Lambert not good enough end of, had a good season at southampton then crashed a little like the Guestede story i'm affraid.

I just hope that we appoint Steve Bruce. He knows this league very well and will be able to inject some passion into the team. He will sort out our sloppy defending and the strikers will start firing again. I would feel very confident about at least reaching a play off position. I couldn't give a monkeys if he was once at the Blues. He will transform this team.

I agree with Mr. knowitall about enjoying our football now we have dropped down a league. We thought it was the end of the world when we went into the old 3rd. Division years ago but have happy memories of standing in a crowd of over 48,000 for a game against Bournemouth. A 3rd. Division record. Then the 1974-75 season in the 2nd
Divison was absolutely brilliant. We only lost one game at home and I was in a crowd of more than 57,000 for our final home game of that season. Great football. Fantastic atmosphere home and away. Does anyone remember our game at Blackpool that season when we took over the town for the weekend. Very happy days. Hope we can recreate it again this season.

46000 for a home game against Walsall and everywhere we played was sold out.
I can see this season being similar with us and Newcastle in the mix.
However enjoyable us fans find it though we MUST get back to the PL ASAP.

I was in the black pool crowd that day along with my wife to be. it is a memory that stays with you if you were there - every other car on the M6 was flying claret and blue colours. Had some great times in Div.3.

Plenty of rubbish in all the papers. All trying to discredit our new owner. Reminds me of when we won the league and Ipswich were the darlings of the media. We won the league and European Cup and then they all started sucking up to us. Let them write their daily tripe and let us hope we can make them eat their words.

Sorry mate but we don't want Southgate, McCarthy or any other manager of that class. We have had enough seasons of making do with second raters. We seem to have a decent Board now so let's hope they provide us with a manager to rebuild our beloved club. I think we deserve better than some of the names being mentioned in the press.

Ron Saunders was a class act. Remember the season we won the title, we played 14 games against 7 Midland teams and never lost a game. He made each player believe that they were the best in the world. Great memories.
