Norwich, and a direct shoot out with Wigan on the last game

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we did and I have faith we'll take 9 points out of our remaining matches
and stay up

Agree0 Disagree0

34 points from 34 games, now 9 points from 4 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Games are running out, pressure is building up, lamberts looking nervous, team full of inexperienced youngsters. not looking promising is it?

Waiting for mr doom boy supposed villa fan to come on here with another negative post what a bluenose he is

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi dipstick, " doom boy" here. Told you before that I am a pure Villa man but I have reallity in mind. I want to see Villa win the league again, I saw them last time. The European Cup, thg 57 FA cup, League cups, been to all the finals. How old are you. Thought so a mere child with no sense. One day you will get real and cease trying to insult people who are vastly superior to your limited ability. Wake up and smell the air around you. It must smell very bad if you keep doubting others.

Agree0 Disagree0

I find it difficult to understand why someone who must be pushing 60 (assuming you were at least 4 years old in 1957) would call themselves "doom boy"? the use of the word "cease" does not make you sound older, it fdoes however make you sound like a fifa playing teen with a thesaurus (its like a dictionary but with different words), or perhaps "doom boy" is an ironic nickname from your days fighting in the crimea?
anyway, I reckon we are going to stay up but I will prob have at least 4 heart attacks before the final whistle goes against wigan. I have supported villa since 1985 when my dad took me when I was six, don't really remember much about the game but do remember being highly amused by the amount of swearing I heard and my dads futile attempts to take over it :)
villa forever and if we do go down see you all back at villa park next year to cheer on the lads again

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good post this fella comes on here and just has nothing positive to say about the team and doomboy seems to be a good name for him defo got to be a nose

Agree0 Disagree0

Doom boy was given to me by a dipstick that has no reality. He or perhaps she, believes in fairies. I am in fact nearer 75 and fit as a fiddle and have watched Villa for almost all of that time. Instead of cease I will use "stop" as you clearly understand English. As you will be able to see, my loyalty to Villa is unquestionable. 1985, you haven't even served your time. I really hope that we win all the remaining games and stay in the prem. However, at present we are going to have to rely on other teams losing. That is the simple truth of the matter, and if you are unable to accept that fact then not only are you naive you are stupid. I do love a good argument. Keep going.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was also there in 1874 when villa were formed mcdoomboy

Agree0 Disagree0

Just looked at this post doomboy and seems to me your more interested in making up stories about your romance with villa I personally think walter Mitty would be a better name for someone like you who seems never to say anything positive about the team so even in your fantasy world that you've seen villa everywhere why would we want a fan like you get ready to clean your skateboard this sites for proper villa fans nose

Agree0 Disagree0

Doom boy are you posing an philosophical debate by suggesting someone "has no reality"? terrifying concept but cetainly interesting. Served my time? Do you really see your support of villa as a prison sentance? i'm afraid its hardly a good arguement as your using matchsticks for your foundations. I do understand english but was suggesting that your use of certain words or phrases is simply to make yourself seem like a titan of intellect (vastly superior to your limited ability?) when in fact anyone of the generation you claim to be from wouldn't talk like that due to the social climate they grew up in. People of your supposed age are generally (apologies I know it is a generalisation and dom boy could be the exception to the rule) more appreciative of what they have and less derogatory (sorry spelling) of other people. i'm sorry dome boy but I do not believe for one second you are older than about 17 (physically of course) mentally is anyones guess.
as for having some reality of my own, if we win all of our remaining games we will most likely stay up, if we lose them all we will go down and there are many combinations of results that can save or sink us and that is the reality of the situation but your support of the villa cannot be questioned especially with your positivity about our chances of survival on this site. oh erm hang on a moment, derp

Agree0 Disagree0

So sorry to disagree. People of my generation see what has gone before and see the wasters inlife now ruining everything. If this includes you then perhaps you are a cause of the problems. AS for the reality. anyone that thinks WE/VILLA are safe must be missing the plot. But that is where we came in!

Agree0 Disagree0

Apr 2013 21:25:33
Need to go out tomorrow and ruin the party get a win and we can relegate QPR and Reading. Then we are also 6 points clear of Wigan.

