Liverpool have enquired about the availability of Benteke. Almost certainly a sign that LFC know Suarez will be gone in the summer, with both Real and Athletico bidding £35 million.

No idea what the Villa response was to the enquiry but all the indications are that Benteke wants to leave. Would have assumed he wanted a club which qualified for the Champions League but maybe money will be the ultimate draw for him.

Looking at £15 million move maybe closer to £18 million

It will be 25million plus if he goes, Lambert has said before nothing under 25mil. Why would we sell a player who is going to be world class in year or so for 15/18mil? fans of other clubs are so deluded if you think we will sell Benteke for anything near 15/18mil.

You REALLY don't want him? despite him single handedly ruining your defence both times we've played you and scoring a hat-trick in 180 minutes against you? its quite clear that you're only saying you don't want him because you won't get him. any team in the world other than maybe barcelona and bayern munich would love benteke in their team.

Remember those days not long ago when scousepool tried to get hold of Gareth Barry by devious means. Same tactics and the result will be the same. Unsettle the player then miss out totally as another club come up with the money. Benteke will stay and play his part as a Villa player this coming season and then he will sadly move on, but not to scousepool. The big 4/5/6 all use the same tactics, hint, rumour, nudge until the player believes everything that's going on.
Many years ago Steve Hodge left Villa and went to Spuds following a world cup where a Spuds manager was involved with the team. He came home and packed his bags down to the lane. Liverpool may not have the lure of CL football but the are a lot closer to it than Villa, they are a much biggger club with much more potential.

That may be true but what we're all saying is why would Benteke chose Liverpool when he has been linked to a range of better clubs who can offer champions league football. He'll go nowhere unless someone pays £25m which in todays market, is easily affordable to these clubs.

Another story to sell papers, you read what ever nonsense is in the sun, mirror or any other paper. For example the sun wrote a story about falcao, by a sports journalist that went to university got a degree in sports journalism and he still Diddnt have the initiative to realise that falcao was in fact Colombian not Argentinean!

Aston Villa set to offload both Ireland to stoke and Bent to Fulham/QPR. The villains also will sign Luke Murphy and Aaron Cresswell once we seal contracts with the likes of Benteke/Weimann/Lowton.

The new kit to be revealed on the 14th June.
