Rumour is Martinez contacted Lerner & he informed him that AVFC is not intrested due to the antics of last summer.

McLeish could become the new Besiktas manager by next week (I had to laugh at it - LOL!)

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Poor Besiktas

Aston Villa to officially approach Paul Lambert tomorrow.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Lerner should be acting NOW, tomorrow may be too late, Swansea, Baggies both want managers.

Agree4 Disagree1

I can see us getting rejected again :(

Agree4 Disagree2

Why would Lambert go to Villa, They may have a big ground but poor support, poor board, no prospects you have to be fave for relegation next season , So I say it again WHY WHY would Lambert want that

Agree2 Disagree10

Why would Lambert go to AVFC? Let me answer you. Great demanding support, massive prospects if one is positive, Norwich, QPR, Sunderland are all more likely than AVFC to get relegated. all of this is directly opposite to your outlook. What is in it for Lambert? Challenge of taking on the most sleepy major club ion the prem. The belief that he can do what is needed. The opportunity to manage a club with a potential 40/45000 crowd every week. I wonder why Lambert would want to manage AVFC?

Agree9 Disagree3

Well he just resigned from Norwich , oh & he wants to join a GOOD club!

Agree5 Disagree0

Bookies seem to think Rangnick to WBA, Holloway to Swansea and Lambert to Villa. I think all three clubs would be pretty happy with those. Come on Paul, you know it makes sense!

Agree3 Disagree0

One reason VILLA are a BIG club !!two poor seasons admit, But Lambert can see the potential,Martinez,OGS,were only interview not offered the job ,how can they decline as some say

Agree4 Disagree0

One bad season doesnt make a bad club with a good manager the board will back and the fans will get behind, mcleish wrong fit for the club couldnt get any backing so i dont think that we will be relegation candidates again most probably mid table obscurity

Agree4 Disagree0

Looks like ur wrong then mate. Just proving that villa is a bigger club then norwich. Unlucky

Agree6 Disagree0

Norwich were in league 1 a few seasons ago and without lambert will be back there in no time!

Agree5 Disagree0

Maybe bluenoses and sad norwich city fans, can now stop posting stupid and envious statements on our site.we got lambert,so cry elsewhere norwich fans.and to the bluenoses as ive said many times, enjoy the championship.....suckers,.....big dave avfc forever dublin

Agree5 Disagree0

You villa t**ts will go down more like! you get a bit of bad form and youll all get on lamberts back like you always do blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.you will realise soon that he has left us too soon to be going into a s**t club with to much to do full of boring supporters. even if he does well really how long do you think he will stay? he used to play 4 us and look what he did

Agree1 Disagree1

Bye bye bye bye this canary is full of sh*t sounds like sour grapes to me even the legend that is jeremy goss said villa are a much better club much better stadium and loads more potential. to the majority of norwich supporters good luck because i for one think most of you are fantastic fans its just that as much as you argue otherwise villa is a step up for lambert ..... matt utv

Rodgers to Liverpool and Martinez has confirmed he is staying at Wigan.

Lambert and RDM are the 2 contenders now, possibly with McCarthy as Sporting Director.

I suspect Lambert has the job

Believable3 Unbelievable3

One cannot suspect as officially no one has been approached. However the opportunities are diminishing rapidly. Move yourself Mr Lerner.

Do the eds know who the most likely candidate is to land the job....between lambert and martinez? {Ed001's Note - Lambert is the chosen man, much as I hate to agree with Sly, Lerner won't go back for Martinez after he messed him about last summer.}

Ian hollaway has stepped into the frame, Martinez and rodgers future is else where, but hollaway has got what it takes to win and all the positive energy he creates can only be good news, let's face it he carnt do any worse than mcleish.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Does not fit the criteria & personally i believe he's a lunatic.

Agree4 Disagree1

Yeah but let's face he can though you blue nose, anyone who rates holloway as a premier league manager I do not wish to converse with

Agree1 Disagree2

Poyet heading up M40 as I text, had Tarricco with him and another? How do I know...I was filling up at service station in bay next to him!

Agree1 Disagree3

Hollaway are you jokin that appiontment would be rubbish. i cant take him serious always seems like he is jokin in his interviews tryin to make you laugh would not like him at all. think the best we could get is lambert.

Agree1 Disagree1

I've just heard on good authority that villa are lining up an offer for Michael laudrup

Agree1 Disagree5

Hate to comment on the M40, but from brighton the most likely route is M1, M6.

Agree2 Disagree1

No its not. Its M23, M25, M40 and M6 actually

Agree0 Disagree0

I think not. M40 much easier

Martinez looking to be favourite again as liverpool are sealing rogers deal and wigan will lose him this season.

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Martinez turned AVFC down before and he would turn us down again.

Agree4 Disagree6

He cant turn us down because we havent offered him the job!

Agree6 Disagree1

I said that "he would turn us down."

Agree1 Disagree4

Fair comment
