Alan Hutton is probably one of the worst footballers I have ever seen and he has the audacity to break up his move over personal terms you could have got yourself a nice suntan and sold timeshares you and bannan Ireland are greedy.. I've got nothing against given or bent but it would be nice to ship them out for their sake aswell and while there at it take clueless Faulkner with them he's got the capabilities to be the next Tory leader up the villa

Villamurf

1.) What did hutton do to you? Is Mrs. Villamurf now Mrs. Hutton?

2.) I have to say I find it a little strange that people are so vociferous with their "greedy" attacks on the likes of Hutton and Bannan
When Benteke was looking like he could go to Tottenham I was slaughtered for suggesting he should be forced to honour his contract
It was explained to me, quite vehemently, that if I was offered more money in a different job, I would be off as well (not true by the way)and it was perfectly acceptable for Benteke to want to go if that was the case
Using that logic, why on earth would you expect a player to take a drop to move from a club?
You can't havfe it both ways guys

3.) Hi Mendax.

I have to say, Benteke is a completely different kettle of fish compared to Hutton and Bannan.

Benteke has given us a different dimension as to the way we play and also a dependable target man.
Hutton and bannan have given us nothing.
Hutton is an aggressive thug, and Bannan although he can create the odd chance here and there is not good enough in our system.

If they are as good as they think they are, move on and prove it, and if it works for them fair play, they prosper.

I would suggest they both depart, man up and rekindle their footballing styles elsewhere.

villadave

4.) Is mrs villa Murf was now mrs Hutton she would be facing a divorce

5.) The thing is benteke is a good player

Me

6.) Sorry Dave, I think we are at cross purposes. You are bringing football ability into it. The point I am making is that Benteke was defended on purely economic logic, yet Bannan and Hutton are attacked for applying same said logic. When people were telling me I would move if offered more money in another position, there was no caveat that said "assuming you are actually good at the job"

7.) PL and villa have been great at signing players this summer but when it comes to selling they are hugely to blame, outcasting the players and letting the world know that they will not feature in the team and then expecting clubs to pay reasonable money for a player they know the club doesn't want was foolish. does anyone have any idea how much of a loss villa would suffer to cancel some of these ridiculous contracts? surely there couldn't be many years on the hutton/ireland/bannan/stevens contracts?

8.) The difference is benteke would cost 25 million whereas, Hutton costs £2. 50

9.) Hutton was quoted as saying since signing for villa it's been a nightmare then surely given the opportunity he should have left oh I forgot he's short of a few quid I agree with mendax about bentekes loyalty but the point is he did more in one season than the all the greedy b------s put together who will quite happily sit out there contracts wish I had a job like that what a nightmare!

10.) I think their being attacked on their ability and lack of effort, rightly so. If I got paid that much money to do an awful job for my employer I'd expect criticism too.

Finch

11.) At the end of the day why would anyone leave a job to a lower paid and lower standard one? even bannan whos probs on 20k a week, if he went to championship on 10k, that's half his wages gone! sure its greedy but they are technically working for their living. wouldn't be surprised if we only see fonz, hutton and bent leave out of the 'bomb squad'

12.) Agree with the above comment, but on the other hand, why don't footballers actually want to play football anymore? If I was sitting on the bench for 20k a week and was offered the chance to play week in week out for 10k a week, i'd take it. I just don't understand how people can be cheeky enough to have one of the best payed jobs in the world and still want more. the majority of people in the world are on an average wage at best which is just enough for an alright house and car and a lot of people can't even afford to eat, while these boys have mansions and bugatti's and its still not enough for them. And considering half of their wages come out of the pockets of the people with no money that pay for season tickets and a whole lot of merchandise I find it ridiculous!

13.) Fonz is better than bowery, end ov.

14.) I think players would want to move on for lesser wages, because of career longevity. If you are seen to be acting like a mercenary over a year or two on a contract this would not bode well with future employers and so may effect future employment

15.) I for 1 cetainly agree with ethAVFC. incredibly somebody actually disagreed would love to know why?

