Aston Villa after Inter's, Brazilian player, Phillipe Coutinho.
Moussa Sissoko is another player being talked about, Defensive rock from Toulouse.

Believable23 Unbelievable13

We are after Stefan Rein?? from Bayer Leverkusen, Kelvin Leerdam, James Chester, Dale Stephens and possibly the guy from St Ettienne. Lambert is also a massive fan of Howson at Norwich and he is the only player he wants to sign from carrow Road as the rest are all a pile if rubbish

Agree15 Disagree8

Aubameyang is your man

Agree14 Disagree5

Remarks like that are bound to get a snap back fromorwich fans, but you can forget Howson and any other deals with Norwich, Villa are not welcome here at any price,

Agree7 Disagree6

Although very ambitious, I honestly think that if we got Aubameyang, Sissoko, Coutinho and a good experienced CB, we could finish top ten this season, and would be a contender for top six nex season

Agree8 Disagree7

That lot would cost nigh on £30m and the not for investment chairman ain't spending that kind of money but as Keegan would say, I'd love it if all of those came in, next season we would be real contenders

Agree4 Disagree1

It's not that unrealistic, 10m to start, plus 10m + from Bent sale, if we ca ship out any of the following: Dunne/Ireland/Warnock/Hutton the wages released would be huge, and could be transferred into transfer budget. That's about 25m
Sissoko's contract is running out, so they would have to accept an offer of about 5m, a CB for e.g. Dawson, would probs cost about 5m and Aubameyang and Coutinho could be collected for about 15m altogether

Agree7 Disagree1

I put the Howson remark in to see if any Norwich fans would bite, i did forget to say butland is expected to sign before the end of the window as well

Agree7 Disagree1

You saying buttland will sign for villa?

Agree8 Disagree8

Yep Butland will sign for the Villa revealing a Villa tattoo that he has kept hidden this whole time

Agree11 Disagree9

Sissoko is a dead cert as he's nearly up on his contract and suits the Lambert policy of 'young and hungry'.
Not sure about the cb situation but hangeland is being linked.

Agree5 Disagree3

Football is a buisness, Norwich would sell players to Villa for sure, the prices would be inflated even more than the usual Janurary dealings but deals could be done, I don't think any of our key players will be sold to any club unless a really stupid price is offered where they can be replaced twice over.
The team Norwich have and the way they are playing together are good enough to avoid relegation, so why sell and run the risk of relegation and loose out on the 90+Million that is on offer......I am sure we would do a swap deal between Morrison and Benteke if you are interested.

Agree1 Disagree1

No chance re Benteke. If we survive this season which I am sure we will then we will be in a position to push on next season, not fighting relegation methinks. I have no axe to grind with Norwich fans but I do think that some of them should respect what Paul Lambert did for them rather than taking the p..s out of the evolving project currently in progress at the Villa. It was only 3 years ago that they were being battered in League 1 by Colchester until Lambert came in and got them to where they are now. He made Hughton's job quite simple and even had the decency not to raid his old club for their best players unlike others (Harry Redknapp anyone?)

Agree4 Disagree1

Why on earth would we swap benteke, a player too good for villa and norwich for a player who isnt even good enough for the prem? Plus i doubt he's worth the 7m we payed for benteke at the start of the season let alone the 10-15m teams would be willing to pay for him now!

Agree1 Disagree0

Benteke is far too good for norwich morison is your sort of quality

Agree2 Disagree1

Transferring monthly salary funds into transfer kitty? I have to laugh sometimes! Do you honestly think that there is a big pucket of money that pays salaries once a month? A business has to generate funds to pay salaries and in our case this is from endoresements, match days etc!! and each of the players you have mentioned will require wages similar to that of Dunne/Warnock/Ireland and where will that money come from? Oh yeah that magic bucket again

Agree1 Disagree1

The Morrison/Benteke thing was sarcasm....... I have read on other sites Lambert may be interested in Morrison for 2 Million, If anyone can get the best out of Morro it will be Lambert.

Agree4 Disagree2

Meant to be signing for forest but you never know

Agree3 Disagree3

Lazy journo;s same as the lescott story nothing in it at all

Agree2 Disagree1

Dorrans is tripe.....can't break into the first team at present. He's no better than the options we have now

Aston Villa have made contact with Inter Milan regarding the availability of 21 year old Brazilian attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

A bid is yet to be made but discussions are said to have opened.

Coutinho is an attacking midfielder with one senior Brazil cap to his name but has shown promise over the last few years. Is issue he has at Inter is getting regular football. He has only played one full game this season (against Palermo) and may be looking to take a small step down (no offense Villa fans) in order to increase his chances for the World Cup in 2014

Believable14 Unbelievable4

Cracking player. Not sure I believe it though

Agree10 Disagree4

I think this would be a great deal he would be the perrrfect person to feed passes to our strikers. We should be playing this formation if we get him. And play bent!
4-1-2-1-2
---------------Guzan---------------

Lowton---Vlaar-----Clark---(a new lb)

------------Westwood--------------

Agbonlahor---Coutinho----Nzogbia

---------Bent----------Benteke-------

Agree5 Disagree10

Going from Inter Milan to Villa is more than just a small step down at the moment.

Agree7 Disagree6

If we play them players in that formation we'll get torn to shreads in the same way we have been over the last 4/5 games. Westwood is not good enough defensively to dominate games an if its just him doing that job then nothin will change from the last couple weeks. We need a proper DM!

Coutinho is talented but is not exactly a hard working mid, an if people hate Ireland for being "lazy" then you won't like coutinho much either

Agree17 Disagree0

That's what Sissoko is for

Agree6 Disagree1

Maybe, but if we can get him we would be crazy not to, he can do loads of skills, and he uses them effectively as well as having a good shot and he can score some great goals.

Inter don't play him enough, could become a world class player

Agree1 Disagree4

Saints also looking at him.

Agree3 Disagree0

People say they don't believe it but coutinho has been trying to get first team football for so long now and still hasn't got anything so i wouldn't be suprised if we had enquired about the availability but him joining us i'm not 100% on either but if it did happen it would be a masterstroke by lambert

Believable6 Unbelievable6

05 Jan 2013 12:11:47
we are gonna sign momo sissoko....................

Believable7 Unbelievable11

Why do u think that u have no evidence at all the strongest person we have been linked with is jolean lescott because lambert has admitted that he is not ruling out a move for him

Agree5 Disagree3

We should get samaras from Celtic

Agree6 Disagree17

Lescott has announced he wants to stay at city and is unwilling to go out on loan

Agree2 Disagree4

Sissoko will go to Newcastle who are in a false position and should be in the top 8, at least challenge for there

Agree0 Disagree4

Sissoko is being most closely linked with Tottenham and Arsenal. {Ed001's Note - that's Moussa Sissoko, not Momo.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle should be in top 8? How do you work that one out? They have been garbage this season and deserve to be where they are. What a ridiculous comment.

Agree1 Disagree0

Every fans supporters think their teams are in a false position apart from Man U's. Fact Newcastlke have 20 points from 21 games - How are they in a false position?
