Reports linking Luiz Felipe Scolari to the Aston Villa job, it's believed Scolari is desperate to return to England. to wash out his disastrous run at Chelsea a few seasons ago.

Which report is this then?

So now it's Phil Scolari? Join the queue, Phil, join the queue. At this rate, the appointment of a new manager won't come until the start of the 2013-14 season because it'll take that long to interview every manager and ex-manager from here to Timbuktoo who has been 'linked' with the manager's job lately! All this before McLiesh has even gone means it's going to be a long, rumour-filled summer for the Villa faithful. Brace yourselves, folks!

Villa will attempt to bring Nathan Dyer to Villa Park in a deal that would double his current wages at Swansea, free-agents Mohamed Diame, Danny Guthrie and Csaba Somogyi will also be pursued.

None of those are Villa players & never will be.
WITHE FOR MANAGER!

Considering McLeish was brought in to keep us up, from the boards perspective its job well done. I also can't see him resigning based on his post match interview. But if he did go, would anyone like to see Giafranco Zola and Ray Wilkins come in? Just a suggestion.
Believable8
Unbelievable7
In what way was he brought in to keep us up? The last 4 years we finished 6th three times in a row then 9th last year. yeah we lost players but we should never have been in the relegation battle.
Agree8

It was a nothing season. we have no money / no investment this season as houlier / o neil spent on players (makoun etc.) so he was bought in to keep us up at least this season and push on next season.

Zola at the villa, you are the most deluded person ever. He wouldn't consider coming to a second rate minor club like us. So lucky to stay up, two more games and we would have gone. Good luck to the Blues we need more local teams in the premier rather than Londoners

Anyway returning to the actual question!
I'd be open to Zola as manager as it's a attacking style wilkins not sure?
But here's one for Peter Withe VILLA LEGEND wants a shot at managing Villa now i know he's managed thailand and league 2 teams but I'd have him

All this BS about injurys and players sold etc! is anyone trying to tell me norwich, swansea, sunderland etc have better squads than us? not a hope. they have good managers. hes a terrible manager, plain and simple, hes a failure, and he HAS to go

Well a disappointing season draws to a close. Its clear to me lerner's objectives for mcleish were to keep villa up from day one. He's achieved his objective, so I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed.
And I wouldn't mind tht, aslong as lerner invests about 30mill into the team. I want mcleish out, I won't lie, but I'm ust to our board going against what we want.
Oh and as for the guy who said commoli was at the match.. He left liverpool to move back to france. And he was on a ridiculous wage at them, why would lerner undo all his wage cutting work. Awful rumour.

Low class manager
Owners acting irrationally
Top players either on the sick or not interested.
Selling best talent.
Club needing a total overhaul.
No plan on and off the field
Whilst you may think this is a summary of the blogs on this site it is a 2 seasons ago summary from the NUFC web site.
The similarities at AVFC are frighteningly clear.
I do not want to see the real PL clubs replaced by one season wonders Hull ,Blackpool etc with 16000 fans, so make your voices heard before you suffer the same chastening experience we did.
Good luck I think you need it.

He said that Comoli was apparently there as a guest, its not a rumour that he might be joining at all. It was a rumour that he might of been at the game.

Damien Comolli bought Andy Carroll for £35m, Downing for £20m & Henderson for £20m.

Just read in the Paper that mcidiot is asking for money to spend in the summer. He has also said he isn't taking the blame anymore and it's the players. Randy I beg you to get rid of this person do not trust him with any money take a look at nzogbia and Hutton , if that's the quality he buys then more fool you if you give him any money. He will go for the likes of Dann and Johnson all x blues all got relegated no no no . Mcginger has just given you the results of the lowest amount of points we have ever had in the premier league. In our 138 years of a football club we have only been out of the top flight 12 times mcginger nearly made it 13 so get rid of him , before he gets rid of the ones who really care and that's the fans . Look at the facts ,, last game of the season only 36000 not good could not sell out against man u man city Liverpool arsenal Chelsea not good next season will be worse. Give the fans what they want Hoddle and Wilkins would be great and would not Vostok you a penny have some balls mr Lerner admit you are wrong sack mcginger now .... Aj

Of course at least some of the players have to shoulder a hefty chunk of the blame. Zog was a good buy on paper at least but utterly absymal and Given's done ok. Hutton was a rubbish buy. From the existing squad, Gabby got off to a good start then lost the plot. Albrighton's been a shadow of the player we saw last season. Dunne's been inconsistent - a liability even at times. Warnock's not worth writing home about. Bent has issues in being too reliant on others and Heskey couldn't score in a brothel. I could go on but you get the point! Not all Eck's fault by any means but it'd be lunacy to keep him. That said, it was lunacy to appoint him so we just have to watch and wait. I have this awful feeling he might stay. Hope I am wrong.

Emmanuel Emenike is set to replace Heskey next season, the powerhouse striker was keen on a move to england prior to signing for Spartak Moscow, he was also apparently wanted by Houllier before the Darren Bent transfer.
