Avfc looking at signing will hughes from derby before kit launch next weekend

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Personally I think Hughes is quality, but I wouldn't pay over 6 million as we could have another Delph on are hands when he first came, overall though he would be a great addition to the squad!

Agree5 Disagree7

Not if they sign Belhanda, besides Murphy is a better prospect for Villa and would undoubtably be cheaper.

Agree5 Disagree4

Got to say it as taken a fair bit of time but I thought Delph was excellent at the tail end of the season we all know lambert is going to take risks in the transfer window and a few more like Lowton, sylla and benteke and ill be over the moon

Agree8 Disagree0

Will Hughes is the best young player in England outside of the prem he would fit like a glove

Agree5 Disagree2

Not mentioned on this site yet, Nathan Baker-new contract, excellent potentional, home grown, sound investment.

Agree5 Disagree1

Dale stephens is better than will hughes

Agree0 Disagree9

I think Baker could be a top player for us in the future but feel he isn't ready for the first team this season. He is still a bit naive and does tend to lunge in.

Needs to develop his game (which will hopefully come with experience) before he is a nailed on starter

Agree5 Disagree1

W Hughes is one of the best under 20 players in Europe, Murphy an Stephens don't come close to the potential that Hughes has, just watch him play, it's so obvious! He's a future star!

Agree7 Disagree2

To the Hughes fan above, you may well be right, he may be brilliant and have outstanding potential but my point was, why would avfc buy him & belhanda, they are both young & would compete for the same position, along with other young existing players, stifiling development. I would prefer we bought Hughes but I seem to be in the minority.

Agree2 Disagree5

I disagree that they would compete for same position as hughes is more of a dictator who will sit a bit deeper lookin to control the game spraying passes and breaking forward from deep whereas belhanda would be 1 of the 3 behind benteke if signed

Agree6 Disagree0

My point, Hughes breaking forward (one of his assets) into the space where Belhanda is already, buy Hughes or Murphy or Belhanda at the right price, but only 1 of them, but whatever happens don't forget the talented young mf's we have at Villa already in need of games. Is Hughes that much better than Westwood/Sylla/Delph/Gardner + next gen boys.

Agree0 Disagree5

Hughes may not be as good as Westwood, delph or sylla right now but I promise he will be within a year 2 years an I'd say Hughes would be far more creative than delph an sylla but not as good defensively.

Hughes is a CM, Belhanda is pimarily an AM/winger, so I don't think it's a matter of one or the other.

>Scg87

Agree6 Disagree0

Hughes's isn't better then Westwood or Delph in my opinion.

I think his attacking qualities would add something to our team (similarly to Belhanda) but wouldn't be prepared to sacrifice a starting place for Westwood, Delph, Gabby or Weimann to accomodate him

Agree0 Disagree4

Hughes is 18, right? I don't think anyone above has said he would start ahead of Westwood sylla or delph right now. I think some are looking at the bigger picture, looking 2 years ish down the line when Hughes will be 2-3 times the player that delph an sylla are, an buying him now at a 'low ish' price would be a shrude signing for the future.

Agree5 Disagree2

Hughes is only 18, with bag's of potential, no one has said that we would'nt want him at Villa, potentially he will be fantastic (in time), this conversation started with "buying only one c/m at the right price", AVFC may well be making an offer but will he want to come to a club with so much competition from potential talent? if he does he'll be welcomed with open arms.

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Just need to complete those deals and sign Cresswell done, and to renew a contract with Weimann, and it's a top 8 finish for us next season

Agree9 Disagree3

Villa Representatives in Morrocco negotiating with Younes Bellhanda and his representatives to tie the deal down quickly.

Agree7 Disagree3

I heard okore is going to Chelsea?

Agree2 Disagree8

I heard that too about the Villa reps in Morocco, and I hope it is true, as we do need to move fast to stop a champions league/ europa league team from stealing. If e do take too long, like we did for Dempsey, it could all fall through

Agree8 Disagree1

Okore declined a move to Chelsea in Jan transfer window stating "he wanted first team football" apparantly he is happy playing in Denmark learning the game.
He sounds to good to be true!

Agree7 Disagree1

With seemingly Jesus Fernandez coming in as a new keeper to replace Given & Weimann has signed a new 3 year deal. Now to sign Belhanda & Okore & we'll be a force next season for sure!

Agree5 Disagree1

Wonder where this "info" came from?

Just being reported that Villa have no interest in the player. So either Villa were rejected hard, or there are some lies being told.

I put this kind of rumour in the same category as the Clint Dempsey one last year. Cloak and daggers from Villa trying to show "ambition" by apparently being interested in big name signings to appease the fans.

Agree4 Disagree2

Message for Finch, what happened mate, Where's Belhanda?