UTV!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haha. you wish. Get ready to be mullered.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not every team wins every match. Better to be positive, if everybody went there tonight expecting to lose we will. There's no place for negativity in football!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to see us do it remember we always outplay them for the majority of the game its a case of getting 2 up and shutting shop instead of continued attacking although I feel we've improved loads since the last time we played united

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2013 17:39:39
If Man U win us tomorrow they win the league
So they will be at their very best and I don't think the defence will cope with Rooney or RVP to be honest

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Man Utd will want the glory in front of their fans, they will not be content with a 1-0, they will want to win in style, if you can manage to postpone their party you deserve to stay in the league. Norwich Fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2013 19:04:21
Would anybody else want andros Townsend from spurs? Would be cracking player for creativity and width

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Need somebody like him would love to have him and ince on the wings delivering for benteke and maybe Remy.

Agree0 Disagree0

People ho realise Remy is 90k a week we can only afford him if Bent goes

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't afford Remy regardless of if Bent goes. Lambert doesn't like to have players on massive wages compared to other players. How would Benteke feel if we got Remy on 80-90k while Benteke is on less than 30k a week?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2013 18:33:15
So being a villa fan I'm now worried. I guess we have to hope wigan Lose all there games I said I could see us getting results against Sunderland and Norwich. But with Sunderland and Norwich winning today they will have a lot of confidence and I'm kind of hoping Norwich beat stoke so when we play them there safe and might do us a favour. But we have man u and Chelsea which are basically loses. Then we have games vs Sunderland and Norwich who knows what can happen but if we lose them then last game will be intresting against wigan.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Last relegation place between Villa and Wigan :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Your the Doom man again. you are a bluenose, admit it.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no way Norwich will be doing you any favors I'm afraid

Agree0 Disagree0

Well in all fairness I can't see any club doing any favours as you put it, but I hope the ref does us all one and send Benteke off tomorrow night
He's your only chance of staying up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone is a fantasist with no idea about reality. People like you that ridicule others should look in the mirror to find the clown. I have been there, losing the last game of the season, winning the last game of the season, to survive. don't doubt fellow supporters who have lived through the s-i- times at VP. There is an old phrase that sums you up, it takes one to know one. Is that because you are the Bluenose.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't matter what the score is I'm villa but you think your the only one that has seen bad times at villa stop slagging the team off and find somebody else to support doom boy

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2013 11:33:39
Stoke have got QPR- could be points for Stoke from that one
Blunderland have got Everton- most they will get from that is a point
Wigan have West ham- they could sneak a win
Newcastle have West Brom- could win that one
Norwich vs Reading- Norwich should win.
Results could make us need something from a game we shouldn't even be in with a shout

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Some wrong but makes it harder for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wigan saved us with there result but all the other poor teams managed to win gutted here's hoping for a draw on Monday

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2013 14:28:40
Who would of foreseen west ham drawing to Man u maybe we can nick a draw on Monday fingers crossed

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You wish, get ready for a Fergie backlash. unlucky ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep the faith we always outplay Man u for 80mins we only have to do it for a extra 10 even if we sneak a draw that'll be something

Agree0 Disagree0

Almost certain to miss out at Utd so we must look for salvation elsewhere. A QPR win, the same for Reading, WEst Ham and the toffee's would mean that we would stay in the same place if we fail to get the victory. But if we get a draw then we will gain on every body. Do you really think that we could get a draw, let alone a win? Lord HaHa from Norwich can be discounted when he comments as we only want sensible thoughts not ridiculous bile pent up over the last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha. shame your prediction and reliance on other teams isn't going to plan. (bet you don't win very often at the bookies). QPR, Reading to go down with Village and Wigan to fight it out on the last day. not looking very hopeful for you :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

So the canaries scored today and just hung on at the end. Makes a change for you to witness a win. If I remember correctly you have been posting that canary town will relegate Villa. Shame your prediction isn't going to plan. Could be a demon of a game on your field, hope you are not too confident about thye result. Have they got the plough out yet to prepare the pitch. Never win at the bookies as I always go for a Norwich win.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's rich suggesting others comments should be discounted. look at your score predictions! Anything you say should be discounted also

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting to see how people misread comments. At no point is there a score prediction, just a comment on what would be great results. As for discount, 100% of your statements should be good for everyone.

Seems to me that we are more comfortable away from home playing counter-attacking footbal. The worry is our frailty in defence, especially from corners, means we have to score more than one goal.