16.) Fonz is NOT better than bowery he is a total waste of time and space

17.) Give over mate. Clubs don't gove a monkeys about whether a player is a mercenary or not as long as he is their mercenary and is doing the business on the pitch
Benteke has done a number on us and we are all celebrating his stay (I include myself in that)
Suarez has demonstrated on a regular basis that he is problem child and a nutter to boot and Arsenal are tripping over themselves to sign the guy.
The norms of everyday employment just do not apply to football

18.) With the limited ability they have, do you honestly think they will ever have the chance to earn the kind of money they are on now?
They are on the downslope careerwise. They know, you know it and their agent definitely knows it
Whether they have career longevity or not will not have anything to do with them effectively honouring a contract they already have
It's not their fault at the end of the day.
It was Alex McLeish who thought Hutton was worth the fee and the contract he ultimately signed

19.) What we seem to be doing here is formulating arguments for us to get what we want ie rid of the likes of Bannan, Hutton and the like
Those arguments have no resonance with the players themselves

20.) Thanks, also not sure why somebody would disagree. People seem to confuse it with average people, yes somebody earning just enough to feed their family would not take a job that pays less because they could not afford to, but when these dopes are being payed ridiculous money that they can't possibly spend why do they always want more? They get to do the thing we love for a living, without having to work, and they get payed insane money. While i'm not one of these people that thinks footballers are overpaid, since it is a very popular sport that generates a whole lot of income, I do think that some of these lads should be grateful for what they've got, and to take bannan as an example, he should just be grateful to earn 10k a week for the quality of football he plays.

21.) So if a player isn't in the first team he isn't playing football, what tosh. they train every day as do the first teamers they will play reserve matches once or twice a week as do the first teamers. sitting on the bench occassionaly and playing football all week for 20k sounds like a good number to me. I for one do not blame the players they have committed their life to the sport from an early age 8 or 9 missed out on a normal upbringing in order to be committed to the sport. now they find they are not good enough anymore they are bound to stay and take the money. don't blame them blame whoever signed them for the monies they are on. especially hutton who should never be in the epl but your manager of the time thought he was worth it, could you imagine hutton saying "o don't pay me that much I am not worth it" no and neither could i. in their position you would all do the same.

dave

22.) Dave you are joking right? how can u feel sorry for these muppets? I would play footy as my job for mininum wage as I enjoy it that much, they are very greedy, these boys are so lucky to be playing footy for a living earning 10-20k a week especially the awful effort and quality they put in and you think they have it hard?joke of the century seriously

23.) At which point did I say I feel sorry for anybody read the post buddy read the post. I said as perhaps you have just done, that if it was me I would do the same as we all would

dave

24.) Dave, the reason they are in the game is to play football at the highest level, not to train with 19 year olds in the eyes of nobody other than a youth team manager. Are you seriously suggesting they get a kick out of having a casual kick around with some kids while their mates are playing professional matches every weekend in front of 10's of thousands of people? Why do you think they started at the age of 8 or 9? Why do you think they train as hard as they do? To play at the highest level possible. Maybe for some its more about money, but if that's the case they should hang up their boots and put the money they've earnt into their own business.

25.) Ethavc when you get to a certain point in your carrear as these guys obviously have yes my friend it is about the money they may have wanted stardom in the past (hutton) tried it at spurs but he wasnt good enough realised this and looked for a pay day which he had obliged, why do YOU think they are still there taking a pay cheque hutton could have gone to prove my point he stayed to kick about with kids whilst taking his BIG pay cheque him being smarter will take as many pay cheques until he can't anymore then laugh all the way to the bank and THEN start his own business

derbyshire dave

26.) I hope if he starts a business it's in Angola they love performing clowns

27.) So what about bannan rejecting blackburns wage offer?

28.) What about it, he would prefer your money than there's he probably doesn't fancy the NW or having to earn his money he is probably quite happy where he is, as I was saying

derbyshire dave

Steven irelands bentley about to grace Doncaster thank f--k for that

Villamurf

1.) They won't be paying for 100% of his wages so not really any different for us

2.) Aston Villa look set to actually terminate Stephen Ireland's contract with a £1 million pay off to please all concerned

3.) Also still failing to get hutton out on loan. couldn't get a deal done with almeria in spain. they probably didn't fancy payin his unjustifiable wage. when ARE we going to get these wasters (ireland, bannan, hutton, etc. ) OUT of VP? needs to be soon or we can kiss goodbye to anymore potential incoming players.

