Was speaking to a few bretheren and the conversation got round to brucie and what style of play we should try and stick to. a leicester supporter who was in our company than gave his tuppence worth, which was that brucie was suffering from 'small club manager syndrome', he enlightened us with his opinion that because bruce had always managed at smaller clubs (sunderland i replied were nearly as big as us? ), he didn't have as much of a squad to choose from, hence more often than not the team mostly picked itself.

so continuity was there, and because he knew each players limitations the nucleus of the squad could compensate and thus a unit formed, now of course we laughed him off to the bar to buy a double round for being so stupid, but today, a few of us are wondering if having too much choice has been causing brucey to chop and change, and dither sometimes, and so opportunities are lost.

what do you think?

The problem with Bruce is not that he has too much choice, quite simply he is not up to the task. He has turned good players in to clueless amateurs, we will be having these discussions all next season. Trust me we have seen enough to suggest things are not going to change. in the last forty or so hours of football under Bruce and I have watched most of this I have not seen fifteen minutes of quality, or any cohesive tactical nouse, that's down to the manager.

There is evidence to support it, as when we went and won 8 games in 9, we was down to the bare bones and the squad picked itself for the majority. However it doesn't explain his stupid tactics because as seen yesterday, we can attack we can make chances, just not in the "easier" games. Makes no sense to me.

Not seen 15 minutes of quality in 40 hours of football, bit of a drama queen because you don't like Bruce.

Come on chris, we're all part of a broad church, hopeful is only airing his concerns because like us all, we love the club.

Saying things like, haven't seen 15 minutes of quality in 40 hours of football, is just melodramatic.

Well said chris your one of the few that actually make sense.

I don't really care how exciting or entertaining the football is atm. We need results. When we went on that 8 wins in 9 games we didn't play that we'll then. But so what. I couldn't care if we scrape every game 1-0 next year and the goal comes off kodjias left testicle. This division is like quick sand and every year a big club like ours is stuck in it you sink a bit deeper. Look at forest Blackburn and Leeds. We don't want to be another one of those. Steve Bruce has the best record of getting out of here so we need to stick with him. She knows what he's doing. UTV.

Cheers Clarat. Good point Rich, I think the only reason he hasn't got everyone on his back is because of his record in this league. When we went on that run of 8 in 9, we played defensive and it looked horrible, no one cared because we was winning, however when we're playing awful and not picking up any points what so ever (Fulham, Reading) it starts to wind people up.

Ipswich at home we played well, created chance after chance and got hit on the break and lost 1-0, sometimes that's the way it is. What so confusing is twice this year we've drew to Brighton, and our performed them and out played them, they got gifted a penalty Sunday and the chance to play against 10 men, then they scored a solo worldie in the other game, the sort you see 3 times max a season.

They came second, why can we mix it with the big boys and play, show how we can attack, create brilliant chances, and then when the little teams come we score and then sit back and try and defend for 80minutes?

Bruce needs to prove himself this transfer window as well, so far everyone he's signed has regressed in form, and he got better results out of Gustede, Ayew, McCormack and our "weaker" midfield from before January, than he has since January!

Biggest season in recent history, if we don't get promotion chances are we will rot in this league for 4/5 years, and it starts in the summer, get that right and give us the best platform to use this quality squad we have in the right way and get us out of this awful league.