Whilst, realistically, I do not expect anything out of the Man U game, you just never know! I can, however, see us going to Norwich and Wigan and getting a result.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You have a hard run in, your best chance of points are from Sunderland, Norwich and Wigan, these are all teams desperate for survival aswell, Chelsea are pushing for CL spot, the Manks will want to lift the title as soon as possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't write us off against chelsea either we've done it before

and before people say I know they've smashed us a few times but its possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Good chance for Rooney and RVP to get back into scoring again

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2013 11:58:39
6 points from 5 games beat sunderland and norwich and were safe?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

With our goals differnce I am not sure that 40 will be enough
The table is becoming very congested and we could need 41/42 to be certain
Mendax

Agree3 Disagree0

It would seem that the canaries could be a crucial match. Thier goal diff. at the moment is getting close to ours but we have MU & Chelsea, and they won't do us any favours. Sunderland is a vatal match but have they just got the right man to save them. I will settle for 1-0, 1-1 with Norwich and the same with Wigan. That would give 39 so we then need at least a point from the other two games. Who do you think will be the best chance to get the other point?

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich fan, would you take a point from the game on 4th May? it may well be a good result for both teams, after all the banter between us about who will win the game, and who will finish higher up the table, I had my money on Sunderland going down, let's be honest if they have found a new lease of life its squeaky bum time for us all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wigan will go down they have the hardest run with the cup final

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2013 15:40:05
Defensive reinforcement needed in summer as it shows currently letting leads slip since start of the season in the half time table. I would like:

Nedum Onouha (providing his wages are suitable)

Or

Winston Reid

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Both would not really improve our defence plus I think Onuoha is on fairly high wages.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

13 Apr 2013 20:19:40
solid performance against fulham, but it showed that bar N'zogbia we really lack flair players, in the summer I think we should splash out on a creative playmaker with a bit of flair, would spend 10-15 mill

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Villa missed gabby a fact

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Apr 2013 17:58:00
Disappointing result today as we needed the win, played well but missed out. Utd game now is crucial not only for points but goal difference. We need the Magies to thump thier neighbours. Canaries lost and that is good. Reading get a point, Rangers look doomed. Are the bottom two now in place? One place to go, Wigan, Stoke, S'land, Norwich and us. What do we expect, it is very close. We have Sunderland, Norwich and Wigan, and they need the points. I am not confident.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

You must be a bluenose with comments like that prob don't now where villa park is fool

Agree2 Disagree3

QPR and Reading are defiantly going down. The last place is the hardest to pick. I don't think it will be us. I think that it might be Wigan at last. They have survived just in the last couple of seasons. They had a hard run in so I don't think that they will survived. It will probably be Sunderland though. They have the hardest run in out of everybody. Also they appointed Di Canio who won't be able to cut it in the premier league. So I think that the bottom three will be Sunderland, Reading and qpr.

Agree0 Disagree2

Sunderland and Wigan pal both getting the last place wouldn't like to be behind you at mcdonalds drive threw could be a long wait

Agree0 Disagree0

In reply to the poster that suggested I was a bluenose. Wake up, smell the air around you. I have been a Villa man for more years than you can remember. Engage your brain cell before you make rash statements. To the other clever clown that questioned my judgement, also turn your brain on. The result today is evidence that we are not out of the woods, Sunderland will not be a forgone conclusion at VP. Norwich and Wigan away, again not easy. Man. U & Chelsea, I know you think we will win both games. Do me a favour.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope the players don't come on here to see your comments negative to the max you got to be a bluenose pal

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I rate mertens, would love him to come to villa but i'm affraid to say he's better than that.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like to see N'zogbia sustain the form he had at xmas Jan

for me it would be nice to see a milner type player come in versatile, a scrapper, high work rate and holds the ball up

Although I like the look of Syilla

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2013 08:51:10
If we assume that QPR and Reading will be relegated; who do you think will join them, and why?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Personally I think sunderland, although stoke and norwich ought to be careful. Us, wigan, southampton and newcastle are all winning our games, especially against those around us. Stoke and norwich play boring football and it will come back to haunt them! They've spent all season playing for draws and you just can't get away with that when the bottom 10 is as close as it is

Agree1 Disagree2

I think qpr and reading and the last spot could be anyone I'm not going to dig up out team because anything could happen. It's so close the problem I have is If Norwich Southampton Newcastle stoke pick up a win and wigan us and Sunderland don't it will be between us 3. Norwich have us reading and WBA which are 2-3 winnable games at home. I think it will be sunderland. But there's always a shock Norwich might beat arsenal away and then you have to say there safe.