4.) Come on PL time to get rid of all these hasbeens and bring in some expensive players 8-12m like Cardiff City or we are definitely going down

5.) Blackburn are interested in Bannan but need to ship out Dunn and Givet before they make a bid

6.) More misery!

Who cares what Cardiff are doing?! Get a grip!

7.) Bannan just not good nothing against the kid but the others are just money grabbing mercanaries who would rather stay and collect their wages

8.) To the guy on about cardiff, what do you want us to do? Buy expensive players on high wages like QPR, because that clearly works so well. What we're doing is in my eyes so much better than paying £15m for average players. Take bent for example, we got 5/6 very good players last summer for the same amount of money we spent on bent? Who you rather have in your team, lowton, westwood, benteke and sylla or darren bent? If you're unwilling to wait a few years for success then find another team to support!

9.) Well said ethavfc!

Regarding, Hutton I know a deal has been agreed with mallorca but its his agent making the deal stall and making a better pay out for them both. Either way he's definetly on his bike

Finch

10.) Baggies, Hull & Cardiff to go down!
Cardiff's squad is still made up of Championship at best players!
Ooo Christian Benteke!

11.) Baggies won't go down, I hate to admit it but I think they'll have a good season! Sunderland to go down for me f**k paolo di caniooo!

12.) I think stoke will go down they have been awful for a long long time now hate watching them play and if it wasnt for begovic huth and shawcross they woulda gone down a couple of seasons back because the rest of their team is terrible. palace, stoke and either hull or sunderland will be relegated I think
Villa should finish between 8th-12th

I know bents on his way but 5 million that's been reported can't have that the man scores goals where ever he's played and other clubs are paying way more on strikers who have never played in the premier I know he's wages are probably why he's going on the cheap but hopefully we get a bit more

Villamurf

1.) Have to agree villamurf.
5 mil is a snip, he needed to do a bit more outside the 18yd box to suit PL.
As you say let's hope we get a bit more than the reported 5 mil.
Possible that some other club is keeping shtum on this and might come in at the last minute!
He will score goals though, let's hope not against us.

2.) Surely it will be 5mill plus add ons for appearances and goals scored. a realistic figure would be 7m

Villamurf

1.) Hi any news on Gary Gardner,

I'm wondering will there be a change of tactics for the Newcastle game if they have watched Liverpool in the second half they might try the same personally I don't think Newcastle are good enough to try that and hopefully an early goal for us will start the ball rolling

Your rumour was nearly right kingsvilla with your source saying we were signing that lovable eightys detective kojak

Liverpool dropped that deep second half which was a credit to our forwards not every team will be able to defend like that and we can't expect benteke to score every game last year Liverpool would have would by more than that so am extremely pleased with the progress because will give a lot of teams a right hiding here endeth the lesson

Villamurf

1.) Your wrong we won't win many games at villa park we can only counter attack ( the lesson for you is, to not be satisfied with 2nd best

2.) Agree with the first comments all villa need to do is sharpen up the attack and polish the finishing up for when benteke is being marked out the game Villa dominated Liverpool after 35 mins for the rest of the match something that isn't easy to do we had 9 shots on goal compared with there 2 and we played well against arsenal and Chelsea thus when we play any editable teams we should be more than enough to beat the majority of teams in the league now that the defense has been tightened really rating Luna and okore who should be nicknamed the tank

3.) Totally agree with the above comment. We'r one of the best counter attacking teams in the league the stats don't lie. However at home we will look rather one dimensional as we did yesterday without that creative flair player (ie gourcuff) that we crave.

Finch

4.) My lesson is to not take second best apparently and we won't win many home games nice comment from a man with no name another doomboy

5.) Ok got a name its villajk not a doom boy, just reality, but we will get more points away, unless we get a skillfull midfielder someone like Sid Cowans have a good day villajk

6.) It seems that anyone that disagrees with Villasmurf is automatically a doom and gloom supporter. He can't relate reality and events. C'mon muff, allow others to have an opinion, you are not always correct as none of us are.

7.) Nice comments gentlemen and I take what your saying the funny thing is I love everybodys comments that's what makes it interesting maybe I wear my heart on my sleeve to much sometimes but I like the rest of you love the villa and by the way I'm always right NOT
