Welcome to Aston Villa Jacob bedeau deal done to be announced tomz. UTV

Still stuff to be done on this one, fee agreed but their manager said yesterday he wants him back for the rest of the year.

27 Jan 2017 21:04:28
I can't see Jack leaving Villa, especially to Boro or the likes of, even if they doubled his wages. He will flourish with our new midfield, give it to him in the final 3rd, not expect him to track back so much = get the best out of the most talented young player we've ever had come through imo?

On the money Allyp1972 - only trouble is his agent will be thinking of all the money, and if your jack, as a very young player, how will he react to the manager seeing him as surplus.

i just hope he stays, because he might go on to flourish and get better. same kind of thing with ronaldo; first season at united not consistent and selfish, but with fergie to guide him, stellar career, and thats what i reckon will happen here.

27 Jan 2017 23:56:02
I'm sure his dads his agent, he was when he signed the new contract under Sherwood, so don't need to worry about anyone pushing him to move from his side of things

28 Jan 2017 11:04:21
Hope your right chris, it amazes me how we offer rhm the highest ever salary for an academy graduate, but when grealish got his chance he had the class and confidence to look like he'd been a first teamer for ages, yes he's inconsistent, but i can't remember any teenage player being the finished article when they made the move up.

bruce will get him into shape, he just needs to realise he can't be one of the lads, and looking after his body now will prolong his career, once that sinks in he'll pull his tail in and knuckle down, and we all benefit.

28 Jan 2017 11:35:48
Spot on ally you talking sense shame on all the people that said we should sell jack

27 Jan 2017 18:50:52

27 Jan 2017 20:54:41

Would love to believe you but it's you isn't it.

27 Jan 2017 16:42:24
Is the latest tweet from the dr saying that there is a 75% chance of an exchange deal?

27 Jan 2017 17:45:08
You mean the one that says 75%- (75%+X)? I would assume that means there is a 75% chance of us getting an incomer with an associated outgoer plus some cash. So Rhodes for Grealish plus some cash.

27 Jan 2017 19:27:16
I would prefer it to be 75% for hogan with McCormack as Part of the swap . we can but dream

27 Jan 2017 12:21:55
If the rumour is true about Grealish, let him go.
The guy is too slow, overthinks everything, and while he is thinking teams are back in position, then he gives the dam ball away, he is just not direct enough.
To be honest I have never really rated him anyway, so give him his big money move (ready for the pun) and he can "laugh" all the way to the bank.
Rhodes could be involved in the deal if true !

27 Jan 2017 12:47:34
Jack Should stay will be a star

27 Jan 2017 13:36:45
If it was a choice between keeping Grealish or selling him and landing Rhodes and Gradel I would go with the latter (just)
On one hand it would be interesting to see if Jack can take the step up now that we have, on paper, a much stronger side. On the other hand, a pacy left-sided player and a fox in the box type striker, added to what we already have, could see us in the play offs this season

27 Jan 2017 15:13:35
Can see why we'd sell but if we did can see it being the same as Cahill, they go onto bigger and better things and we sit here saying "he's another one we shouldn't have let go", his still young, get good players around him and he performs.

27 Jan 2017 16:10:07
Grealish is by far the best player on the ball in the squad. He just needs to start trusting his team mates or he needs better team mate and this has just happened.

I am very interested to see him interact with Lansbury and Hourihan.

27 Jan 2017 16:56:39
I agree Prob. I think he will be a better player with better players around him
In an ideal world we keep him but still buy Rhodes and Gradel.

27 Jan 2017 17:37:50
Defo agree we can't sell jack anyway rhodes ain't anygood anyway what is he 4th choice in a struggling boro team

27 Jan 2017 00:15:56
Have you lot heard on the radio, grealish to the boro?, i hope this is a flaming wind up/ i'd rather keep him and bomb out rhm. the fella on the radio was saying his inconsistency and sometimes lapse decision making off the field have got brucey maybe wondering is he worth all the effort. i think he is, he's still young, tell me this is a windup or has the world gone mad?

27 Jan 2017 00:57:38
In my opinion this one is a rubbish story Class82 I can only say that boro would like to sign Messi and Ronaldo too but there is little chance of that also :-)

27 Jan 2017 01:13:55
But on the other hand if he is not in Steve Bruce's plans then there may be some truth in it but i would only see this happening if there is a quality player out there who Steve would prefer more than Jack.

27 Jan 2017 01:20:30
Your right, i know your right, but hearing it was properly left field, maybe its my hearing playing tricks on me, maybe i'm the one going doo-lalley, oh well, back to my padded cell again, cheers fella for putting that one straight for me!

27 Jan 2017 07:28:15
Let him go if we can get decent money for him. How much is he worth though, £6m, £8m, £10m, £12m?
Maybe this is one of the 50% leaves Dr Xia is referring to. Get someone in who contributes every game not just when he feels like it. He's a liability on and off the pitch.

27 Jan 2017 09:35:25
Just heard it as well, weird one to say the least! Don't think it will happen, Bruce rates him, very good option off the bench, undoubtedly talented and Boro really? Maybe if it was Saints or Everton but Boro aren't going to tempt a Villa fan away from their club when they'll most likely be in this league next year!

27 Jan 2017 09:59:29
Grealish shouldn't be sold for any less than £20 million! In a good team the kid would be a star albeit a little inconsistent. Anyway it won't happen because he won't go. Villa "even in the Championship" or Boro? It's a no brainer especially for a young Villa fan! Chances of it happening .30%

27 Jan 2017 10:16:01
Fancy saying let grealish go what planet you on he is still a kid who is slowly growing up he is class so composed on the ball he is an attacking option off the bench now our midfield is a lot stronger

27 Jan 2017 11:25:40
Sell him. Overrated, trouble off the pitch and just not consistent enough. Take a good offer and get a creative player in who performs week in week out.

27 Jan 2017 12:23:48
According to "the Star". Aston Villa ready to offer Jack Grealish as part of player-plus-cash deal for Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes

Villa rate Grealish at £20m so it would be Rhodes and cash.

27 Jan 2017 12:54:03
Take the money and Rhodes. Grealish can be class but too often is anonymous. He wouldn't get away with his off field antics at another club (which he doesn't support) .

27 Jan 2017 20:12:59
If he is to go we need to milk the transfer for every penny we can get. Young, English, has the potential if he gets his head down. We should easily be able to get £30 million out of him if Sterling and Stones are worth £50 million. Personally I would hang on to him and see how he performs now Bruce has toughened the midfield. Would be nice to see him get a run of games as a number 10 behind Kodjia now we have Lansbury and Hourihane running the midfield rather than being stuck out wide (which he doesn't really have the pace for) .

26 Jan 2017 23:56:32
So there's a new team. yes its called Villaboro, They now want Jack Grelish, question is would you sell and how much is Jack Grelish, worth?

27 Jan 2017 00:43:44
More than a team like Boro could afford. We've seen the extortionate prices teams are prepared to pay for young English players with potential, despite their off the field antics. I'm not saying he's worth 50 million or anything but.

27 Jan 2017 07:29:28
Yes, sell him at right price. No idea what the "right" price is though.

27 Jan 2017 09:36:27
Spot on Andy, being English and Young for some reason inflates your price, so grealish normally would be around 7-8mil, so we should ask for 25.

27 Jan 2017 20:14:19
It really does make you wonder what they are seeing in our players to have gone after so many of them.