Agree2 Disagree0

I would like it too be Norwich so the Carrott Road faithful learn that a season is very long and very interchangeable. But I think it could be Sunderland, Stoke or Wigan. Stoke are nose diving and confidence will be at its lowest at the britannia than anywhere else my money is on them atm

Agree1 Disagree1

The bottom of the table this year is more exciting, this year I think it will go down to the wire,

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't want it to be Norwich I mean there's always words said between us and them but its just a little banter and fun to get the blood boiling. I think if Norwich go down it will be a big shame a club that's debt free and buying players like rvw is good for the league why should the top 6-8 teams get all the best players. Same as benteke he could go in 4 of the top 8 teams easy but why should they always have who they want. I think it's time for the villas Norwich and them teams to start getting players who can give the top 6-8 a good run for there money. Would it not be nice to have 10-12 teams able to win the EPL :) {Ed007's Note - Can I ask you why you post as both a Norwich AND a Villa fan? Are you ill?}

Agree1 Disagree1

Are you a liberal mp mr clown undecided who gets your support

Agree1 Disagree1

Hi Ed, This is probably the guy that sends stupid texts about how Canaries are going to relegate Villa. Now getting very worried about the descent of carrot crunchers towards the chumpionship. For all of his crowing I would like to see Norwich take the drop. The only good thing to come out of Norwich. The A11 back to civilisation.

Agree0 Disagree1

Not looking good for Carrot Road

Agree0 Disagree0

Looking at the run in of the teams battling to avoid the drop it doesn't look good for Village, predictions of beating Fulham at home coming to nothing, Man U and Chelsea to come. oh dear

i think villa are doing well now as the team is more settled and lambert has found where best to play each player

guzan

lowton vlaar clarke baker

westwood delph

weimann nogbia agbonlahor

bentekke

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Cant agree with Clarke in the middle. Error strewn throughout the season.

Agree4 Disagree1

I prefer baker at centre back and bennett at left back, clark is shocking! And n'zogbia is silly every time he loses the ball he goes and fouls the man then goes missing for 20 minutes of a game, sylla in the midfield works better because he will just run at whoever is on the ball and presses high up the pitch, his work rate is great.

Agree2 Disagree0

Cant agree more Villa's defense is so much more solid when we play Vlaar and Baker as there willing to make the challenges were as Clark hesitates at times and then lunges in and makes stupid mistakes

According to the Daily Mail, Benteke wants to stay and has started talks over a new contract. It obviously depends on staying up, but he feels he needs to stay to get onto Belgium's WC squad. It would be a double your money deal.

I hope this is true

we will finish 13th!?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Probably more like 15th, 16th or 17th

Agree0 Disagree0

As long as it isn't 18th, 19th or 20th not that fussed.

This squad we be much better next season due to the experience. A couple of good signings in the summer to add steel to the midfield and defence plus a playmaker and we'll be a force again.

After all, we already have the best centre forward in the league and the best goalkeeper

Agree1 Disagree0

We won't finish 19th or 20th QPR and Reading are relegated whether they want to admit it or not

and 18th could be any of 5 teams and out of them were on the best form

Am I wrong or has Clark been missing for our last 4 games? Nothing against the guy but he makes awful errors (man City) and when you look at stills of goals conceded you will find Clark watching.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

He hasn't missed 4 games he's missed two liverpool and stoke

Agree1 Disagree0

Ok, but he still makes mistakes that cost us goals throughout the season

Agree2 Disagree0

Agreed, if you watch every corner we've conceded this season, 90% of the time clark isn't marking anybody (strange considering he's a CB and we play man marking) and instead he's pointed and shouting at everybody else in the box to do something! Baker is 10x better as he will throw himself at anything he can and he tackled hard but is still sensible and rarely gets into the book! and he's 2 years younger, I can't imagine what he'll be like with two more years of experience and constant game time.

Celtic fan here

Great result for you guys at the weekend! Hell of a goal from Lowton! can't believe he went for it from there but fair play to the lad!

Was always a big fan of Paul Lambert as a player, glad you are standing by him and not pressing the panic button like other clubs!

