gana off to everton after they meet his buyout.

Was always going to happen that he'd be off, think we were just a stepping stone for him anyway? I personally won't miss him but good luck to him

UTV.

Are we the only club in the country who continually insert low low buy out clauses into player contracts? A week after Liverpool get 15million for Jordan Ibe, we get 7 million for a player we paid 9 million for 12 months ago.

Same i won't either mate didn't rate him at all.

26 Jul 2016 21:22:34
Well can't be that bad if other clubs like him and want too buy him.

26 Jul 2016 21:26:03
I do rate him but if a player wants to go must be let go. only players who want to fight for the shirt must stay or arrive. I do think he will show he is a good player though.

I think the low buy-out clause will have been activated by our relegation. Had we styed up, i'm sure there either wouldn't have been a cluase or the figure would have been higher at least.
Only another 6/ 7 players to get out now and then we can bring in 2/ 3 qualty signings and begin our glorious chmpionship wnning season.

Woodsville55, Villa paid £6,5 million for Gana, not £9 million. Besides, Villa will get more than what they paid for him.

Hmchmchl85 I don't know where you git 6.5m from. Sky sports suggested it was 9 million, transfer market say 7.6 m. The point I was making was that we spear to have had s policy of recruiting or contract renewals (Delph) which really undervalue the market value of players - giving the example of Liverpool getting 15 million for ibe.

I'm pretty sure that's not our policy Woodsvilla.
You need to look at it in context. For several seasons we've been near the bottom of the table and not playing very well, which means that most of our better players will be undervalued.
We have now been relegated, again impacting the market value of our players and activating release clauses that many players have built into their contracts these days. It's a clause that gives lower achieving teams like Villa a chance of signing a 'hot prospect', so it works both ways to some degree.
The Delph case again should be treated in context. He nearly left for free whilst at the top of his game. The club did well to get anything for him.
I share your frustration mate, but to suggest its club policy is a little wide of the mark i'd suggest. Unfortunately it's just a reflection of our poor management and league performance over several seasons.
