Manager Paul Lambert is going to attempt to bring two players from Leicester City, it's rumoured that Lambert wants to bring in both Anthony Knockaert & Wes Morgan for £8million for the pair.

More lower league rubbish that won't be able to cut it....I can't wait.

Agree9 Disagree2

Clearly preparing for life in the Championship. I'm really starting to question Paul Lamberts know-how. How the hell does Lambert expect Championship players to cut it in the Prem..!! Would every club be doing it if this was the case

Agree4 Disagree2

Thats a lot of Money for Unexperienced players at this level.

Agree4 Disagree1

Wes Morgan is the best centre back in the championship by a million miles way better than what villa have at the moment, if he was to come he would be a fans favorite and sort the young un's.

Agree4 Disagree2

As a Forest fan it hurts me to say it but Wes Morgan is sorely missed definitely would help your leaky defence

Phillipe coutinho heading to villa for 7 million

Believable8 Unbelievable12

Don't think so. You have to sell before you can buy, and Saints already are in active discussions with Inter.
Inter want to sell to enable them to buy, so will not sit around to get a deal done.

Agree4 Disagree4

I don't htink Coutinho will be coming to villa but Lambert has been given £10 million without having to sell. Cant sell too much apart from Bent until the summer otherwise the squad would be paper thin with no experience.

Agree2 Disagree0

Well he must have more than 10m to spend because he wouldn't just blow it on one player!

Aston Villa are one of many clubs interested in Lazio's Angolan-born Belgian full-back Luis Cavanda, according to the player's agent.

Villa boss Paul Lambert is looking to add depth to his squad in the January transfer window and strengthening his defence is a priority.

Cavanda is considered to be a potential target with the Belgium under-21 international having impressed in Serie A this season, establishing himself as a first team regular at Lazio.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Cavandas agent is angling for a better contract for his player, his statement on an italian website makes that obvious

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Darren Bent will stay because no one esle wants him.

Agree11 Disagree7

This is probably true, can't see anyone paying his wages atm. I hope he stays and plays.. Shocking miss last night though.

Aston Villa's Paul Lambert is thinking about a £10 million bid for Inter's Philippe Coutinho or a straight swap for Darren Bent, a swap deal would greatly reduce the wage bill whilst getting a quality midfielder who can become a huge sell on fee if successful.

The Danny Graham £12 million rumour is a NO GO, Aubameyang is a possible recruit, plus young Belgium defender.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Not sure Inter would want Bent...

Agree11 Disagree5

Bent isn't leaving & why would Inter Milan want Darren Bent?!?

Agree9 Disagree4

Can people stop saying Bent is leaving, just because Lambert says he isn't, doesn't mean he isn't, he could be trying to rise the price

Agree3 Disagree4

Why are people saying he is leaving he's not! Even if we have to pay Sunderland another 6million for him it is worth it because he's a goalscorer and that will keep us in this league!! What we need is this coutinho to sign so it gives us a bit of flair and someone to feed balls through to bent!

Agree6 Disagree4

If somebody wants bent i'll pay for his taxi fare! He's had more than enough chance to prove himself and i personally don't want a 'goalscorer' that runs away from the ball every time its crossed to him. Playing darent bent as a target man is as effective as playing barry bannan as one and as bent is slower than michael chopra, he can hardly play as a supporting striker who runs onto balls. The 'bent is part of my plans' comment from PL is simply to try and raise his price-tag! Its not gonna devalue him so he might as well at least try and get more money out of teams. He's off to QPR anyway, their the only team stupid enough to pay £10m and 60k wages for a player who can only finish when its only a silver platter from 3 yards out but can't head and sleeps with team-mates wives.

Agree4 Disagree5

He is also lazy, does not work for the team, and expects the team to provide the chances for him, where as Weimann and Benteke work for the team, help crest the chances, and their the ones scoring the goals

Agree7 Disagree5

Bent is proven quality! 6-7 years of scoring to a prolific rate in the prem is proof of that!

Agree8 Disagree5

If he is such a prolific striker, with years of prem experience why would you sell him............its clear to see the 2 things Villa lack are experience and goals?

Aubameyang, Sissoko, Coutinho, Plus Belguim CB on way to villa talks underway with Coutinho.

Bent to be swapped for one of the above as Lerner refuses to sell to relegation rivals and targets the reduction of trhe wage bill. Edz any truth to these rumors? Coutinho is ready made for Villa and would supply more creativity for Big Ben & Co

Believable6 Unbelievable4

I would keep bent if the above are coming in

Agree2 Disagree5

Not trying to sound daft, but do you have a shred of evidence to suggest any of these would take place other than regurgitated news clippings from the highly in accurate British tabloids?

I could see Bent at West Ham potentially but is it wise to sell a proven player in order to bring in an unproven if not flashy guy like Augbamayang?

Key player here may well be Coutinho if he could come in and provide the same as what Arteta used to give Everton we will be much improved. This CB looks fast and athletic so he would be a good signing also....

Agree3 Disagree0

I think the Belgian CB is called Luis Cavanda?

Agree3 Disagree2

I would love any of the above rumors to be true especially Coutinho, if we got two from any of names mentioned, it would change the whole dynamic of how we play {in a positive way}

Agree1 Disagree3

Cavanda is not a CB he's a RB