To be honest I have been quite impressed by Villas play! Individual mistakes are losing you goals but this will happen with young players!

Looked at your remaining fixtures and sure you will pick up the points required!

Good luck for rest of season

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Cheers mate! We all knew it was going to be a tough season, not only are we a very young team but most of them have never played along side each other. Our chances of survival are increasing with every game and we've probably got the easiest fixtures of all the bottom 10 teams. If we do survive it will be a learning curve, we can cut out the mistakes at the back and we'll win a lot of games when that happens! When a manager has a project it seems silly to sack him when you're not winning games. Good things come to those who wait!

Arsenal fan here,

Just wanted to ask your opinions on were you think Benteke is going to be playing football next season?

Would absolutely love the guy at Arsenal of course, but is he loyal to vila? any noises about this in the stands at matches?

cheers, and goodluck for the rest of the season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He'll see out his contract I think. If I was managing a big club I wouldn't take a risk on him just yet, its his first season, defences don't know what to expect, I think its best for everybody involved to see how he does next season and get another years experience in this league, there's a big risk that players like this will be a one season wonder so to me it makes sense to give him another year here or even his conract!

Agree1 Disagree0

Benteke will be at Villa Park next season. That is unless someone comes up with an offer of £30m. Know its a lot, but that is the only way Lerner will let him go.

Agree0 Disagree0

As i've just said on the rumours page benteke is now set for a new contract for 40k a week but only if we stay in the premier league

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert will decide if Benteke or any other player is to leave, if your board decide to cash in on players without approval from Lambert you will be looking for a new manager, he won't stand for it, and move on himself.

Talking of next year and potential widemen. I've mentioned Sinclair and Phillips, but how about getting Townsend, he has been a revelation for QPR - just watching him in this game, don't see that Sinclair is any better.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

He'll be playing for spurs next season, would love him though!

Rate this guy, runs at people with the ball and is not afraid to have a dig at goal.

Great result today, couldn't be there. Had to decorate the bedroom as the wife said that I have been doing it for 6 months. We should be able to get the 2 wins needed now and not have to rely on beating the the country clowns who keep coming on our site. However we should give them a spanking on the cabbage field they call carrot patch. Lambert said believe. I do, do you?

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Oh dear, once again we've closed the gap between us and norwich, being 2 points behind them should shut them up for a while, doubt they're looking forward to playing us now! Come on you villa boys let's keep this going. UTV!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Two points but you'll need three with your abysmal goal difference and six when we do you at the cathedral of football

Agree0 Disagree2

You are dreaming sunbeam. You were boasting about Europe and being 7 points above Villa. Now 2 points and in the relegation fight. You just might be thinking that you could get done over at the cabbage patch. Look at the table and you will see that only 6 teams have scored more goals away from home than Villa and only 3 teams have scored less at home than the canaries. Chances are that you may score (16 goals in 18) but Villa might score 1 more. Naivety is dangerous and believe me you are extremely naive.
I look forward to scrambling your eggs on the 4th.

Agree3 Disagree0

I'm a Norwich fan but I have to disagree I don't run teams or fans down but this year I have never seen a table like this one noone is safe from 10th spot it's so so close one week you jump an another you fall crazy year. I would not be surprised if it gos to the final games this year.

Agree4 Disagree0

Villa will beat Norwich hands down this is the best form we've had all season and we've aleady beat them having already done them 4-1 and drew 1-1 when we were struggling

Agree1 Disagree0

Fair play to the few norwich fans that come on here and talk sense! You've got to be realistic in football, that's why I think there's going to be a few norwich fans feeling like right persons come mid may. Some people need to get out of dreamland and stick their feet back on the ground cause its going to come back to haunt you! If you go down, or even finish below us, then expect us to start biting back like you have all season long.

Agree2 Disagree0

Replying to the Canary that comments on the goal difference. Only one game is the diff. and that was the day that Chelsea decided to play properly. Without that we would be above the canaries on both points and diff. However when we turn up at the cabbage patch we will have to wear our home colours as your guys will only use the colour clash to bleat about being stuffed. Sorry pal, your cathedral could be falling down. Your canary will prove to be a turkey. Shame its not Xmas as all turkeys get stuffed for Xmas. OH OH OH.

Agree1 Disagree0

Interesting to read the Norwich site, calls for Hughton's head and worried contributors about their Premiership survival!

