Villa to look at Vargas from Fiorentina again after missing out on Sigurosson, who joined up with Swansea on loan this week. Anthony Knockaert from Guingamp is also an option according to some sources.
Mcleish may also pounce for unsettled Belgian midfielder Steven Defour who's looking to leave Porto already, though other premiership clubs are on alert inc Fulham, Newcastle, West Brom and Liverpool.

Ed what have you heard on new signings.I think mcleish will get money to spend as learner needs to strengthen the team, to enable him to sell the club. {Ed001's Note - the only things I have heard recently were a return for Gardner, he is supposed to have had his 'people' (whatever that actually means!) contact the club expressing a desire to return. Also Maynard is a possibility, and there is a very real interest in Kayal.}
