Just got back from work an checked all villa sites no meeting wot aload of crap i do think it will happen but just wish rlerner would come out an tell us who the buyer is an stop making it a secret that be best iam getting impatient because its 30 days til season starts an are teams going to b a shambles no big ben or delph or vlaar an yet again no quality replacements wot a joke villa are getting left behind because of all this another dogfight on the horizon oh well could be worse we all could be crappy blue noses the takeover could happen to late that's my thoughts anyone agree

Did you really expect that after today's supposed meeting there would be a national press conference called with the worlds media there to give us the details straight away. Be patient, it may take until tomorrow until anything is released. And none of the players you mentioned are gone yet. Stop being so depressing for the sake of it. How many massive signings have other bottom half premier league teams made so far? I can't recall any. I think us getting Richards is the best of the summer so far.

I agree, I've had enough reading posts based solely on individuals guess work, I don't think any of them actually know anything that is fact about the takeover same too with Benteke it's just all becoming a bit boring now. Wake me u with some proper news and not until Zzzzzzz Zzzzzzzz Zzzzzzz

It was a staff meeting no one said it had anything to do with the takeover it was only mentioned because it was out of the ordinary. If they wanted everyone to know what went on it would have being a announcement not a meeting

Agreed Mendax, but you would expect your own fans to be a bit more truthful with their posts or at least state that it is based on a guess. Some of the people on here should change their display names to something more fitting like "Coco The Clown" At least I call myself Joker.

Hmm - If you were going to hold a rallying cry to get staff up for the season ahead, wouldn't you do it a little closer to the start of the season, Maybe the week before rather than 4 weeks before?

However, I can't believe any meeting would have been about the takeover because they would have to inform the press at the same time or immediately afterwards to ensure the 'right' message was published.

It was probably something else like "How do we maximise season ticket sales in the current climate of uncertainty?", or "Have we got the right number of support staff in place for a club of this size?"

Randy IS selling (as it has been stated everywhere) the meeting today if there is one could be about anything,just have to sit tight and wait for any news on the sale of the club.we are all in the same boat, wishing for a multi billionaire to buy us.fingers crossed!

Something must be happening we aren't just signing free agents we are bidding 9 mills here and there for good players. I also am frustrated at a lack of information at the moment but bottom line is will it stop you from supporting this wonderful club if we didn't get taken over?? I know it wouldn't stop me. Sherwood is already changing mentalities in the dressing room. Getting rid of dead weight and expensive wages. No matter what the outcome I see us improving next season and that will be good enough for me as a start.

Something must be happening or in the near future because I don't think Wilkins would of come on board unless something positive was about to happen, why would he join a club destined for relegation and spoil his own reputation.

Well It's Wednesday and supposingly the day of the meeting, I have not read anywhere else other than on this site about a meeting but I hope that there is one and that news of the takeover is finally revealed so we at least all have an idea on where the club is going, I have read so many rumours of late that it will just be a relief to know the truth. So here's hoping for good day for the club and all Villa fans alike, may we get the news that we are all hoping for and may glory days return to Villa Park. :-)

I'm new to posting on here but have been actively watching for a while.
I am very dubious about posting as I don't like getting things wrong but I have some information that might be interesting to you all.
I have a friend that works as a technician at Villa Park and I spoke to him yesterday afternoon.
He did not confirm to me about a meeting taking place, avoided to answer when I spoke to him but he did tell me it is mayhem at Villa Park at the moment as everyone has been told to make the place spotless, as if royalty was coming!
Make of that what you will but I am hoping something soon will happen regarding the takeover.
Looking at the fact Vlaar has still not made a decision on his contract offer and not signed for anyone else as a free agent, £9m being spent on 1 player before the sale of Benteke I honestly believe a takeover is imminent.