May 4th will be a massive game

Agree1 Disagree0

Norwich Fan, I hate to admit it but I think Villa will take the points on 4th May, Villa have turned the corner now, they are showing the attacking flair that Norwich had last year, the game when you beat QPR was the decisive game, had you lost it things may have been very different with a young side inexperienced side. If we do manage to turn you over on the 4th I will return to this site to gloat, I just can't see it happening.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Newcastle fan in peace
Great result today, well done lads.
A great club like Villa should be at the top of the table!
Hope Newcastle and Villa are safe at the end of the season as have had great banter with Villa fans when visiting Villa Park.

Spurs are reported by a web site that they are prepareing a bid of
£18. mil for Benteke, can't see Learner turning that kind of money down

Believable1 Unbelievable4

I can as he will score the same amount next season and be worth more! 35 mil?

Agree2 Disagree1

Benteke has said that he wants to stay at Aston villa so can't see anything happening. He should be worth more than £50 million because he scored more than Torres and he was brought for £50m so the same amount or more for benteke I say.

Agree1 Disagree2

Money talks, if Spurs offer 18million and double his wages he will be gone, anyone who thinks he will stay because he loves the club and wants to be part of the revival is deluded. There are only about 10 players in the prem who would put loyalty ahead of money and he is not one of them.

Agree0 Disagree1

Benteke is only on 20k a week

and Torres up until he signed for chelsea had been a 20 plus goal a season striker for 6 seasons

where as benteke has done it for 2 seasons

Agree1 Disagree0

Benteke is worth about 25m-30m

based on his goal ratio and age

Agree1 Disagree0

I think he will stay, randy turned down big offers for barry, young, downing etc. only reason he sold was that they were in last year of their contract. benteke will have 3 left so think he'll be here for the next 2

A lot of norwich fans seem to be misspelling norwich as aston villa and ending up on our page, and ironically, the closer to them we get the more dim-witted one eyed persons there are. I would of took criticism from any norwich fan before christmas but now they're in almost as much trouble as us. They ought to spend less time coming on our page to mock us an paul lambert and more time on preparing themselves for a bit of squeaky bum time when we beat them and they're fighting for their lives and trying desperately to get their strikers to stick the ball in the net! Watch your backs boys, you're not even halfway to safety yet! Come on you villa!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Norwich fan I agree mate if some Norwich fans would do what this sites for in supportin your club and come on here for rumours then maybe everyone would just have a good laugh. I personally hope Norwich and villa stay
Up if that means losing to villa long as we are safe then ill be happy I want qpr reading and Newcastle or Sunderland to go. I still like Paul lambert only problem is he has always left a club after 3 years. But good luck guys for the rest of season let's hope we can pull away from the bottom.

Are U-19s won the NextGen cup today. Doesn't matter what league we are in it looks like we might have a good future. Graham Burke scored both of the goals today could do with a exciting young striker coming through the ranks.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

We have the best kids in europe do we really need to look any further for signings and dedication?

The goals were penalties but yeah we certainly have a good team coming through if we can hold onto them

Am I alone in being appalled that Sunderland have appointed Di Canio as manager?
The man has a Mussolini tattoo on his arm, used to rejoice in giving Nazi/Roman salutes to the Ultra fans at Lazio and had this to say about "El Duce". "he was deeply misunderstood' and 'basically a very principled, ethical individual"
Sunderland need to take a look at themselves
It's not the fans fault but I would be embarrassed
Sunderland's last day fixture away at Tottenham could be interesting!
Mendax

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Nothing mentioned when he managed Swindon. why now??

Agree3 Disagree0

Personally, I did mention it but if you are talking generally it's a fair point. When, where and how vociferously it was mentioned before is hardly the point though is it?
It's no less wrong because people have negated to talk about the issue previously
You either think there is a problem with it or you don't
I happen to feel very uneasy about it
Mendax

Agree0 Disagree2

I personally think it was stupid to sack o'neill after a game he was never going to win and think given the remaining matches he would of kept them up just but for me Sunderland should of never sacked Bruce he built the majority of the squad and they'll pay now for o'neills signings as I bet there all on high wages

Agree2 Disagree0

I don't give a toss about O'Neill mate. It's the morality (or lack of) in appointing a fascist as his replacement that interests me
If I didn't think football had sold it's soul to the devil before, I certainly do now
