PL looking at Emilo Izzaguire (think that how u spell it) from Celtic £3 million, LB with great pace & champions league experience.

Believable8 Unbelievable7

I hope he is looking for a new job

Agree19 Disagree5

How long is our Randy going to persist with his inept tactics? I for one have had enough!

Agree21 Disagree2

Lerner will never sack a manager half way through the season. He'll give him money this window and its results or the door!

Agree11 Disagree4

No chance mate. Zero funds as we are about to be sold.
Hoolahan can come if we get rid of Ireland permanently for 1.2 million.

Agree8 Disagree9

Sold to who?, Randy ain't going to sell Villa half way during a season at the end when we know here we are is the best time to sell certainly not know.

Agree6 Disagree5

Not if were relegated, at least at the moment were still in the premier league.

Agree5 Disagree3

Enjoyed that game today well won :) lol

Another awe-inspiring post-match interview from lamberk where he said the same old trash about us "not being good enough", well done mate you have noticed that we are a joke, question is, what do you plan to do to resolve our demise? 90 percent of fans sick to the back teeth with your piffle! sort it out or walk, we've had enough!

Agree11 Disagree2

The same Paul Lambert name yous where all shouting to get when he was in charge at Norwich, aye I remember it

Agree4 Disagree12

Yeee things look grim but were still above Norwich could be worse!

Agree10 Disagree0

Could be a lot worse

Agree8 Disagree0

True we wanted Lambert but at Norwich he seemed to actually know a thing or two about tactics. We might have made a bad call but enough is enough, we can't put up with such poor managerial decisions.

Agree4 Disagree2

Give him this window to add then look in to it in the summer but I have a feeling he will turn it around, all our strikers are just that strikers, we are short on a winger, cam or 2, dm, cb, lb and rb.
If he can get quality here and add to what we got and still not get results then fair enough he had ample opportunity but till then I would keep him!

HI all,
It seems that PL is talking about Hoolahan from Norwich for 1.5m. Report from a red top today.

Believable16 Unbelievable1

I believe this deal will happen, not that I want it to be we are Aston Villa, so we buy

Slow, no touch, no resale value players so Hoolahan welcome to VP

Agree16 Disagree9

Clearly have no idea about football, the comment above, as your slating this one off without even knowing the facts. Analytically, Hoolahan is a top player. He is skillful, clever, highly technical and offers something very much missing in the current AVFC team. He is experienced and Lambert knows how to get the best out of him. Plus at 1.5m he is a snip and will do very well for us. Since when did Hoolahan have no touch, have you even seen him play? Really does my nut in when naive and clueless fans make comments like yours, I've been working in sports analysis at the top levels for a long time and although your opinion is allowed, you are speaking utter rubbish. Period.

Azza

Agree16 Disagree10

This is what we have come to Norwich reject I did say fed up of young and hungry but it should be young and good, skilful PL you are not villa class LEAVE, villajk

Agree4 Disagree7

I always thought lambert would go in for Hoolihan but not sure now is right time. He is the attacking style midfirlder we need but he isn't the plsyer he was last season!

Agree8 Disagree3

Azza so you are a sports analysis SO WHAT, PL is a manager of Aston Villa 1 good buy poor football poor buys or don't you agree, as a Top Sports Analysis you view please villajk

Agree7 Disagree5

If you want Hoolahan it will cost more than £1.5 mill something like £4 + Benteke and Guzan

Agree3 Disagree16

Further more, Norwich have long memories and won't deal With Villa Hoolahan signed new contract in the summer so dream on

Agree5 Disagree9

Money talks and as you have non you'll take what's on offer country boy

Agree9 Disagree3

Well done mate. You have just made yourself look foolish. The fans may have long memories but the boards at clubs deal in finances only
The deal will be done if it makes financial sense

Agree5 Disagree2

Hello Azza - all due respect to a fellow Villa fan etc. Hell, the last thing we need is internal strife but as you used the same tone, have some back - actually, you are the one talking 'utter nonsense'. Even I, as a non-sports analyst (what is that, by the way? Not being sarky, I'm genuinely intrigued), know that one player doesn't make a team - either in the literal or in the figurative sense. Hoolahan may well be a gifted technician but what we need right now is a mixture of guile, tenacity, leadership and bottle. I wouldn't wish to heap those expectations or responsibility on just one new player - it would be unfair when the remainder of the current team appear to have very little appetite to deliver. Would you agree that teams generally reflect their manager? If so, Villa are currently a miserable, downbeat and somewhat unintelligible mess of a football team.

Pete D

Agree10 Disagree4

Dunno about Azza, but I'd agree with that last bit

Agree7 Disagree1

Lol there's some childish stuff on here sometimes.

Hoolahan is a decent player who does make things happen so it can only be a good thing if we signed him.

Yes one player don't make a team but I'm sure Lambert will try get a couple more in this window.

>Scg87

Agree10 Disagree5

One man can change a team totally. Providing he has a brain one player could alter us from chasers to a real team.
don't know who that might be, but for a comparison, one man made Spuds, Bale.
Now without him they are having to work very hard to stay in the top half.
If Bale was still there he would probably put a dozen in the net by now and Spuds would be in the top 4.
I know that AV cannot be compared to Spuds but losing one player has had a detrimental effect on their season.
It will take more than Hoolihan to change AV.

Agree8 Disagree5

If the person who thinks Norwich have no money have a look at the end of season financial status, Norwich city DEBT FREE and with funds to spend and NO need to sell before bring in new players, have fun Playing them Blue noses next season Villa

Agree2 Disagree9

Above all things we need a midfielder with energy, drive, strength and not only a killer touch but the ability to hold the ball and allow others around him to play, move into space and know that the right ball will be played to the right player. I am not talking Inesta, Xavi, Alonso, Silva, Hazard etc, they are all way out of our league but better than Hoolahan

Agree7 Disagree2

Norwich are closer to relegation. We just aren't happy because we have higher standards than Norwich City Football Club.

Agree3 Disagree2

Hey Canary, what use is £7. 50?
Thats why you need to sell Hoolihan for £1.5m.
It is no wonder you are going cheap.
Most of the fans say "no" but PL knows him better than we do.

Agree8 Disagree2

Perhaps the canaries are going to sell a dozen size 1 brown eggs donated by Delightful Delia. Should double the transfer budget in one go.

Agree3 Disagree2

Message for the country boy, what's the point in been debt free if your not allowed to spend any? This on top of your relegation battle (that you've been in all season) and the fact that your star man winki hasn't done anything! Personally I for one would not be on this page but on gates of my club screaming and shouting!

According to inside fotbol the agent of Steven Defour has said his client would be interested in a move the the premier league and more specifically Asotn Villa no more is expected to develop until the 10th of January he has been valued at 7m euros by Porto

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Would love him at the club. Also if we can get Heitinga that shows intent. Guidetti or Saha on loan as well. Still think full back is a serious weakness though!

Agree8 Disagree2

Everton fan Heitinga showing intent?. Intent on being relegated you mean, the guy is a liability, stay clear, go for Lescott instead ten times the player.

Agree10 Disagree0

I agree that heitinga is not prem class at all, jus look at what benteke did to him in the 3-3 draw last season and that wasn't even his worst performance!
